The c. 270 endemic species of Pedicularis in the Himalaya–Hengduan Mountains (HHM) region exhibit high diversity in geographic distribution, elevational range and floral morphology. Many of these, including the species with the longest corolla tubes and beaked galeas, are monophyletic and represent a putative in situ radiation. In this study, we focus on the representative Clade 3 within the HHM region. We integrate the plastid phylogeny of this clade with environmental data and species distributions to infer environmental correlates of species diversity. We estimate macroevolutionary rates and reconstructed ancestral states for geographic ranges and corolla traits, and analyse patterns of range overlap and niche evolution to assess drivers of diversification in the HHM region. Our results show that the region from northwest Yunnan to southwest Sichuan is the centre of diversity for this clade of Pedicularis. Rates of diversification are associated with precipitation and multiple environmental factors. Multiple range expansions from the Sanjiang (Three Parallel Rivers) region, followed by allopatric speciation across the HHM region, contributed to early rapid diversification. Corolla traits are not significantly associated with species diversification. This study highlights the importance of integrated evidence for understanding species diversification dynamics and contributes to our understanding of the origins of the remarkable richness of plant species in the HHM region. ObjectiveTo evaluate the safety and clinical effect of tubular esophagogastric anastomosis in laparoscopic radical proximal gastrectomy.MethodsA retrospective analysis was conducted involving 191 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical proximal gastrectomy in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from January 2017 to October 2020. Patients were divided into tubular esophagogastric anastomosis group (TG group) and traditional esophagogastric anastomosis group (EG group) according to the digestive tract reconstruction. Their intraoperative conditions, perioperative recovery and postoperative follow-up were compared. Patients were also divided into indocyanine green group and non-indocyanine green group according to whether or not indocyanine green tracer technology was used during the operation. Their intraoperative condition and perioperative recovery were compared and analyzed after propensity score matching.ResultsThe operation was successfully completed in all patients. Compared with the EG group, the TG group had less volume of gastric tube drainage, shorter gastric tube drainage time and proton pump inhibitors application time, and lower reuse rate of proton pump inhibitors. However, the TG group had a higher anastomotic stenosis at three months after surgery, as measured using anastomotic width and dysphagia score. Nevertheless, the incidence of reflux esophagitis and postoperative quality of life score in the TG group were lower compared with the EG group at 1st and 2nd year after surgery. In the indocyanine green analysis, the indocyanine green group had significantly shorter total operation time and lymph node dissection time and less intraoperative blood loss compared with the non-indocyanine green group. However, compared with the non-indocyanine green group, more postoperative lymph nodes were obtained in the indocyanine green group.ConclusionLaparoscopic radical proximal gastrectomy is safe and effective treatment option for upper gastric cancer. Tubular esophagogastric anastomosis has more advantages in restoring postoperative gastrointestinal function and reducing reflux, but it has a higher incidence of postoperative anastomotic stenosis compared with traditional esophagogastrostomy. The application of indocyanine green tracer technique in laparoscopic radical proximal gastrectomy has positive significance.

During the fuel injection process, there is competition, merging, and entrainment between the Rayleigh–Taylor and Kelvin–Helmholtz instabilities, eventually leading to the formation of jet turbulence. The associated vortex dynamics is crucial for understanding the micro-evolution of surface waves on fuel spray. Considering the characteristics of fuel jet with large density ratios, a pressure-corrected multiphase lattice Boltzmann flux solver is proposed in this study, coupled with the Cahn–Hilliard model, to capture the micro-scale evolution of diesel spray. The spray evolution during the primary breakup, under simulated engine operating conditions, is systematically conducted by defining the parameters of vortex dynamics. According to the growth feature of vortex velocity, the microscopic evolution during the primary breakup can be divided into five stages: diffusion growth, exponential growth, potential flow growth, re-acceleration, and chaotic mixing (CM), providing a theoretical basis for the instability analysis of spray breakup. The growth of the Rayleigh–Taylor instability is determined by the competitive relationship between buoyancy and viscous dissipation forces. In cases of higher density ratios, the buoyancy-driven Kelvin–Helmholtz and the secondary growth Rayleigh–Taylor waves mutually advance, elongate, disintegrate, and finally breakup. Therefore, the influence of the density ratio on tail velocities shows a scenario of first promoting and then inhibiting. As the density ratio increases, the instability reaches the CM stage of asymmetric development more quickly by undergoing complex vortical motions. At this stage, there is a complicated phenomenology associated with the evolution of spray interface, including multiscale curling, severe deformation, vortex disintegration, and droplet breakup, eventually leading to turbulence. The genus Dahlia has approximately 40 species; however, the complete chloroplast genome has been reported only for one species. Due to this lack of information on the chloroplast genomes, the phylogenetic relationships within the Dahlia genus remain unclear. Therefore, the present study sequenced the complete chloroplast genome of D. imperialis for the first time. This genome was 152,084 bp long with a typical quadripartite structure and a GC content of 38.45%. A total of 134 genes were annotated in the genome, including 86 protein-coding genes, 38 transfer RNA genes, 8 ribosomal RNA genes, and 2 pseudogenes. The detailed analysis identified UUA as the most frequently used codon and found 62 intergenic repeat sequences and 157 SSR loci in the D. imperialis genome. Phylogenetic analysis based on 49 chloroplast genomes showed that Dahlia was a monophyletic group, with D. imperialis positioned at the base of this clade. Network evolution and gene flow analysis unveiled extensive hybridization events within the Heliantheae alliance, especially in Dahlia. Thus, the comprehensive analysis of the complete chloroplast genome of D. imperialis enriches the information on the genetic resources of the Dahlia species, provides valuable information for reconstructing their phylogeny, and reveals the evolutionary dynamics of the Dahlia chloroplast genome.
