Abstract: Long gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are believed to originate from core collapse of massive stars. High-redshift GRBs can probe the star formation and reionization history of the early universe, but their detection remains rare. Here we report the detection of a GRB triggered in the 0.5--4 keV band by the Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) on board the Einstein Probe (EP) mission, designated as EP240315a, whose bright peak was also detected by the Swift Burst Alert Telescope and Konus-Wind through off-line analyses. At a redshift of $z=4.859$, EP240315a showed a much longer and more complicated light curve in the soft X-ray band than in gamma-rays. Benefiting from a large field-of-view ($\sim$3600 deg$^2$) and a high sensitivity, EP-WXT captured the earlier engine activation and extended late engine activity through a continuous detection. With a peak X-ray flux at the faint end of previously known high-$z$ GRBs, the detection of EP240315a demonstrates the great potential for EP to study the early universe via GRBs., Comment: 41 pages, 8 figures, 7 tables

2. Influence of source parameters on the longitudinal phase-space distribution of a pulsed cryogenic beam of barium fluoride molecules

Abstract: Recently, we have demonstrated a method to record the longitudinal phase-space distribution of a pulsed cryogenic buffer gas cooled beam of barium fluoride molecules. In this paper, we use this method to determine the influence of various source parameters. Besides the expected dependence on temperature and pressure, the forward velocity of the molecules is strongly correlated with the time they exit the cell, revealing the dynamics of the gas inside the cell. Three observations are particularly noteworthy: (1) The velocity of the barium fluoride molecules increases rapidly as a function of time, reaches a maximum 50-200 $\mu$s after the ablation pulse and then decreases exponentially. We attribute this to the buffer gas being heated up by the plume of hot atoms released from the target by the ablation pulse and subsequently being cooled down via conduction to the cell walls. (2) The time constant associated with the exponentially decreasing temperature increases when the source is used for a longer period of time, which we attribute to the formation of a layer of isolating dust on the walls of the cell. By thoroughly cleaning the cell, the time constant is reset to its initial value. (3) The velocity of the molecules at the trailing end of the molecular pulse depends on the length of the cell. For short cells, the velocity is significantly higher than expected from the sudden freeze model. We attribute this to the target remaining warm over the duration of the molecular pulse giving rise to a temperature gradient within the cell. Our observations will help to optimize the source parameters for producing the most intense molecular beam at the target velocity., Comment: 17 pages, 7 figures

Abstract: The central engine that powers gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), the most powerful explosions in the universe, is still not identified. Besides hyper-accreting black holes, rapidly spinning and highly magnetized neutron stars, known as millisecond magnetars, have been suggested to power both long and short GRBs. The presence of a magnetar engine following compact star mergers is of particular interest as it would provide essential constraints on the poorly understood equation of state for neutron stars. Indirect indications of a magnetar engine in these merger sources have been observed in the form of plateau features present in the X-ray afterglow light curves of some short GRBs. Additionally, some X-ray transients lacking gamma-ray bursts (GRB-less) have been identified as potential magnetar candidates originating from compact star mergers. Nevertheless, smoking gun evidence is still lacking for a magnetar engine in short GRBs, and the associated theoretical challenges have been addressed. Here we present a comprehensive analysis of the broad-band prompt emission data of a peculiar, very bright GRB 230307A. Despite its apparently long duration, the prompt emission and host galaxy properties point toward a compact star merger origin, being consistent with its association with a kilonova. More intriguingly, an extended X-ray emission component emerges as the $\gamma$-ray emission dies out, signifying the emergence of a magnetar central engine. We also identify an achromatic temporal break in the high-energy band during the prompt emission phase, which was never observed in previous bursts and reveals a narrow jet with half opening angle of approximately $3.4^\circ$., Comment: 44 pages, 10 figures, 5 tables

Nevertheless, the five-year survival rate for patients has remained essentially unchanged, and research into treatments has been relatively stagnant. The combined application of photothermal therapy (PTT) and immunotherapy for treating HNSCC has considerable potential.Methods: Live-dead cell staining and CCK-8 assays proved that Fe3O4 nanoparticles are biocompatible in vitro. In vitro, cellular experiments utilized flow cytometry and immunofluorescence staining to verify the effect of Fe3O4 nanoparticles on the polarisation of tumor-associated macrophages. In vivo, animal experiments were conducted to assess the inhibitory effect of Fe3O4 nanoparticles on tumor proliferation under the photothermal effect in conjunction with BMS-1. Tumour tissue sections were stained to observe the effects of apoptosis and the inhibition of tumor cell proliferation. The histological damage to animal organs was analyzed by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining.Results: The stable photothermal properties of Fe3O4 nanoparticles were validated by in vitro cellular and in vivo animal experiments. Fe3O4 photothermal action not only directly triggered immunogenic cell death (ICD) and enhanced the immunogenicity of the tumor microenvironment but also regulated the expression of tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), up-regulating CD86 and down-regulating CD206 to inhibit tumor growth. The PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor promoted tumor suppression, and reduced tumor recurrence and metastasis. In vivo studies demonstrated that the photothermal action exhibited a synergistic effect when combined with immunotherapy, resulting in significant suppression of primary tumors and an extension of survival.Conclusion: In this study, we applied Fe3O4 photothermolysis in a biomedical context, combining photothermolysis with immunotherapy, exploring a novel pathway for treating HNSCC and providing a new strategy for effectively treating HNSCC.Keywords: photothermal therapy, immunotherapy, tumor-associated macrophages, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

Cerium oxide nanomaterials show great potential for scavenging free radicals and simulating superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities. To solve the problem of poor targeting of cerium oxide nanomaterials, we designed albumin-cerium oxide nanoclusters (TPP-PCNLs) that target the modification of mitochondria with triphenyl phosphate (TPP). TPP-PCNLs are expected to simulate the activity of superoxide dismutase, continuously remove reactive oxygen species, and play a lasting role in radiation protection.Methods: First, cerium dioxide nanoclusters (CNLs), polyethylene glycol cerium dioxide nanoclusters (PCNLs), and TPP-PCNLs were characterized in terms of their morphology and size, ultraviolet spectrum, dispersion stability and cellular uptake, and colocalization Subsequently, the anti-radiation effects of TPP-PCNLs were investigated using in vitro and in vivo experiments including cell viability, apoptosis, comet assays, histopathology, and dose reduction factor (DRF).Results: TPP-PCNLs exhibited good stability and biocompatibility. In vitro experiments indicated that TPP-PCNLs could not only target mitochondria excellently but also regulate reactive oxygen species (ROS)levels in whole cells. More importantly, TPP-PCNLs improved the integrity and functionality of mitochondria in irradiated L-02 cells, thereby indirectly eliminating the continuous damage to nuclear DNA caused by mitochondrial oxidative stress. TPP-PCNLs are mainly targeted to the liver, spleen, and other extramedullary hematopoietic organs with a radiation dose reduction factor of 1.30. In vivo experiments showed that TPP-PCNLs effectively improved the survival rate, weight change, hematopoietic function of irradiated animals. Western blot experiments have confirmed that TPP-PCNLs play a role in radiation protection by regulating the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway.Conclusion: TPP-PCNLs play a radiologically protective role by targeting extramedullary hematopoietic organ-liver cells and mitochondria to continuously clear ROS.Keywords: radioprotective effect, ceria nanoclusters, mitochondria targeting, oxidative stress, superoxide dismutase

6. Association Between the Hepatic Steatosis Index and Risk of Incident Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the Normoglycemic Population:A Longitudinal Prospective Study in Japan

However, limited research has directly predicted HSI’s association with T2DM occurrence at normal blood glucose levels. Hence, this study aimed to assess the link between baseline HSI and T2DM development under euglycemic conditions while also exploring potential sex differences.Methods: Using data from the NAGALA cohort study, a Cox regression model analyzed the relationship between HSI and T2DM risk, calculating hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). Subgroup analyses were conducted to investigate factors influencing HSI’s prediction of incident T2DM.Results: During a mean 6.1-year follow-up, 238 individuals (1.65% of participants) developed T2DM. After adjusting for age, ethanol consumption, smoking status, SBP, DBP, TG, and TC, HSI showed a significant association with incident T2DM in individuals with normal glucose levels, consistent across sexes. Compared to the lowest quartile group (Q1), the HR and 95% CI for Q2, Q3, and Q4 were 1.09 (0.61, 1.93), 1.16 (0.68, 1.98), and 3.30 (2.04, 5.33), respectively (P for trend < 0.001). Subgroup analysis indicated that elevated HSI significantly increased the risk of incident T2DM in individuals with normal TG levels (P for interaction = 0.0170).Conclusion: This study highlights the significant association between elevated HSI levels and the likelihood of developing incident T2DM in individuals with normal glucose levels. We evaluated the early changes in serum interleukin-8 (IL-8) levels as a biomarker of response to ICIs in patients with unresectable HCC.Methods: Eighty patients who received ICIs therapy alone or in combination with other treatments for unresectable HCC were included. Serum was collected at baseline and 2– 4 weeks after the first dose. Serum IL-8 levels were measured using by ELISA.Results: In the progressive disease (PD) group, serum IL-8 levels increased significantly before the second dose of ICIs therapy compared with baseline levels (P < 0.001). Early changes in serum IL-8 levels were significantly associated with the response to ICIs therapy (P < 0.001). A cutoff value of 8.1% increase over the baseline most effectively predicted the response to ICIs. Increases in serum IL-8 levels > 8.1% indicated the uselessness of ICIs immunotherapy in patients with unresectable HCC. Patients with increases in serum IL-8 levels > 8.1% had significantly shorter overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) than those with increases in serum IL-8 levels ≤ 8.1% (P < 0.001). Increases in serum IL-8 levels > 8.1% were independent prognosticators of worse OS (P = 0.003) and PFS (P < 0.001).Conclusion: Early changes in serum IL-8 levels, measured only 2– 4 weeks after starting therapy, could predict the response to ICIs therapy, as well as OS and PFS of patients with unresectable HCC. She had experienced lower abdominal pain for 1 day and amenorrhea for 1 week. Transvaginal ultrasonography did not reveal an intrauterine pregnancy, but showed a suspected extrauterine gestational sac on the left adnexal area. The patient was diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy, and laparoscopy was performed. During the operation, we found a gestational sac on the left fallopian tube stump.Conclusion: The most significant risk factors for ectopic pregnancy (EP) are previous procedures and conditions that cause tubal injury. Therefore, it is necessary to be alert to the occurrence of the disease even if there is a history of tubal resection and ensure no part of the fallopian tube is left behind during removal.Keywords: proximal tubal pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, partial salpingectomy

Post-HSCT clinical outcomes, including acute graft-vs-host disease (aGVHD), engraftment time, oral mucositis (OM), sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS), and diarrhoea in relation to nutrition status after HSCT were analysed.Results: After HSCT, 28.21% experienced diminished nutritional status, with 71.43% of those who were wasting before HSCT showing diminished nutritional status, significantly higher than the normal group (18.75%, P = 0.012). Anthropometric changes included significant weight reduction (87.5%, 22.15 ± 7.46 vs 20.74 ± 6.57, P < 0.001) and BMI decrease (90%, 15.19 ± 1.70 vs 14.05 ± 1.48, P < 0.001). Body composition parameters, which are FFM, SMM, SLM, ICW, ECW, BCM, and PA (18.26 ± 5.71 vs 17.27 ± 5.19, 8.68 ± 3.30 vs 7.93 ± 3.02, 17.11 ± 5.28 vs 16.06 ± 4.84, 8.19 ± 2.54 vs 7.62 ± 2.31, 5.15 ± 1.58 vs 4.94 ± 1.47, 11.74 ± 3.63 vs 10.92 ± 3.32, 4.42 ± 0.50 vs 3.90 ± 0.57, respectively, P < 0.001) analysis revealed significant decreases. No significant differences in clinical outcomes were observed based on nutritional status.Conclusion: Paediatric β-TM patients undergoing HSCT exhibit significant changes in nutrition status and body composition, emphasizing the need for focused attention on malnourished children who are more prone to diminished nutritional status. Bioinformatics preliminarily analyzed the expression of CLEC4D in gastric cancer. Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression level and clinical pathological characteristics of CLEC4D in gastric cancer. The biological function of CLEC4D in gastric cancer cell lines was verified through in vitro and in vivo experiments.Results: In this study, CLEC4D expression was found to be markedly increased in gastric cancer (GC) tissues compared with matched normal gastric tissues, and high CLEC4D expression independently predicted unfavorable overall survival in patients with GC. Knockdown of CLEC4D markedly inhibited GC cell proliferation and migration. In light of this, our team utilizes Mendelian Randomization and bioinformatics analysis methods to investigate the potential association between the two diseases.Methods: In this study, we utilized GWAS data pertaining to SAS and OA to assess the causal relationship between the two diseases through Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis. We then employed transcriptomic data to perform differential gene identification, WGCNA, shared gene determination, functional enrichment analysis, and colocalization analysis, all designed to further elucidate the mechanisms underlying the association between the two diseases. In the end, we utilized Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis again to delve deeper into the relationship between the two diseases and immune cells.Results: Our research findings indicate that SAS is a risk factor for OA (p = 0.000004), knee OA (p = 0.0000001) and hip OA(p = 0.001). Furthermore, OA (p = 0.000195), knee OA (p = 0.001) are significant risk factors for SAS. However, there is no clear evidence that hip OA (p = 0.892) is a risk factor for SAS. Interestingly, the genes shared between OA and SAS are significantly enriched in leukocyte migration, leukocyte chemotaxis. Moreover, colocalization analysis suggests that the genes JUNB, COL8A1, FOSB, and IER2 may be key genes associated with both diseases. Furthermore, 57 immune cell phenotypes are associated with SAS, 95 with OA, and 6 shared between both diseases.Conclusion: This research confirmed the bidirectional causal relationship between SAS and OA. Notably, the 4 genes (JUNB, COL8A1, FOSB, IER2) and 6 immune phenotypes are crucial for both diseases, these provide hopeful targets for future interventions against these two diseases.Keywords: sleep apnea syndrome, osteoarthritis, Mendelian randomization, bioinformatics

Compared with younger populations, the structure and function of various cells, tissues and organs in the body of the elderly undergo a decline as they age, rendering them more susceptible to external factors and diseases, leading to serious tissue damage. Tissue damage presents a significant obstacle to the overall health and well-being of older adults, exerting a profound impact on their quality of life. Moreover, this phenomenon places an immense burden on families, society, and the healthcare system.In recent years, stem cell-derived exosomes have become a hot topic in tissue repair research. The combination of these exosomes with biomaterials allows for the preservation of their biological activity, leading to a significant improvement in their therapeutic efficacy. Among the numerous biomaterial options available, hydrogels stand out as promising candidates for loading exosomes, owing to their exceptional properties. Due to the lack of a comprehensive review on the subject matter, this review comprehensively summarizes the application and progress of combining stem cell-derived exosomes and hydrogels in promoting tissue damage repair in geriatric diseases. This study aimed to address these deficiencies. Here, we investigated the effects of SPHK1/S1P on MTrP microangiogenesis and the value of CEUS in evaluating these effects.Methods: Forty Sprague‒Dawley rats were subdivided into two groups: control and MTrP groups. MTrPs were established by 8 weeks of the strike procedure combined with eccentric motion and 4 weeks of recovery. All rats were euthanized after having undergone CEUS with an overdose of pentobarbital sodium. MTrP and control tissue samples were removed for haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) imaging. The tissue was dehydrated, cleared, and embedded before sectioning. The sections were then incubated overnight at 4°C, and immunohistochemistry was carried out with primary antibodies including rabbit anti-CD31, rabbit anti-SPHK1and rabbit anti-S1PR1.Results: MTrP rats exhibited spontaneous electrical activity (SEA) and a local twitch response (LTR) during electromyography (EMG) examination. The CEUS time-intensity curves (TICs) showed that the perfusion intensity in the MTrPs and surrounding tissue area was increased, with faster perfusion than in normal sites, while the TICs in the control group slowly increased and then slowly decreased. The correlation coefficient between the microvessel density (MVD) and sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor 1 (S1PR1) was 0.716 (p < 0.01). Spearman correlation analysis revealed that Spearman’s rho (ρ) values between the MVD and peak intensity (PI), between the MVD and area under the curve (AUC), and between the MVD and SPHK1 were > 0.5 (p < 0.05), > 0.7 (p < 0.01), and > 0.7 (p < 0.01), respectively.Conclusion: CEUS is valuable for detecting microangiogenesis within MTrPs, and SPHK1/S1P plays an important role in promoting MTrP tissue microangiogenesis.Keywords: ultrasound, myofascial pain syndrome, diagnosis, angiogenesis

COPD and AECOPD are characterized by damage to cilia and increased mucus secretion. Mucociliary clearance (MCC) functions as part of the primary innate system of the lung to remove harmful particles and pathogens together with airway mucus and is therefore crucial for patients with COPD.Methods: AECOPD was induced by cigarette smoke exposure (80 cigarettes/day, 5 days/week for 12 weeks) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) instillation (200 μg, on days 1, 14, and 84). Rats administered Lianhua Qingke (LHQK) (0.367, 0.732, and 1.465 g/kg/d) or Eucalyptol, Limonene, and Pinene Enteric Soft Capsules (ELP, 0.3 g/kg/d) intragastrically. Pulmonary pathology, Muc5ac+ goblet cell and β-tubulin IV+ ciliated cells, and mRNA levels of forkhead box J1 (Foxj1) and multiciliate differentiation and DNA synthesis associated cell cycle protein (MCIDAS) were assessed by hematoxylin and eosin staining, immunofluorescence staining, and RT-qPCR, respectively. Ciliary morphology and ultrastructure were examined through scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Ciliary beat frequency (CBF) was recorded using a high-speed camera.Results: Compared to the model group, LHQK treatment groups showed a reduction in inflammatory cell infiltration, significantly reduced goblet cell and increased ciliated cell proportion. LHQK significantly upregulated mRNA levels of MCIDAS and Foxj1, indicating promoted ciliated cell differentiation. The chemotaxis ability of Vδ 2 T cells was determined by transwell migration assay. The levels of chemokines were also detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results: Peripheral Vδ 2 T cells had significantly lower frequencies in acute gout patients than that in healthy controls (P< 0.001). These peripheral Vδ 2 T cells were negatively correlated with inflammatory markers. Vδ 2 T cells from acute gout patients accumulated in synovial fluid, as evidenced by a higher abundance of Vδ 2 T cells in it than that in the serum (P< 0.01). And Vδ 2 T cells expressed a high level of C-X-C chemokine receptor 3 (P=0.035), and its corresponding chemokine C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 showed a high concentration in synovial fluid (P< 0.05). Vδ 2 T cells from synovial fluid of acute gout patients produced a high level of interleukin-17 (P=0.033).Conclusion: The up-regulated expression of C-X-C chemokine receptor 3 on Vδ 2 T cells potentially facilitates their infiltration into synovial fluid during acute gouty arthritis. Further production of interleukin-17 by Vδ 2 T cells may contribute to the pathogenesis of gout. Abstract: Recent progress in satellite observations has provided unprecedented opportunities to monitor vegetation activity at global scale. However, a major challenge in fully utilizing remotely sensed data to constrain land surface models (LSMs) lies in inconsistencies between simulated and observed quantities. For example, gross primary productivity (GPP) and transpiration (T) that traditional LSMs simulate are not directly measurable from space, although they can be inferred from spaceborne observations using assumptions that are inconsistent with those LSMs. In comparison, canopy reflectance and fluorescence spectra that satellites can detect are not modeled by traditional LSMs. To bridge these quantities, we presented an overview of the next generation land model developed within the Climate Modeling Alliance (CliMA), and simulated global GPP, T, and hyperspectral canopy radiative transfer (RT; 400–2,500 nm for reflectance, 640–850 nm for fluorescence) at hourly time step and 1° spatial resolution using CliMA Land. CliMA Land predicts vegetation indices and outgoing radiances, including solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF), normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), enhanced vegetation index (EVI), and near infrared reflectance of vegetation (NIRv) for any given sun-sensor geometry. The spatial patterns of modeled GPP, T, SIF, NDVI, EVI, and NIRv correlate significantly with existing data-driven products (mean R2 = 0.777 for 9 products). CliMA Land would be also useful in high temporal resolution simulations, for example, providing insights into when GPP, SIF, and NIRv diverge.

21. Quantum-to-Classical Crossover in Single-electron Emitter

Abstract: We investigate the temperature-driven quantum-to-classical crossover in a single-electron emitter. The emitter is composed of a quantum conductor and an electrode, which is coupled via an Ohmic contact. At zero temperature, it has been shown that a single electron can be injected coherently by applying an unit-charge Lorentzian pulse on the electrode. As the electrode temperature increases, we show that the electron emission approaches a time-dependence Poisson process at long times. The Poissonian character is demonstrated from the time-resolved full counting statistics. In the meantime, we show that the emission events remain correlated, which is due to the Pauli exclusion principle. The correlation is revealed from the emission rates of individual electrons, from which a characteristic correlation time can be extracted. The correlation time drops rapidly as the electrode temperature increases, indicating that correlation can only play a non-negligible role at short times in the high-temperature limit. By using the same procedure, we further show that the quantum-to-classical crossover exhibits similar features when the emission is driven by a Lorentzian pulse carrying two electron charge. Our results show how the electron emission process is affected by thermal fluctuations in a single-electron emitter.

Plasma samples were collected either before administration of aescinate, upon the occurrence of phlebitis, or at the end of treatment. Non-targeted metabolomics and targeted amino acid metabolomics were carried out to analyze metabolic profiles and quantify the metabolites.Results: Untargeted metabolomics revealed six differential metabolites in baseline samples versus post-treatment samples and four differential metabolites in baseline samples from patients with or without phlebitis. Pathways of these differential metabolites were mainly enriched in amino acid metabolism. Ten differential amino acids with a VIP value of > 1 were identified in the baseline samples, enabling us to distinguish between patients with or without phlebitis. A logistic regression model was constructed (AUC 0.825) for early warning of phlebitis of grade 2 or higher.Conclusion: The occurrence of aescinate-induced phlebitis, which can be predicted early during onset, may be associated with perturbations of the endogenous metabolic profile, especially the metabolism of amino acids. Sixty-eight patients with severe oligoasthenospermia who continued to receive ICSI assisted pregnancy were matched by propensity score 1:1 as control group. General data questionnaire, self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Chinese version of perceived Stress Scale (CPSS) and International Erectile Function Index Rating Scale (IIEF-5) were used to conduct a cross-sectional investigation to compare the mental health and erectile function status of the two groups.Results: There were statistical differences in age and occupational status between the two groups before PSM (P < 0.05), but there was no statistical significance in social demographic data between the two groups after matching (P > 0.05). The incidence of anxiety, depression, stress and erectile dysfunction (ED) in the study group was higher than that in the control group, and there were statistical differences between the two groups (P < 0.05).Conclusion: The use of donor sperm to assist pregnancy has a great impact on the mental health and erectile function of infertile men. The tumor-free 5-year rate for HCC patients undergoing radical resection only reach up to 13.7 months, so the prevention of recurrence after radical resection of HCC is very important for the prognosis of patients. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) takes the approach of multitarget and overall-regulation to treat tumors, it can also independently present the “component-target-pathway” related to a particular disease, and its systematic and holistic characteristics can provide a personalized therapy based on symptoms of the patient by treating the patient as a whole. TCM as postoperative adjuvant therapy after radical resection of HCC in Barcelona Clinic liver cancer A or B stages, and the numerous clinical trials confirmed that the efficacy of TCM in the field of HCC has a significant effect, not only improving the prognosis and quality of life but also enhancing patient survival rate. However, with the characteristics of multi-target, multi-component, and multi-pathway, the specific mechanism of Chinese medicine in the treatment of diseases is still unclear. Because of the positive pharmacological activities of TCM in combating anti-tumors, the mechanism studies of TCM have demonstrated beneficial effects on the regulation of immune function, chronic inflammation, the proliferation and metastasis of liver cancer cells, autophagy, and cell signaling pathways related to liver cancer. Various methods have been reported to decrease the incidence of EFI during EN, such as post-pyloric feeding, continuous EN delivery, abdominal massage, and probiotic supplementation. However, several studies reported conflicting results. Inappropriate interventions may cause gastrointestinal (GI) injury. This study aims to design a protocol based on Mukbang videos, which are widely watched online, to detect their effects on the incidence of EFI, nutritional status, incidence of infectious complications, and activities of daily living.Patients and Methods: We will conduct a three-arm, parallel-design, randomized controlled trial that will be implemented in 273 patients from intensive care units. Participants will be randomized into one of the three intervention arms (1:1:1), which will be performed by a research assistant. Participants were allocated to three groups: (a) watching mukbang video, (b) watching a cooking show, and (c) watching a non-food content video. Prior to EN initiation, each participant will watch a ten-minute mukbang video, cookery show, or non-food content video.Conclusion: Mukbang videos show food, expressions of mukbangers and eating sounds. If it effectively reduces the incidence of EFI, leads to greater nutritional status, lower incidence of infectious complications, and a higher level of independence among patients compared with watching cooking videos or non-food content videos, it has broad dissemination potential as a non-invasive, easily assessing, and using method.Keywords: enteral feeding intolerance, mukbang videos, nursing, critical care

Our study was to explore the prognostic value of the association between body composition indicators and systemic inflammation markers among patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) who underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT).Methods: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of LACC patients treated between 2016 and 2019. Subcutaneous, visceral and intra-muscular adipose index (SAI, VAI and IMAI) and skeletal muscle index (SMI) were derived from computed tomography (CT). Kaplan-Meier analysis and Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were used to evaluate the survival. A nomogram was constructed to assess the prognostic value.Results: The study included 196 patients treated with CCRT. According to multivariable Cox analyses, IIIC1r (P = 0.045), high systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) (P = 0.004), sarcopenia (P = 0.008), high SAI (P = 0.016) and high VAI (P = 0.001) were significantly risk factors for overall survival (OS). Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that patients with low lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) and sarcopenia had longer OS than those with high LMR and sarcopenia (P = 0.023). The high neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in non-sarcopenic patients showed better survival (P = 0.022). Low VAI (P = 0.019) or low IMAI (P = 0.019) combined with low SII had a favorable OS. Low LMR combined with low SAI was associated with longer OS (P = 0.022). The calibration plots of nomogram predicting the 3-year and 5-year OS rates were close to the ideal models.Conclusion: Inflammation factors were closely associated with abnormal muscle and fat distribution. 29. Instantaneous Emission Rate of Electron Transport through a quantum point contact

Abstract: We present a theory to describe the instantaneous emission rate of electron transport in quantum-coherent conductors. Due to the Pauli exclusion principle, electron emission events are usually correlated. This makes the emission rate is not a constant, but depends on the history of the emission process. To incorporate such history dependence, in this paper we characterize the emission rate via the conditional intensity function, which has been introduced in the theory of random point process. The conditional intensity function can be treated as the instantaneous emission rate observed by an ideal single-electron detector since a given starting time. We demonstrate the method by studying the instantaneous emission rate of a single-channel quantum point contact driven by a constant voltage. As the quantum point contact is opened up, we show that the emission process evolves from a simple Poisson process close to pinch-off to a non-renewal process at full transmission. These results shows that the conditional intensity function can provide an intuitive and unified description of the emission process in quantum-coherent conductors.

Our study aimed to summarize the present state of knowledge and to identify the focal points and emerging developments regarding macrophages associated with COPD through bibliometrics.Methods: Publications regarding research on macrophages associated with COPD from January 1, 2011, to January 1, 2022, were retrieved from the Science Citation Index-Expanded (SCI-E) which is part of the Web of Science database. In total, 1521 publications were analyzed using bibliometric methodology. VOSviewer was used to analyze the annual publications, countries, institutions, authors, journals, and research hotspots.Results: Based on the bibliometric analysis, publications relating to macrophages associated with COPD tended to increase from 2011 to 2022. The United States was the largest producer and most influential country in this field. Research during the past decade has focused on inflammation in the lungs. Most previous studies have mainly focused on the mechanisms that promote the initiation and progression of COPD. Macrophage-related oxidative stress and immunity, communication between macrophages and epithelial cells, and interventions for acute exacerbations have become the focus of more recent studies and will become a hot topic in the future.Conclusion: Global research on macrophage-associated COPD has been growing rapidly in the past decade. The hot topics in this field gradually tended to shift focus from “inflammation” to “oxidative stress”, “epithelial-cells”, and “exacerbations”. The significance of macrophages in coordinating immune responses, interacting with other cells, and exhibiting dysregulated capacities has attracted increasing attention to COPD pathogenesis. The identification of biomarkers that are indicative of an individual’s sensitivity to treatment with ICIs is useful for screening SCLC patients prior to commencement of any ICIs based immunotherapy. However, the relationship between GBP5 and the prognosis of SCLC immunotherapy is still unclear and requires further study.Methods: We downloaded two SCLC datasets, namely the George-SCLC and Jiang-SCLC cohorts. We used the TIDE algorithm to predict the efficacy of immunotherapy for SCLC patients. The QuanTIseq, MCPcounter, and EPIC algorithms are used to calculate the proportions of immune cells in SCLC patients. Additionally, we retrospectively collected 35 SCLC samples from the first affiliated hospital of the Hengyang Medical school.Results: Patients in each cohort were devided into two groups with high (GBP5-High) and low (GBP5-Low) expression of GBP5. In both cohorts, the GBP5-High population had a higher proportion of patients that responded well to immunotherapy (responders) (p < 0.05). In addition, both GBP5-High subgroups had significantly increased cytotoxicity, chemokines, antigen presenting, and TNF family related genes. We also determined that GBP5 was related to high-level infiltration of B cells, CD4+T cells, CD8+T cells and NK cells.Conclusion: In this study, we found that GBP5 has the potential to be used as a biomarker of ICIs efficacy for SCLC patients. Predicting poorly differentiated HCC has essential significance for clinical decision-making. Although some studies have developed predictive models based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and radiomics, radiomic features that require specific software for analysis are impractical for clinical work. This study aims to develop a novel and user-friendly nomogram model to predict E-S grade III–IV.Patients and Methods: Medical data on patients meeting the inclusion criteria were obtained from the Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital HCC database (January 2020 to December 2022). Univariate analysis was used to screen for risk factors associated with E-S grade III–IV. A novel nomogram was established based on the subsequent multivariate logistic regression analysis. The performance of the established model was evaluated through diagnostic ability, calibration, and clinical benefits.Results: Overall, 240 HCC patients were included in this study. Among them, 103 were highly differentiated (E-S grade I–II) HCC and 137 were poorly differentiated (E-S grade III–IV) HCC. A nomogram model that integrated alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), des-γ-carboxy prothrombin (DCP), hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis C virus antibodies (HCVAb), aspartate aminotransferase to lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI), and macrovascular invasion was established. The novel model had a good diagnostic performance with an area under the curve (AUC) value of 0.763. Meanwhile, the model had a diagnostic accuracy of 72.5%, a sensitivity of 78.1%, and a specificity of 65.1%. The calibration curve showed good calibration of the nomogram model (mean absolute error = 0.043), and the decision curve analysis (DCA) demonstrated that the clinical benefit was provided.Conclusion: Our developed nomogram model could successfully predict E-S grade III–IV in HCC patients, which may be helpful in clinical decision-making.Keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma, Edmondson-Steiner grade, nomogram, prediction

However, the current clinical modalities for identification and treatment of SLN are still far from satisfactory owing to their high cost, invasiveness and low accuracy. We aim to design a novel nanomedicine system for SLN imaging and treatment with high efficacy.Methods: We designed and prepared hollow mesoporous carbon spheres (HMCS) and loaded with the chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX), which is then modified with polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) to obtain nanomedicine: HMCS-PVP-DOX.Results: HMCS-PVP with a size of about 150 nm could retain in the lymph nodes for a long time and stain the lymph nodes, which could be easily observed by the naked eye. At the same time, HMCS-PVP exhibited excellent photoacoustic and photothermal imaging capabilities, realizing multimodal imaging to locate lymph nodes precisely. Due to its high specific surface area, HMCS could be largely loaded with the chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX). HMCS-PVP-DOX displayed highly efficient synergistic chemotherapy-photothermal therapy for lymphatic metastases in both cellular and animal experiments due to its significant photothermal effect under 1064 nm laser irradiation. Abstract: We investigate the Ti-doping effect on the charge density wave (CDW) of 1T-TaS2 by combining scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements and first-principle calculations. Although the Ti-doping induced phase evolution seems regular with increasing of the doping concentration (x), an unexpected chiral CDW phase is observed in the sample with x = 0.08, in which Ti atoms almost fully occupy the central Ta atoms in the CDW clusters. The emergence of the chiral CDW is proposed to be from the doping-enhanced orbital order. Only when x = 0.08, the possible long-range orbital order can trigger the chiral CDW phase. Compared with other 3d-elements doped 1T-TaS2, the Ti-doping retains the electronic flat band and the corresponding CDW phase, which is a prerequisite for the emergence of chirality. We expect that introducing elements with a strong orbital character may induce a chiral charge order in a broad class of CDW systems. To rationalise the masonry design and failure analysis, differences of failure under cyclic and monotonic loading were studied. For samples of silica refractories tested in wedge splitting set-up global failure parameters and crack trajectories were assessed. Under cyclic loading, higher fracture energy and lower brittleness at failure were seen. Cracks of different modes had similar non-linearity and branching. However, the size and microstructural characteristics of the fracture process zone was different. Abstract: We report on the electrostatic trapping of neutral SrF molecules. The molecules are captured from a cryogenic buffer-gas beam source into the moving traps of a 4.5 m long traveling-wave Stark decelerator. The SrF molecules in $X^2\Sigma^+(v=0, N=1)$ state are brought to rest as the velocity of the moving traps is gradually reduced from 190 m/s to zero. The molecules are held for up to 50 ms in multiple electric traps of the decelerator. The trapped packets have a volume (FWHM) of 1 mm$^{3}$ and a velocity spread of 5(1) m/s which corresponds to a temperature of $60(20)$ mK. Our result demonstrates a factor 3 increase in the molecular mass that has been Stark-decelerated and trapped. Heavy molecules (mass$>$100 amu) offer a highly increased sensitivity to probe physics beyond the Standard Model. This work significantly extends the species of neutral molecules of which slow beams can be created for collision studies, precision measurement and trapping experiments.

41. Boosting photovoltaic performance of ternary organic solar cells by integrating a multi-functional guest acceptor

Abstract: Constructing ternary structure is one of the most effective design strategies to break the efficiency ceiling of traditional binary organic solar cells (OSCs). Here, a new Y-series non-fullerene acceptor (Y-T) featuring 1,3-diethyl-2-thiobarbituric acid (DTBA) end groups is developed as a third component for the classical PM6:Y6 binary system. The champion power conversion efficiency of ternary OSCs is increased from 15.64% to 17.37% via incorporating 10 wt% Y-T, with the simultaneously enhanced open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.865 V, a short-circuit current density (Jsc) of 26.90 mA/cm2, and a fill factor (FF) of 74.97%. The positive contribution of Y-T in the ternary blend can be ascribed to the improved spectroscopic complementarity and enhanced exciton utilization ratio due to the additional energy transfer process. Moreover, Y-T guest acceptor plays a critical role in adjusting the active layer morphology and facilitating three-dimension phase separation, resulting in a balanced charge transport and enhanced FF of ternary OSCs. This work provides insight into the molecular design of non-fullerene acceptor and suggest guidelines to rationally select guest component for ternary OSCs.

The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) meta-aggregative approach was used for the qualitative synthesis. The protocol was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42022346831).Results: In total, 12 articles were included in the review. These articles reported findings from 433 participants in total, which included 315 patients and 118 healthcare professionals. Four synthesised findings with sub-themes were identified from the reviewed studies. These synthesised findings were described as: 1) The role of relationship and communication with/between Healthcare Professionals in medication adherence; 2) Insufficient information from Healthcare Professionals acting as a barrier for adherence; 3) How patient’s attitude/beliefs effect their adherence to medication; and 4) Patients’ personal behaviour and other relevant barriers.Conclusion: The synthesized findings provide a strong evidence-base of patient and health professionals’ perspectives and behaviours toward medication adherence, which helps to identify and address non-adherence. Healthcare providers can use these findings to support patients’ adherence to asthma medications. The findings suggest that empowering people to make informed decisions around medication adherence rather than “adherence controlling” by health professionals is very important. Here, a case of a 70-year-old woman who was diagnosed as PPt was reported. The patient suffered from severe pruritic papules and plaques in the buttock region and pubis for 4 years. The skin lesions were giant, well-defined brown plaques with many satellite papules scattered around. Both clinical manifestations and histopathological features supported the diagnosis of PPt. In review of the identified mutation was found in patients with disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis (DSAP) combined with PPt, while its unclear in PPt. To investigate the hypothesis that the variant reported in the present case report may played as an independent “likely pathogenic factor” of PPt. Consequently, a de novo missense pathogenic mutation in the MVK gene was identified in this case. Unexpectedly, it is a first report of a novel MVK mutation in sporadic PPt. Abstract: Various tin hydrides SnHx (x = 4, 8, 12, 14) have been theoretically predicted to be stable at high pressures and to show high-critical-temperature superconductivity with Tc ranging from about 70 to 100 K. However, experimental verifications for any of these phases are still lacking to date. Here, we report on the in-situ synthesis, electrical resistance, and synchrotron x-ray diffraction measurements of SnHx at ~ 200 GPa. The main phase of the obtained sample can be indexed with the monoclinic C2/m SnH12 via comparison with the theoretical structural modes. A sudden drop of resistance and the systematic downward shift under external magnetic fields signals the occurrence of superconductivity in SnHx at Tc = ~ 70 K with an upper critical field u0Hc2(0) = ~ 11.2 T, which is relatively low in comparison with other reported high-Tc superhydrides. Various characteristic superconducting parameters are estimated based on the BCS theory.

49. Late-Time Radio and Millimeter Observations of Superluminous Supernovae and Long Gamma Ray Bursts: Implications for Obscured Star Formation, Central Engines, and Fast Radio Bursts

Abstract: We present the largest and deepest late-time radio and millimeter survey to date of superluminous supernovae (SLSNe) and long duration gamma-ray bursts (LGRBs) to search for associated non-thermal synchrotron emission. Using the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), we observed 43 sources at 6 and 100 GHz on a timescale of $\sim 1 - 19$ yr post-explosion. We do not detect radio/mm emission from any of the sources, with the exception of a 6 GHz detection of PTF10hgi (Eftekhari et al. 2019), as well as the detection of 6 GHz emission near the location of the SLSN PTF12dam, which we associate with its host galaxy. We use our data to place constraints on central engine emission due to magnetar wind nebulae and off-axis relativistic jets. We also explore non-relativistic emission from the SN ejecta, and place constraints on obscured star formation in the host galaxies. In addition, we conduct a search for fast radio bursts (FRBs) from some of the sources using VLA Phased-Array observations; no FRBs are detected to a limit of $16$ mJy ($7\sigma$; 10 ms duration) in about 40 min on source per event. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive form of breast cancer characterized by a poor prognosis. Icariin (ICA) is a flavonoid glycoside purified from the natural product Epimedium, which is reported to exert an inhibitory effect on a variety of cancers. However, molecular mechanisms behind ICA suppressed TNBC remain elusive.Methods: The curative effects of ICA on TNBC cells and potential targets were predicted by network pharmacology and molecular biology methods screening, and the mechanism of inhibition was explained through in vitro experiments such as cell function determination, Western blot analysis, molecular docking verification, etc.Results: This study showed that ICA inhibits TNBC cell functions such as proliferation, migration, and invasion in a dose-dependent manner. ICA could induce redox‐induced apoptosis in TNBC cell, as shown by ROS upregulation. As a result of network pharmacology, ICA was predicted to be able to inhibit the MAPK signaling pathway. ICA treatment inhibited the expression of JNK and c-Jun and downregulated the antiapoptotic gene cIAP-2. Our results suggested that ICA could induce apoptosis by inducing an excessive accumulation of ROS in cells and suppress TNBC cell invasion via the JNK/c-Jun signaling pathway.Conclusion: We demonstrated that ICA can effectively inhibit cell proliferation and induced apoptosis of TNBC cells. In addition, ICA could inhibit TNBC cell invasion through the JNK/c-Jun signaling pathway.
