Abstract Background Meloidogyne incognita is one of the most important plant-parasitic nematodes and causes tremendous losses to the agricultural economy. Light is an important living factor for plants and pathogenic organisms, and sufficient light promotes root-knot nematode infection, but the underlying mechanism is still unclear. Results Expression level and genetic analyses revealed that the photoreceptor genes PHY, CRY, and PHOT have a negative impact on nematode infection. Interestingly, ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL5 (HY5), a downstream gene involved in the regulation of light signaling, is associated with photoreceptor-mediated negative regulation of root-knot nematode resistance. ChIP and yeast one-hybrid assays supported that HY5 participates in plant-to-root-knot nematode responses by directly binding to the SWEET negative regulatory factors involved in root-knot nematode resistance. Conclusions This study elucidates the important role of light signaling pathways in plant resistance to nematodes, providing a new perspective for RKN resistance research.

Abstract Objective Despite advancements in spinal metastasis surgery techniques and the rapid development of multidisciplinary treatment models, we aimed to explore the clinical efficacy of spinal metastasis surgery performed by a combined NOMS decision system-utilizing multidisciplinary team and Revised Tokuhashi scoring system, compared with the Revised Tokuhashi scoring system. Methods Clinical data from 102 patients with spinal metastases who underwent surgery at three affiliated hospitals of Zunyi Medical University from December 2017 to June 2022 were analysed. The patients were randomly assigned to two groups: 52 patients in the treatment group involving the combined NOMS decision system-utilizing multidisciplinary team and Revised Tokuhashi scoring system (i.e., the combined group), and 50 patients in the treatment group involving the Revised Tokuhashi scoring system only (i.e., the revised TSS-only group). Moreover, there were no statistically significant differences in preoperative general data or indicators between the two groups. Intraoperative and postoperative complications, average hospital stay, mortality rate, and follow-up observation indicators, including the visual analogue scale (VAS) score for pain, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status, Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) score, negative psychological assessment score (using the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, [SAS]), and neurological function recovery score (Frankel functional classification) were compared between the two groups. Results All 102 patients successfully completed surgery and were discharged. The follow-up period ranged from 12 to 24 months, with an average of (13.2 ± 2.4) months. The patients in the combined group experienced fewer complications such as surgical wound infections 3 patients(5.77%), intraoperative massive haemorrhage 2 patients(3.85%), cerebrospinal fluid leakage 2 patients(3.85%), deep vein thrombosis 4 patients(7.69%),and neurological damage 1 patient(1.92%), than patients in the revised TSS-only group (wound infections,11 patients(22%); intraoperative massive haemorrhage, 8 patients(16%);cerebrospinal fluid leakage,5 patients(10%);deep vein thrombosis,13 patients (26%); neurological damage,2 patients (4%). Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy in reducing anxiety, pain, and vital sign changes in ophthalmic surgery patients. Methods: An extensive search of databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, identified relevant studies up to Jan 2024. Selection of studies was conducted based on the PICOS criteria. The quality of methodology was assessed using the Cochrane risk-of-bias assessment tool and Review Manager 5.4. Meta-analysis comparing the control group and the music therapy group was performed using R and Stata/SE 15.1 random or fixed effects model. Results: This meta-analysis included fifteen studies comprising 2098 participants. The analysis revealed that music therapy significantly reduced the risk of high anxiety levels as measured by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) (I2 = 0 %, RR(95 %CI): 0.75(0.63, 0.88), p = 0.0006), indicating a substantial effect without heterogeneity. In this study, ionic liquids (ILs) were used as organic modifiers by introducing montmorillonite nanolayers containing potential C and N active sites between the montmorillonite nanolayers. Organically modified montmorillonite (ILs-Mt-p) was further prepared by high-temperature pyrolysis under N2 and used for the removal of ofloxacin (OFL) by activated peroxymonosulfate (PMS). Combined with XPS and other characterization analyses, it was found that the catalyst materials prepared from different organic modifiers had similar surface functional groups and graphitized structures, but contained differences in the types and numbers of C and N active sites. The catalyst (3CPC-Mt-p) obtained after pyrolysis of montmorillonite modified with cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) had optimal catalytic performance, in which graphitic C, graphitic N, and carbonyl group (CO) could synergistically promote the activation of PMS by electron transfer, and 77.3 % of OFL could be removed within 60 min. The effects of OFL concentration, initial pH, and anions on the effects of OFL removal by the 3CPC-Mt-p/PMS system were further investigated. Satisfactory degradation results were obtained over a wide pH range. Cl− promoted the system to degrade OFL, while the presence of SO42−, H2PO4− and HA showed some inhibition, but overall the 3CPC-Mt-p catalysts had a strong anti-interference ability, showing good application prospects. The quenching experiments and EPR tests showed that O2−- and 1O2 in the 3CPC-Mt-p/PMS system were the main reactive oxygen species for the degradation of OFL, and •OH was also involved in the reaction. This study provides ideas for the construction and modulation of active sites in mineral materials such as montmorillonite and broadens the application of montmorillonite composite catalysts in advanced oxidation processes for the treatment of antibiotic wastewater.

Salvia miltiorrhiz, commonly known as “Danshen” in Chinese medicine, has longstanding history of application in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Renowned for its diverse therapeutic properties, including promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, calming the mind, tonifying the blood, and benefiting the “Qi”, recent studies have revealed its significant positive effects on bone metabolism. This potential has garnered attention for its promising role in treating musculoskeletal disorders. Consequently, there is a high anticipation for a comprehensive review of the potential of Salvia miltiorrhiza in the treatment of various musculoskeletal diseases, effectively introducing an established traditional Chinese medicine into a burgeoning field. Aim of the review: Musculoskeletal diseases (MSDs) present significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide. Previous studies have demonstrated the high efficacy and prospects of Salvia miltiorrhiza and its active ingredients for treatment of MSDs. This review aims to illuminate the newfound applications of Salvia miltiorrhiza and its active ingredients in the treatment of various MSDs, effectively bridging the gap between an established medicine and an emerging field. Methods: In this review, previous studies related to Salvia miltiorrhiza and its active ingredients on the treatment of MSD were collected, the specific active ingredients of Salvia miltiorrhiza were summarized, the effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza and its active ingredients for the treatment of MSDs, as well as their potential molecular mechanisms were reviewed and discussed. Results: Based on previous publications, Salvianolic acid A, salvianolic acid B, tanshinone IIA are the representative active ingredients of Salvia miltiorrhiza. Their application has shown significant beneficial outcomes in osteoporosis, fractures, and arthritis. Salvia miltiorrhiza and its active ingredients protect against MSDs by regulating different signaling pathways, including ROS, Wnt, MAPK, and NF-κB signaling. Conclusion: Salvia miltiorrhiza and its active ingredients demonstrate promising potential for bone diseases and have been explored across a wide variety of MSDs. Further exploration of Salvia miltiorrhiza’s pharmacological applications in MSDs holds great promise for advancing therapeutic interventions and improving the lives of patients suffering from these diseases.

Binary options have a payoff that is either a fixed value or nothing at all. In this paper, the generalized pricing formulas of binary options, including European binary call options, European binary put options, American binary call options and American binary put options, are investigated in uncertain financial markets. By applying the Liu's stock model to describe the stock price, the explicit pricing formulas of binary options are derived successfully. Besides, the corresponding numerical examples for the above four kinds of binary options are discussed in this paper.

To obtain high-strength joints suitable for three-dimensional (3D) packaging, SiC nanowires (NWs) were doped to the Sn1.0Ag0.5Cu (SAC105) solder, and the conventional Cu substrate was replaced with nanocrystalline (NC) Cu to form Cu/solder/NC Cu solder joints. It was found that the application of SiC NWs and NC Cu had an essential effect on the evolution and growth kinetics of the solder joint interface. The formation of intermetallic compounds (IMC) bridging and full-IMC joints at the interface was delayed. The absorption effect of SiC NWs and numerous nucleation sites provided by NC Cu resulted in a notable reduction in interfacial IMC grains size and interfacial Cu3Sn IMC layer thickness. In addition, the Cu/SAC105-SiC/NC Cu solder joint exhibited the highest shear strength. On the one hand, SiC NWs were incorporated into Cu6Sn5 IMC grains to form the reinforced concrete structure. On the other hand, NC Cu provided more fine Cu6Sn5 IMC grains for the interface. Combined with the analysis of the fracture morphology, it can be concluded that the combination of SiC NWs and NC Cu substrate substantially improved the mechanical properties of the solder joints.

This paper mainly discusses the pricing problems of power-barrier option in uncertain financial market. The fluctuation of stock price is regarded as an uncertain process and the interest rate is floating. The uncertain differential equation is invoked to simulate this fluctuation in an uncertain environment. Then, the clear pricing formulas of power-barrier option are given. Finally, the corresponding numerical examples and a real data example are put forward to illustrate the method.

Seeds are the most important reproductive organs of higher plants, the beginning and end of a plant’s lifecycle. They are very important to plant growth and development, and also an important factor affecting yield. In this study, genetic analysis and BSA-seq of the F2 population crossed with the large-seeded material ‘J16’ and small-seeded material ‘FJ5’ were carried out, and the seed size locus was initially located within the 1.31 Mb region on chr10. In addition, 2281 F2 plants were used to further reduce the candidate interval to 48.8 Kb. This region contains only one gene encoding the N-acetyltransferase (NAT) protein (Bch10G006400). Transcriptome and expression analysis revealed that the gene was significantly more highly expressed in ‘J16’ than in ‘FJ5’. Variation analysis of Bch10G006400 among parents and 50 chieh-qua germplasms revealed that as well as a nonsynonymous mutation (SNP_314) between parents, two mutations (SNP_400 and InDel_551) were detected in other materials. Combining these three mutations completely distinguished the seed size of the chieh-qua. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses revealed that DGEs played the most important roles in carbohydrate metabolism and plant hormone signal transduction, respectively. The results of this study provide important information for molecular marker-assisted breeding and help to reveal the molecular mechanism of seed size.

Background: Osteopenia and fragile fractures are diabetes-associated complications. Many hypoglycemic drugs have effects on bone metabolism. Metformin, as is a prescribed medication for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), had been reported to have osteoprotective effects beyond its hypoglycemic effect, however the potential mechanism behind these effects remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the comprehensive effects of metformin on bone metabolism in T2DM rat model and elucidate the potential mechanism. Methods: Goto-Kakizaki spontaneous T2DM rats with significant hyperglycemia were treated with/without metformin for 20 weeks. Glucose tolerance was tested and all rats were weighed every two weeks. The osteoprotective effects of metformin in diabetic rats were determined by quantifying serum bone biomarkers, μ-CT imaging, histological staining, bone histomorphometry, and biomechanical properties analyses. Potential targets of metformin in the treatment of T2DM and osteoporosis were predicted using network pharmacology. The effects of metformin on mesenchymal stem cells (C3H10) cultured in high glucose medium were evaluated by CCK-8 assay, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining, qPCR and western blotting. Results: This study demonstrated that metformin significantly attenuated osteopenia, decreased serum glucose and glycated serum protein (GSP) levels, improved bone microarchitecture, and biomechanical properties in GK rats with T2DM. Metformin significantly increased biomarkers of bone formation, and significantly decreased muscle ubiquitin C (Ubc) expression. Network pharmacology analysis found that signal transducer and activator of transcription1 (STAT1) would be a potential target of metformin for regulating bone metabolism. Metformin increased C3H10 ​cell viability in vitro, alleviated ALP inhibition caused by hyperglycemia, increased the osteogenic gene expression of runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2), collagen type I alpha 1 (Col1a1), osteocalcin (OCN), and ALP, while suppressing RAGE and STAT1 expression. Metformin also increased the protein expression of Osterix and decreased that of RAGE, p-JAK2, and p-STAT1. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that metformin attenuated osteopenia and improved bone microarchitecture in GK rats with T2DM and significantly promoted stem cell osteogenic differentiation under high glucose condition. The effects of metformin on bone metabolism are closely associated with the suppression of RAGE-JAK2-STAT1 signaling axis. The translational potential of this article: Our research provides experiment evidence and potential mechanistic rationale for the use of metformin as an effective candidate for diabetes-induced osteopenia treatment.

【Objective】Genetic analysis of major gene and polygenes was conducted on the length, width, and quality of Chieh-qua seeds to study the genetic rules of seed size and select high-quality Chieh-qua varieties.【Method】Chieh-qua inbred line J16 (big seed) was used as female parent and 18FJ5 (small seed) as male parent to hybridize, and the length, width and seed quality of F2 generation seeds were determined. What's more, the optimal genetic model and genetic law of each trait were obtained by using the mixed model of main gene+polygene.【Result】The most suitable genetic model for Chieh-qua seed length and width was MX2-ADI-AD, that is, two pairs of additive-dominant-epistatic main genes+additive-dominant polygenes genetic model, with the main gene heritability of 87.07% and 90.79%, respectively, and the polygene heritability of both was 0. The most suitable genetic model for the quality of 30 seeds was MX1-AD-ADI, that is, a pair of additive-dominant major genes+additive-dominant-epistatic polygenes genetic model, with the heritability of major genes and polygenes being 79.96% and 8.73%, respectively.【Conclusion】The major gene heritability of the above traits is far greater than the polygene heritability, and the main gene inheritance is dominant. Therefore, in the process of high-quality breeding of Chieh-qua, we should pay attention to the use of major genes, which can be selected in the early generation.

The existing singularity avoidance methods have deficiencies, such as the conditionality of the online conversion of the assembly modes (AMs) and the kinematically redundant manipulator with the predicament of the prototype design and added complexity of the mechanism. To address these issues, a method to determine a singularity-free inner workspace through offline conversion of the AMs of the 3-RRR planar parallel manipulator (PPM) is presented. Based on the geometric relations among rods of the manipulator during the occurrence of singularity, and the singular points at or near the boundary of the workspace are permitted, the AMs and ranges of the orientation angle of the moving platform corresponding to the inner singularity-free workspace are determined through a three-dimensional search method. The simulation and experimental comparisons indicate that singular-free paths related to the constant or variable orientation angle of the moving platform can be planned on the singularity-free inner workspace.

Abstract Distributed scheduling is seldom investigated in hybrid flow shops. In this study, distributed two-stage hybrid flow shop scheduling problem (DTHFSP) with sequence-dependent setup times is considered. A collaborative variable neighborhood search (CVNS) is proposed to simultaneously minimize total tardiness and makespan. DTHFSP is simplified by incorporating factory assignment into machine assignment of a prefixed stage, and its solution is newly represented with a machine assignment string and a scheduling string. CVNS consists of two cooperated variable neighborhood search (VNS) algorithms, and neighborhood structures and global search have collaborated in each VNS. Eight neighborhood structures and two global search operators are defined to produce new solutions. The current solution is periodically replaced with a member of the archive farthest from it. Experiments are conducted , and the computational results validate that CVNS has good advantages over the considered DTHFSP.

Clay brick masonry unit (CBMU) walls are widely used in building structures, and its damage and protection under explosion loads have been a matter of concern in the field of engineering protection. In this paper, a series of full-scale experiments of the response characteristics of 24 cm CMBU walls unreinforced and reinforced with polyurea elastomer subjected to blast loading were carried out. Through setting 5.0 kg TNT charges at different stand-off distances, the damage characteristics of masonry walls at different scaled distances were obtained. The reinforcement effect of different polyurea coating thicknesses and methods on the blast resistance performance of masonry walls under single and repeated loads were also explored. Five failure grades were summarized according to the dynamic response features of masonry walls. Based on the stress wave propagation pattern in multi-media composite structures, the internal stress distribution of masonry walls were analyzed, and the division basis of the masonry walls’ failure grades was then quantified. Combined with Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) images, the deformation characteristics of soft and hard segments of polyurea and effects of detonation products on microstructures were revealed respectively, which provides an important reference for the design and application of polyurea in the blast resistance of clay brick masonry walls.

The increasing presence of pollutants such as engineered nanoparticles (ENPs) and nanoplastics (NPLs) poses potential risks to the marine environment. However, there is a scarcity of information on their joint toxic effects. In this study, we investigated the toxicity of copper oxide nanoparticles (nCuO) combined with polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPLs) on the marine microalgae Platymonas helgolandica var. tsingtaoensis. The inhibitory effect of nCuO increased with increasing concentrations, and nCuO ≥ 100 mg/L significantly restrained the growth and chlorophyll content of microalgae. nCuO could be adsorbed by algal cells, which was responsible for membrane lipid oxidation and the disruption of membrane permeability. Simultaneous exposure to nCuO and PS-NPLs had a.n antagonistic effect on the growth inhibition of the microalgae, and nCuO played a leading role in the joint toxicity of nCuO and PS-NPLs. In comparison to nCuO exposure alone, combined exposure decreased the oxidative stress and alleviated the increase in the cell membrane permeability of microalgae. PS-NPLs could heteroaggregate with nCuO, which reduced the interaction between nCuO and microalgae, inducing decreased joint toxicity. Findings of this study will clarify our understanding of the joint toxicity of ENPs and NPLs.

Copper is the most common interconnecting material in the field of microelectronic packaging, which is widely used in advanced electronic packaging technologies. However, with the trend of the miniaturization of electronic devices, the dimensions of interconnectors have decreased from hundreds of microns to tens of or even several microns, which has brought serious reliability issues. As a result, nanotwinned copper (nt-Cu) has been proposed as a potential candidate material and is being certified progressively. Firstly, the physical properties of nt-Cu have been widely studied. Notably, the higher thermal stability and oxidation resistance of the (111) texture causes nt-Cu to maintain excellent physical properties under high-temperature serving conditions. Secondly, recent works on the electrolyte and electroplating processes of nt-Cu on wafer substrates are summarized, focusing on how to reduce the thickness of the transition layer, improve the twin density, and achieve complicated pattern filling. Thirdly, nt-Cu can effectively eliminate Kirkendall voids when it serves as UBM or a CuP. Additionally, the high (111) texture can control the preferred orientation of interfacial intermetallic compounds (IMCs) at the Cu–Sn interface, which should be helpful to improve the reliability of solder joints. nt-Cu has superior electromigration resistance and antithermal cycling ability compared to ordinary copper RDLs and TSVs. Above all, nt-Cu has attracted much attention in the field of microelectronic packaging in recent years. The preparation–performance–reliability interrelationship of nt-Cu is summarized and displayed in this paper, which provides a solid theoretical basis for its practical applications.

Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by aberrant accumulation of extracellular β-amyloid (Aβ) peptides in the brain. Soluble Aβ oligomers are thought to be the most neurotoxic species and are correlated with cognitive dysfunction in early AD. However, there is still no effective treatment so far. We determined that Pep63, a small peptide, had a neuroprotective effect on synaptic plasticity and memory in our previous study. Here, we developed novel and multifunctional liposomes targeting both Aβ oligomers and fibrils based on a liposome delivery system. Transferrin-Pep63-liposomes (Tf-Pep63-Lip), possessing the ability for blood-brain barrier targeting, were also incorporated with phosphatidic acid (PA) and loaded with neuroprotective Pep63. We discovered that administration of Tf-Pep63-Lip could significantly reduce the Aβ burden in the hippocampus, and improve cognitive deficits in 6-month-old APP/PS1 mice in the Morris-Water maze task and fear-conditioning test with the combined effects of PA and Pep63. Tf-Pep63-Lip could capture Aβ oligomers or fibrils and then facilitated microglial chemotaxis nearby for clearance. Simultaneously, Tf-Pep63-Lip hindered Aβ1-42 aggregation and disaggregated Aβ1-42 assembly due to multivalent PA-Aβ. Pep63 effectively inhibited the binding between EphB2 and Aβ oligomers after release from liposomes and rescued NMDA receptors trafficking, the basis of synaptic plasticity. No side effects were observed in either APP/PS1 or wild-type mice, indicating that Tf-Pep63-Lip might be safe under the dosing regimen used in our experiment. Taken together, our results suggested that Tf-Pep63-Lip may serve as a safe and efficient agent for AD combination therapy.

IntroductionRecent advancements in radiotherapy (RT) have allowed for the integration of a Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging scanner with a medical linear accelerator to use MR images for image guidance to position tumors against the treatment beam. Undersampling in MR acquisition is desired to accelerate the imaging process, but unavoidably deteriorates the reconstructed image quality. In RT, a high-quality MR image of a patient is available for treatment planning. In light of this unique clinical scenario, we proposed to exploit the patient-specific image prior to facilitate high-quality MR image reconstruction.MethodsUtilizing the planning MR image, we established a deep auto-encoder to form a manifold of image patches of the patient. The trained manifold was then incorporated as a regularization to restore MR images of the same patient from undersampled data. We performed a simulation study using a patient case, a real patient study with three liver cancer patient cases, and a phantom experimental study using data acquired on an in-house small animal MR scanner. We compared the performance of the proposed method with those of the Fourier transform method, a tight-frame based Compressive Sensing method, and a deep learning method with a patient-generic manifold as the image prior.ResultsIn the simulation study with 12.5% radial undersampling and 15% increase in noise, our method improved peak-signal-to-noise ratio by 4.46dB and structural similarity index measure by 28% compared to the patient-generic manifold method. In the experimental study, our method outperformed others by producing reconstructions of visually improved image quality.

Abstract Circular RNAs (circRNAs) appear to be significant modulators in various physiological processes. Recently, it is found that circRNA_101996 exerts important roles in various cancers. Our previous studies showed that circRNA_101996 promoted cervical cancer growth and metastasis by regulating miR‐8075/TPX2. However, the potential regulatory role of circRNA_101996 in cervical cancer still needs further investigation. Our results in this study suggested that circRNA_101996 was over‐expressed in cervical cancer patients. circRNA_101996 up‐regulation remarkably assisted cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, and cell migration in cervical cancer, while circRNA_101996 knockdown exerted the inverse effects. The molecular investigations indicated that circRNA_101996 could increase the expression level of miR‐1236‐3p, tripartite motif‐containing 37 (TRIM37), through binding to miR‐1236‐3p and reducing its expression. Moreover, in vivo results demonstrated that circRNA_101996 shRNA can function as a tumor suppressor through down‐regulating TRIM37 in cervical cancer. In conclusion, our data indicated that circRNA_101996/miR‐1236‐3p/TRIM37 axis accelerated cervical cancer development, providing novel insights into cervical cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract Background Sarcopenia has recently emerged as a new condition with increasing importance in lung cancer patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of sarcopenia on tolerance and efficacy of afatinib. Methods We retrospectively evaluated 35 patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutant advanced non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with first‐line afatinib. Skeletal muscle area (SMA) was measured at the third lumbar vertebra using routine conducted computed tomography (CT) images for evaluation of disease burden. Sarcopenia was defined as skeletal muscle index (SMI = SMA/height2) ≤38.5 cm2/m2 for women and ≤52.4 cm2/m2 for men based on previous criteria. Fisher's exact tests, Kaplan–Meier method, and logistic regression modeling were used. Results The median age at diagnosis was 65 years (range,39–84 years). A total of 24 (68.6%) patients were diagnosed with sarcopenia. The most frequent adverse events (AEs) related to afatinib were diarrhea (94.3%) followed by rash (77.1%) and paronychia (60%). Overall, 19 (54.3%) patients had dose reduction. Sarcopenic patients had a significantly higher rate of grade ≥ 2 diarrhea (75.0 vs. 27.3%, p = 0.011) and toxicity‐related dose reduction (75.0 vs. 9.1%, p = 0.001). Multivariate analysis also showed that sarcopenia (odds ratio [OR] 51.7, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 2.4–1081.3, p = 0.01) was an independent risk factor for dose reduction of afatinib. The median progression‐free survival (PFS) for afatinib was 12.0 months (95% CI: 10.6–13.4). Both dose reduction and sarcopenia did not affect therapeutic efficacy. Conclusions Toxicity‐related dose reduction is common with initiation of afatinib 40 mg/day. Sarcopenic patients might begin treatment with a low dose of afatinib according to tolerance.

The biggest challenge of texture filtering is to smooth the strong gradient textures while maintaining the weak structures, which is difficult to achieve with current methods. Based on this, we propose a scale-adaptive texture filtering algorithm in this paper. First, the four-directional detection with gradient information is proposed for structure measurement. Second, the spatial kernel scale for each pixel is obtained based on the structure information; the larger spatial kernel is for pixels in textural regions to enhance the smoothness, while the smaller spatial kernel is for pixels on structures to maintain the edges. Finally, we adopt the Fourier approximation of range kernel, which reduces computational complexity without compromising the filtering visual quality. By subjective and objective analysis, our method outperforms the previous methods in eliminating the textures while preserving main structures and also has advantages in structure similarity and visual perception quality.

Abstract Linear magnetoresistance (LMR) is a special case of a magnetic-field induced resistivity response, which has been reported in highly disordered semiconductor systems and in topological materials. In this work, we observe LMR effect in half-metallic perovskite Sr2CrMoO6 thin films, of which the maximum MR value exceeds +1600% at 2 K and 14 T. It is an unusual behavior in ferrimagnetic double perovskite material like Sr2CrMoO6, which are known for intrinsic tunneling-type negative magnetoresistance. In the thin films, the high carriers’ density (~1022 cm−3) and ultrahigh mobility (~104 cm2 V−1 s−1) provide a low-resistivity (~10 nΩ·cm) platform for spin-polarized current. Our DFT calculations and magnetic measurements further support the half-metal band structure. The LMR effect in Sr2CrMoO6 could possibly originate from transport behavior that is governed by the guiding center motion of cyclotron orbitals, where the magnetic domain structure possibly provides disordered potential. The ultrahigh mobility and LMR in this system could broaden the applications of perovskites, and introduce more research on metallic oxide ferri-/ferro-magnetic materials.

Low-light image enhancement (LLIE) enables to serve high-level vision tasks and improve their efficiency. Retinex-based methods have well been recognized as a representative technique for LLIE, but they still suffer from inflexible regularization terms in decomposing illumination and reflectance. In this paper, we propose a new weighted fractional-order variational model based on the Retinex model. First, the constructed weighted fractional-order variational model estimates piecewise smoothed and weakly pixel-shifted illumination by aware structures and textures. Then, to solve this problem accurately, we chose a semi-decoupled approach and an alternating minimization method. Finally, the designed multi-illumination fusion method accurately enhances the structure-rich dark regions of the image through well-exposedness and local entropy weights, while realizing adaptive enhancement based on a naturalness-preserving parameter estimation algorithm. The results of subjective and objective experiments on several challenging low-light datasets demonstrate that our proposed method shows better competitiveness in enhancing low-light images compared with the state-of-the-art methods. It is becoming increasingly important for marketers to use online broadcast media and interactive media simultaneously. In this paper, three studies were conducted to explain the mechanism inherent in a synergistic effect. We ran Study 1 to test the synergistic effect of online broadcast media and interactive media on purchase behavior. We conducted Study 2 (synergistic vs. non-synergistic groups) to test the differences between the groups. Study 2 was a 2 (interference vs. no interference terms) × 2 (synergistic vs. non-synergistic groups) experiment to test whether the interaction between online broadcast media and interactive media is a necessary condition for the synergistic effect. Finally, Study 3 was conducted to test the difference in the level of information processing between online broadcast media and interactive media as a necessary condition for the synergistic effect. We designed a 2 (questioning vs. not questioning) × 2 (synergistic vs. non-synergistic groups) experiment to examine the difference between the groups. The results show that online broadcast media and interactive media have a synergistic effect on consumer purchase intention and memory. Study 1 shows that participants in the synergistic group had a higher purchase intention than participants in the non-synergistic group. Study 2 revealed a significant cognition interaction effect on product memory between online broadcast media and interactive media. Finally, in Study 3, the difference in the information processing level between broadcast media and interactive media had a significant synergistic effect on product memory.

Abstract In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province; and then named “2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)” by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development; we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control (including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. This rapid advice guideline is suitable for the first frontline doctors and nurses, managers of hospitals and healthcare sections, community residents, public health persons, relevant researchers, and all person who are interested in the 2019-nCoV.

Abstract Background The merging of two divergent genomes during hybridization can result in the remodeling of parental gene expression in hybrids. A molecular basis underling expression change in hybrid is regulatory divergence, which may change with the parental genetic divergence. However, there still no unanimous conclusion for this hypothesis. Results Three species of Camellia with a range of genetic divergence and their F1 hybrids were used to study the effect of parental genetic divergence on gene expression and regulatory patterns in hybrids by RNA-sequencing and allelic expression analysis. We found that though the proportion of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the hybrids and their parents did not increase, a greater proportion of DEGs would be non-additively (especially transgressively) expressed in the hybrids as genomes between the parents become more divergent. In addition, the proportion of genes with significant evidence of cis-regulatory divergence increased, whereas with trans-regulatory divergence decreased with parental genetic divergence. Conclusions The discordance within hybrid would intensify as the parents become more divergent, manifesting as more DEGs would be non-additively expressed. Trans-regulatory divergence contributed more to the additively inherited genes than cis, however, its contribution to expression difference would be weakened as cis mutations accumulated over time; and this might be an important reason for that the more divergent the parents are, the greater proportion of DEGs would be non-additively expressed in hybrid.
