Due to the uniqueness and interactivity of its scenario, the cultural and tourism commercial space consistently enriches and enhances the user experience while satisfying users' consumption and shopping. However, there is limited research on the participatory aspect of cultural tourism business spaces from the perspective of users. To this end, the present study investigates the participatory experience of cultural tourism commercial spaces by selecting 305 tourists who visited Huaihai Street in Suzhou for consumption and entertainment and quantifies the relationship between the public's flow experience, aesthetic judgments, and behavioral outcomes using a structural equation modeling approach. The results of the study confirm that aesthetic judgments and flow experiences positively impact behavioral outcomes and that flow experiences also affect aesthetic judgments and behavioral outcomes. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the significance of user participation in cultural tourism business spaces.

Background and AimFear of childbirth (FOC) is one of the most common mental health concerns among expectant fathers, which can cause adverse consequences for themselves and their families. A valid and accurate tool is the key to the identification of FOC. This study aimed to translate and culturally adapt the fathers’ fear of childbirth scale (FFCS) into simplified Chinese and test the scale’s psychometric properties among expectant fathers in mainland China.MethodsResearchers obtained translation permission and followed the multiphase translation guidelines to develop the Chinese version of the fathers’ fear of childbirth scale (C-FFCS). Relevant psychometric properties were selected for the scale’s psychometric validation on the basis of the Consensus-based Standards for the Selection of Health Status Measurement Instruments checklist. In this cross-sectional study, two samples of expectant fathers were collected in a university-affiliated hospital in Hangzhou between September and October 2022.ResultsA total of 381 expectant fathers completed the C-FFCS, resulting in an effective response rate of 95.6%. The C-FFCS is a 3-factor structure consisting of 16 items, which explained 66.374% of the total variance. The content validity index of items ranged from 0.833 to 1.00, and the scale-level content validity index was 0.931. The confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the scale’s 3-factor structure. Evidence of convergent validity (average variance extracted = 0.508–0.780) as well as discriminant validity offered excellent psychometric support. The Cronbach’s α coefficient, McDonald’s ω coefficient, intraclass correlation coefficient, Spearman-Brown coefficient, and Guttman split-half coefficient are within the satisfactory range (> 0.80). When the battery is used under the condition of the intermittent pulse discharge with gradually decreasing amplitude, its parameters change largely and it is not easy to predict its state of charge (SOC) with precision. As a solution, a second-order RC equivalent circuit model of Li-ion battery with consideration of the influence of discharge rate is developed. Firstly, to identify related parameter of battery model through the battery test data at different rates. Critical parameters are configured as the function related to the current. Secondly, to develop the state equation and the observed equation of the battery over the improved parameter model. Finally, to exercise the extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm for the estimations of battery’s SOC. Experiments indicate that, under the condition of the intermittent pulse discharge with gradually decreasing amplitude, compared with the case without considering the effect of discharge rate, by applying the improved battery model, the deviation in the process of SOC estimation can be effectively corrected and the precision for estimating SOC can be significantly ameliorated.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the distribution and speciation of selenium amino acids in different solubilized proteins of selenium-enriched broccoli, soybean, corn and barley seedlings. Methods： The contents of selenomethionine, selenocysteine, methylselenocysteine and selenethionine in four selenium-enriched cereals and cruciferous agricultural products were determined by high performance liquid chromatography-hydride generation-atomic fluorescence spectrometry. Moreover, the distribution characteristics of each selenium amino acid in albumin, globulin, gliadin and glutelin with different solubilized proteins were analyzed. Results: The content and distribution of selenium amino acids of the four selenium-enriched plants in different protein components were significantly different (P＜0.05). SeMet was the main organic selenium form in selenium-enriched soybean, corn and barley seedlings, and its distribution of the four types of protein fractions was more consistent and the relative contents were all higher than 66%.However, no SeEt was detected. The organic selenium forms in selenium-enriched broccoli were mainly SeCys2 and SeMet, following by MeSeCys. SeCys2 and SeMet were more uniformly distributed in the albumin and glutenin which accounted for about 36% of the organic selenium content, but SeMet was present in the globulin and gliadin with the highest relative content of 60%. SeCys2 accounted for about 34% of the organic selenium content, while SeEt was the smallest constituent accounted for about 5%. Conclusion: SeMet is the main selenium specie in different soluble proteins of Graminaceous and cereals (selenium-enriched soybean, corn and barley seedlings); SeMet and SeCys2 are the main selenium species in different soluble proteins of selenium-enriched broccoli, and there are also MeSeCys in albumin and glutelin.

Tourette syndrome (TS) is characterized by multiple motor and vocal tics, and high-comorbidity rates with other neuropsychiatric disorders. Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), major depressive disorder (MDD), and anxiety disorders (AXDs) are among the most prevalent TS comorbidities. To date, studies on TS brain structure and function have been limited in size with efforts mostly fragmented. This leads to low-statistical power, discordant results due to differences in approaches, and hinders the ability to stratify patients according to clinical parameters and investigate comorbidity patterns. Here, we present the scientific premise, perspectives, and key goals that have motivated the establishment of the Enhancing Neuroimaging Genetics through Meta-Analysis for TS (ENIGMA-TS) working group. The ENIGMA-TS working group is an international collaborative effort bringing together a large network of investigators who aim to understand brain structure and function in TS and dissect the underlying neurobiology that leads to observed comorbidity patterns and clinical heterogeneity. Previously collected TS neuroimaging data will be analyzed jointly and integrated with TS genomic data, as well as equivalently large and already existing studies of highly comorbid OCD, ADHD, ASD, MDD, and AXD. Our work highlights the power of collaborative efforts and transdiagnostic approaches, and points to the existence of different TS subtypes. ENIGMA-TS will offer large-scale, high-powered studies that will lead to important insights toward understanding brain structure and function and genetic effects in TS and related disorders, and the identification of biomarkers that could help inform improved clinical practice.

Background and aimThe postpartum depression literacy (PoDLi) of perinatal women is closely related to the occurrence, recognition, and treatment of postpartum depression, therefore valid instruments for evaluating the level of PoDLi are of great significance for both research and clinical practice. This study aimed to cross-culturally adapt the postpartum depression literacy scale (PoDLiS) into Chinese and to test its psychometric properties among Chinese perinatal women.Materials and methodsA cross-sectional study was conducted from April to May 2022 in a tertiary hospital in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. 619 out of the 650 perinatal women that were approached via a convenience sampling method completed the Chinese version of the PoDLiS (C-PoDLiS). Content validity [the content validity index of items (I-CVI) and scale-level content validity index (S-CVI)] was evaluated by an expert panel. Psychometric properties, including item analysis, structure validity (exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis), convergent and discriminant validity, reliability (internal consistency, test-retest reliability), criterion validity (concurrent validity, predictive validity), and floor/ceiling effect were examined.ResultsThe final version of C-PoDLiS is a six-factor structure consisting of 27 items, which explained 61.00% of the total variance. Adequate content validity (I-CVI = 0.833–1.00, S-CVI = 0.920) was ensured by the expert panel. The modified confirmatory factor analysis model revealed that the 6-factor model fitted the data well (χ2/df = 1.532, root mean square error of approximation = 0.042, goodness of fit = 0.900, incremental fit index = 0.949, comparative fit index = 0.948, Tucker–Lewis index = 0.940). The total Cronbach’s α was 0.862, the total McDonald’s ω was 0.869, and the test-retest reliability coefficient was 0.856. Results of convergent validity (average variance extracted = 0.486–0.722) and discriminant validity provided good or acceptable psychometric support. Significant correlations between scores of the C-PoDLiS and Mental health literacy scale (r = 0.155–0.581, p < 0.01) and Attitudes toward seeking professional psychological help short form scale (r = 0.361–0.432, p < 0.01) supported good concurrent and predictive validity, respectively. No floor/ceiling effect was found.ConclusionThe C-PoDLiS was demonstrated to be a sound instrument with good reliability and validity for evaluating Chinese perinatal women’s PoDLi levels. Its use in the future can facilitate data aggregation and outcome comparisons across different studies on this topic.

Despite the widespread clinical use of acupuncture in the treatment of pruritus caused by psoriasis, urticaria, uremic, and other diseases, insights into the mechanism of action of acupuncture are still emerging. For the above reasons, a beneficial effect of acupuncture on pruritus was not recommended or reported in recent clinical practice guidelines. Acupuncture is a kind of physical stimulation, which has the characteristics of multi-channel and multi-target effects. The biomechanical stimulation signal of acupuncture needling can be transformed into bioelectric and chemical signals; interfere with kinds of cells and nerve fibers in the skin and muscle; alter signaling pathways and transcriptional activity of cells, mediators, and receptors; and result in inhibition of peripheral and central transmission of pruritus. Available mechanistic data give insights into the biological regulation potency of acupuncture for pruritus and provide a basis for more in-depth and comprehensive mechanism research.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a typical heterogeneous malignant tumor, whose insensitivity to chemotherapy is a common cause of tumor recurrence and metastasis. There is no doubt regarding the effectiveness of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) for GC, but the population for whom it is indicated and the selection of specific options remain the focus of present research. The conventional pathological TNM prediction focuses on cancer cells to predict prognosis, while they do not provide sufficient prediction. Enhanced computed tomography (CT) scanning is a validated tool that assesses the involvement of careful identification of the tumor, lymph node involvement, and metastatic spread. Using the radiomics approach, we selected the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression model to build a radiomics signature for predicting the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of patients with complete postoperative gastric cancer and further identifying candidate benefits from ACT. The radiomics trait-associated genes captured clinically relevant molecular pathways and potential chemotherapeutic drug metabolism mechanisms. Our results of precise surrogates using radiogenomics can lead to additional benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy and then survival prediction in postoperative GC patients.

Relying on the Biomedical Big Data Center of West China Hospital, this paper makes an in-depth research on the construction method and application of breast cancer-specific database system based on full data lifecycle, including the establishment of data standards, data fusion and governance, multi-modal knowledge graph, data security sharing and value application of breast cancer-specific database. The research was developed by establishing the breast cancer master data and metadata standards, then collecting, mapping and governing the structured and unstructured clinical data, and parsing and processing the electronic medical records with NLP natural language processing method or other applicable methods, as well as constructing the breast cancer-specific database system to support the application of data in clinical practices, scientific research, and teaching in hospitals, giving full play to the value of medical big data of the Biomedical Big Data Center of West China Hospital.

BackgroundThe therapeutic efficacy of epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in advanced EGFR-mutant lung squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) patients remains uncertain. Furthermore, the factors underlying the responsiveness have not been fully investigated. We therefore investigated the link between genomic profiles and EGFR-TKI efficacy.Material and MethodsWe consecutively enrolled stage IV, EGFR-mutant, and EGFR-TKI–treated patients with SCC. Patients with EGFR wild-type lung SCC and EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma were consecutively enrolled as controls, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) was performed.ResultsIn total, 28 EGFR-mutant lung SCC, 41 EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma, and 40 EGFR wild-type lung SCC patients were included. [Introduction] In order to ensure the normal operation of the flue gas system of boiler, after the domestic coal-fired power plant is implemented with ultra-low emission reform, the induced draft fan and the booster fan need to be reform. [Method] Taking a 1 000 MW coal-fired unit as an example, the three possible reforming schemes of the induced draft fan and the booster fan (only the induced draft fan was changed, the booster fan was only changed, and the induced draft fan and booster fan were merged) were compared from the technical aspect, and made an economic calculation based on the actual unit. [Result] The result shows the merger scheme has lower cost. [Conclusion] This comparison method and modification scheme have high reference value for the induced draft fans reformation of other coal-fired power plant.

Objective To explore training-related independent factors affecting the awareness of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in senior high school students in Shanghai. Methods Questionnaires measuring CPR-related knowledge were distributed to 430 senior high school students in Shanghai. Results The overall CPR qualification rate was 7.7%. Focusing on (Zr0.6336Cu0.1452Ni0.1012Al0.12)100-xErx(x=0,0.5,1,1.5,2,2.5,3,atom fraction) bulk amorphous alloys, the effect of Er on the structure, mechanical properties, thermal stability and amorphous forming ability of amorphous alloys was studied by changing the content of trace element of Er. The results show that all the samples are completely amorphous alloys after the addition of Er element. With the increase of the content of Er, the elastic modulus of each sample increases firstly and then decreases, and the compressive plastic strain is stepped up, and the plastic strain of samples at x=0,x=0.5 and x=1 is fluctuating in the range of 4%; the plastic strain of samples at x=1.5,x=2,x=2.5 in the range of 11%; the plastic strain of samples at x=3 is the highest, its value is 23.19%, the elastic modulus is 37.76GPa, the yield strength is 1604MPa, the compressive strength is 2068MPa, the fracture strength is 2060MPa. With the increase of Er content, the thermal stability of Zr based amorphous alloys and amorphous formation ability decrease firstly and then increase.

Background/Aims: Melatonin, which is mainly secreted by the pineal gland and released into blood, has anti-inflammatory properties in acute pancreatitis. Many studies show that melatonin can relieve inflammation in taurocholate-induced acute pancreatitis. However, the mechanisms of its anti-inflammatory effects are still undefined, especially the relationship between melatonin and endoplasmic reticulum stress. We explored the anti-inflammatory activity of melatonin in AR42J and rat models. Methods: The CCK-8 assay was used to assess effects of melatonin on AR42J cell viability. Inflammatory degree and the expressions of endoplasmic reticulum stress related molecules were examined by quantitative RT-PCR and western blotting. The degree of inflammation in the tissue was also accessed by pathological grading. Finally, we used the western blotting method to verify apoptosis and autophagy. Results: Endoplasmic reticulum stress was obviously activated in early stage inflammation in AR42J and rat models. Melatonin could induce anti-inflammatory effects via endoplasmic reticulum stress. Melatonin significantly inhibited inflammatory cytokines and the expression of ERS-related molecules. Finally, it played a protective role by promoting apoptosis and autophagy of the cells, which were damaged in the process of inflammatory reaction. Conclusion: Melatonin induces anti-inflammatory effects via endoplasmic reticulum stress in acute pancreatitis to play a protective role.

The influence of Methionine (MTI) on corrosion behavior of Twinning induced plastic (TWIP) steel in 3.5wt.% NaCl solutions was investigated using electrochemical techniques, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), white light interferometer (WLI) analyses and Raman spectra. With increasing inhibitor concentration, the corrosion inhibition rate first increased and then decreased, and the maximum inhibitor efficiency was found to be 30 mg l ^−1 MTI. MTI was acting as a mixed-type inhibitor. The inhibition effect of MTI could also be evaluated by SEM and WLI results, and the trend was the same as that obtained by electrochemistry. At the same time, Raman spectra results showed that MTI was adsorbed on the surface of the steel.

Background/Aims: Melatonin, synthesized by the pineal gland and released into the blood, appears to have antitumour properties; however, the mechanisms of its anti-cancer effects are largely unknown, especially in stomach cancer. Here, we explore the antitumour activity of melatonin in a gastric cancer cell line (AGS) and analyse its molecular mechanisms. Methods: AGS cells were treated with melatonin, and cell viability was assessed using a CCK-8 assay. Flow cytometry was performed to evaluate apoptosis, and protein expression was examined by Western blotting. Results: Melatonin significantly inhibited cell viability, clone formation, and cell migration and invasion and induced apoptosis in AGS cells. Moreover, MAPK pathways (p38, JNK and ERK) were activated by melatonin treatment, which also significantly increased caspase-3 cleavage and Bax protein expression and decreased Bcl-2 protein expression in a time-dependent manner. Our results demonstrate that p38 and JNK inhibitors (SB203580 and SP600125, respectively) prevented melatonin-induced apoptosis; thus, the propensity of p38 MAPK and JNK to promote apoptosis could be at least partly due to the inhibition of NF-κB p65 activation by p38 and JNK. Finally, melatonin was able to strengthen cisplatin-mediated antitumour effects in human gastric carcinoma cells by up-regulating the expression of Bax, down-regulating the expression of Bcl-2 and activating the caspase-dependent apoptotic pathway. Conclusion: Melatonin induced apoptosis in AGS cells by activating the caspase-dependent apoptotic pathway and by inhibiting the nuclear translocation of NF-κB p65, two processes that are regulated by p38 and JNK. Furthermore, melatonin significantly enhanced the anti-tumour effects of cisplatin, with low systemic toxicity. These new findings suggest that melatonin may act as a potent anti-tumour agent and may have great potential as an adjuvant therapy in the future.

Objective To explore stable and functional microRNA (miRNA)–disease relationships using a genome-wide expression profile pattern matching strategy. Methods We applied the ranked microarray pattern matching strategy Gene Set Enrichment Analysis to identify miRNA permutations with similar expression patterns to diseases. We also used quantitative reverse transcription PCR to validate the predicted expression levels of miRNAs in three diseases: inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), oesophageal cancer, and colorectal cancer. Results We found that hsa-miR-200 c was upregulated more than 40-fold in oesophageal cancer. The expression of miR-16 and miR-124 was not consistently upregulated in IBD or colorectal cancer. Conclusions Our results suggest that this expression profile matching strategy can be used to identify functional miRNA–disease relationships.

BACKGROUND: With the rapid development of real-time elastography (RTE), a variety of measuring methods have been developed for the assessment of hepatic fibrosis. We evaluated the overall performance of four methods based on RTE by performing meta-analysis of published literature. METHODS: Online journal databases and a manual search from April 2000 to April 2014 were used. Studies from different databases that meet inclusion criteria were enrolled. The statistical analysis was performed using a random-effects model and fixed-effects model for the overall effectiveness of RTE. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was calculated for various means. Fagan plot analysis was used to estimate the clinical utility of RTE, and the heterogeneity of the studies was explored with meta-regression analysis. RESULTS: Thirteen studies from published articles were enrolled and analyzed. The combined AUROC of the liver fibrosis index (LFI) for the evaluation of significant fibrosis (F≥2), advanced fibrosis (F≥3), and cirrhosis (F = 4) were 0.79, 0.94, and 0.85, respectively. The AUROC of the elasticity index (EI) ranged from 0.75 to 0.92 for F≥2 and 0.66 to 0.85 for F = 4. The overall AUROC of the elastic ratio of the liver for the intrahepatic venous vessels were 0.94, 0.93, and 0.96, respectively. The AUROC of the elastic ratio of the liver for the intercostal muscle in diagnosing advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis were 0.96 and 0.92, respectively. BACKGROUND: Several observational studies have shown that statin use may modify the risk of haematological malignancies. To quantify the association between statin use and risk for haematological malignancies, we performed a detailed meta-analysis of published studies regarding this subject. METHODS: We conducted a systematic search of multiple databases including PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library Central database up to July 2013. Fixed-effect and random-effect models were used to estimate summary relative risks (RR) and the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Potential sources of heterogeneity were detected by meta-regression. Subgroup analyses and sensitivity analysis were also performed. RESULTS: A total of 20 eligible studies (ten case-control studies, four cohort studies, and six RCTs) reporting 1,139,584 subjects and 15,297 haematological malignancies cases were included. Meta-analysis showed that statin use was associated with a statistically significant 19% reduction in haematological malignancies incidence (RR = 0.81, 95% CI [0.70, 0.92]). During subgroup analyses, statin use was associated with a significantly reduced risk of haematological malignancies among observational studies (RR = 0.79, 95% CI [0.67, 0.93]), but not among RCTs (RR = 0.92, 95% CI [0.77, 1.09]). CONCLUSIONS: Based on this comprehensive meta-analysis, statin use may have chemopreventive effects against haematological malignancies. More studies, especially definitive, randomized chemoprevention trials are needed to confirm this association.
