This paper describes synchronized injection method of distributed inter-harmonic currents, and inspection of new islanding operation detection method for clustering installation as its application. If small distributed generators (DG) interconnected with low voltage system are installed under clustering, when a intersystem fault occur between high and low voltage grid, islanding phenomena will pose a problem. The following methods are conventionally considered as a measure.(1) Method by distribution system facilities(2) Application of conventional islanding detection method (indirect detection of earth fault)However, the subject of maintenance of a system occurs by (1). The subject to which detection time becomes long depending on system conditions can be considered by (2). Then, in order to solve these subjects, we developed this new method.

Biopterin-α-glucoside purified from Spirulina platensis is stable to irradiation by visible and ultraviolet light. Its absorption spectrum shows maxima at 268 nm and 340 nm and a fluorescence band appears at 447 nm. Although cyanidin-3-galactoside with an absorption maximum at 514 nm (red colour) is unstable and is decolourized by UV light, the pigment becomes stable in the presence of biopterin-α-glucoside. Similar photostabilization phenomenon was observed for phycocyanin (λ max 614 nm) consisting of phycocyanobilin as chromophore and protein subunits α 3 β 3 in the presence of biopterin-α-glucoside. Although the chromophore of phycocyanin is related to phycocyanobilin and protein conformation, the chromophore can be stabilized to UV light in the presence of biopterin-α-glucoside.

Radiation enteritis can cause late complications including stenosis, perforation, fistulization, and bleeding, which sometimes necessitate surgical treatment, but a complication of ileocutaneous fistula is rarely reported. In this paper an excellent result of an operation for ileocutaneous fistula due to radiation enteritis is described. A 68-year-old woman had undergone extended total histerectomy and radiation therapy on uterine cervical cancer. After the operation and the radiation therapy, frequent abdominal pain bothered her and then the intestinal fistula ensued resulted in the fistulization. The fistula was located between two stenotic lesions of the intestine caused by radiation enteritis. Resection of ileum including the two stenotic lesion and the fistula and end-to-end anastomosis relieved the symptoms and the treatment course has been satisfactory. The two stenotic lesions was resected because it was suggested that the two stenotic lesions directly led the fistulization. She is now followed asymptomatically.

A 68-year-old male presented with choroid plexus carcinoma in the left lateral ventricle manifesting as dysarthria and gait disturbance. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a homogeneously enhanced mass in the trigone of the left lateral ventricle. Selective left posterior cerebral arteriography showed the tumor was fed by the left medial posterior choroidal artery. Detailed examinations found no evidence of an extraneural primary focus. He underwent partial removal of the tumor followed by local Lineac irradiation (50 Gy). After irradiation, the serum level of carcinoembryonic antigen decreased and the size of the residual tumor was reduced.

Seventy-five patients with carcinoma of the true vocal cord were treated with curative intent by radiotherapy at Kure National Hospital between 1977 and 1997. All tumors were classified according to stage (T1, T2 and T3), degree of differentiation (well-differentiated, moderately differentiated, poorly differentiated and unknown), and size (very small, small and large). All patients were treated using a cobalt-60 unit to a total dose that ranged from 56 Gy to 64 Gy (mean, 60 Gy). The mean treatment time was 44 days (range, 38-50 days). The local control and ultimate local control rates at 5 years were 75.8% and 91.4% for all patients, respectively. Univariate analysis showed that tumor size (p=0.0350) and stage T (p=0.0416) affected local control. In multivariate analysis, tumor size was the only significant factor that affected local control (p=0.0012). The most significant factor that affected local control was tumor size in laryngoscopic findings. Tumor size was inversely related to local control.

Primary malignant lymphoma of the breast is rare. Among 86 cases of this disease reported in Japan, only seven have shown leukemic manifestation. In the present paper a case of primary malignant lymphoma of the breast resulting in leukemic manifestation is reported together with a reveiw of literature.A 78-year-old female with a tumor 8.0 cm in diameter in the left superior lateral breast underwent modified mastectomy. The disease was histologically diagnosed as plasmacytoid immunoblastic lymphoma of the B-cell type. Based on the Ann Arbor classification, it was categorized as stage IEA malignant lymphoma originating from the breast. Despite postoperative radiotherapy and VEPA therapy, the patient presented local recurrence in the 3rd month after operation and leukemic manifestation in the 6th month. She died in the 7th month.

Six patients were treated with transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE). Three patients suffered from intractable genital bleeding; the other three patients were preoperative cases of a stage III adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix and two of these had gestational trophoblastic disease. Bleeding was stopped in all three cases of intractable hemorrhage; one patient rebled after 6 days. In the three preoperative cases, transcatheter arterial embolization was thought to be effective in decreasing intraoperative blood loss. There are no other reports of application of this technique to preoperative cases to decrease intraoperative blood loss in gynecological cases.

A 65-year-old previously healthy housewife, gravida 3, para 3, was first diagnosed as Stage Ib carcinoma of the uterine cervix (poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma) and admitted. The external radiation of 5400 rad by telecobalt source was performed. No intracavitary radiation was added. After about 7 1/2 years the patient noticed a tumor of fist size on her buttocks, but she did not present in our clinic regularly. Because of enlarging tumor and general malaise she was readmitted a year later. On the fifth hospital day she died with ileus. Autopsy revealed osteosarcoma of buttocks in the radiation field, stomach cancer (tubular adenocarcinoma) with perforated peritonitis, and invasive mole of the uterine corpus. The patient's last pregnancy terminated as a full-term delivery at 26 years of age and she was 43 years at her menopause. The dormant period of invasive mole was 47 years after her last pregnancy, 30 years after her menopause, and at least 8 years after pelvic radiation.
