1. Deep Reinforcement Learning for Mobile Robot Path Planning

Abstract

Path planning is an important problem with the the applications in many aspects, such as video games, robotics etc. This paper proposes a novel method to address the problem of Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) based path planning for a mobile robot. We design DRL-based algorithms, including reward functions, and parameter optimization, to avoid time-consuming work in a 2D environment. We also designed an Two-way search hybrid A* algorithm to improve the quality of local path planning. We transferred the designed algorithm to a simple embedded environment to test the computational load of the algorithm when running on a mobile robot. Experiments show that when deployed on a robot platform, the DRL-based algorithm in this article can achieve better planning results and consume less computing resources.

Abstract

Rationally designed multiporphyrinic architectures for boosting photodynamic therapy (PDT) have attracted significant attentions recently years due to their great potential for light‐mediated generation of reactive oxygen species. However, there is still a gap between the structure design and their PDT performance for biomedical applications. This tutorial review provides a historical overview on (i) the basic concept of PDT for deeply understanding the porphyrin‐mediated PDT reactions, (ii) developing strategies for constructing porphyrinic architectures, like nanorings, boxes, metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent‐organic frameworks (COFs), vesicles, etc., where we classified into the following three categories: multiporphyrin arrays, porphyrinic frameworks, and others porphyrin assemblies, (iii) the various application scenarios for clinical cancer therapy and antibacterial infection. Also, the existing challenges and future perspectives on the innovation of porphyrinic architectures for clinical PDT applications are mentioned in the end section. Moreover, the porphyrinic nanomaterials with atomically precise architectures provide an ideal platform for investigating the relationship between structures and PDT outputs, design of personalized "all‐in‐one" theranostic agents, and the popularization and application in wider biomedical fields. Abstract

Objective: To investigate the efficacy of faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) and its effect on gastrointestinal motility (GM) and immune function. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 47 UC patients. The patients were divided into an observation group (n=17, treated with FMT) and a control group (n=30, treated with conventional treatment) according to the treatment regimen. In the observation group, FMT was used to treat colonic lesions by transplanting colonic bacteria fluid from healthy people. Clinical efficacy, immune function, level of inflammatory factors and gastrointestinal function of the two groups were observed before and after treatment. Abstract

A series of single‐chain random heteropolymer (RHP)‐derived artificial ion channels with both high K+ selectivity and controllable pH‐gated behaviors were fabricated by a facile "one‐pot" polymerization method. The benzo‐18‐crown‐6 moieties appended on lateral chains of RHPs can form ion‐permeable nanopores and transport K+ over Na+ through the lipid bilayers. The ion permeation selectivity was significantly enhanced by incorporating a cholesterol group to serve as a membrane anchor. Interestingly, similar to natural gated protein channels, on–off switchable characteristics were also realized by integrating an additional acid‐sensitive alkylamine group into the RHP‐derived channel. The unique design strategies have endowed the RHP‐derived ion channels with facile synthetic procedures, desirable membrane compatibility, high K+ selectivity, and tunable pH‐gated properties.
