Abstract

Derzsy’s disease and Muscovy duck parvovirus disease have become common diseases in waterfowl culture in the world and their potential to cause harm has risen. The causative agents are goose parvovirus (GPV) and Muscovy duck parvovirus (MDPV), which can provoke similar clinical symptoms and high mortality and morbidity rates. In recent years, duck short beak and dwarfism syndrome has been prevalent in the Cherry Valley duck population in eastern China. It is characterised by the physical signs for which it is named. Although the mortality rate is low, it causes stunting and weight loss, which have caused serious economic losses to the waterfowl industry. The virus that causes this disease was named novel goose parvovirus (NGPV). This article summarises the latest research on the genetic relationships of the three parvoviruses, and reviews the aetiology, epidemiology, and necropsy characteristics in infected ducks, in order to facilitate further study.

Abstract

A discarded motherboard based eco-friendly copper catalyst has been programmed to replace the industrially used tin based catalyst DBTDL. The catalyst has been characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR and TEM. Using the catalyst reaction conditions is optimized and under the optimized condition, both polyurethane and polyurethane foam are prepared, thus proving the generality of the catalyst to be used in industries. Abstract

By changing the occupancies of the metal ions and counterions, the tuning of the framework charge, band-edge position and bandgap of a novel Cd( ) porphyrinic MOF was achieved., Due to the designability of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), semiconductor MOFs have become the focus of research as photocatalysts of useful chemical processes utilizing clean solar energy. In this work, we developed a method of tuning the framework charge of MOF materials and determined how the framework charge can affect the band edge positions and bandgaps of the novel anionic Cd( ) porphyrinic metal–organic framework (PMOF) ([Cd (H TCPP) ][(CH ) NH ] ). It was constructed from H TCPP (H TCPP = (4-carboxyphenyl)-porphyrin) and Cd( ), forming a tube-like structure, and shown to have a negatively charged framework with a 60% occupancy of one type of Cd( ) ion. By increasing the reaction time and the amount of Cd( ) ions in the reactants, the nearly neutral counterpart of PMOF was also obtained. The [(CH ) NH ] counterions of PMOF were also exchanged with Li . Although the surface area of PMOF and its derived PMOFs were only 407–672 m g , the CO and CH uptakes reached, respectively, 44–65 ml g (8.7–12.7%) and 22–26 ml g (1.6–1.8%) each at 1.0 atom and 273 K; at 9.0 atm these values nearly tripled. Li -exchanged favoured N , CO and CH adsorption, especially at 9 atm and a relatively low temperature (273 K). PMOF subjected to a solvent exchange process showed an unstable structure in water, while PMOF not subjected to this process was found to be stable in water. Thus, a method for making water-stable divalent-metal carboxylate MOFs was proposed. The counter ion type showed little effect on the band-edge positions and bandgaps, but the framework charge did show effects. Under visible light and with tris(2,2′-bipyridine)dichlororuthenium( ) (Ru(bpy) Cl ) as the co-catalyst and triethylamine (TEA) as the sacrificial agent, the efficiency of CO production resulting from CO reduction using reached 56 μmol g h , about 5 times greater than that for the system without using Ru(bpy) Cl .

43. Selective Sensing of Fe3+Ions Using a Water-stable Magnesium Coordination Polymer

Abstract

A new water-stable magnesium (Mg) coordination polymer (Mg(HPCD)(H2O)) with a two-dimensional structure was synthesized and structurally characterized, and its luminescence properties were studied. The high blue emission intensity and the available coordinating nature of Mg-CPmake it useful as a luminescent sensor of Fe3+ions.A water-stable two-dimensional magnesium coordination polymer Mg-CPwas synthesized under solvothermal conditions. This compound shows highly blue luminescent character. The blue emission intensity and the available coordinating nature of the Mg-CPsupport it as a luminescent sensor for Fe3+ion.

Abstract

An efficient and green route for the synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones via microwave-assisted Biginelli reaction catalyzed by 3 mol% of heteropolyanion-based ionic liquids under solvent-free conditions has been reported. The practical reaction was found to be compatible with different structurally diverse substrates. Good to excellent yields, short reaction times, and operational simplicity are the main highlights of this protocol. Abstract

A recoverable photo-polymerization catalyst based on an imidazolium and a polyoxometalate, viz., (BMIm)2(DMIm)PW12O40 (where, BMIm = 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium, DMIm = 3,3′-dimethyl-1,1′-diimidazolium) is reported. It catalyzes photo-polymerization of several industrially important monomers like styrene, methyl methacrylate, butyl methacrylate and vinyl acetate. The catalyst is recoverable and hence can be reused. The molecular weight and polydispersity index can be controlled reasonably and a reaction pathway is proposed. The synthesis of this novel catalyst is reported and the catalyst has been characterized using standard techniques such as single crystal X-ray diffraction studies, cyclic voltammetry and various spectroscopic methods such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, 1H NMR spectroscopy, EPR spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. 47. Synthesis, Structure and High Thermal Stability of a Novel Three‐dimensional Zinc(II) Complex with an Unsymmetrical Rigid‐flexible Ligand

Abstract

A novel metal‐organic framework, [Zn(C10H8O5)]n(1) (C10H8O5= 2‐(4‐carboxylatophenoxy)propionate), was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, X‐ray crystallography and thermogravimetric analysis. The crystal structure study reveals that each zinc atom is coordinated by four oxygen atoms from four different ligands to obtain a distorted tetrahedron. The rigid carboxyl group bridges two adjacent zinc atoms to form a dimer of eight‐membered rings, whereas the flexible carboxyl group bridges two adjacent dimers to form 1D chains along the aaxis. Two adjacent 1D chains are interconnected by the ligands to produce 2D layers. These layers are further stabilized by intermolecular hydrogen bonds to construct a 3D framework showing high thermal stability (445 °C).
