In order to explore the response of soil respiration in grassland to global warming, we carried out a warming experiment with open top chambers (OTCs) in the subalpine meadow, Mount Wutai in north China. Our results showed in the subalpine meadow across 2 500-2 700 m above the sea level (ASL), with OTCs, soil respiration increased by 2.00 μmol·m-2·s-1 as soil temperature increased by 1.25 ℃ on average. Warming decreased soil moisture over the experiment periods except in October 2019 when snow melted in OTCs. Warming effect on soil respiration peaked at 178.31% in October 2019. In control and warming treatment, based on exponential regression equations, soil temperature alone accounted for 85.3% and 61.2% of soil respiration variation, respectively. In control treatment soil moisture alone explained 23.2% of soil respiration variation based on the power regression equation while in warming treatment they were not significantly correlated with each other. The response of soil respiration to warming relied on altitudes as well as the time of the year, but was not inhibited by soil moisture, labile carbon pool, and available nitrogen. We concluded soil temperature was the main factor influencing soil respiration, and global warming would stimulate soil respiration in the subalpine meadows of Mount Wutai in the future. Our analysis provided new data on characteristics and mechanisms of the response of soil respiration to warming, and helped to further understand the relationship between carbon cycle and climate change.

In this study, graphdiyne (GDY) was first reported as a substrate material for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). The creative hybridization of GDY and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) endows the composite with unique heterostructural and morphological advantages that boost the charge transport rate and enhance the battery discharge properties. Electrochemical results indicated that the MoS2@GDY anode displays a considerable discharge capacity of up to 328 mAh g-1 at 1000 mA g-1. A capacity retention of 93% even at testing current back to 200 mA g-1 suggests superior rate characteristics. An outstanding stable cyclic performance of 217 mAh g-1 is obtained at a high testing density. The attractive results not only demonstrate that GDY could be used not only as an effective conductive substrate to prevent the host material from agglomerating in the electrochemical process but also provide a novel design for fabricating efficient electrode materials for future energy-storage systems.

Bentonite has important applications in curbing soil heavy metal pollution. Jinchang city is an important industrial city in western China, and the mining activities in this area inevitably lead to the heavy metal pollution of soil; in particular, the maximum concentrations of Ni and Cu in the soil exceeded the standard by 30 and 25 times, respectively. In this study, we conducted soil cultivation experiments to study the effects of bentonite addition (BA) on the fractions of the heavy metals Ni and Cu in an old tailings area of Jinchang city. Surface soil (0–20 cm) samples were collected, and Ni and Cu fractionation was performed using the Tessier sequential extraction method. The results showed that residual (R) was the main fraction of Ni and Cu, which accounted for 53% and 57% of their total amounts, respectively. The fraction bound to organic matter (BM), bound to Fe-Mn oxides (BO), bound to carbonates (BC), and the exchangeable (E) accounted for 20% and 16%, 18% and 12%, 6%, and 7%, 3% and 4% of the total amounts, respectively. Their contents ranked in the order: R > BM > BO > BC > E. Each fraction of Ni and Cu decreased with increasing levels of BA. The proportion of E of Ni and Cu was considerably reduced, while the proportion of BO and R increased significantly following the BA. BA can significantly reduce the mobility of Ni and Cu. Our findings indicated that BA can significantly reduce the biological toxicity and mobilization of heavy metals in polluted soil, which can be recommended as a safe stabilizer for heavy metal pollution in soil.

Peripheral human nerves fail to regenerate across long tube implants (>2 cm), and tissue-engineered nerve grafts represent a promising treatment alternative. The present study aims to investigate the testosterone propionate (TP) repair effect of acellular nerve allograft (ANA) seeded with allogeneic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) on 3-cm canine sciatic nerve defect. ANA cellularized with allogeneic BMSCs was implanted to the defect, and TP was injected into the lateral crus of the defected leg. The normal group, the autograft group, the ANA + BMSCs group, the ANA group, and the nongrafted group were used as control. Five months postoperatively, dogs in the TP + ANA + BMSCs group were capable of load bearing, normal walking, and skipping, the autograft group and the ANA + BMSCs group demonstrated nearly the same despite a slight limp. The compound muscle action potentials (CMAPs) on the injured side to the uninjured site in the TP + ANA + BMSCs group were significantly higher than that in the ANA + BMSCs group [CMAPs ratio at A: F(3, 20) = 191.40; 0.02, CMAPs ratio at B: F(3, 20) = 43.27; 0.01]. Masson trichrome staining revealed that in the TP + ANA + BMSCs group, both the diameter ratio of the myelinated nerve and the thickness ratio of regenerated myelin sheath were significantly larger than that in the other groups [the diameter of myelinated nerve fibers: F(3, 56) = 13.45; P < .01, the thickness ratio of regenerated myelin sheath: F(3, 56) = 51.25; P < .01]. In conclusion, TP could significantly increase the repairing effects of the ANA + BMSCs group, and their combination was able to repair 3-cm canine sciatic nerve defect. It therefore represents a promising therapeutic approach.

Automatic visual inspection (AVI) is a popular tool for object detection and analysis in many fields. In fisheries, AVI systems designed for fish egg development analysis are used for fish egg assessments in commercial and experimental fish production systems and in ecological monitoring. The first step in AVI systems is to subdivide an image into meaningful regions. The accuracy of this segmentation directly influences the success of subsequent image analysis operations such as feature selection and classification. At present, a lot of image segmentation techniques are available, but there is no universal segmentation technique suitable for all kinds of images.This paper presents a cascading automatic segmentation method for microscopic digitised images of live common carp (Cyprinuscarpio) eggs in Petri dishes filled with water. The proposed method involves five main steps:1) image pre-processing, 2) image initial segmentation by Otsu’s method, 3) segmentation post-processing based on morphological operations, 4) image edge detection and morphological operations to remove incomplete eggs, and finally 5) a Watershed method was used to resolve the problem of separating adjoining fish eggs. Testing the method in Matlab software verified that fish eggs were recognized, segmented and counted with 100% accuracy compared to manual observation in all 96 test cases.

In this paper, a hybrid switched-capacitor/ switched-quasi-Z-source bidirectional dc-dc converter is proposed for electric vehicles (EVs) with hybrid energy sources, which has a wide voltage gain range in the bidirectional energy flows. Compared with the traditional quasi-Z-source bidirectional dc-dc converter, the proposed converter only changes the position of the main power switch, and employs a switched-capacitor cell at the output of the high voltage side. Therefore, the advantages of the wide voltage gain range and the lower voltage stresses across the power switches can be achieved. The operating principle, the voltage and current stresses across the power switches and the comparisons with other converters are analyzed in detail. Furthermore, the parameter design of the main components, the dynamic modelling analysis and the voltage control scheme are also presented. Finally, the experimental results obtained from a 400W prototype validate the characteristics and the theoretical analysis of the proposed converter.

BACKGROUND: Primary lung cancer with severe central airway obstruction (CAO) is often life-threatening. In this study, we investigated the clinical efficacy and safety of cisplatin plus recombinant human endostatin (rh-endostatin) intratumoral injection in treatment of malignant central airway obstruction (MCAO) caused by primary squamous cell lung cancer. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed patients with MCAO caused by primary squamous cell lung cancer treated with and without bronchoscopic intratumoral injection of cisplatin plus rh-endostatin between January 2007 and June 2016. RESULTS: A total of 206 patients received cisplatin plus rh-endostatin intratumoral injection, and 113 without injection. Dyspnea grade, degree of stenosis, quality of life and lung function of all patients were significantly improved at 1 week after treatment compared with baseline. Both groups achieved good airway patency (97.1% vs. 93.8%, P=0.156). Followed up at 2 months, all parameters were improved in the injection group compared with baseline, while no statistical differences were observed in the non-injection group (P>0.05). In this paper, an interleaved switched-capacitor bidirectional dc-dc converter with a high step-up/step-down voltage gain is proposed. The interleaved structure is adopted in the low-voltage side of this converter to reduce the ripple of the current through the low-voltage side, and the series-connected structure is adopted in the high-voltage side to achieve the high step-up/step-down voltage gain. In addition, the bidirectional synchronous rectification operations are carried out without requiring any extra hardware, and the efficiency of the converter is improved. Furthermore, the operating principles, voltage and current stresses, and current ripple characteristics of the converter are analyzed. Finally, a 1 kW prototype has been developed which verifies a wide voltage-gain range of this converter between the variable low-voltage side (50–120 V) and the constant high-voltage side (400 V). The maximum efficiency of the converter is 95.21% in the step-up mode and 95.30% in the step-down mode. The experimental results also validate the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed topology.

Soil respiration (SR) is a major process of carbon loss from dryland soils, it is closely linked to precipitation which often arrived as discrete episodic event. However, knowledge about the dynamic patterns of SR of biologically crusted soils in response to precipitation pulses is still quite limited. In this study, we investigated CO 2 emission from moss (MCS) and cyanobacteria-lichen (CLCS) crusted soils after 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 mm of precipitation treatments during the dry season in the Tengger Desert, northern China. Results showed that two hours after precipitation, SR rates of both MCS and CLCS were often increased up to 18 times greater than those before rewetting, and then gradually declined and returned to background levels, the decrease was faster at lower precipitation intensity and slower at the higher. The peak and average SR rates over the first 2 h in MCS increased with increasing precipitation magnitude, but did not vary in CLCS. Total CO 2 emission over the whole 72-h experiment ranged from 1.35 to 5.67 g C m −2 in MCS, and 1.11 to 3.19 g C m −2 in CLCS. Peak and average SR rates as well as total carbon loss were all greater in MCS than in CLCS. SR rates of both MCS and CLCS were logarithmically correlated with soil water content. Comparisons of SR among different amount of precipitation events together with the analysis of long-term precipitation data suggest that small rainfall events have the potential for large short-term carbon losses and biological soil crusts might be the major contributor to soil CO 2 emission of the water-limited desert ecosystem.

Anlotinib is a novel molecular targeted drug that has been approved for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. Currently these agents are rarely used in the treatment of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). Bronchoscope-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a new strategy proposed for the treatment of LSCC that is able to alleviate the obstruction of the respiratory tract caused by LSCC by direct destruction of the tumor tissues. The presence work aims to reveal whether Anlotinib could enhance the antitumor activity of RFA on LSCC cells. The results from real-time PCR (qPCR) confirmed overexpression of targets of anlotinib activity, including receptor tyrosine kinase or the MPAK/PI3K-AKT pathway kinases, in LSCC tissues. Treatment with anlotinib inhibited the survival, in vitro invasion, and migration of LSCC cells. Moreover, the antitumor effects of RFA were investigated using a rodent model of LSCC. The combination of RFA and anlotinib treatment enhanced the antitumor effect of RFA treatment. We propose a combinative strategy of RFA and anlotinib as a novel approach for successful management of LSCC.

Stroke is one of the top three fatal diseases in human history. Inflammatory injury of the artery endo-membrane system is widely accepted as the major starting mechanism for the formation and enlargement of atherosclerosis plaque, which can be diagnosed by B-ultrasound or carotid angiography. However, clinical data reveal that there are asymptomatic patients that are not diagnosed until the stenosis degree is over 70%. Superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO), a promising candidate for a next generation contrast agent in medical imaging, has been used in the imaging of carotid artery plaques, but it still faces the challenge of targeted enrichment. Herein, we introduce a mature magnetic nanoparticle contrast agent and a promising method for diagnosing carotid artery inflammatory plaques with a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique. The superparamagnetic nanoparticles (SNPs) were synthesized by directly coating hydrophilic and high-magnetism Fe3O4 nanoparticles with an organosilica layer, which was followed by modification with polyethylene glycol. It was verified that the resultant nanocomposite possesses a higher structural stability, excellent dispersivity, separability, as well as biosafety. More importantly, the strong magnetism was preserved, making it possible to attract the SNPs with an external magnetic field and achieve a target concentration within the lesion. Moreover, an in vitro magnetic collar, designed to produce a stable magnetic field around the superficial common carotid arteries was introduced. The SNPs particles in the blood flow were slowed down by the collar, their motion direction was changed, and they were captured by the inflammatory cells in the plaque. The effectiveness and feasibility of the particles were evaluated via testing the MRI performance on histological levels with a rat carotid plaque model. The SNPs that were concentrated and accumulated in the plaque were verified to present an evident, negative enhancement in the Proton Density-T2 (PD-T2) sequence images. Therefore, it was demonstrated that the superparamagnetic nanoparticles have great potential as an MRI contrast agent to detect early stage carotid artery inflammatory plaques with an external magnetic collar.

In order to match the voltages between high voltage battery stacks and low voltage super-capacitors with a high conversion efficiency in hybrid energy sources electric vehicles (HESEVs), a high ratio bidirectional DC-DC converter with a synchronous rectification H-Bridge is proposed in this paper. The principles of high ratio step down and step-up operations are analyzed. In terms of the bidirectional characteristic of the H-Bridge, the bidirectional synchronous rectification (SR) operation is presented without any extra hardware. Then the SR power switches can achieve zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on and turn-off during dead time, and the power conversion efficiency is improved compared to that of the diode rectification (DR) operation, as well as the utilization of power switches. Experimental results show that the proposed converter can operate bidirectionally in the wide ratio range of 3~10, when the low voltage continuously varies between 15V and 50V. The maximum efficiencies are 94.1% in the Buck mode, and 93.6% in the Boost mode. In addition, the corresponding largest efficiency variations between SR and DR operations are 4.8% and 3.4%. This converter is suitable for use as a power interface between the battery stacks and super-capacitors in HESEVs.

Gold nanoshells have shown great potentials in various fields. However, the widely used seed-mediated growth method based on a silica template for gold nanoshells is a complex and time-consuming procedure. In this work, mercaptosilica was first used as a template to synthesize gold nanoshells through improved seed-mediated growth method. It is verified that gold seeds were formed and attached onto the mercaptosilica nanospheres through Brust-like, in situ process, which makes this method extremely time-saving and easy to manipulate. Importantly, the key factors affecting the in situ process were demonstrated, allowing fine control on the synthesis in a highly reproducible manner. The as-synthesized nanoshells are monodisperse with well-defined morphology and tunable near-IR plasmon resonance. Furthermore, other metal nanoparticles such as Pt and Pd could be grafted onto the surface of mercaptosilica nanospheres through the same Brust-like, in situ process. These provide new insights into seed attachment, and the improved seed-mediated growth approach based on Brust-like, in situ seed formation will take an important step forward toward the widespread application of gold nanoshells.

The present study proposed a novel and highly selective and sensitive method for Ag+ ion detection based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) anti-aggregation. Thiamazole can induce AuNPs aggregation due to electrostatic interactions, which result in color transitions in the AuNPs solution from red to blue. However, the presence of Ag+ ions results in the preferential combination of the pyridinic nitrogen of thiamazole with the Ag+ ions. In addition, the Ag+ ions oxidize the sulfhydryl groups(-SH), which inhibit AuNPs aggregation and prompt a color change from blue to red. As a result, the present study established a method for Ag+ ion determination by AuNPs-thiamazole colorimetric probe based on the aforementioned anti-aggregation mechanism. The probe dynamic range was easily tuned via adjustments of the thiamazole amount. The relationship between the Ag+ concentration and AuNPs aggregation was monitored by ultraviolet–visible light (UV–Vis) spectroscopy at a dynamic range of 0.1 nM–9 μM and at a detection limit of 0.042 nM. The river water and tap water recovery analysis validated the successful operation of this colorimetric sensor in environmental monitoring.

In the process of continuous expansion of data and continuous expansion of the system, various data relations and data forms form crisscross connections, forming an extremely complex network diagram. If there is an error in the data, how do we quickly lock the cause of the problem? How do we find out which entities are affected by the implications or changes of the problem? These issues create challenges and pressures for large-scale, enterprise-level data platforms. The paper proposes to use data blood analysis to solve the relationship among tens of millions of tables. To get this kind of more underlying blood information, we need to add embedded parts to the execution engine, which will be fed into the blood relationship collection system using push mode when the job is executed. The paper is to implement field level blood relationship analysis in the data warehouse of China Commercial bank on the architecture of Teradata, and separated it from the ETL process and made it into a single part. By parsing multiple ETL jobs, we get a number of mapping relationship of atoms, and atoms and relationships make up the molecules that form the blood relationship network we need. This experimental scheme can be simply embedded into the data platform by eliminating the complexity of the system and achieving a separate component structure. The blood relationship can be conducted any time and temporary scripts and error logic of related data will have no data pollution on the data blood relationship.

In scientific research management projects, if the process model changes, without a workflow technology, the codes need to be modified and the workload of modification will increase significantly. After introducing a flexible workflow technology, what can be done is to directly define the new process model. This paper mainly introduces ECA rules on the basis of workflow meta-model to design a flexible workflow: the ECA rules will express execution logics of the basic workflow, and the basic elements of the process model in the approval process of scientific research projects will be represented by ECA. The design of the flexible workflow in scientific research management system will include flexible workflow engine and the process approval platform for scientific research project management with ECA rule analysis. The flexible workflow implemented in this paper can better guide the workflow engine to adapt to the current environment, and decide the different execution process according to the specific process instance contexts. The method proposed in this paper better supports the needs of scientific research project management.

We report here the design and facile synthesis of multifunctional gold nanostars based nanocomposites (MGSNs) through direct organosilica coating onto anisotropic gold nanostars followed by the conjugation of Gd chelates. The as-synthesized MGSNs possess strong NIR absorbance, SERS signal and enhanced T1-MR imaging capability with excellent dispersivity and uniform size, as well as great photothermal stability and Raman stability under photothermal conditions. Importantly, MGSNs present excellent performance in vivo after their intravenous injection for both MR and SERS imaging and the high efficiency for killing tumor cells through photothermal ablation with NIR irradiation. A combination of the high spatial resolution of MR and the exciting sub-cell-level sensitivity and resolution of SERS can provide comprehensive information about the tumor to achieve the optimized therapeutic outcome. Therefore, MGSNs are of great potential as a multifunctional nanoplatform for MR-SERS bimodal imaging-guided, focused photothermal tumor therapy.

Based on the selective recognition of the polyethylene (PE) block of polyethylene-block-poly(ethylene glycol) (PE-b-PEG) by 1,4-diethoxypillar[5]arene (DEP5A), two novel thermo and competitive guest (1,4-dibromobutane or hexanedinitrile) responsive polypseudorotaxanes (PPRs) have been successfully constructed. The formation of PPRs both in solution and in the solid state was demonstrated by (1)H NMR, 2D NOESY, and WAXD analyses. TGA data illustrate that PPRs exhibit higher thermal stability than their precursor diblock copolymers. Moreover, intriguing porous disk-like aggregates are produced by electrospraying of PPRs in CHCl3 and the self-assembled structures of PPRs are totally changed by the addition of 1,4-dibromobutane or hexanedinitrile, demonstrating their competitive guest stimuli-responsiveness.

Splitting and merging data is a requirement for many parallel or distributed processing operations. Naive algorithms to split and merge 3D blocks from ultra-high resolution images perform very poorly, as a result of seek times. In contrast, naive algorithms to split and merge 3D slabs perform optimally as seek time is significantly minimized. We introduce and analyze sequential algorithms (Clustered reads, Multiple reads, Clustered writes, and Multiple writes) that leverage memory buffering to address this issue. Clustered reads and Clustered writes, access image chunks only once, but they have to seek in the reconstructed image. Multiple reads and Multiple writes minimize seeks in the reconstructed image, but they access image chunks multiple times. Evaluation on a 3850×3025×3500 brain image shows that our algorithms perform similarly to the optimal configuration provided that enough memory is available. Additionally, Multiple reads supports on-the-fly compression of the merged image transparently but Clustered reads does not, due to its use of negative seeking. We conclude that splitting and merging large 3D images can be done efficiently without relying on complex data formats.

Background Trichophyton mentagrophytes is an important zoonotic dermatophytic (ringworm) pathogen; causing severe skin infection in humans and other animals worldwide. Fortunately, commonly used fungal skin disease prevention and treatment measures are relatively simple. However, T. mentagrophytes is primarily studied at the epidemiology and drug efficacy research levels, yet current study has been unable to meet the needs of clinical medicine. Zinc is a crucial trace element for the growth and reproduction of fungi and other microorganisms. The metal ions coordinate within a variety of proteins to form zinc finger proteins, which perform many vital biological functions. Zinc transport regulatory networks have not been resolved in T. mentagrophytes. The T. mentagrophytes transcriptome will allow us to discover new genes, particularly those genes involved in zinc uptake. Result We found T. mentagrophytes growth to be restricted by zinc deficiency; natural T. mentagrophytes growth requires zinc ions. T. Mentagrophytes must acquire zinc ions for growth and development. The transcriptome of T. mentagrophytes was sequenced by using Illumina HiSeq™ 2000 technology and the de novo assembly of the transcriptome was performed by using the Trinity method, and functional annotation was analyzed. We got 10,751 unigenes. The growth of T. mentagrophytes is severely inhibited and there were many genes showing significant up regulation and down regulation respectively in T. mentagrophytes when zinc deficiency. Zinc deficiency can affect the expression of multiple genes of T. mentagrophytes. The effect of the zinc deficiency could be recovered in the normal medium. And we finally found the zinc-responsive activating factor (ZafA) and speculated that 4 unigenes are zinc transporters. We knocked ZafA gene by ATMT transformation in T. mentagrophytes, the result showed that ZafA gene is very important for the growth and the generation of conidia in T. mentagrophytes. The expression of 4 zinc transporter genes is potentially regulated by the zinc-responsive activating factor. The data of this study is also sufficient to be used as a support to study T. mentagrophytes. Conclusion We reported the first large transcriptome study carried out in T. mentagrophytes where we have compared physiological and transcriptional responses to zinc deficiency, and analyzed the expression of genes involved in zinc uptake. The study also produced high-resolution digital profiles of global genes expression relating to T. mentagrophytes growth. The treatment options for patients with a urethral defect are limited by the availability of autologous tissues. We hypothesized that transplantation of decellularized human amniotic scaffolds (dHAS) seeded with allogeneic bone marrow mesenchymal cells (BMSCs) and/or endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) may serve as a promising repair strategy for long segment of circumferential urethral defect. To verify the hypothesis, with urinary catheterization, a 3-cm segment of whole urethra in 25 male mongrel dogs was excised and replaced by dHAS seeded with allogeneic BMSCs and/or EPCs. Postoperative observation and ascending urethrogram found that dHAS+BMSCs+EPCs and dHAS+EPCs groups demonstrated unhindered urination and capacious urethral caliber, which were similar to the normal group, while urethrostenosis was revealed in dHAS+BMSCs, dHAS, and sham-operated groups, with the shortest narrow section in dHAS+BMSCs group and the longest in sham-operated group. Urethral anatomy check and histological analyses showed that new urethral mucosa composed of stratified columnar epithelium completely covered on the inner surface of the graft site in dHAS+BMSCs+EPCs and dHAS+EPCs groups, but the middle epithelium was thin in dHAS+EPCs group, while incompletely covered in dHAS+BMSCs, dHAS, and sham-operated groups, and there were monolayer epithelial cells at the urethrostenosis in dHAS+BMSCs and dHAS groups. In addition, abundant new vessel and blood sinus showed at submucosa in dHAS+BMSCs+EPCs and dHAS+EPCs groups, instead of the scar tissue of collagen deposition and structural distortion at the urethrostenosis in dHAS+BMSCs, dHAS, and sham-operated groups. This study demonstrates that dHAS seeded with BMSCs+EPCs or EPCs can successfully repair a 3-cm circumferential urethral defect in model dogs, but the former works best. In this work, carbon fiber clothes (CFC) supported 1T phase MoS2 anode material is synthesized through a one-pot hydrothermal method. The CFC-MoS2 composites has high specific capacitance of 1485.08 F g−1 at the current density of 2 A g−1, and the 54% of initial capacitance can be remained at the current density reached to 15 A g−1. The 87.5% of initial capacitance can be harvested even at the ceaseless cycled for 10,000 cycles at 4 A g−1. In addition, the MgAl layered double hydroxides and graphene oxide (MgAl-LDH-GO) cathode composite material is synthesized. The MgAl-LDH-GO cathode exhibits high specific capacitance (1208.50 F g−1 at 1 A g−1) and long cycle life (76.9% retention during 10,000 cycles). Finally, we successfully assemble the CFC-MoS2//MgAl-LDH-GO asymmetric supercapacitor. It has high energy density of 326.54 Wh kg−1 at power density of 1500 W kg−1, and the energy density can be remained at 279.56 Wh kg−1 even the power density reach to 12 kW kg−1. Hydrophilic, fluorescent hybrid nanoprobes (NDI@HNPs) encapsulated with the hydrophobic pH-responsive fluorophore (N,N'-di-n-dodecyl-2,6-di(4-methyl-piperazin-1-yl)naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetracarboxylic acid diimide, NDI) for recognizing and mapping the route of cell phagocytosis have been fabricated based on the self-assembly of amphiphilic diblock copolymer PS-b-PAA and the subsequent shell cross-linking with 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxy silane (MPTMS). The as-synthesized NDI@HNPs has a typical spherical morphology of 46 nm in diameter with excellent monodispersity in aqueous solution. The NDI@HNPs probe exhibits extremely low cytotoxicity, fast real time pH response and enhanced fluorescence intensity under acidic environment with respect to the corresponding free dye in highly polar aqueous system because of the encapsulation of NDI molecules inside nanoparticle cores with weak polarity environment. The fluorescence intensity of NDI@HNPs is enhanced by 55-fold upon changing from neutral (pH = 7.4) or basic (pH = 8.4) to acid (pH = 3.4) in aqueous system, in contrast to the serious fluorescence quenching of free NDI in the same medium, which can exactly meet the physiological pH range in cells. The favorably long emission wavelength is beneficial to the low scattering and minimal interfering requirements to fluorescent bioimaging.
