Abstract

Despite extensive research on Fe-based materials for soil cadmium(Cd) passivation, the combined effects with Ca agents on rice Cd migration remain unclear. This study examined the effects of NZVI, FeSO4 and their mixtures with CaCO3 on iron plaque formation and Cd translocation in rice plants grown in Cd-contaminated paddy soils. Results showed both NZVI and FeSO4 significantly increased rice biomass. FeSO4, NZVI, FeSO4+CaCO3, and NZVI+CaCO3 enhanced iron plaque by 65%, 72%, 77%, and 20%, respectively. Cd adsorption by iron plaque increased by 88% with FeSO4, 39% with NZVI, 49% with FeSO4+CaCO3, and decreased by 44% with NZVI+CaCO3. All treatments reduced Cd content in rice tissues, with brown rice Cd concentrations reduced by 66% with FeSO4, 58% with FeSO4+CaCO3, 45% with NZVI, and 39% with NZVI+CaCO3, respectively. This study highlights Fe-based amendments' potential in safely utilizing Cd-contaminated farmlands, showing standalone Fe treatments outperform Fe-Ca combination for reducing Cd in brown rice. 16. Dynamic Event-Triggered Asynchronous Fault Detection via Zonotopic Threshold Analysis for Fuzzy Hidden Markov Jump Systems Subject to Generally Hybrid Probabilities

Abstract

This article addresses the asynchronous fault detection (FD) problem for fuzzy hidden Markov jump systems with generally hybrid probabilities under limited communication. To reduce network load, a novel bandwidth-aware dynamic event-triggered communication scheme (DETCS) is developed to transmit necessary sampled signals, where the threshold coefficient in the triggered protocol can be dynamically adjusted over time in accordance with both the system dynamics and bandwidth status. A multiple-hierarchical structure is constructed to simultaneously describe both the mismatch of premise variables due to the introduction of the DETCS and the mode asynchronization between the filter and the plant, where the mode asynchronization is fully characterized by a hidden Markov model with generally hybrid transition probabilities and mode detection probabilities. By applying the double variables-based decoupling principle and variable substitution principle, a co-design criterion for DETCS and optimal $\mathscr {L}_{\infty }/\mathscr {H}_{\infty }$ asynchronous reduced-order FD filter in the finite-frequency domain is derived and given by an exact expression. Besides, unlike the constant thresholds in existing FD works, an innovative zonotope-based dynamic threshold strategy is developed for residual evaluation. Finally, two illustrative examples are utilized to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract

Tomb No. 2 of Tushan in Xuzhou is the tomb of King Chu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and it was an important archaeological discovery in China. The unique placement and crafting techniques of a lacquer coffin that was unearthed from the burial corridor are of significant importance in the study of tombs. In order to characterise the sample's microstructure, elemental composition, and structural composition, as well as to study the crafting techniques of the coffin in the corridor, a range of analytical techniques were employed, including ultra-depth microscopy, scanning electron microscopy with SEM-EDS, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, and XRD. The results indicate that the cross-sectional structure of the fragments comprises a pigment layer and a lacquer ash layer, with the latter being further divided into tile ash and bone ash layers. No lacquer film layer was observed. The primary colouring agent in the pigment layer was HgS, which contained a minor quantity of organic binder. The primary component of the tile ash layer was quartz, while the osseous ash layer comprised particles and collagen derived from mammalian bones. The lacquer crafting technique employed in the construction of the coffin was relatively simple and inconsistent with the assumption of it having a noble status. The findings of this research offer experimental data for the identification, preservation, and technical restoration of the corridor coffin in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

23. Adaptive Fuzzy Resilient Decentralized Control for Nonlinear Large-Scale CPSs Under DoS Attacks

Abstract

In this article, by using the output feedback information, an adaptive fuzzy decentralized controller for a class of nonlinear large-scale cyber–physical systems (CPSs) is developed. The considered system encompass unmeasurable states and are susceptible to denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. The approximations of unknown nonlinear functions are achieved through the utilization of fuzzy logic systems, and a switching-type fuzzy state estimator is proposed to obtain the estimations of unavailable system states. Through the application of adaptive backstepping design mechanism and the dynamic surface control method, an adaptive fuzzy output feedback decentralized controller is ultimately proposed. By utilizing a combination of Lyapunov stability theory and average dwell time, it is demonstrated that the proposed adaptive fuzzy decentralized resilient controller ensures that the tracking errors converge to a small bounded neighborhood under the circumstance of DoS attacks, and all signals of CPS are bounded. The efficiency of the proposed approach is validated through simulation studies of a nonlinear inverted pendulum large-scale system.
