Abstract The surge in 3D modelling has led to a pronounced research emphasis on the field of 3D shape retrieval. Numerous contemporary approaches have been put forth to tackle this intricate challenge. Nevertheless, effectively addressing the intricacies of cross‐modal 3D shape retrieval remains a formidable undertaking, owing to inherent modality‐based disparities. The authors present an innovative notion—termed “geometric words”—which functions as elemental constituents for representing entities through combinations. To establish the knowledge graph, the authors employ geometric words as nodes, connecting them via shape categories and geometry attributes. Subsequently, a unique graph embedding method for knowledge acquisition is devised. Finally, an effective similarity measure is introduced for retrieval purposes. Importantly, each 3D or 2D entity can anchor its geometric terms within the knowledge graph, thereby serving as a link between cross‐domain data. As a result, the authors’ approach facilitates multiple cross‐domain 3D shape retrieval tasks. The authors evaluate the proposed method's performance on the ModelNet40 and ShapeNetCore55 datasets, encompassing scenarios related to 3D shape retrieval and cross‐domain retrieval. Furthermore, the authors employ the established cross‐modal dataset (MI3DOR) to assess cross‐modal 3D shape retrieval. The resulting experimental outcomes, in conjunction with comparisons against state‐of‐the‐art techniques, clearly highlight the superiority of our approach.

As a common-used pothole repairing material, cold mix patching asphalt (CMA) has been widely used in practice. This article aims to develop a novel CMA with good overall performance and better environmental-friendliness. A few environmental-friendly ingredients, including a modifier named Usual-temperature Synthetic Pitch (USP), polyester-basalt composite fibers, a commercial anti-stripping agent, a commercial tackifier and biodiesel, were utilized for preparing Fiber-reinforced USP modified CMAs (FUAs). Laboratory tests, including workability assessment tests, Marshall stability tests, boiling water tests, rolling sieve cohesion tests, freeze-thaw splitting tests, wheel tracking tests and three-point bending tests, etc. were conducted to evaluate the workability, Marshall stability, adhesion, moisture susceptibility, rutting resistance, bending resistance and storage stability. Two mix designs of the cutback (termed as Scheme 1 and 2) with weight ratios of 100:6:18:0.3:0.6 and 100:6:20:0.4:0.8 for binder: USP: biodiesel: anti-stripping agent: tackifier were considered. Effect of fiber content (0.2%, 0.3%, 0.4% and 0.5% by aggregate weight) was also investigated considering an optimal polyester to basalt fiber weight ratio of 3:2. The results show that the optimal fiber content is 0.4%. The engineering properties of FUAs meet the construction requirements, and they also present good storage stability. Scheme 2-based cutback shows better workability, smaller penetration and better binder-aggregate adhesion than the Scheme 1-based cutback; consequently, the Scheme 2-based FUA presents advantages over Marshall stability, rutting resistance and bending resistance. Compared with Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) modified CMAs, FUAs possess better overall performance and advantages over environmental conservation. The FUAs, therefore, have good application prospects in pavement repair.

As the global prototypical zoonotic hantavirus, Hantaan virus (HTNV) is prevalent in Asia and is the leading causative agent of severe hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), which has profound morbidity and mortality. Macrophages are crucial components of the host innate immune system and serve as the first line of defense against HTNV infection. Previous studies indicated that the viral replication efficiency in macrophages determines hantavirus pathogenicity, but it remains unknown which factor manipulates the macrophage activation pattern and the virus-host interaction process. Here, we performed the transcriptomic analysis of HTNV-infected mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages and identified the long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1), especially the isoform NEAT1-2, as one of the lncRNAs that is differentially expressed at the early phase. Based on coculture experiments, we revealed that silencing NEAT1-2 hinders inflammatory macrophage activation and facilitates HTNV propagation, while enhancing NEAT1-2 transcription effectively restrains viral replication. Furthermore, sterol response element binding factor-2 (SREBP2), which controls the cholesterol metabolism process, was found to stimulate macrophages by promoting the production of multiple inflammatory cytokines upon HTNV infection. NEAT1-2 could potentiate SREBP2 activity by upregulating Srebf1 expression and interacting with SREBP2, thus stimulating inflammatory macrophages and limiting HTNV propagation. More importantly, we demonstrated that the NEAT1-2 expression level in patient monocytes was negatively correlated with viral load and HFRS disease progression. Our results identified a function and mechanism of action for the lncRNA NEAT1 in heightening SREBP2-mediated macrophage activation to restrain hantaviral propagation and revealed the association of NEAT1 with HFRS severity.

Suspension waterjet peening is an emerging technology for surface modification. Coverage is a key factor affecting the integrity of a modified material surface, however such an experimental method that can be utilized for precise control has not yet been established. To determine the numerical value of coverage after surface peening treatment, In this paper, a coverage analytical method was proposed and then verified by the results through experiments. Furthermore, to explore the impact of high coverage on surface integrity, a large-scale coverage peening modification was performed on 18CrNiMo7-6 carburized steel specimens using a specialized suspension waterjet equipment. The results indicate that coverage has a significant impact on roughness and compressive residual stress field, with the highest improvement on surface and their maximum values reaching 51.6% and 24.7%, respectively. It is shown that the fatigue performance of the specimens can be significantly enhanced.

Ultra-high frequency radio frequency identification (UHF RFID) localization technique has been considered increasingly promising in indoor positioning systems. However, conventional localization algorithms are vulnerable in multipath and non-line of sight (NLOS) environments. To solve this problem, this paper presents an indoor localization method based on angle of arrival and phase difference of arrival (PDOA) using virtual stations for passive UHF RFID. We use the array antenna to distinguish multipath signals and choose the two strongest paths according to the received signal strength to perform localization. The angles of the two paths are obtained through the phase difference of the received signals at different array elements, and the distances of the two paths are estimated through PDOA measurement. After obtaining the angles and distances, we establish virtual stations to convert NLOS paths into LOS paths. The possible positions of the tag are calculated through virtual stations, angle, and distance information, which are derived from the two signal paths. Then, the weighted least squares combined with residual weighted algorithm are proposed to calculate real position of the tag. Simulation results demonstrate that our method achieves decimeter level accuracy and has higher precision than traditional algorithms.

Impact loads may cause serious or even fatal damage to the structure (component), in most existing specifications in China, and there are no special terms that take impact load into consideration. So, the response analysis of the structure (component) under impact loads is very important. In this paper, the sensitivity analysis was conducted for the 22 parameters of the Holmquist–Johnson concrete (HJC) constitutive model of concrete, and the sensitive parameters of the HJC model are identified with A, B, G, Pl, μl, and fc respectively. LS-DYNA nonlinear transient finite element analysis code was used for this paper. Based on the validation of finite element modeling and choosing midspan deflection of RC beams and impact loads as response indices, some influencing factors on RC beams under falling weight impact were investigated, such as the mass and speed of falling weight, impact position, the strength of concrete and rebar, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, and the span of the beam.

The paper presents a joint subcarrier-pair based resource allocation algorithm in order to improve the efficiency and fairness of cooperative multiuser orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MU-OFDM) cognitive radio (CR) systems. A communication model where one source node communicates with one destination node assisted by one half-duplex decode-and-forward (DF) relay is considered in the paper. An interference-limited environment is considered, with the constraint of transmitted sum-power over all channels and aggregate average interference towards multiple primary users (PUs). The proposed resource allocation algorithm is capable of maximizing both the system transmission efficiency and fairness among secondary users (SUs). Besides, the proposed algorithm can also keep the interference introduced to the PU bands below a threshold. A proportional fairness constraint is used to assure that each SU can achieve a required data rate, with quality of service guarantees. Moreover, we extend the analysis to the scenario where each cooperative SU has no channel state information (CSI) about non-adjacent links. We analyzed the throughput and fairness tradeoff in CR system. A detailed analysis of the performance of the proposed algorithm is presented with the simulation results.
