The disentanglement evolution of bipartite spin-1/2 system coupled to a common surrounding XY chain in transverse fields at nonzero temperature is studied in this letter. The dynamical process of the entanglement is numerically and analytically investigated. We find that thermal effects can enhance disentanglement if the entangled initial state of the central spins does not in the decoherence free space. The critical phenomenon of quantum phase transitions reflected in the disentanglement can be washed out by the thermal effect eventually.

In this paper, we reinvestigate the faithful quantum teleportation of an arbitrary two-qubit state by a multi-particle channel with multi-particle joint measurements. The relationship between multi-particle quantum channel and the multi-particle joint measurement bases has been found. In addition, we show how to construct the multi-particle joint measurement bases.

We study the decoherence process of an exact solvable model that consists of a central spin-1/2 coupling to the surrounding anisotropy spin-1/2 chain in transverse fields. The Loschmidt echo is calculated to study the character of decoherence with different degree of anisotropy. Our results show that the degree of anisotropy γ greatly affects the decoherence process of the central spin-system when the spin chain is in weak transverse fields, but it gives weak effect in the strong transverse field. The decoherence process of the central system changed dramatically along the line of the critical points, and this may be explained as the reflection of quantum phase transitions.

The thermal entanglement of spin-1 atoms with nonlinear coupling in an optical lattice chain is investigated for two-particle and multi-particle systems. It is found that the relation between linear coupling and nonlinear coupling is the key to determine thermal entanglement, which shows in what kinds of atoms thermal entanglement exists. This result is true both for two-particle and multi-particle systems. For multi-particle systems, the thermal entanglement does not decrease greatly and the critical temperature decreases only slightly.

The effect of finite number and dimensionality has been discussed in this paper. The finite number effect has a negative correction to final temperature for 2D or 3D atomic Fermi gases. The changing of final temperature obtained by scanning from BEC region to BCS region are 10% or so with N≤103 and can be negligible when N>103. However, in 1D atomic Fermi gas, the effect gives a positive correction which greatly changes the final temperature in Fermi gas. This behavior is completely opposed to the 2D and 3D cases and a proper explanation is still to be found. Dimensionality also has a positive correction, in which the more tightly trapping, the higher final temperature one gets with the same particle number. A discussion is also presented.

We study that two atoms simultaneously interact with a single mode thermal field via different couplings and different spontaneous emission rates when two-photon process is involved. It is found that we indeed can employ the different couplings to produce the two-atom thermal entanglement in two-photon process. The different atomic spontaneous emission rates are also utilizable in generating thermal entanglement. We also investigate the effect of the cavity leakage. To the initial atomic state , a slight leakage can relieve the restriction of interaction time so that we can obtain a strong and steady entanglement.

The properties of the Hubbard-Holstein model for an electron-phonon system with strong electron correlations are investigated on the basis of a new diagram technique. The equations of the main dynamical quantities and optical dispersionless phonons are established. The problem of excluding partially or completely the phonon's coordinates and the corresponding renormalization of the physical parameters of the theory is discussed.

For the non-interacting electrons confined by a mesoscopic double-ring with a magnetic flux threading its centre, we consider the problem of persistent current at zero and finite temperatures. Furthermore, the tight-binding model is applied to give the expression of persistent current in this system. It is shown that, in this double-ring system, the phenomenon of entire period halving will occur.

The electron flux oscillations in photo-detachment of a non-collinear tri-atomic anion have been studied by taking each atom of the system as a coherent source of detached-electron wave. These electron waves traversing along three different trajectories result in a quantum interference. An analytical expression of detached-electron flux is evaluated for various detached-electron energies and for different geometrical shapes of the system. The results show that the electron flux distributions exhibit molecular shape-induced oscillatory structures. These oscillations are explained using the semi-classical closed-orbit theory; the outgoing electron waves produced from one center are propagated in the vicinity of the sources at other centers. It is also observed that in a particular case our non-collinear tri-atomic system reduces to the collinear tri-atomic system recently published.

We discuss the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates in a double-well potential subject to decoherence (or particle loss). Starting from the full many-body dynamics described by the master equation, an effective Gross-Pitaevskii-like equation is derived in the mean-field approximation. By numerically solving the GP equation, we find that macroscopic quantum self-trapping disappears for strong decoherence, while generalized self-trapping occurs under weak decoherence. The fixed points have been calculated, and we find that an abrupt change from elliptic to an attractor and a repeller occurs, reflecting the metastable behavior of the system around these points.

We study geometric phases of the ground states of inhomogeneous XY spin chains in transverse fields with Dzyaloshinski–Moriya (DM) interaction, and investigate the effect of the DM interaction on the quantum phase transition (QPT) of such spin chains. The results show that the DM interaction could influence the distribution of the regions of QPTs but could not produce new critical points for the spin-chain. This study extends the relation between geometric phases and QPTs.

We investigate a few features of entanglement of two types of particles coupled through a nonlinear interaction. It is shown that the entanglement created by the nonlinear interaction can reflect nonlinearity of the system. Possible observation of our prediction in a double-well trapped Bose–Einstein condensate is discussed.

The BEC in finite-number trapped atoms is investigated in this paper. The results show that the transition temperature is decreased by the finite-number effect, and the interactions between the atoms change the transition temperature, too. The specific heat below the transition point is no longer proportional to T3/2. In addition to the above effects, the distribution of the trapped atoms depend on its number. The repulsive interaction between the atoms also dilute the density of the atoms.
