10. A model of charmed baryon-nucleon potential and 2- and 3-body bound states with charmed baryon

Abstract

A potential model for the interaction between a charmed baryon ($\Lambda_c$, $\Sigma_c$, and $\Sigma_c^*$) and the nucleon ($N$) is constructed. The model contains a long-range meson ($\pi$ and $\sigma$) exchange part and a short-distance quark exchange part. The quark cluster model is used to evaluate the short-range repulsion and a monopole type form factor is introduced to the long-range potential to reflect the extended structure of hadrons. We determine the cutoff parameters in the form factors by fitting the $NN$ scattering data with the same approach and we obtain four sets of parameters (a -- d). The most attractive potential (d) leads to bound $\Lambda_c N$ states with $J^\pi= 0^+$ and $1^+$ once the channel couplings among $\Lambda_c$, $\Sigma_c$ and $\Sigma_c^*$ are taken into account. One can also investigate many-body problems with the model. Here, we construct an effective $\Lambda_c N$ one-channel potential with the parameter set (d) and apply it to the 3-body $\Lambda_c NN$ system. The bound states with $J=1/2$ and $3/2$ are predicted.

Abstract

Possible existence of $(c\bar{c})-$nucleus bound states are examined. We adopt Gaussian potentials for the $\eta_{c}-N$ and $J/\psi-N$ interactions. The relations between the scattering lengths $a$ of $(c\bar{c})-N$ interactions and the binding energies of $\eta_{c}-NN$, $J/\psi-NN$ and $J/\psi-^{4}$He are given. The results show that scattering lengths $a \le -0.95$ fm are needed to make $\eta_{c}-NN$ and $J/\psi-NN$ bound states, while for $a \le -0.24$ fm there may exist a $J/\psi-^{4}$He bound state., Comment: 18 pages, 14 figures. 30. Fatty acid characterization of indigenous cyanobacterial strains isolated from five hot springs in indonesia

Abstract

Cyanobacteria have been known to produce lipids that are potential for biodiesel. Cyanobacteria isolated from Indonesia are called Indonesia indigenous cyanobacteria. This study was conducted to determine the characterization of fatty acids contained in cyanobacteria originating from Indonesia which were isolated from 5 hot springs in Indonesia. For some 29 strains of cyanobacteria consisting of 8 genera have performed the analysis of fatty acids (FA) by extraction method via protocol in SHERLOCK Microbial Identification (Midi) System version 4.0, 2001 MIDI, Inc. The resulting data is as follows. All strains of 8 genera (Synechococcus, Merismopedia, Thermosynechococcus, Stanieria, Leptolyngbia, Westiellopsis, Mastigocladus, and Nostoc) have saturated fatty acids (SFA) and unsaturated fatty acids (MUFA and PUFA). The content of saturated fatty acids ranged from 27.77 to 50.56%, while the content of unsaturated fatty acids ranged from 7.58 to 63.31%. All strains have SFA Palmitic acid (16:00) which ranges from 23.23 to 42.64%. Meanwhile, unsaturated fatty acids Palmitoleic acid (16:1 wc7) are owned by almost all strains except Westiellopsis which range from 1.75 to 51.78%. Content of unsaturated fatty acids Oleic acid (18: w9c) ranges from 1.43 to 35.78% mainly in Leptolyngbia, Westiellopsis, and Mastigocladus. All strains have MUFA ranging from 7.58 to 63.31%, whereas PUFA is only owned by filamentous strains (Leptolyngbia, Westiellposis, Mastigocladus, and Nostoc). From the results of the research can be seen that 29 strains of cyanobacteria of 8 genera have potential fatty acids as raw materials of biodiesel under certain conditions.

Abstract

Nitrite reductase is a key enzyme for denitrification. There are two types of nitrite reductases: copper-containing NirK and cytochrome cd1-containing NirS. Most denitrifiers possess either nirK or nirS, although a few strains been reported to possess both genes. We herein report the presence of nirK and nirS in the soil-denitrifying bacterium Bradyrhizobium sp. strain TSA1T. Both nirK and nirS were identified and actively transcribed under denitrification conditions. Based on physiological, chemotaxonomic, and genomic properties, strain TSA1T (=JCM 18858T=KCTC 62391T) represents a novel species within the genus Bradyrhizobium, for which we propose the name Bradyrhizobium nitroreducens sp. nov.
