Chemical investigation on the roots and rhizomes of Nardostachys chinensis Batal led to the isolation of twenty-one sesquiterpenoids with various carbocyclic skeletons including three eudesmane-type (1-2, 4), nine nardosinane-type (3, 5-12), and nine aristolane-type sesquiterprenoids (13-21). The structures of the new compounds 1 and 3, and the new natural product 2 were established by extensive spectroscopic analysis, and their absolute configurations were established by computational electronic circular dichroism (ECD) method. Nitric oxide (NO) is one of the most important inflammatory modulators in many inflammatory diseases. Thus, inhibitory effects of compounds 1-21 on NO production were investigated in lipopolysaccaride (LPS)-mediated RAW 264.7 cells, and compounds 13-15 displayed NO inhibitory activity with IC50 values of 2.67, 2.79, 9.87 μM, respectively. Moreover, a further study revealed that compound 13 exhibited anti-inflammatory activity via suppression of IL-6, IL-10, and IL-23.

Eighteen linear triquinane sesquiterpenoids (LTSs), including seventeen previously undescribed ones (hirsutuminoids A-Q), were isolated from the fermentation of the fungus Stereum hirsutum (Willd.) Pers. Two new cytochalasans flavichalasine N (1), flavichalasine O (2), together with six known cytochalasans (3–8), were isolated from Aspergillus flavipes PJ03-11 through the application of OSMAC (one strain many compounds) strategy. Flavichalasine O (2) represented the first example of cytochalasans possessing a nitrogen-oxygen heterocycle at the macrocyclic ring part. Their structures were established on the base of extensive spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 1–4 exhibited significant cytotoxic activities against three human cancer cell lines (THP1, HL-60 and PC3) with IC50 values ranging from 3.00 to 15.10 μM.

A new fumiquinazoline-type alkaloid 2-methyl-versiquinazoline C (1), together with six known compounds (2–7), was isolated from Aspergillus flavipes PJ03-11 using OSMAC method. Four new C21 steroidal glycosides, cynataihosides A (1), B (2), C (5) and D (6), together with two known compounds, cynanoside J (3) and glaucoside H (4), were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of Cynanchum taihangense. The aglycone of cynataihoside A (1) was also a new compound, and that of cynataihoside B (2) was unusual. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of 1D- and 2D- NMR spectroscopic data, HR-ESI–MS analysis and qualitative chemical methods. The compounds were subjected to detect the cytotoxicity against three human tumor cell lines (HL-60, THP1 and Caco2). Compound 2 selectively showed potent cytotoxic activity on Caco2 cells with IC50 value of 1.23 μM, being more effective than the positive control (5-fluorouracil, IC50 = 6.76 μM). Compound 5 was more sensitive to THP1 cell line than HL-60 and Caco2 cell lines with IC50 values of 7.85 μM. Moreover, the structure-activity relationship of the C21 steroidal glycosides on the cell lines was analyzed.

Matsudipeptides A (1) and B (2), two previously undescribed diketopiperazines with peroxy groups, were isolated from the fruiting bodies of the basidiomycete Tricholoma matsutake. These two compounds were featured by unusual scaffolds biogenetically related with cyclic dipeptide. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data and calculated methods. Both the two compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against five human cancer cell lines (HL-60, SMMC-7721, A549, MCF-7, and SW-480), and their inhibition on acetylcholinesterase.

Three new tetralol analogs, myrochromanols A-C (1–3), together with 11 known trichothecenes (4–14), were isolated from a soil fungus Myrothecium verrucaria HL-P-1. The structures of the three new compounds were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis including HRESIMS, NMR, and ECD calculation. All of the new compounds were tested for their anti-inflammatory activity and cytotoxicity. Compounds 1 and 3 inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced NO production in BV2 cells with IC50 values of 26.04 and 25.80 μM, respectively. Three new tetralol analogs were isolated from a soil fungus Myrothecium verrucaria HL-P-1. All of them were tested for their anti-inflammatory and cytotoxicity activity.

Numerical simulation of the internal flow and heat transfer was conducted in dry slag discharge machine of the boiler in this paper. In the case of constant total air volume, the lateral tuyere layout impact on the inner velocity and ash temperature field was analyzed. The results show that the airflow disturbance of the tuyeres adopting stagger arrangement in the box would be more strengthened than aligned arrangement, and which could reduce high temperature area of the ash layer and protect the security of the steel belt.

Ochracines A-E, five previously undescribed norsesquiterpenes featured by unusual scaffolds biogenetically related to chamigrane, were isolated from the cultures of Steccherinum ochraceum. Ochracines A (1) and B (2) represent the first examples of norsesquiterpenes with an unprecedented 1,2-6,7-diseco-1,8-cyclochamigrane scaffold. Ochracines C-D (3–5) possess an unusual 1,2-6,7-diseco-chamigrane skeleton. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of ochracine A (1), and the relative configuration of ochracine B (2) were determined by ECD and/or NMR calculations. The biosynthetic pathways for the norsesquiterpenes were proposed. All isolates were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against the five human cancer cell lines HL-60, SMMC-7721, A549, MCF-7, and SW-480.
