Four Sm2Co17 magnets with spin-reorientation-transition (SRT) of cell boundary phases (CBPs) are prepared by liquid-phase sintering. The temperature of the spin-reorientation-transition cell boundary phase (T SR 1:5) is regulated from 125 K to 195 K by adding 0 wt.%, 3 wt.%, 6 wt.%, and 9 wt.% Dy88Cu12 alloy powder. The effect of SRT in Sm2Co17 magnet CBPs on the temperature dependence of the magnetization (M-T) and coercivity (H-T) is systematically investigated. The temperature dependence of the magnetization is influenced by SRT in CBPs. The M-T curves measured during the heating process are larger than those measured during the cooling process when T < T SR 1:5. When T = T SR 1:5, there is a bifurcation point. When T > T SR 1:5, the M-T curves overlaps, and the M-T derivation curve shows that the magnetization of the magnet has a low temperature dependence of the magnetization after the T SR 1:5. With increasing T SR 1:5, the initial temperature of the low temperature dependence of magnetization shifts towards a higher temperature. The coercivity temperature coefficient becomes positive as the SRT effect increases, and the temperature range of the positive coercivity temperature coefficient moves towards higher temperatures as the T SR 1:5 increases. This reveals that SRT in CBPs has little effect on the temperature dependence of magnetization above T SR 1:5, while the temperature dependence of coercivity is optimized. The temperature range of magnetization and coercivity with low temperature dependence tends towards higher temperatures, which is conducive to the preparation of magnets with a low temperature coefficient at higher temperatures.

The effects of Nd doping on the microstructures and magnetic properties of Sm1–x Nd x (Co0.695Fe0.2Cu0.08Zr0.025)7.2 (x = 0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0) permanent magnets are studied. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis of the solid solution states of the magnets shows that with the increase of Nd content, the distribution of elements becomes inhomogeneous and miscellaneous phase will be generated. Positive temperature coefficient of coercivity (β) appears in each of the samples with x = 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7. The corresponding positive β temperatures are in ranges of about 70 K–170 K, 60 K–260 K, 182 K–490 K for the samples with x = 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7, respectively. Thermomagnetic analysis shows that spin-reorientation-transition (SRT) of the cell boundary phase is responsible for this phenomenon. On the basis of this discovery, the Sm0.7Nd0.3 (Co0.695Fe0.2Cu0.08Zr0.025)7.2 magnet possessing thermal stability with β ≈ –0.002 %/K at the temperature in a range of 150 K–200 K is obtained.

Genetic analysis is an important part of undergraduate genetics teaching and tetrad analysis is unique and integral for genetic analysis of fungi. The ordered tetrad in Neurospora is an important material for genetic analysis, which can not only be used to study recombination between genes and centromeres, but also between genes themselves, as well as study the fine cross patterns between non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes. However, in textbooks and related professional journals, there is a lack of specific introduction to the induction methods of the seven basic class asci used in two genes analysis. In the present paper, we designed a table presenting the correlation between the three tetrad types (PD, NPD, T) and the four segregation pattern groups (Ⅰ Ⅰ, Ⅱ Ⅱ, Ⅰ Ⅱ, Ⅱ Ⅰ) to visually show the 12 possible combinations (3×4=12). Then five of them were excluded through the "×" symbol and in addition with three comments attached with the table, thus finally we obtained seven basic ascus types. We hope that this analytical method can assist the teaching of ordered tetrad analysis in Neurospora.

To explore the molecular-level mechanism on the hematopoiesis effect of Angelicae sinensis Radix (ASR) with systems-based interactome analysis. This systems-based interactome analysis was designed to enforce the workflow of "ASR (herb)→compound→target protein→internal protein actions→ending regulated protein for hematopoiesis". This workflow was deployed with restrictions on regulated proteins expresses in bone marrow and anemia disease and futher validated with experiments. The hematopoiesis mechanism of ASR might be accomplished through regulating pathways of cell proliferation towards hemopoiesis with cross-talking agents of spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK), Janus kinase 2 (JAK2), and interleukin-2-inducible T-cell kinase (ITK). The hematopoietic function of ASR was also validated by colony-forming assay performed on mice bone marrow cells. As a result, SYK, JAK2 and ITK were activated. This study provides a new approach to systematically study and predict the therapeutic mechanism for ASR based on interactome analysis towards biological process with experimental validations.

Extensive evidence suggests that the genetic etiologies of breast cancer (BC) and ovarian cancer (OC) show a certain degree of similarity. This study aimed to find out whether the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of genes SNAI1 and TWIST1 may affect BC and OC susceptibility. A total of 7 tagging‑SNPs (tSNPs) were directly genotyped in 1,161 BC cases, 286 OC cases and 1,273 cancer‑free controls among Chinese Han women. Twenty‑eight variants in these 2 genes were genotyped by 'in silico' genotype imputation. Logistic regression (LR) revealed that tSNPs SNAI1 rs6125849, TWIST1 rs4721746 and TWIST1 rs4721745 were protective genetic variants for BC/OC. Allelic association tests of gene‑wide SNPs demonstrated that the minor alleles of SNAI1 rs6125849, TWIST1 rs4721745 and TWIST1 rs11973396 were strongly associated with BC/OC susceptibility. Multivariate LR presented that SNAI1 rs6125849, TWIST1 rs4721745, rs4721746 and rs11973396 affected BC/OC susceptibility independently, and women harboring all four protective genoytpes had the lowest risk. Multifactor dimensionality reduction analysis further showed that SNAI1 rs6125849 and TWIST1 rs4721745 had the strongest synergistic interaction. Functional annotation predicted that the minor alleles of SNAI1 rs6125849 and TWIST1 rs4721745 altered their binding affinities with transcription factors E2F6 and TCF11‑MafG respectively. These results indicate that genetic variants in SNAI1 and TWIST1, most probably SNAI1 rs6125849 and TWIST1 rs4721745, may modulate BC and OC susceptibility.

To evaluate the efficacy of music therapy for acute and chronic sleep disorders in adults.Systematic review and meta-analysis.A systematic search of publications in PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library without language restriction was performed.Studies with randomized controlled design and adult participants were included if music was applied in a passive way to improve sleep quality. Subgroup analysis was conducted to explore the sources of heterogeneity.Ten studies involving 557 participants were identified. The sleep quality was improved significantly by music (standard mean difference: -0.63; 95% CI: -0.92 to -0.34; p0.001), with significant heterogeneity across studies. Subgroup analysis found heterogeneity between subgroups with objective or subjective assessing methods of sleep quality, and between subgroups with difference follow-up durations. No evidence of publication bias was observed.Music can assist in improving sleep quality of patients with acute and chronic sleep disorders. For chronic sleep disorders, music showed a cumulative dose effect and a follow-up duration more than three weeks is necessary for assessing its efficacy.

Talking from the meaning and importance of man-machine interface design, this article analyzes the current development situation of electronics’ man-machine interface market in our country, combines and further dissects the problem of man-machine interface development in our country, discusses the development tendency of man-machine interface through the analysis of the main principles of man-machine interface design, and draws a conclusion that “the interactive mode of basing on nature” of the “man machine harmony”and“human-centricaccommodation” is the inexorable trend of future development.

Menadione can induce apoptosis in tobacco protoplasts. Typical characteristics are detected including the condensation of chromatin, the formation of apoptotic bodies and the degradation of genomic DNA into “DNA ladder”. Specific DNase is activated during this process. Ca2+ and Mg2+ are necessary for its activation, while Zn2+ and EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) can inhibit its activation. The fragmentation of DNA and lamin can be inhibited by DEVD (Ac-Asp -Glu- Val- Asp-aldehyde). The fragmentation of lamin can also be inhibited by PMSF (Phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride) and CH (Cyclohexinide). These results show that activation of specific DNase and proteases is involved in menadion-induced apoptosis in plants.

We have developed a cell-free system that can trigger the nuclei purified from mouse liver and suspension-cultured carrot cells to undergo apoptosis as defined by the formation of apoptotic bodies and nucleosomal DNA fragments. The effects of different divalent cations and cycloheximide on DNA cleavage in this system were assessed. The fact that nuclei of plant cells can be induced to undergo apoptosis in a cell-free animal system suggests that animals and plants share a common signal transduction pathway triggering in the initiation stage of apoptosis.

This paper starts with the concept of Kansei engineering and man-machine interface to discuss the relationship between them. The paper also further analyzes visual perception elements of man-machine interface which is based on kansei engineering, i.e. color and image, and their application in man-machine interface design. After in-depth analysis, it's concluded that kansei engineering with the center on users plays a significant part in man-machine interface design.

We report here the apoptosis of mouse liver nuclei induced in the cytosol of carrot cells by cytochrome c. Several typical characteristics of apoptosis, such as chromatin condensation, margination and apoptotic bodies, were detected. The result of DNA gel electrophoresis showed that DNA was degraded into nucleosomal fragments. The terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-digoxigenin nick end labelling procedure was also performed to detect the breakage of 3′-OH ends of a DNA strand. Furthermore, we found that nuclear lamins were degraded from 88 kDa and 66 kDa to 37 kDa and 47 kDa fragments. The DNA fragmentation could be inhibited by AC-DEVD-CHO and AC-YVAD-CHO. The results indicate that the apoptosis in plant cells may share some similar pathways to apoptosis in animal cells.

We report here the detection of the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria into the cytosol during menadione-induced apoptosis in tobacco protoplasts. Western blot analysis indicated that the caspase specific inhibitors AC-DEVD-CHO (Ac-Asp-Glu-Val-Asp-aldehyde) and AC-YVAD-CHO (N-acetyl-Try-Val-Ala-aspartinal) inhibited the degradation of a caspase 3 specific substrate PARP (poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase), and they had no effect on the release of cytochrome c. Further study showed that menadione could not induce apoptosis of mouse liver nuclei in tobacco cytosol extract containing no mitochondria. However, when cytochrome c or mitochondria was added into the cytosol extract, apoptosis of mouse liver nuclei and the degradation of PARP could both be detected. The results provide strong evidence that menadione can induce apoptosis in tobacco protoplasts via the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria into the cytosol.
