Abstract: In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $\gamma$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. Abstract: The KM2A is the largest sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). It consists of 5216 electromagnetic particle detectors (EDs) and 1188 muon detectors (MDs). The data recorded by the EDs and MDs are used to reconstruct primary information of cosmic ray and gamma-ray showers. This information is used for physical analysis in gamma-ray astronomy and cosmic ray physics. To ensure the reliability of the LHAASO-KM2A data, a three-level quality control system has been established. It is used to monitor the status of detector units, stability of reconstructed parameters and the performance of the array based on observations of the Crab Nebula and Moon shadow. This paper will introduce the control system and its application on the LHAASO-KM2A data collected from August 2021 to July 2023. During this period, the pointing and angular resolution of the array were stable. From the observations of the Moon shadow and Crab Nebula, the results achieved using the two methods are consistent with each other. According to the observation of the Crab Nebula at energies from 25 TeV to 100 TeV, the time averaged pointing errors are estimated to be $-0.003^{\circ} \pm 0.005^{\circ}$ and $0.001^{\circ} \pm 0.006^{\circ}$ in the R.A. and Dec directions, respectively., Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures

Abstract: The first source catalog of Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory reported the detection of a very-high-energy gamma ray source, 1LHAASO J1219+2915. In this paper a further detailed study of the spectral and temporal behavior of this point-like source have been carried. The best-fit position of the TeV source ($\rm{RA}=185.05^{\circ}\pm0.04^{\circ}$, $\rm{Dec}=29.25^{\circ}\pm0.03^{\circ}$) is compatible with NGC 4278 within $\sim0.03$ degree. Variation analysis shows an indication of the variability at a few months level in the TeV band, which is consistent with low frequency observations. Based on these observations, we report the detection of TeV $\gamma$-ray emissions from this low-luminosity AGN NGC 4278. The observations by LHAASO-WCDA during active period has a significance level of 8.8\,$\sigma$ with best-fit photon spectral index $\varGamma=2.56\pm0.14$ and a flux $f_{1-10\,\rm{TeV}}=(7.0\pm1.1_{\rm{sta}}\pm0.35_{\rm{syst}})\times10^{-13}\,\rm{photons\,cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$, or approximately $5\%$ of the Crab Nebula. The discovery of VHE from NGC 4278 indicates that the compact, weak radio jet can efficiently accelerate particles and emit TeV photons., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: KM2A is one of the main sub-arrays of LHAASO, working on gamma ray astronomy and cosmic ray physics at energies above 10 TeV. Detector simulation is the important foundation for estimating detector performance and data analysis. It is a big challenge to simulate the KM2A detector in the framework of Geant4 due to the need to track numerous photons from a large number of detector units (>6000) with large altitude difference (30 m) and huge coverage (1.3 km^2). In this paper, the design of the KM2A simulation code G4KM2A based on Geant4 is introduced. The process of G4KM2A is optimized mainly in memory consumption to avoid memory overffow. Some simpliffcations are used to signiffcantly speed up the execution of G4KM2A. The running time is reduced by at least 30 times compared to full detector simulation. The particle distributions and the core/angle resolution comparison between simulation and experimental data of the full KM2A array are also presented, which show good agreement.

Abstract: We present the measurements of all-particle energy spectrum and mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays in the energy range of 0.3-30 PeV using data collected from LHAASO-KM2A between September 2021 and December 2022, which is based on a nearly composition-independent energy reconstruction method, achieving unprecedented accuracy. Our analysis reveals the position of the knee at $3.67 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.15$ PeV. Below the knee, the spectral index is found to be -$2.7413 \pm 0.0004 \pm 0.0050$, while above the knee, it is -$3.128 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.027$, with the sharpness of the transition measured with a statistical error of 2%. The mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays is almost heavier than helium in the whole measured energy range. It decreases from 1.7 at 0.3 PeV to 1.3 at 3 PeV, representing a 24% decline following a power law with an index of -$0.1200 \pm 0.0003 \pm 0.0341$. This is equivalent to an increase in abundance of light components. Above the knee, the mean logarithmic mass exhibits a power law trend towards heavier components, which is reversal to the behavior observed in the all-particle energy spectrum. Additionally, the knee position and the change in power-law index are approximately the same. These findings suggest that the knee observed in the all-particle spectrum corresponds to the knee of the light component, rather than the medium-heavy components., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: For decades, supernova remnants (SNRs) have been considered the prime sources of Galactic Cosmic rays (CRs). But whether SNRs can accelerate CR protons to PeV energies and thus dominate CR flux up to the knee is currently under intensive theoretical and phenomenological debate. The direct test of the ability of SNRs to operate as CR PeVatrons can be provided by ultrahigh-energy (UHE; $E_\gamma \geq 100$~TeV) $\gamma$-rays. In this context, the historical SNR Cassiopeia A (Cas A) is considered one of the most promising target for UHE observations. This paper presents the observation of Cas A and its vicinity by the LHAASO KM2A detector. The exceptional sensitivity of LHAASO KM2A in the UHE band, combined with the young age of Cas A, enabled us to derive stringent model-independent limits on the energy budget of UHE protons and nuclei accelerated by Cas A at any epoch after the explosion. Abstract: The highest energy gamma-rays from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have important implications for their radiation mechanism. Here we report for the first time the detection of gamma-rays up to 13 TeV from the brightest GRB 221009A by the Large High Altitude Air-shower Observatory (LHAASO). The LHAASO-KM2A detector registered more than 140 gamma-rays with energies above 3 TeV during 230$-$900s after the trigger. The intrinsic energy spectrum of gamma-rays can be described by a power-law after correcting for extragalactic background light (EBL) absorption. Such a hard spectrum challenges the synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) scenario of relativistic electrons for the afterglow emission above several TeV. Observations of gamma-rays up to 13 TeV from a source with a measured redshift of z=0.151 hints more transparency in intergalactic space than previously expected. Abstract: We present the first catalog of very-high energy and ultra-high energy gamma-ray sources detected by the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). The catalog was compiled using 508 days of data collected by the Water Cherenkov Detector Array (WCDA) from March 2021 to September 2022 and 933 days of data recorded by the Kilometer Squared Array (KM2A) from January 2020 to September 2022. This catalog represents the main result from the most sensitive large coverage gamma-ray survey of the sky above 1 TeV, covering declination from $-$20$^{\circ}$ to 80$^{\circ}$. In total, the catalog contains 90 sources with an extended size smaller than $2^\circ$ and a significance of detection at $> 5\sigma$. Based on our source association criteria, 32 new TeV sources are proposed in this study. Among the 90 sources, 43 sources are detected with ultra-high energy ($E > 100$ TeV) emission at $> 4\sigma$ significance level. Abstract: The diffuse Galactic $\gamma$-ray emission, mainly produced via interactions between cosmic rays and the interstellar medium and/or radiation field, is a very important probe of the distribution, propagation, and interaction of cosmic rays in the Milky Way. In this work we report the measurements of diffuse $\gamma$-rays from the Galactic plane between 10 TeV and 1 PeV energies, with the square kilometer array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). Diffuse emissions from the inner ($15^{\circ}10$~TeV). The energy spectrum in the inner Galaxy regions can be described by a power-law function with an index of $-2.99\pm0.04$, which is different from the curved spectrum as expected from hadronic interactions between locally measured cosmic rays and the line-of-sight integrated gas content. Furthermore, the measured flux is higher by a factor of $\sim3$ than the prediction. A similar spectrum with an index of $-2.99\pm0.07$ is found in the outer Galaxy region, and the absolute flux for $10\lesssim E\lesssim60$ TeV is again higher than the prediction for hadronic cosmic ray interactions. The latitude distributions of the diffuse emission are consistent with the gas distribution, while the longitude distributions show clear deviation from the gas distribution. Abstract: In cross-beam energy transfer (CBET), the interference of two laser beams ponderomotively drives an ion-acoustic wave that coherently scatters light from one beam into the other. This redirection of laser beam energy can severely inhibit the performance of direct-drive inertial confinement fusion (ICF) implosions. To assess the role of nonlinear and kinetic processes in direct-drive-relevant CBET, the energy transfer between two laser beams in the plasma conditions of an ICF implosion at the OMEGA laser facility was modeled using particle-in-cell simulations. For typical laser beam intensities, the simulations are in excellent agreement with linear kinetic theory, indicating that nonlinear processes do not play a role in direct-drive implosions. At higher intensities, CBET can be modified by pump depletion, backward stimulated Raman scattering, or ion trapping, depending on the plasma density.

However, despite the promising results of this approach, there is still a lack of understanding of the specific relationship between nerve cells and functional mitochondria.Methods: Functional mitochondria (F-Mito) were isolated from bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs). The ability of microglia cells to internalize F-Mito was evaluated using a middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model in C57BL/6J mice and an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) cell model. After OGD/R and F-Mito treatment, the temporal dynamics of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were examined.The relationship between ROS levels and F-Mito uptake was assessed at the individual cell level using MitoSOX, Mitotracker, and HIF-1α labeling.Results: Our findings indicate that microglia cells exhibit enhanced mitochondrial uptake compared to astrocytes. Furthermore, internalized F-Mito reduced ROS levels and HIF-1α levels. Importantly, we found that the ROS response in microglia cells following ischemia is a critical regulator of F-Mito internalization, and promoting autophagy in microglia cells might reduce the uptake of ROS and HIF-1α levels.Conclusion: It is verified that F-Mito derived from BMSCs play a protective role in ischemia-reperfusion injury, as their weakening reduces microglial cell activation and alleviates neuroinflammation.Keywords: neuroinflammation, ROS, stem cell, HIF-1α, ischemic stroke

13. Hydrodynamics of multi-component Bosonic systems

Abstract: We obtain the superfluid hydrodynamic equations of a multi-component Bose gas with short-ranged interactions at zero temperature under the local equilibrium assumption and show that the quantum pressure is generally present in the nonuniform case. Our approach can be extended to systems with long-range interactions such as dipole-dipole interactions by treating the Hartree energy properly. For a highly symmetric superfluid, we obtain the excitation spectrum and show that except for the density phonon, all other excitations are all degenerate.The implication of our results is discussed.

Abstract: The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) has three sub-arrays, KM2A, WCDA and WFCTA. The flux variations of cosmic ray air showers were studied by analyzing the KM2A data during the thunderstorm on 10 June 2021. The number of shower events that meet the trigger conditions increases significantly in atmospheric electric fields, with maximum fractional increase of 20%. The variations of trigger rates (increases or decreases) are found to be strongly dependent on the primary zenith angle. The flux of secondary particles increases significantly, following a similar trend with that of the shower events. To better understand the observed behavior, Monte Carlo simulations are performed with CORSIKA and G4KM2A (a code based on GEANT4). We find that the experimental data (in saturated negative fields) are in good agreement with simulations, assuming the presence of a uniform upward electric field of 700 V/cm with a thickness of 1500 m in the atmosphere above the observation level. Due to the acceleration/deceleration and deflection by the atmospheric electric field, the number of secondary particles with energy above the detector threshold is modified, resulting in the changes in shower detection rate., Comment: 18 pages, 11 figures

The application of radionuclides has been developing as an increasing number of nanomaterials are used to deliver radionuclides to tumor areas to kill tumor cells. However, promoting the efficient combination of radionuclides and nanocarriers (NCs), enhancing radionuclide loading efficiency, and avoiding environmental pollution caused by radionuclide overuse are important challenges that hinder their further development.Methods: In the present study, a new small molecule compound (3-[[(2S)-2-hydroxy-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-1-carbonyl] amino]-alanine, abbreviation: HN, molecular formula: C12H16N2O5) was synthesized as a linker between radionuclide iodine-125 (125I) and NCs to enable a more efficient binding between NCs and radionuclides.Results: In vitro evidence indicated that the linker was able to bind 125I with higher efficiency (labeling efficiency > 80%) than that of tyrosine, as well as various NCs, such as cellulose nanofibers, metal oxide NCs, and graphene oxide. Abstract: Destructive interference of electron hopping on the frustrated kagome lattice generates Dirac nodes, saddle points, and flat bands in the electronic structure. The latter provides the narrow bands and a peak in the density of states that can generate correlated electron behavior when the Fermi level lies within them. In the kagome metal CoSn, this alignment is not realized, and the compound is a Pauli paramagnet. Here we show that replacing part of the tin with indium (CoSn1-xInx) moves the Fermi energy into the flat band region, with support from band structure calculations, heat capacity measurements, and angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The associated instability results in the emergence of itinerant antiferromagnetism with a Neel temperature up to 30K. Long range magnetic order is confirmed by neutron diffraction measurements, which indicate an ordered magnetic moment of 0.1-0.2 Bohr magnetons per Co (for x = 0.4). Thus, CoSn1-xInx provides a rare example of an itinerant antiferromagnet with a small ordered moment. This work provides clear evidence that flat bands arising from frustrated lattices in bulk crystals represent a viable route to new physics, evidenced here by the emergence of magnetic order upon introducing a non-magnetic dopant into a non-magnetic kagome metal.

Abstract: The Crab pulsar and the surrounding nebula powered by the pulsar's rotational energy through the formation and termination of a relativistic electron-positron wind is a bright source of gamma-rays carrying crucial information about this complex conglomerate. We report the detection of $\gamma$-rays with a spectrum showing gradual steepening over three energy decades, from $5\times 10^{-4}$ to $1.1$ petaelectronvolt (PeV). The ultra-high-energy photons exhibit the presence of a PeV electron accelerator (a pevatron) with an acceleration rate exceeding 15% of the absolute theoretical limit. Assuming that unpulsed $\gamma$-rays are produced at the termination of the pulsar's wind, we constrain the pevatron's size, between $0.025$ and $0.1$ pc, and the magnetic field $\approx 110 \mu$G. Abstract: The performance of direct-drive inertial confinement fusion implosions relies critically on the coupling of laser energy to the target plasma. Cross-beam energy transfer (CBET), the resonant exchange of energy between intersecting laser beams mediated by ponderomotively driven ion-acoustic waves (IAW), inhibits this coupling by scattering light into unwanted directions. The variety of beam intersection angles and varying plasma conditions in an implosion results in IAWs with a range of phase velocities. Here we show that CBET saturates through a resonance detuning that depends on the IAW phase velocity and that results from trapping-induced modifications to the ion distribution functions. For smaller phase velocities, the modifications to the distribution functions can rapidly thermalize in the presence of mid-Z ions, leading to a blueshift in the resonant frequency. For larger phase velocities, the modifications can persist, leading to a redshift in the resonant frequency. Ultimately, these results may reveal pathways towards CBET mitigation and inform reduced models for radiation hydrodynamics codes to improve their predictive capability.

Abstract: The Wide Field-of-View Cherenkov Telescope Array (WFCTA) and the Water Cherenkov Detector Arrays (WCDA) of LHAASO are designed to work in combination for measuring the energy spectra of various cosmic ray species over a very wide energy range from a few TeV to 10 PeV. The energy calibration of WCDA can be achieved with a proven technique of measuring the westward shift of the Moon shadow of galactic cosmic rays due to the geomagnetic field. This deflection angle $\Delta$ is inversely proportional to the energy of the cosmic rays. The precise measurements of the shifts by WCDA allows us to calibrate its energy scale for energies as high as 35 TeV. The energy scale measured by WCDA can be used to cross calibrate the energy reconstructed by WFCTA, which spans the whole energy range up to 10 PeV. In this work, we will demonstrate the feasibility of the method using the data collected from April 2019 to January 2020 by the WFCTA array and WCDA-1 detector, the first of the three water Cherenkov ponds, already commissioned at LHAASO site.

The low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio, the triacylglycerol-glucose index (TyG) multiplied by body mass index (BMI), and TyG/HDL-C ratio were calculated.Results: The study involved 190 participants, of whom 34 were diagnosed with MAFLD (24 males and 10 females), while 156 did not have MAFLD (64 males and 92 females). Multivariable analysis revealed that aspartate transaminase (AST) (OR=1.216, 95% CI: 1.059– 1.374, P=0.006), blood uric acid (BUA) (OR=1.017, 95% CI: 1.002– 1.032, P=0.022), TyG&ast;BMI (OR=1.231, 95% CI: 1.051– 1.442, P=0.010), and TyG/HDL-C (OR=3.162, 95% CI: 1.228– 8.141, P=0.017) were independently associated with MAFLD. The TyG&ast;BMI index exhibited an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.812, with 91.2% sensitivity and 69.2% specificity for MAFLD. Hence, the etiology and underlying molecular mechanism need to be further investigated.Methods: Three sets of microarray datasets were included from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. The differentially expressed genes in two sets of datasets were analyzed using the R software, and the core genes of UC were screened using machine learning. The sensitivity and specificity of the core genes were evaluated with the receiver operating characteristic curve in another microarray dataset. Subsequently, the CIBERSORT tool was used to analyze the relationship between UC and its core genes and immune cell infiltration. To verify the relationship between UC and core genes and the relationship between core genes and immune cell infiltration in vivo.Results: A total of 36 DEGs were identified. AQP8, HMGCS2, and VNN1 were determined to be the core genes of UC. These genes had high sensitivity and specificity in receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. According to the analysis of immune cell infiltration, neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages were positively correlated with UC. AQP8, HMGCS2, and VNN1 were also correlated with immune cell infiltration to varying degrees. In vivo experiments verified that the expressions of neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages increased in the UC colon. Furthermore, the expressions of AQP8 and HMGCS2 decreased, whereas that of VNN1 increased. Azathioprine treatment improved all the indicators to different degrees.Conclusion: AQP8, HMGCS2, and VNN1 are the core genes of UC and exhibit different degrees of correlation with immune cells. These genes are expected to become new therapeutic targets for UC. Abstract: We have studied the superconducting gap structure of LaPt$_2$Si$_2$ by measuring the temperature dependence of the London penetration depth shift $\Delta\lambda(T)$ and point contact spectroscopy of single crystals. $\Delta\lambda(T)$ shows an exponential temperature dependence at low temperatures, and the derived normalized superfluid density $\rho_{s}(T)$ can be well described by a single-gap s-wave model. The point-contact conductance spectra can also be well fitted by an s-wave Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk model, where the gap value shows a typical BCS temperature and magnetic field dependence consistent with type-II superconductivity. Abstract: The focal plane camera is the core component of the Wide Field-of-view Cherenkov/fluorescence Telescope Array (WFCTA) of the Large High-Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). Because of the capability of working under moonlight without aging, silicon photomultipliers (SiPM) have been proven to be not only an alternative but also an improvement to conventional photomultiplier tubes (PMT) in this application. Eighteen SiPM-based cameras with square light funnels have been built for WFCTA. The telescopes have collected more than 100 million cosmic ray events and preliminary results indicate that these cameras are capable of working under moonlight. The characteristics of the light funnels and SiPMs pose challenges (e.g. dynamic range, dark count rate, assembly techniques). In this paper, we present the design features, manufacturing techniques and performances of these cameras. Abstract: Time reversal symmetry breaking Weyl semimetals are unique among Weyl materials in allowing the minimal number of Weyl points thus offering the clearest signatures of the associated physics. Here we present neutron diffraction, density functional theory and transport measurement results which indicate that EuCd$_2$As$_2$ , under ambient field, strain and pressure, is such a material with a single pair of Weyl points. Our work reveals a magnetic structure (magnetic space group $C2'/m'$) with Eu moments pointing along the [210] direction in-plane and canted $\sim$ 30$^{\circ}$ out-of-plane. Density functional theory calculations using this structure show that the observed canting drastically alters the relevant electronic bands, relative to the in-plane order, leading to a single set of well defined Weyl points. Furthermore, we find the canting angle can tune the distance of the Weyl points above the Fermi level, with the smallest distance at low canting angles. Finally, transport measurements of the anomalous Hall Effect and longitudinal magnetoresistance exhibit properties indicative of a chiral anomaly, thus supporting the neutron scattering and DFT results suggesting EuCd$_2$As$_2$ is close to the ideal situation of the Weyl "Hydrogen atom"., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: As a sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), KM2A is mainly designed to cover a large fraction of the northern sky to hunt for gamma-ray sources at energies above 10 TeV. Even though the detector construction is still underway, a half of the KM2A array has been operating stably since the end of 2019. In this paper, we present the pipeline of KM2A data analysis and the first observation on the Crab Nebula, a standard candle in very high energy gamma-ray astronomy. We detect gamma-ray signals from the Crab Nebula in both energy ranges of 10$-$100 TeV and $>$100 TeV with high significance, by analyzing the KM2A data of 136 live days between December 2019 and May 2020. With the observations, we test the detector performance including angular resolution, pointing accuracy and cosmic ray background rejection power. The energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range 10-250 TeV fits well with a single power-law function dN/dE =(1.13$\pm$0.05$_{stat}$$\pm$0.08$_{sys}$)$\times$10$^{-14}$$\cdot$(E/20TeV)$^{-3.09\pm0.06_{stat}\pm0.02_{sys}}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ TeV$^{-1}$. It is consistent with previous measurements by other experiments. Our study aims to screen and identify miRNAs that are closely related to the development of breast cancer, and explore the role of these miRNAs and their target genes in breast cancer.Methods: Bioinformatics tools were applied to screen breast cancer-associated miRNAs and predict their potential target genes. Serum miRNAs were measured using RT-PCR. The correlation between miRNA expression and different clinicopathological features of BC patients was analyzed. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value. GEPIA, Kaplan-Meier Plotter, TIMER, and TISIDB databases were used to validate the expression levels and their prognostic value, as well as their target gene associated with immune infiltrating cells and immune checkpoints.Results: Breast cancer-associated serum miR-338-3p and miR-501-3p were screened and verified for the first time. Serum miR-501-3p was elevated in BC and was closely linked to the ki-67 index and histological grade. CDKN2C, as a potential target gene of miR-501-3p, was enriched in the cGMP-PKG signaling pathway. Serum miR-338-3p was reduced in BC and was strongly linked to lymph node metastasis and histological grading. ACTR2, CDH1, COL1A1, RBBP5, RRM1, and TPM3, as potential target genes of miR-338-3p, were enriched in MAPK, PI3K-Akt, and RAS signaling pathways. These target genes were found to be linked to breast cancer prognosis, immune infiltrating cells, and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Analysis of ROC curve showed that serum miR-501-3p combined with serum miR-338-3p had a high diagnostic value in breast cancer (AUC: 0.89, 95% CI: 0.821– 0.958).Conclusion: Serum miR-501-3p combined with serum miR-338-3p show obvious clinical significance in the diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer, which suggests that they may act as novel diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer.Keywords: breast cancer, miR-501-3p, miR-338-3p, serum biomarker, bioinformatics analysis

Topical delivery of methotrexate (MTX) has become an option to overcome the side effects caused by systemic therapy in psoriasis, leading to the suppression of NF-κB activation through boosting adenosine release. However, thickened psoriatic skin is the primary restriction against local drug delivery.Methods: In this study, a ROS responsive MTX prodrug (MTX-TK-HA) was synthesized with the feature of CD44 mediated active targeting to hyperproliferative keratinocytes. MTX prodrug and PLA-mPEG were formulated by nano-precipitation method to develop the MTX-TK-HA/PLA-mPEG nanoassemblies. To achieve painless transdermal delivery, a dissolving microneedle was applied for direct loading of these nanoassemblies by micromolding technique. The particle size, zeta potential, ROS-responsiveness, permeability, and mechanical strength of nanoassemblies and microneedle arrays were determined, respectively. Then, MTT assay, immunoblot analysis, ELISA assay, flow cytometry, and histological staining were utilized to thoroughly evaluate the efficacy of nanoassemblies-loaded microneedles in an imiquimod-induced psoriatic mouse model.Results: Nanoassemblies-loaded microneedle arrays were capable of significantly penetrating imiquimod-induced psoriatic epidermis in mice. The efficient topical delivery of these nanoassemblies was achieved by potent mechanical strength and hyaluronic acid as the dissolvable matrix for microneedle arrays. CD44-mediated endocytosis enabled the intracellular uptake of nanoassemblies in keratinocytes, and methotrexate was released from MTX-TK-HA with ROS stimuli, followed by suppressing the proliferation of epidermal cells via NF-κB pathway blockade.Conclusion: In a psoriatic mouse model, nanoassemblies loaded microneedle arrays relieve inflammatory skin disorders via regulation of adenosine and NF-κB signaling. Abstract: Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory(LHAASO) is a composite cosmic ray observatory consisting of three detector arrays: kilometer square array (KM2A) which includes the electromagnetic detector array and muon detector array, water Cherenkov detector array (WCDA) and wide field of view Cherenkov telescope array (WFCTA). One of the main scientific objectives of LHAASO is to precisely measure the cosmic rays energy spectrum of individual components from 1014 eV to 1018 eV. The hybrid observation will be employed by LHAASO experiment, in which the lateral and longitudinal distributions of the extensive air shower can be observed simultaneously. Thus many kinds of parameters can be used for primary nuclei identification. In this paper, high purity cosmic ray simulation samples of light nuclei component are obtained through Multi-Variable Analysis. The apertures of 1/4 LHAASO array for pure proton and mixed proton and helium (H&He) samples are 900 m2Sr and 1800 m2Sr respectively. Mann Whitney U-test was used to evaluate the correlation between vascular distribution and RCCEP and tumor response; Kaplan Meier technique was used to evaluate time to progress (TTP) and overall survival (OS), and log rank test was used for comparison; multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to evaluate the related influencing factors.Results: The TTP and OS of TACE combined with carrelizumab in patients with advanced HCC were 7.1 and 14.3 months. Hypervascularity and development of RCCEP were good predictors of TTP (HR 2.561, P < 0.001; HR 1.486, P = 0.032) and OS (HR 2.854, P < 0.001; HR 1.634, P = 0.011). The median TTP and OS of patients with hypervascularity and RCCEP were 10.6 and 19.3 months, which were better than those with only hypervascularity (6.8 months, P = 0.016; 11.6 months, P = 0.003) and only RCCEP (6.2 months, P = 0.039; 13.5 months, P = 0.042), as well as those with neither (3.8 months, P < 0.001; 7.4 months, P < 0.001).Conclusion: Tumor hypervascularity and development of RCCEP were favorable predictive factors for the combination treatment of TACE and carrelizumab, with both of which the patients survived longest and might be the potential candidates.Keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma, transarterial chemoembolization, camrelizumab, vascularity, RCCEP

Participants completed a questionnaire, rating the importance of competencies relating to the seven CanMEDS roles.Results: The cognitive level regarding the competencies required to be a successful clinician was significantly higher among participants from VI versus non-VI curricula. All participants gave the highest ratings to the Medical Expert and Professional roles, and rated the Health Advocate role as least important. Competency ratings did not significantly differ between students from VI versus non-VI curricula. Ratings between VI and non-VI faculty showed only one significant difference, namely the competence of“Constantly update clinical knowledge and professional skills” was ranked significantly higher by faculty of non-VI curricula. In the top rated 10 competencies, the Communicator role was considered more important by participants from VI versus non-VI curricula.Conclusion: The cognitive level regarding the competencies was related to the curriculum system. The Communicator role seemed to be paid more attention in VI curricula, however, other competencies was not demonstrated to be related to the curriculum system.Keywords: competency, vertically integrated curriculum, medical education

Clinical assessment of patients’ body constitutions, however, has never been easy and consistent, even by well-trained clinicians and TCM practitioners. Therefore, questionnaires such as the popular Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire (CCMQ) can be an appealing and convenient assessment alternative. The present research borrowed advanced methodologies for questionnaire development in psychology and other social sciences to examine the performance of the CCMQ in terms of (i) the strength of relations of each item with its designated constitution, (ii) the reliabilities of each constitution, and (iii) the overall 9-constitution structure. This research provided empirical evidence to support the use of the CCMQ and proposed directions for refinement in future revisions of the CCMQ or similar measures.Methods: A total of 1571 volunteers from three villages in southern China participated in the CCMQ survey. The item characteristics, reliabilities, interconstitution correlations, and confirmatory factor analysis of the 9-body-constitution structure were examined.Results: The results generally supported the appropriateness of the clinical observations (the questionnaire items) and the CCMQ 9-constitution classification structure. Nevertheless, some relatively weaker items, item pairs with similar meanings, and highly overlapping constitutions were identified for future CCMQ revisions.Conclusion: The CCMQ measured the 9 constitutions efficiently and with reasonably good reliability and construct validity. Given the various challenges to assessing TCM body constitutions even by experienced clinicians, the CCMQ provides an appealing alternative to measure the Chinese body constitutions of healthy participants in large-scale research or community health promotion programs.
