Epstein-Barr virus-induced molecule 1 ligand chemokine (CCL19) is a CC chemokine that chemoattracts both dendritic cells (DC) and T lymphocytes. We evaluated the antitumour efficacy of CCL19 in a murine model of spontaneous bronchoalveolar cell carcinoma. These transgenic mice (CC-10 TAg) express the SV40 large T antigen under the Clara Cell promoter, develop bilateral, multifocal, pulmonary carcinomas and die at 4 months owing to progressive pulmonary tumour burden. To mimic therapy in late-stage disease, 3-month-old transgenic mice were treated with recombinant CCL19 (0.5 microg dose(-1)) by intranodal (axillary lymph node region) injection three times per week for 4 weeks. CCL19 treatment led to a marked reduction in tumour burden with extensive mononuclear infiltration of the tumours compared to diluent treated controls. Flow cytometric analyses showed significant increases in CD4 and CD8T cell subsets as well as DC in the lungs of CCL19-treated mice. Lung tissue cytokine profiles showed a shift towards immune stimulatory molecules with a decrease in the immunosuppressive cytokine TGF-beta. Our findings show that CCL19 may serve as a potential immune stimulator and provide a strong rationale for the evaluation of CCL19 in cancer immunotherapy.

"Desalted water" feedwater oxygen treatment dexterously combines the characteristics of water vapor loss in normal operation of unit and the natural saturation of dissolved oxygen in make-up water. It's a new way to implement oxygenated treatment of boiler feedwater, which is more environmentally friendly and economical. Compared to the conventional oxygen bottles or air oxygen methods, the passivation protection mechanism of the heating surface has no difference in essence, but it's further improved in the aspects of simple operation, project investment and cost, and reduce the use of dangerous chemical sources. A 350 MW supercritical unit applied this technology in China, after nearly 2 y operation, the cleanliness of the water vapor system and the stability control of dissolved oxygen has achieved successful results. According to operation statistics, the new technology has saved more than 2 million RMB of economic cost for the power plant, and gradually applied in Henan, Guizhou, Hubei, Inner Mongolia and other regions. Korea has developed a Helium Cooled Ceramic Reflector Test Blanket Module (Ko HCCR TBM) related to the ITER project. Tungsten is considered as a prime candidate for the plasma facing materials in fusion reactors, and for the structure material of Ko HCCR TBM. KAERI (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute) has been evaluating neutron cross sections of tungsten isotopes for neutron energy of up to 150 MeV based on nuclear reaction codes and available measurement data. New experimental data were measured at nELBE of HZDR (Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf) for a comparison with the evaluated and existing measurement data. The neutron source nELBE adopts a 40 MeV superconducting electron linac and a liquid Pb target for time-of-flight measurements. The nELBE neutron source uses no moderator and provides fast neutrons. An electron bunch length of 5 ps and a compact target provide a good neutron energy resolution with a relatively short flight length compared to other time-of-flight neutron sources. Transmission data of a natural tungsten sample were measured with a flight path length of 852.1 cm and a repetition rate of 101.56 kHz. The neutron total cross section of natural tungsten was obtained for an energy range of 100 keV to 10 MeV.
