Sodium chloride (NaCl) was added as a space holder in synthesis of porous titanium by using metal injection molding(MIM) method. The microstructure and mechanical properties of porous titanium were analyzed by mercury porosimeter, scanning electron microscope(SEM) and compression tester. The results show that the content of NaCl influences the porosity of porous titanium significantly. Porous titanium powders with porosity in the range of 42.4%–71.6% and pore size up to 300 μm were fabricated. The mechanical test shows that with increasing NaCl content, the compressive strength decreases from 316.6 to 17.5 MPa and the elastic modulus decreases from 3.03 to 0.28 GPa.

In the title compound, C25H27N3O·0.25H2O, the minimum and maximum C—C bond lengths in the cyclo­pentane ring are 1.444 (3) and 1.489 (3) A, respectively. In the crystal structure, mol­ecules are linked by weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Crystals of the title compound, C6H12N2O, were obtained from the reduction–hydro­lysis reaction of 1-amino-1-cyclo­pentane­carbo­nitrile oxalate and the structure was determined in the monoclinic space group C2/c. There are two independent mol­ecules in the asymmetric unit and these assume different conformations. In the two cyclo­pentane rings, the minimum C—C bond length is 1.456 (3) A and the maximum is 1.531 (3) A. The weighted mean C—C bond length [1.483 (9) A] of the two cyclo­pentane rings is obviously shortened in comparison with the average literature value [1.543 (18) A] for a cyclo­pentane C—C bond. Hydro­gen bonds of the N—H⋯O, N—H⋯N and C—H⋯O types are the principal intermolecular interactions.
