To clarify the current situation, hotspots, and development trends in the field of rice and climate change topic research, a massive literature dataset were analyzed from the Web of Science database by bibliometric method. The research theme was chosen given the continuous increase of studies related to climatic changes and their consequences to rice. Based on the Web of Science core database, this study analyzed 4170 papers in the field of rice and climate change topic research from 1990 to July 2022, which include 86 highly cited papers and 3 hot papers. Papers were mainly written in English (4157, 99.688%), from 16,363 authors, 4017 organizations, and 129 countries/territories, published in 841 journals and seven book series. The top five Journals are Science of the Total Environment (136, 3.261%), Sustainability (89, 2.134%), Agronomy Basel (81, 1.942%), Agricultural and Forest Meteorology (77, 1.847%), and Climatic Change (74, 1.775%), each published more than 74 papers. Top five countries and regions of People's Republic of China, the USA, India, Australia, and Japan were the major article contributors, each published more than 360 papers. Top five organizations of Chinese Acad Sci, Nanjing Agr Univ, Univ Chinese Acad Sci, Chinese Acad Agr Sci, and Int Rice Res Inst (IRRI) were popular based on contribution of articles more than 133 papers each. Among the all authors, top five authors were Tao Fulu, Pan Genxing, Zhang Zhao, Hasegawa Toshihiro, and Iizumi Toshichika, each published more than thirty papers. All keywords were separated into eight clusters for different research topics. Visualizations offer exploratory information on the current state in a scientific field or discipline as well as indicate possible developments in the future. The results will help researchers clarify the current situation in rice and climate change adaptation science but also provide guidance for future research. Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) has been recognized as the fourth largest crop after maize, wheat and rice and is a crop of importance in developing countries for ensuring human nutrition and food security. Based on the Web of Science, this study analysed 3943 article- and review-type papers of potato research from agronomy category during 2000 to 2021 and included 6 highly cited papers. The papers mainly written in English (96.88%) were from 11,479 authors, 120 countries/territories and 2719 organizations and published in 97 journals and one book series. The top 5 core journals were American Journal of Potato Research (949, 24.07%), Potato Research (437, 11.08%), European Journal of Plant Pathology (172, 4.36%), Plant Pathology (171, 4.34%) and Theoretical and Applied Genetics (142, 3.60%). The top 5 countries and regions were the USA, Canada, China, the Netherlands and Brazil. The top five organizations were USDA ARS, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, University of Wisconsin, Wageningen University and Research Centre and University of Idaho, each with more than 157 papers. The top 6 authors were C. R. Brown, R. G. Novy, J. B. Bamberg, R. G. F. Visser, K. G. Haynes and P. C. Struik, each publishing more than 43 papers. BACKGROUND: The strawberry (Fragaria×annanasa Duch.) is a fresh fruit of its attractive colour, good flavor and enrichment of nutrients in the world. OBJECTIVE: This study analyzed the 3,885 strawberry research papers both article and review types from Food Science and Technology category. METHODS: The data were searched and extracted from Web of Science database, and were analyzed by bibliometric science and visualization tools. RESULTS: Papers mainly written in English (3,754, 96.628%), were from 12,695 authors, 94 countries/territories, 2,689 organizations and in 168 Journals and book series. The top five Journals were Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (432, 11.12%), Food Chemistry (338, 8.7%), Postharvest Biology and Technology (245, 6.306%), Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture (187, 4.813%) and Journal of Food Science (185, 4.762%), which each published more than 185 papers. The top five countries and regions were USA, Spain, Peoples R China, Italy and Brazil. The top five organizations were CSIC, ARS (USDA ARS), Univ Calif Davis, Univ Politecn Valencia and Zhejiang Univ. The top five authors were Battino Maurizio, Giampieri Francesca, Wang Shiow Y. (Wang, SY), Mezzetti Bruno and Carle Reinhold (Carle R), each published more than 23 papers. All keywords of the strawberry research from Food Science and Technology category were separated nine clusters for different research topics. BACKGROUND: The strawberry (Fragaria × annanasa Duch.) is one of the most significant cash horticultural crops in the world. Fresh strawberry fruits contain dietary fiber, vitamin C, 30-08-2021-carotene, folic acid and other nutrients required for human health and nutrition, and they have an appetizing aroma and flavour, as well as various phytonutrients that may be potentially beneficial to human health and could be used against chronic diseases including cancer and cardiovascular disorders. OBJECTIVE: The current study aimed to identify and analyze the 2,640 article and review type papers of strawberry research from horticulture category based on the Web of Science. METHODS: The Web of Science database was searched to extract data. Bibliometric data, including citation count, were analyzed together with the words by bibliometric science mapping and visualization tools. RESULTS: Papers mainly written in English (2,426, 91.894 %), were from 6,807 authors, 77 countries/territories, 1,504 organizations and published in 57 Journals and book series. Top 5 core journals ranked as Hortscience (360, 13.636 %), Scientia Horticulturae (322, 12.197 %), Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science (248, 9.394 %), Postharvest Biology and Technology (236, 8.939 %) and Journal of Horticultural Science Biotechnology (134, 5.076 %), that these journals each published more than 134 papers. Top 5 countries and regions were USA, Peoples R China, Japan, South Korea and Brazil. Top 5 organizations were Univ Florida, Univ Calif Davis, USDA ARS, ARS and Michigan State Univ. Abstract: Soil water plays an important role in muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) production, especially inside greenhouse. The object of this study was to determine the soil water content criteria at which growth and yield production of muskmelon would be optimal based on soil water measured by Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) inside a plastic greenhouse when using drip irrigation. Four soil water content lest thresholds (relative to the percentage of field water capacity) for starting the irrigation (45%-I45, 55%-I55, 65%-I65, 75%-I75) were compared inside plastic greenhouse experiment in 2009. Amount of applied irrigation water for four treatments varied from 120.1 to 178.6mm. The results showed that muskmelon plant development, fruit production and quality were significantly affected under different irrigation water amounts. Higher soil water content enhanced vegetative growth through increasing the plant height and stem diameter. Variation in soil water content not only had effects on fruit size, but also had effects on fruit yield. The highest fruit yield and irrigation water use efficiency (IWUE) were obtained from the treatment employing the greatest irrigation thresholds and quantity of irrigation (I75). When the thresholds of soil water content were below 65% field water capacity during the whole growth period, the mean fruit weight and yield decreased significantly. Irrigation water amount significantly affected the flesh thickness and fruit total soluble solids (TTS), soluble sugar (SS), vitamin C (Vc), soluble protein (SP) and free amino acid (FAA) content. In conclusion, treatment I75 was the optimum irrigation schedule for muskmelon grown inside plastic greenhouse. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of different amount of irrigation water on the growth and yield of cucumber under a rainshelter from May to October for two seasons in Yamaguchi University, Japan. For spring experiment, the amount of irrigation water applied was 0.50, 0.75, and 1.00 times of water surface evaporation (Ep) measured by a standard 0.2m diameter pan, regimes were denoted as Ep0.50, Ep0.75, and Ep1.00. Same method for autumn experiment, regimes were denoted as Ep0.75, Ep1.00, Ep1.25, Ep1.50, and Ep1.75. The results showed that amount of irrigation water significantly affected plant growth and fruit production. Plant height and biomass increased, but specific leaf weight (SLW, g/m2) decreased with increasing amount of irrigation water. The SLW and leaf blade water content were directly response to the applied irrigation water and soil water content, and the SLW of cucumber was decreased with the leaf blade water content increasing. The amount of irrigation water had significant effects on decreasing the leaf temperature, and the largest differences in leaf temperature with Ep1.75 regime were 2.1, 2.6, 4.7, and 5.8°C for Ep1.50, Ep1.25, Ep1.00, and Ep0.75 regimes at noon. Plant biomass (dried stem and leaves), the number of lateral branches and production were highest for spring regime Ep1.00 and autumn regime Ep1.75 that the plant received the most amount of irrigation water. During the cucumber growth period of 5 months from May to September for the plant and fruit growth, the crop coefficient K should be more than 1.00 that is a guideline and it is better between 1.00 and 1.50, and the average irrigated water of 4.0–5.5mm/day is necessary for plant and fruits growth. Therefore, applying water by drip irrigation in relation to the amount of water evaporated from a standard 0.2m diameter pan is a convenient, simple, easy, and low cost method under a rainshelter. Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is a relatively sensitive plant to water stress and is widely planted in Japan. Soil water is one of most important factors affecting the yield and quality of potatoes. Under a rain-shelter, an experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of different amounts of drip irrigation water on the potato growth, tuber yield, size and specific gravity. The amount of irrigation water applied was 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00 and 1.25 times of water surface evaporation (Ep) measured by a standard 0.2 m diameter pan (K=0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00 and 1.25). Plant height, biomass and shoot water content increased, but the specific leaf weight (SLW, g/m2) decreased with increasing amount of irrigation water. The amount of irrigation water had significant effects on decreasing the canopy temperature. Total fresh tuber yields and marketable tuber yields (>85 g) increased with increasing amount of irrigation water. The highest yield was obtained at the 1.25 times regime and the total tuber yield was close to the theoretical maximum. Irrigated water increased yields not only by increasing tuber number, but also by increasing the mean weight of the tubers. Irrigated water increased potato tuber quantity, but decreased potato tuber quality. The specific gravity of potato tubers tended to decrease as water applied increased, and the scarred and the hollow-heart potato tubers increased with increasing amount of irrigation water. So, under controlled environmental conditions, potatoes should be irrigated using pan evaporation factor more than 0.75 (K>0.75) that is a guideline. Abstract: This study was conducted to determine the optimum irrigation water amounts for muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) in plastic greenhouse. The irrigation water amounts were determined based on the percentage of field water capacity. On the same basis of irrigation start-point of 60% (the percent to comparing to the field water capacity), there were four different irrigation water levels 100% (T100), 90% (T90), 80% (T80) and 70% (T70) as the four different treatments. The results showed that plant growth, fruit production and quality were significantly affected under different irrigation water amounts. Plant height and stem diameter decreased as well as fruit yield from treatment T100 to T70. Fruit quality was the best in the T90 treatment. The irrigation water use efficiency (IWUE) values found in this experiment showed that the lower the amount of irrigation water applied, the higher the irrigation water use efficiency obtained. Hence, based on the quality and quantity of muskmelon yield, the regime for 90% of field water capacity is the suitable soil irrigation treatment (T90) which can save irrigation water and improve the quality of fruit. Combined the crop yield, quality and pan evaporation inside greenhouse, obtained Kcp=1.00 values can be recommended for the most appropriate irrigation scheduling, irrigation water amount is better between T100 and T90. Therefore, applying water by drip irrigation in relation to the amount of water evaporated from a standard 0.2m diameter pan is a convenient, simple, easy, and low cost method inside a plastic greenhouse. A field experiment comparing different irrigation frequencies and soil matric potential thresholds on potato evapotranspiration (ET), yield (Y) and water-use efficiency (WUE) was carried out in a loam soil. The experiment included five treatments for soil matric potential: F1 (-15 kPa), F2 (-25 kPa), F3 (-35 kPa), F4 (-45 kPa) and F5 (-55 kPa) and six treatments for irrigation frequency: N1 (once every day), N2 (once every 2 days), N3 (once every 3 days), N4 (once every 4 days), N6 (once every 6 days) and N8 (once every 8 days). Results indicate that both soil matric potential and drip irrigation frequency influenced potato ET,Yand WUE. Potato ET increased as irrigation frequency and soil matric potential increased. Comparing soil water potential, the highest ET was 63.4 mm (32.1%) more than the lowest value. Based on irrigation frequency treatments, the highest ET was 36.7 mm (19.2%) more than the lowest value. PotatoYand WUE were also found to increase as irrigation frequency increased. PotatoYincreased with an increase in soil water potential then started to decrease.
