A Gram-stain positive, aerobic, rod-shaped actinobacterial strain designated as JXJ CY 27-2

The synthesis, X-ray crystal and electronic structures of [Fe3(μ3-O)(mpmae)2(OAc)2 Cl3], 1, where mpmae-H = 2-(N-methyl-N-((pyridine-2-yl)methyl)amino)ethanol, are described. This cluster comprises three high-spin ferric ions and exhibits a T-shaped site topology. Variable-frequency electron paramagnetic resonance measurements performed on single crystals of 1 demonstrate a total spin ST = 5/2 ground state, characterized by a small, negative, and nearly axial zero-field splitting tensor D = −0.49 cm–1, E/D ≈ 0.055. Analysis of magnetic susceptibility, magnetization, and magneto-structural correlations further corroborate the presence of a sextet ground-spin state. The observed ground state originates from the strong anti-ferromagnetic interaction of two iron(III) spins, with J = 115(5) cm–1, that, in turn, are only weakly coupled to the spin of the third site, with j = 7(1) cm–1. This study reports on the synthesis, X-ray structure, magnetic properties, and computational studies of the complex [Mn3O(mhaep)3(MeOH)3](ClO4) (1), where the ligand H2mhaep is a 2-N,N-[methyl(2-hydroxymethyl)aminoethyl]phenol moiety. Compound 1 crystallizes in the trigonal space group P 3 - . The most significant structural characteristic is that the Jahn-Teller axes of the MnIII ions tilt to an angle of 47.6°. Calculations using the ORCA program, combined with irreducible representation methods indicate that, the leading terms of the molecular zero-field splitting (zfs), D and E terms, are largely quenched. The conclusion was confirmed by reduced magnetization measurements, which indicate that the magnitude of the D term is very limited. All of the magnetic data and the computational calculations point to a conclusion that compound 1 is ferromagnetically coupled with a total molecular spin of S = 6.

A new phthalocyanine Zinc(II) bearing benzyl ether dendritic substituents with nitro-terminal group: tetra-{3,5-[di-(4-nitro benzyloxy) benzyloxy]} Phthalocyanine Zinc(II) (ZnPc(NO2)8), was synthesis and characterized by IR, 1HNMR, MALDI-TOF-MS and UV/Vis. UV/Vis spectra of ZnPc(NO2)8 exhibited characteristic absorption peaks at 290, 350 and 680 nm, and fluorescence emission peak was at 692 nm with a quantum yield at 0.20 in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The polymeric nanoparticle ZnPc(NO2)8@MPEG-PLGA was formed between the amphiphilic block copolymer poly(ethylene glycol)-polylactic and polyglyctic acids (PEG-PLGA) and ZnPc(NO2)8, ZnPc(NO2)8@MPEG-PLGA formed a core-shell-type nanoparticle with diameter about 70 nm. UV/Vis spectra and fluorescence emission spectra of ZnPc(NO2)8@MPEG-PLGA were obviously lower than that of free ZnPc(NO2)8 in buffer solution, and with varying degrees of redshift. ZnPc(NO2)8@MPEG-PLGA would be a promising third-generation photosensitizer for PDT.

An aryl benzyl ester dendritic axially substituted silicon (IV) phthalocyanine, a di-{3,5-di-(4-methoxycarbonyl group benzyloxy) benzyloxy) benzyloxy} axially substituted silicon (IV) phthalocyanine (DSiPc) was synthesized. Its structure was characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, IR and ESI-MS. The photophysical property of DSiPc was studied by steady and time-resolved spectroscopic methods. The steric hindrance of dendritic structure can reduced the aggregation efficiently. The photoinduced intermolecular electron transfer between this novel macromolecule and benzoquinone was studied. The results showed that the fluorescence emission of this dendritic phthalocyanine could be quenched by BQ. Therefore, this novel dendritic phthalocyanine was an effective new electron donor and transmission complex could be used as a potential artificial photosynthesis system.

The reaction of 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic acid (H3btc), as a ligand, under pH-controlled hydrothermal conditions with nickel salts leads to the formation of a coordination polymer of {CsNi3(OH)(H2O)3[C6H3(CO2)3]2·3H2O}n (1). The subunit of compound 1 contains a hydroxide- and carboxylate-bridged trinickel clusters that are linked by an unsymmetrical organic carboxylate spacer to form a chiral three-dimensional anionic framework, in which cesium cations and guest water molecules are located in one-dimensional channels. The presence of a hydroxide ion serves both as a deprotonation agent and a cation source during the hydrothermal reaction, thus permitting the extent of deprotonation of the unsymmetrical ligand H3btc to be controlled, which is essential for the successful formation of compound 1. The magnetic properties of compound 1 were analyzed. Both dc and ac magnetic susceptibility as well as reduced magnetization measurements confirmed the spin-frustration nature of 1.

Axially substituted tin phthalocyanines, namely dichloride-tetra-(α-pentyloxy) tin (IV) phthalocyanine 2, dihydroxy-tetra-(α-pentyloxy) tin (IV) phthalocyanine 3 and its dimmer di-μ-oxo- tetra-(α-pentyloxy) tin(IV) phthalocyanine 4 were synthesized. The catalytic effect of H2O-free CaCl2 in quinoline was used for condensation of dihydroxy tin phthalocyanine 3 to the cofacially array dimmer 4. Their structures were characterized by UV–vis, IR, elemental analysis, MS, as well as 1HNMR spectroscopy.

A novel anthraquinone phthalocyanine Al(Ⅲ) 4 and Co(Ⅱ) 5 were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV/ vis, 1H NMR, HPLC and MS. The photophysical properties of the two metal complexes were studied and compared by fluorescence spectrum method.

Polymer-supported phosphine ligand 3b derived from ferrocene was prepared, and applied in palladium-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura reactions. A range of aryl bromides can couple with phenylboronic acid to obtain corresponding biaryls in excellent yields. The recycling of the polymer-bound catalyst was tested without adding palladium.

The photoinduced intra-molecular energy transfer in phthalocyanine zinc(II) bearing poly (aryl benzyl ether) dendritic substituents with carboxylic terminal was studied by steady-state, time-resolved fluorescence and UV/Vis spectroscopic methods. The result shows that the complexes mainly existed as monomers in dimethyl sulfoxide. The light-harvesting ability of this series of dendritic phthalocyanines increased with the dendron generation under 270 nm. The effects of the dendron generation on the fluorescence characteristics of phthalocyanine cores was significantly, and the fluorescence lifetime and fluorescent quantum yield decreased with the increase of the dendron generation. Intra-molecular energy could be transferred from peripheral dendron acting as an energy hydrazine to the phthalocyanine core during a photo-induced process. With the dendrimer increasing, the intra-molecular energy transfer quantum yield increased. These results obviously indicated that this series of dendritic phthalocyanines is a king of novel compound with light-harvesting structure.

Ag+-doped ZnS nanocrystals surface-capped with thiourea (expressed as ZnS: Ag/thiourea) were synthesized through sol-gel method with thiourea as a surface modifier and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray fluorescence spectrum (XRF), infrared spectrum (IR), UV-Vis absorption spectrum(UV-Vis), and photoluminescence spectrum (PL). The results show that Ag+ ions are doped in ZnS nanocrys-tals, and the sulfur atoms in thiourea molecules coordinate with metal ions on the surface of the nanocrystals. The spherical ZnS: Ag/thiourea nanocrystals with an average diameter of 5 nm have good fluorescent characteristics, and therefore have great potential for use in molecular assembly and novel luminescence materials.

To investigate the therapeutic effects of nanophthalocyanine photosensitizers on an experimental rat choroidal neovescularization (CNV) model, as well as to evaluate the cytotoxicity of which on human retinal pigment epithelia (HRPE) and human retinal endothelial cells (HRECs).Two types of photosensitizers, G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8) and G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8)/m respectively, were administrated for photodynamic therapy (PDT) after a successful establishment of CNV model on Brown-Norway (BN) rats via fundus photocoagulation. The therapeutic effects of the two drugs were assessed through optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein fundus angiography (FFA) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). For cytotoxicity tests, cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assays and changes of mitochondrial transmembrane potential (△Ψm) were conducted on HRPE and HRECs after initial uptake of the two drugs.Both photosensitizers demonstrated an improvement of vascular leakage and closure of CNV 1 week after PDT as confirmed by fundus image, OCT, FFA and TEM. Two weeks after PDT, G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8)/m showed a better CNV closure effect versus G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8) (P0.05). A significant difference (P0.01) was found in uptake of the two drugs in HRPE and HRECs, with no difference between the drugs (P0.05). Both photosensitizers showed cytotoxicity on HRPE, but G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8)/m induced a lower cell viability.G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8)/m mediated PDT is better than G(1)-ZnPc(COOH)(8) in CNV closure and also have the advantage of fast metabolism leading to less side effect.

The tetra-sulfonated phathalocyanine cobalt(CoPcS4)was synthesized by using 4-sulfonic phthalic acid as raw material, CoCl2 as template agent and (NH4)2 MoO4 as catalyst. CoPcS4 was demonstrated to be C4h mono-isomer by elementary analysis, IR, NMR and HLPC. Depolymerization of CoPcS4 was found in DMSO. The depolymerization increased with the pH value raising. The interaction of tetra-sulfonated phathalocyanine cobalt with bovine serum albumin (BSA) was studied by UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra The number of binding sites and binding constant were determined at equal pace of the order of magnitude 10(5) L x mol(-1). CoPcS4 binds with BSA at Site I and Site II. In conclusion, COPcS4 binds with BSA commendably and albumin plays a role of storage and transport.

Octa-carboxylic phthalocyanine aluminium (AlPc(COOH)8) was used as fluorescent probe of infrared region. The interaction of octa-carboxylic phthalocyanine aluminium (AlPc(COOH)s) and bovine serum albumin(BSA) was studied by UV/ Vis and fluorescence spectra methods. The binding constant KA and n of phthalocyanine aluminium with BSA were determined. The results were K=5. 74 X 10(5) , n= 5. 7 and K= 3. 51 X 10(5) , for these two methods respectively. The same results by using two different analytical methods were obtained. Besides, hemin chloride(HE), ibuprofen(IB) and L-tryptophan(TRP) were used as probes, and the effects of these probes on the spectra of AlPc(COOH)8 )-BSA were studied by competitive binding method. The result indicated that, by adding HE into the AlPc(COOH)8)-BSA system, obvious spectral change of the system was observed, while adding TRP and IB caused no spectral changes. The binding site of octa-carboxylic phthalocyanine aluminium on the BSA was found to be at the I site by competitive binding method.

In the present paper, CdS nanoparticles of different size surface-capped with thiourea [expressed as CdS/SC(NH2)2] were prepared by sol-gel method, and characterized by XRD, TEM, IR and PL. The results show that the molar ratio of thiourea to cadmium ion has influence on the size and luminescence properties of the nanoparticles. With increasing the mdar ratio of thiourea to cadmium ion in the reactant, the size of the nanoparticles decreases, and the maximum emission wavelength of the nanoparticles shows an obvious blue shift due to quantum confinement effect. The effect of calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid (ct-DNA) on the fluorescence spectrum of the CdS/SC(NH2)2 nanoparticles was also studied. The result shows that the intensity of fluorescence spectrum of the nanoparticles is quenched by ct-DNA, which is probably caused by the electrostatic interaction between CdS/SC(NH2)2 nanoparticles and ct-DNA. The CdS/SC(NH2)2 nanoparticles are hopeful of being used as fluorescence probes in DNA determination.
