Abstract

La notion d’aménagement raisonnable désigne toute tentative, dans une société, de s’accommoder ou de s’ajuster aux besoins d’un individu qui découlent de son appartenance à une minorité, dans le respect de l’égalité de traitement entre tous les êtres humains et des libertés fondamentales. Centrée sur les aménagements à destination des travailleurs en situation de handicap, cette enquête interroge l’émergence de cette catégorie en droit, ainsi que les usages qu’en font les acteurs sociaux dans le domaine du travail. Ce rapport examine les législations en vigueur, la jurisprudence et la doctrine. Il donne à voir les conditions d’importation de cette catégorie juridique en France et en Belgique et son articulation avec d’autres législations qui encadrent les relations de travail (obligation de reclassement, bien-être au travail, etc.). Il présente, ensuite, les résultats d’une enquête inédite menée auprès de professionnels – syndicalistes, avocats et agents des organismes publics de lutte contre les discriminations –, d’employeurs et de travailleurs avec un handicap, et met en lumière la façon dont cette catégorie juridique est mobilisée, contournée ou évitée. Les mobilisations syndicales et professionnelles, ainsi que les expériences du handicap au travail, s’inscrivent dans des configurations de relations professionnelles et des catégorisations administratives et juridiques du handicap différentes en France et en Belgique. Plus généralement, cette recherche montre les effets produits par l’introduction de cette obligation légale. Les acteurs du monde du travail se réfèrent peu aux législations en matière d’aménagement raisonnable, le pouvoir contraignant de ces normes étant contrebalancé par d’autres impératifs et logiques : discours managérial, droit du travail, etc. Néanmoins, ceci ne veut pas dire que le droit aux aménagements raisonnables n’a aucune effectivité, ni qu’il ne produit aucun effet. Les discours changent, les employeurs et les travailleurs se saisissent des cadres juridiques existants, les intègrent dans leurs discours et parfois dans leurs pratiques, lui donnent sens, et contribuent ainsi à remodeler les contours des normes juridiques.

32. Human Dietary Exposure to Fumonisin B1from Iranian Maize Harvested During 1998–2000

Abstract

Fumonisin B1(FB1) is the most abundant of the fumonisin mycotoxins, mainly produced in maize by F. verticillioidesand F. proliferatum. A previous study on the FB1 contamination of maize harvested in Mazandaran and Isfahan Provinces of Iran in 1998 and 1999 demonstrated contamination in both provinces. This present study was undertaken to further investigate the variation in levels of contamination and to estimate possible levels of human exposure to fumonisins in Iran. The mean level of FB1in 49 visually healthy maize samples collected from Mazandaran Province during 2000 was 6.14 mg/kg, which is higher than that found during 1998 and 1999 (2.27 and 3.18 mg/kg, respectively). Although these levels are higher than the Iranian legislative limits for fumonisins in maize intended for humans, the relatively low estimated consumption of maize in Iran (3.3 g/person/day) implies that average exposures (0.011 and 0.215 μg/kg body weight/day in Isfahan and Mazandaran, respectively) are within the provisional maximum tolerable daily intake of 2 μg/kg body weight/day set by the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives. 33. Evaluation of Natural Occurrence of FusariumMycotoxins in Wheat Fields of Northern Iran

Abstract

During 1996, 35 samples of fresh harvested wheat from the Northern Iran (Gonbad & Gorgan regions) were collected. The mycotoxins including nivalenol, deoxynivalenol, fusarenone-x, diacetoxyscirpenol, ueosolaniol, T-2 toxin, HT-2 toxin, and zearalenone were simultaneously detected. Wheat samples were extracted with aqueous methanol and purified by a 2-step chromatographic procedure using Amberlite XAD-4 and Florisil columns. Mycotoxins were detected by thin layer chromatography and quantitated by gas-liquid chromatography with flame ionization detector. The data revealed that 34, 27, and 35 out of 35 wheat samples were positive for nivalenol, neosolaniol, and zearalenone with average levels being 577.6, 476.2, and 3464.3 ppm, respectively. Deoxynivalenol, fusarenone-x, diacetoxyscirpenol, HT-2 toxin, and T-2 toxin were not detected in any of wheat samples.

36. Effect of cooking process on the residues of three carbamate pesticides in rice

Abstract

A gas chromatography mass spectrometry with spike calibration curve method was used to quantify three carbamate pesticides residue in cooked white rice and to estimate the reduction percentage of the cooking process duration. The selected pesticides are three carbamate pesticides including carbaryl and pirimicarb that their MRL is issued by “The Institute of Standards of Iran” and propoxur which is used as a widely consumed pesticide in rice. The analytical method entailed the following steps: 1- Blending 15 g cooked sample with 120 mL acetonitrile for 1 min in solvent proof blender, 2- Adding 6 g NaCl and blending for 1 min, 3- Filtering upper layer through 25 g anhydrous Na2SO4, 4- Cleaning up with PSA and MgSO4, 5- Centrifuging for 7 min, 6- Evaporating about 0.3 mL and reconstituting in toluene till 1 mL, 7- Injecting 2 μL extract into GC/MS and analyzing by single quadruple selected ion monitoring GC/MS-SQ-SIM. The concentration of pesticides and the percentage of pesticides amounts after the cooking were determined by gas chromatography mass-spectrometry (GC/MS) using with interpolation of the relative peak areas for each pesticide to internal standard peak area in the sample on the spiked calibration curve. Calibration curve was linear over the range of 25 to 1000 ng/g, and LOQ was 25 ng/g for all three pesticides. The percent of loss for the three pesticides were 78%, 55% and 35% for carbaryl, propoxur and pirimicarb respectively. Different parameters such as vapor pressure, boiling point, and suspect ability of the compound to hydrolysis, could be responsible for the losing of pesticides during the cooking process.

38. Pesticide residues analysis in Iranian fruits and vegetables by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

Abstract

Pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables are one of the highest concerns of consumers who need food safety. In this study, forty-eight pesticide residues from different chemical structures including organochlorine, organophosphorus, organonitrogen, dicarboximides, strobilurin, triazine, pyrethroids, and other chemical groups. In 85 fruits and vegetables were determined and confirmed by GC-MS. The pesticide was extracted with ethyl-acetate, then, the extracts cleaned using high performance gel permeation column chromatography (GPC) and solid phase column (SPE). The mean recoveries of the pesticides were between 81 and 136%. The reproducibility of the relative standard deviation values was 2.1% and 14.8%. Pesticide residues were more frequently found in vegetables (65.5%) than in fruits (26.7%). The limits of detection and quantification of pesticide residues for the method were ranged from 0.003 to 0.06 μg/g and between 0.01 to 0.1 μg/g respectively. The analyzed samples did not contain residues from the monitored pesticides that were higher than the accepted maximum residue limits (MRLs) as adapted by the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission.

Abstract

The occurrence of emerging Fusarium mycotoxins beauvericin (BEA), enniatins (ENNs) (A, A1, B, B1), Fusaproliferin and moniliformin was evaluated by a liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometric (LC/ESI-MS/MS) technique in 65 domestic rice samples produced in Gilan and Mazandaran Provinces in Iran. The results showed that 46% of the samples were contaminated with at least one of the emerging mycotoxins. BEA was the most prevalent mycotoxin, which was found in 26 out of 65 rice samples at the concentrations up to 0.47 µg/Kg. Enniatin A1 which was the only member of ENNs was detected in the samples, occurred in 7.7% of samples with an average level of 0.06 μg/Kg. No detectable level of Fusaproliferin and moniliformin was found. This is the first report concerning the contamination of Iranian domestic rice samples with the emerging Fusarium mycotoxins.

Abstract

Background: In Iran, maize is cultivated in wide areas including northern provinces. It is one of the most important crops for poultry and livestock feeding, which is susceptible to aflatoxins (AFs) contamination. So, pre-harvest maize samples from Mazandaran province, north of Iran were analyzed for AFs contamination. Objective: Methods: Thirty-five pre-harvest maize samples were analyzed using immunoaffinity column and reversed-phase liquid chromatography with post-column derivatization. Results: Data revealed that incidence of AFB1, AFB2 and total aflatoxins (AFT) in maize samples were 66%, 54% and 63% with mean of 9.5 ± 16.3, 1.7 ± 2.6 and 10.4 ± 18.4 ng/g, respectively. Conclusion: The mean level of AFB1 in samples was higher than the Iranian maximum tolerated level (MTL). But, AFT mean level (10.4 ng/g) was lower than the Iranian and US (20 ng/g) MTLs.

43. Validation of an analytical method for determination of 13 priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in mineral water using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction and GC-MS

Abstract

Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME) combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used for the extraction and determination of 13 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in mineral water samples. In this procedure, the suitable combination of extraction solvent (500 µL chloroform) and disperser solvent (1000 µL acetone) were quickly injected into the water sample (10.00 mL) by Hamilton syringe. After centrifugation, 500 µL of the lower organic phase was dried under a gentle stream of nitrogen, re-dissolved in chloroform and injected into GC-MS. Chloroform and acetone were found to be the best extraction and disperser solvent, respectively. Validation of the method was performed using spiked calibration curves. The enrichment factor ranged from 93 to 129 and the recovery ranged from 71 to 90%. The linear ranges for all the PAHs were 0.10-2.80 ngmL(-1). The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of PAHs in water by using anthracene-d10 as internal standard, were in the range of 4-11% for most of the analytes (n = 3). Limit of detection (LOD) for different PAHs were between 0.03 and 0.1 ngmL(-1). The method was successfully applied for the analysis of PAHs in mineral water samples collected from Tehran.

Abstract

International audience; BACKGROUND: Thanks to direct-acting antivirals, hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection can be cured, with similar rates in HCV-infected and HIV-HCV co-infected patients. HCV cure is likely to foster behavioral changes in psychoactive substance use, which is highly prevalent in people living with HIV (PLWH). Cannabis is one substance that is very commonly used by PLWH, sometimes for therapeutic purposes. We aimed to identify correlates of cannabis use reduction following HCV cure in HIV-HCV co-infected cannabis users and to characterize persons who reduced their use. METHODS: We used data collected on HCV-cured cannabis users in a cross-sectional survey nested in the ANRS CO13 HEPAVIH cohort of HIV-HCV co-infected patients, to perform logistic regression, with post-HCV cure cannabis reduction as the outcome, and socio-behavioral characteristics as potential correlates. We also characterized the study sample by comparing post-cure substance use behaviors between those who reduced their cannabis use and those who did not. RESULTS: Among 140 HIV-infected cannabis users, 50 and 5 had reduced and increased their use, respectively, while 85 had not changed their use since HCV cure. Cannabis use reduction was significantly associated with tobacco use reduction, a decrease in fatigue level, paying more attention to one's dietary habits since HCV cure, and pre-HCV cure alcohol abstinence (p = 0.063 for alcohol use reduction). CONCLUSIONS: Among PLWH using cannabis, post-HCV cure cannabis reduction was associated with tobacco use reduction, improved well-being, and adoption of healthy behaviors. The management of addictive behaviors should therefore be encouraged during HCV treatment.

Abstract

The paper deals with the identification of nonlinear systems with adaptive filters. In particular, adaptive filters for functional link polynomial (FLiP) filters, a broad class of linear-in-the-parameters (LIP) nonlinear filters, are considered. FLiP filters include many popular LIP filters, as the Volterra filters, the Wiener nonlinear filters, and many others. Given the large number of coefficients of these filters modeling real systems, especially for high orders, the solution is often very sparse. Thus, an adaptive filter exploiting sparsity is considered, the improved proportionate NLMS algorithm (IPNLMS), and an optimal step-size is obtained for the filter. The optimal step-size alters the characteristics of the IPNLMS algorithm and provides a novel gradient descent adaptive filter. Simulation results involving the identification of a real nonlinear device illustrate the achievable performance in comparison with competing similar approaches.

Abstract

International audience; Mortality among individuals co-infected with HIV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) is relatively high. We evaluated the association between psychoactive substance use and both HCV and non-HCV mortality in HIV/HCV co-infected patients in France, using Fine and Gray's competing-risk model adjusted for socio-demographic, clinical predictors and confounding factors, while accounting for competing causes of death. Over a 5-year median follow-up period, 77 deaths occurred among 1028 patients. Regular/daily cannabis use, elevated coffee intake, and not currently smoking were independently associated with reduced HCV-mortality (adjusted sub-hazard ratio [95% CI] 0.28 [0.10-0.83], 0.38 [0.15-0.95], and 0.28 [0.10-0.79], respectively). Obesity and severe thinness were associated with increased HCV-mortality (2.44 [1.00-5.93] and 7.25 [2.22-23.6] versus normal weight, respectively). Regular binge drinking was associated with increased non-HCV-mortality (2.19 [1.10-4.37]). Further research is needed to understand the causal mechanisms involved. People living with HIV/HCV co-infection should be referred for tobacco, alcohol and weight control interventions and potential benefits of cannabis-based therapies investigated.
