Abstract miRNA has emerged as a crucial regulator in various of pathological and physiological processes, yet its precise mechanism of action the detailed mechanism of their action in Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains incompletely understood. This study sheds light on the role of mi-151-5p, revealing its significantly elevated expression in tumor cells, which notably enhances the invasion and migration of HNSCC cells. This effect is achieved through directly targeting LY6/PLAUR Domain Containing 3 (LYPD3) by miR-151-5p, involving complementary binding to the 3’-untranslated regions (3’-UTR) in the mRNA of LYPD3. Consequently, this interaction accelerates the metastasis of HNSCC. Notably, clinical observations indicate a correlation between high expression of miR-151-5p and low levels of LYPD3 in clinical settings are correlated with poor prognosis of HNSCC patients. Furthermore, our investigation demonstrates that glycosylation of LYPD3 modulates its subcellular localization and reinforces its role in suppressing HNSCC metastasis. Additionally, we uncover a potential regulatory mechanism involving the facilitation of miR-151-5p maturation and accumulation through N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification. This process is orchestrated by methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) and mediated by a newly identified reader, heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U (hnRNP U). These findings collectively underscore the significance of the METTL3/miR-151-5p/LYPD3 axis serves as a prominent driver in the malignant progression of HNSCC.

Malignant tumors and central nervous system (CNS) disorders are intricately linked to a process known as ''aberrant cell cycle re-entry,'' which plays a critical role in the progression of these diseases. Addressing the dysregulation in cell cycles offers a promising therapeutic approach for cancers and CNS disorders. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a crucial role as regulators of gene expression in cell cycle transitions, presenting a promising therapeutic avenue for treating these disorders and their comorbidities. This review consolidates the progress made in the last three years regarding miRNA-based treatments for diseases associated with aberrant cell cycle re-entry. It encompasses exploring fundamental mechanisms and signaling pathways influenced by miRNAs in cancers and CNS disorders, particularly focusing on the therapeutic effects of exosome-derived miRNAs. The review also identifies specific miRNAs implicated in comorbidity of cancers and CNS disorders, discusses the future potential of miRNA reagents in managing cell cycle-related diseases.

The rapid development of modern urban public transportation and people’s demand for efficient transportation have made intelligent management of urban public transportation networks a hot research field. In view of this, a composite complex traffic network node classification algorithm model is established based on the shell decomposition algorithm combined with a cascading failure model. The final research findings denote that the classification refinement level of the comprehensive shell decomposition value is about 50% higher than that of the WK-shell decomposition value. The comprehensive shell decomposition algorithm, which integrates global and local influence factors, can almost achieve one shell decomposition value per node in classification. The number of layers with nodes below 30 in the actual transportation network dataset test accounts for about 98% of the total number under the improved comprehensive shell decomposition algorithm, and roughly 50% under the composite shell decomposition algorithm, indicating that the accuracy of the former algorithm is higher. When the relationship ratio in robustness testing is 1:1:1, the average comprehensive shell decomposition value is at a higher position, which is about 3% higher than the WK-shell decomposition value and about 5% higher than the traditional shell decomposition value. In addition, when the proportions are 5:1:1, 1:5:1, and 1:1:5, the failure points tested under the comprehensive shell decomposition value are still the most, indicating that the comprehensive shell decomposition value considers more factors, is more cautious, and is closer to the actual situation. Through experimental data, the proposed composite complex traffic network node classification algorithm model, which integrates improved shell decomposition algorithm and cascading failure model, has certain practicality and feasibility.

Abstract During the life-cycle service of the constructed large span bridges, they face various threats every day due to the sophisticated operational environments. To ensure the structural safety, it is necessary to detect potential anomaly. Based on different inspection, monitoring and analysis technique, huge amounts of data that direct or indirect reflect structural characteristics can be obtained, and hence the anomaly detection methods developed. In order to provide a summary of relevant information needed by researchers to realize what is concerned about and how current practices deal with these issues, then further promote the application, this paper reviews understanding of anomaly detection in large span bridges. It starts with an analysis of concerned parameters, including dynamic and static structural parameters of a bridge. The various data sources are then commented. Next, existing anomaly detection methods are reviewed and classified. Finally, this paper concisely provides recent progress and discusses future research trends based on the identified knowledge gaps. We hope that this review will help development in this field.

Understanding the upper eyelid anatomy and procedures is essential to prevent eyelid damage. Abstract Ptosis is a prevalent condition in cosmetic surgery that occurs due to malfunction of the levator palpebrae superioris or insufficient Müller muscle action. It is characterized by the upper eyelid edge appearing lower than usual when seen at eye level. Ptosis may be categorized into congenital and acquired forms. The primary cause of congenital ptosis is attributed to abnormalities of the levator palpebrae superioris muscle or the motor nerve innervation that controls it. The condition arises from atypical development and malfunction of the oculomotor system. Acquired ptosis may be classified into many categories including traumatic, neurogenic, myogenic, senile, mechanical, and fake ptosis. Currently, there is little documentation of ptosis resulting from the degeneration of the aponeurosis of the muscle in the upper eyelid. We received a case of ptosis caused by fibrosis of the levator palpebrae superioris aponeurotic membrane. We used the technique of levator palpebrae superioris great advancement. The levator palpebrae superioris—Müller muscle was folded to create a stable composite construction via the levator palpebrae superioris high progress.

Unaffordable medical treatment and inflated drug prices have become a challenging issue for lawmakers worldwide. To reduce the financial burden and standardize the pharmaceutical market, the Chinese government has issued several detailed regulations, including the measures of drug recruitment and procurement in one and volume purchasing to not only ensure the high quality of approved drugs but also lower the cost of the production and sell procedure. In this work, to have a thorough overview of the enforcement of these regulations, we attempted to critically analyze the data of our hospital’s centralized procurement of drugs from 2019 to 2022. We identified some concerns, such as the difficulty in determining the “quantity” of drug procurement, out-of-stock of collectively procured drugs, difficulty in managing the preallocation of associated funds, incomplete centralized procurement systems, etc. Therefore, it is essential to promote a multidimensional strategy, including the combination of the medical insurance reform and drug centralized procurement policies, strict controlling of the forecast quantity of drugs to ensure stable drug supply, improvement of the relevant policies for retaining the surplus of centralized procurement drug medical insurance funds, secureness of the drug procurement system platform, and available reference and guidance for subsequent centralized quantity procurement of drugs.

ObjectivesTo research the connection between the indexes of the indexes of triglyceride-glucose (TyG) combined with obesity indices and the initial neurological severity and short-term outcome of new-onset acute ischemic stroke.MethodsData of patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted to the Stroke Ward of the Affiliated Hospital of Beihua University from November 2021 to October 2023, were collected. The two indexes were calculated by combining TyG and obesity indices: TyG-body mass index (TyG-BMI) and TyG-waist circumference (TyG-WC). The National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) was used to assess and group patients with neurological deficits within 24 hours of admission: mild stroke (NIHSS ≤5) and moderate-severe stroke (NIHSS >5). Short-term prognosis was evaluated using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) at discharge or 14 days after onset of the disease and grouped: good outcome (mRS ≤2) and poor outcome (mRS >2). According to the quartiles of TyG-BMI and TyG-WC, the patients were placed into four groups: Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4. Multi-factor logistic regression analysis was utilized to evaluate the correlation of TyG-BMI and TyG-WC with the severity and short-term outcome.ResultsThe study included 456 patients. After adjusting for multiple variables, the results showed that compared with the quartile 1, patients in quartile 4 of TyG-BMI had a reduced risk of moderate-severe stroke [Q4: OR: 0.407, 95%CI (0.185-0.894), P = 0.025]; Patients in quartiles 2, 3 and 4 of TyG-BMI had sequentially lower risk of short-term adverse outcomes [Q2: OR: 0.394, 95%CI (0.215-0.722), P = 0.003; Q3: OR: 0.324, 95%CI (0.163-0.642), P = 0.001; Q4: OR: 0.158, 95%CI (0.027-0.349), P

BackgroundThe microbiota-gut-lung axis has elucidated a potential association between gut microbiota and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). However, there is a paucity of population-level studies with providing robust evidence for establishing causality. This two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis aimed to investigate the causal relationship between the gut microbiota and IPF as well as lung function.Materials and methodsAdhering to Mendel’s principle of inheritance, this MR analysis utilized summary-level data from respective genome-wide association studies (GWAS) involving 211 gut microbial taxa, IPF, and lung function indicators such as FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC. A bidirectional two-sample MR design was employed, utilizing multiple MR analysis methods, including inverse variance-weighted (IVW), weighted median, MR-Egger, and weighted mode. Multivariable MR (MVMR) was used to uncover mediating factors connecting the exposure and outcome. Additionally, comprehensive sensitivity analyses were conducted to ensure the robustness of the results.ResultsThe MR results confirmed four taxa were found causally associated with the risk of IPF. Order Bifidobacteriales (OR=0.773, 95% CI: 0.610–0.979, p=0.033), Family Bifidobacteriaceae (OR=0.773, 95% CI: 0.610–0.979, p=0.033), and Genus RuminococcaceaeUCG009 (OR=0.793, 95% CI: 0.652–0.965, p=0.020) exerted protective effects on IPF, while Genus Coprococcus2 (OR=1.349, 95% CI: 1.021–1.783, p=0.035) promote the development of IPF. Several taxa were causally associated with lung function, with those in Class Deltaproteobacteria, Order Desulfovibrionales, Family Desulfovibrionaceae, Class Verrucomicrobiae, Order Verrucomicrobiales and Family Verrucomicrobiaceae being the most prominent beneficial microbiota, while those in Family Lachnospiraceae, Genus Oscillospira, and Genus Parasutterella were associated with impaired lung function. As for the reverse analysis, MR results confirmed the effects of FEV1 and FVC on the increased abundance of six taxa (Phylum Actinobacteria, Class Actinobacteria, Order Bifidobacteriales, Family Bifidobacteriaceae, Genus Bifidobacterium, and Genus Ruminiclostridium9) with a boosted level of evidence. MVMR suggested monounsaturated fatty acids, total fatty acids, saturated fatty acids, and ratio of omega-6 fatty acids to total fatty acids as potential mediating factors in the genetic association between gut microbiota and IPF.ConclusionThe current study suggested the casual effects of the specific gut microbes on the risk of IPF and lung function. In turn, lung function also exerted a positive role in some gut microbes. A reasonable dietary intake of lipid substances has a certain protective effect against the occurrence and progression of IPF. This study provides novel insights into the potential role of gut microbiota in IPF and indicates a possible gut microbiota-mediated mechanism for the prevention of IPF.

Abstract A mathematical morphological filter-based de-noising method is developed in this study for bridge cable force monitoring data. Structure elements, one of the most important parameters in the mathematical morphology, dominate de-noising effects. The de-noising effects subject to single structure element and multi-structure element filters are discussed based on the simulation signals. The results indicate that the de-noising effects by using the spherical structure element are better than using the straight line or rhombic structure element. Moreover, the multi-structure element filter outperforms the single one. Through simulation analysis, the de-noising performance of the low-pass filter, wavelet filter and morphological filter is compared. The results show that the performance of the wavelet and morphological filters is better than that of the low-pass filter. For low signal-to-noise signals, the performance of the wavelet filter is superior. With the increase of signal-to-noise ratio, the morphological filters show more advantages. Taking the cable force monitoring data of the 3rd Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge as an example, the de-noising performance of the wavelet and morphological filters is discussed. The results show that both the wavelet filters and morphological filters have satisfactory de-noising effects. The mathematical morphology method can provide an optional and effective de-nosing choice, which enriches the means of de-noising for bridge monitoring data.

Abstract Organic-inorganic molecular assembly has led to numerous nano/mesostructured materials with fantastic properties, but it is dependent on and limited to the direct interaction between host organic structure-directing molecules and guest inorganic species. Here, we report a “solvent-pair surfactants” enabled assembly (SPEA) method to achieve a general synthesis of mesostructured materials requiring no direct host-guest interaction. Taking the synthesis of mesoporous metal oxides as an example, the dimethylformamide/water solvent pairs behave as surfactants and induce the formation of mesostructured polyoxometalates/copolymers nanocomposites, which can be converted into metal oxides. This SPEA method enables the synthesis of functional ordered mesoporous metal oxides with different pore sizes, structures, compositions and tailored pore-wall microenvironments that are difficult to access via conventional direct organic-inorganic assembly. Typically, nitrogen-doped mesoporous ε-WO3 with high specific surface area, uniform mesopores and stable framework is obtained and exhibits great application potentials such as gas sensing.

Abstract In the civil structural health monitoring fields, monitored data suffer from noise and sensor faults. In practice, redundant sensors are usually deployed to monitor structural condition to obtain more accurate and robust information. This paper proposes a beamforming-based spatial filtering method to improve the data quality by using the information redundancy within sensor networks. Data pre-processing is first implemented, including missing data imputation and thermal response separation. Subsequently, short-term Fourier transform is used to transform the measured time sequences into time–frequency domain to obtain more useful features. Finally, signals in the time and frequency domain are processed using the beamforming algorithm. In the beamformers, a linear filter is applied to suppress noise signals, which is formulated as a constrained optimization problem. Herein, interior point algorithm is used to optimize the allocation of the linear filter, wherein the objective function is to minimize the power of the noise component at the beamformer output. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by using signals from strain gauges installed on steel deck plates of the 3rd Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Results through the case study show that signals after spatial filtering have a satisfactory de-noising, which indicates the effectiveness of the proposed beamforming algorithm. We believe that the proposed beamforming algorithm has substantial potential applications, such as providing high quality data source for further investigations.

Abstract Background Tumor cells can resist chemotherapy-induced pyroptosis through glycolytic reprogramming. Estrogen-related receptor alpha (ERRα) is a central regulator of cellular energy metabolism associated with poor cancer prognosis. Herein, we refine the oncogenic role of ERRα in the pyroptosis pathway and glycolytic metabolism. Methods The interaction between ERRα and HIF-1α was verified using co-immunoprecipitation. The transcriptional binding sites of ERRα and NLRP3 were confirmed using dual-luciferase reporter assay and cleavage under targets and tagmentation (CUT&Tag). Flow cytometry, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, cell mito stress test, and extracellular acidification rate analysis were performed to investigate the effects of ERRα on the pyroptosis pathway and glycolytic metabolism. The results of these experiments were further confirmed in endometrial cancer (EC)-derived organoids and nude mice. In addition, the expression of ERRα-related pyroptosis genes was analyzed using The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus database. Results Triggered by a hypoxic microenvironment, highly expressed ERRα could bind to the promoter of NLRP3 and inhibit caspase-1/GSDMD signaling, which reduced inflammasome activation and increased pyroptosis resistance, thereby resulting in the resistance of cancer cells to cisplatin. Moreover, ERRα activated glycolytic rate-limiting enzyme to bridge glycolytic metabolism and pyroptosis in EC. This phenomenon was further confirmed in EC-derived organoids and nude mice. CUT & Tag sequencing and The Cancer Genome Atlas database analysis showed that ERRα participated in glycolysis and programmed cell death, which resulted in EC progression. Conclusions ERRα inhibits pyroptosis in an NLRP3-dependent manner and induces glycolytic metabolism, resulting in cisplatin resistance in EC cells.

Urbanization and industrialization have escalated air pollution into a critical global issue, particularly in urban areas. Urban green infrastructures (GIs), such as parks and street trees, play a vital role in mitigating air pollution through dry deposition, the process by which air pollutants are removed by deposition onto plant surfaces or through plant uptake. However, existing studies on the dry-deposition capacity of urban green spaces are limited in their ability to reflect variations at the tree-species level, hindering comprehensive evaluations and effective management strategies. This study aims to quantitatively assess the dry-deposition capacity of the urban green spaces of Beijing and Shanghai for six major air pollutants in using an improved dry-deposition model and tree-species-specific data. Results showed that Shanghai’s urban green spaces had a monthly average dry-deposition rate of 5.5 × 10−6 s m−1, slightly higher than Beijing’s rate of 5.3 × 10−6 s m−1. Significant seasonal variations were observed, with summer showing the highest deposition rates due to favorable meteorological conditions. Broad-leaved species such as Zelkova serrata in Beijing and Photinia serratifolia in Shanghai exhibited superior dry-deposition capacities compared to coniferous species. Temperature significantly influenced dry-deposition rates for gaseous pollutants, while particulate-matter deposition was primarily affected by pollutant concentrations. This study provides critical insights into the air = purification functions of urban green spaces and underscores the importance of species selection and strategic green-space planning in urban air-quality management, informing the development of optimized urban-greening strategies for improved air quality and public health.

The agile remote sensing satellite scheduling problem (ARSSSP) for large-scale tasks needs to simultaneously address the difficulties of complex constraints and a huge solution space. Taking inspiration from the quantum genetic algorithm (QGA), a multi-adaptive strategies-based higher-order quantum genetic algorithm (MAS-HOQGA) is proposed for solving the agile remote sensing satellites scheduling problem in this paper. In order to adapt to the requirements of engineering applications, this study combines the total task number and the total task priority as the optimization goal of the scheduling scheme. Firstly, we comprehensively considered the time-dependent characteristics of agile remote sensing satellites, attitude maneuverability, energy balance, and data storage constraints and established a satellite scheduling model that integrates multiple constraints. Then, quantum register operators, adaptive evolution operations, and adaptive mutation transfer operations were introduced to ensure global optimization while reducing time consumption. Finally, this paper demonstrated, through computational experiments, that the MAS-HOQGA exhibits high computational efficiency and excellent global optimization ability in the scheduling process of agile remote sensing satellites for large-scale tasks, while effectively avoiding the problem that the traditional QGA has, namely low solution efficiency and the tendency to easily fall into local optima. This method can be considered for application to the engineering practice of agile remote sensing satellite scheduling for large-scale tasks.

Sleep plays an important role in the learning process and memory consolidation, and sleep deprivation (SD) leads to inadequate memory consolidation and plays an important role in brain development and plasticity. SD increases β-amyloid levels while impairing cognitive function. We explored the effect of enriched environment (EE) on β-amyloid and transporter protein LRP1 and receptor for advanced glycosylation end-products (RAGE) expression in chronic sleep deprived mice. We randomly divided mice into four groups (n = 10), the standard environment group (Ctrl group), the sleep deprivation group (SD group), the enriched environment intervention group (EE group), and the sleep deprivation plus environmental enrichment intervention group (SD + EE group). A modified multi-platform SD model was used to sleep deprive the mice for 19 h per day. Five hours of EE intervention was performed daily in the EE group and the SD + EE group, respectively. The behavioral measurements of mice were performed by Y-maze method and new object recognition; the expression levels of Aβ1-42, LRP1, and RAGE in prefrontal cortex and hippocampus of mice were measured by immunofluorescence; the expression levels of LRP1 and RAGE in prefrontal cortex and hippocampus were detected by Western blot. The results showed that EE could effectively ameliorate the effects of SD on cognitive impairment, reduce SD induced Aβ deposition, and decrease the expression of RAGE, while increase the expression of LRP1.

Abstract Breast cancer can metastasize to various organs, including the lungs. The immune microenvironment of the organs to be metastasized plays a crucial role in the metastasis of breast cancer. Infection with pathogens such as viruses and bacteria can alter the immune status of the lung. However, the effect of chronic inflammation caused by bacteria on the formation of a premetastatic niche within the lung is unclear, and the contribution of specific immune mediators to tumor metastasis also remains largely undetermined. Here, we used a mouse model revealing that chronic pulmonary bacterial infection augmented breast cancer lung metastasis by recruiting a distinct subtype of tumor-infiltrating MHCIIhi neutrophils into the lung, which exhibit cancer-promoting properties. Functionally, MHCIIhi neutrophils enhanced the lung metastasis of breast cancer in a cell-intrinsic manner. Furthermore, we identified CCL2 from lung tissues as an important environmental signal to recruit and maintain MHCIIhi neutrophils. Our findings clearly link bacterial-immune crosstalk to breast cancer lung metastasis and define MHCIIhi neutrophils as the principal mediator between chronic infection and tumor metastasis.

Green spaces have a positive impact on the mood of urban residents. However, previous studies have focused primarily on parks or residential areas, neglecting the influence of green spaces in different socioeconomic locations on public sentiment. This oversight fails to acknowledge that most young individuals are exposed to places beyond their homes and parks throughout the day. Using web crawlers, we collected 105,214 Sina Weibo posts from 14,651 geographical check-in points in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. We developed a mixed ordered logistic regression model to quantify the relationship between public sentiment (negative/neutral/positive) and the surrounding green space. The findings are as follows: (1) the correlation between GVI and public sentiment is stronger than that between public sentiment and NDVI; (2) among different socioeconomic regions, residential areas are associated with lower levels of public sentiment, while parks are associated with higher levels; and (3) at a scale of 1000 m, an increase of 1% in GVI significantly improves public sentiment regarding transportation hubs, with a regression coefficient of 0.0333. The relationship between green space and public sentiment is intricate and nuanced, and it is influenced by both public activities and spatiotemporal contexts. Urban green space planners should consider additional factors to enhance the effectiveness of green space in improving public sentiment.

Abstract The influences of slot/pole number combinations on electromagnetic performances, including flux linkage, inductance, and torque ripple harmonic components etc., resulting from unbalanced characteristics between north and south poles in concentrated winding permanent magnet (PM) machines with symmetrical and asymmetric rotor pole shaping methods are theoretically analysed and experimentally validated in this paper. It shows that for the PM machines with odd number of coils per phase per submachine, including consequent pole (CP) and surface‐mounted PM (SPM) machines, the influences of unbalanced pole characteristics can lead to additional torque ripple harmonics due to additive effects in windings, but can be cancelled in other machines. Compared with symmetrical pole shaping method, asymmetric pole shaping method can result in lower torque ripple for CPPM machines with odd number of coils per phase per submachine, while symmetrical and asymmetric pole shapes have similar effects on torque ripple reduction for other CPPM machines and all the SPM machines. The findings have been validated by finite element analyses on 12‐slot/8‐pole, 12‐slot/10‐pole, 9‐slot/6‐pole, and 12‐slot/14‐pole machines, and by experiments with 12‐slot/8‐pole and 12‐slot/10‐pole CPPM prototypes.

The polian vesicle and coelom of sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus were full of coelomic fluid in which many types of coelomocytes with different functions were suspended. Our previous work has indicated the differences of coelomocytes between two sites mainly in subtype proportion, non-specific immune enzymes activities and several immune-related genes expression levels in healthy A. japonicus. However, the functional similarities and differences of coelomic fluid in two sites including the coelom and polian vesicle after pathogenic infection still remain unclear. Here, we investigated the changes of the total coelomocyte density (TCD) and differential coelomocyte density (DCD) after pathogen infection by Vibrio splendidus in coelom and polian vesicle. After infected by V. splendidus, the TCD in the coelom and polian vesicle rapidly declined at 12 h, and then the TCD in the coelom showed a stably ascending trend, while the TCD in the polian vesicle reached a peak at 24 h post infection (hpi), and then showed a continuously decline trend from 24 hpi to 72 hpi followed by a slow elevation until recovering the normal level from 72 hpi to 96 hpi. Then the activities of acidic phosphatase (ACP), alkaline phosphatase (AKP), catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were determined to evaluate the response of cell-free coelomic fluid to V. splendidus infection. The activities of ACP, AKP and CAT showed similar trends in the coelom and polian vesicle. The SOD activity significantly increased in the polian vesicle, whereas it exhibited a decreasing trend in the coelom. Finally, the expression profiles of nine immune-related genes including Aj-MyD88, Aj-IRAK4, Aj-i-Lys, Aj-Rel, Aj-p50, Aj-DMBT1, Aj-CDC, Aj-Rrp15 and Aj-Fibrinogen C were detected after V. splendidus challenge. The results suggested all the detected genes were significantly up-regulated both in the coelom and polian vesicle, and the expression levels of these genes in two sites shared similar trends except Aj-MyD88 and Aj-DMBT1. This research provides a new insight into the differentially immune roles of coelomic fluid and coelomocytes in polian vesicle and coelom response to bacterial infections and supplements comprehensive resources for better understanding the innate immune response of A. japonicus.

Immobilized microbial technology is a sustainable solution to reduce water pollution. Understanding the microorganisms in immobilized biochar is critical for the removal of contaminants in water. Biochar as a carrier of microorganisms, there are some problems need to be focused on, microporous structure blockage limiting the contact between microorganisms and pollutants for further degradation, unstable microbial loading, and low cycle times. To solve these problems, Alcaligenes faecalis was immobilized with rice hull biochar to study its adsorption and degradation characteristics of phenol. It was found that A. faecalis JH1 could effectively remove 300 mg/L of phenol within 24 h. The adsorption capacity of rice husk biochar for phenol increased with the increasing pyrolysis temperature (700 > 500>300°C). The immobilized biomass of JH1 from 700°C rice husk biochar reached 249.45 nmol P/g at 24 h of fixation reaction. It was found that the phenol removal rate of JH1 immobilized at all temperature biochar reached 300 mg/L within 12 h after the sixth cycle. As the number of cycles increased, bacteria grew and adhered to the biochar, forming a thick viscous biofilm and accelerating the removal of phenol. The results showed that A. faecalis could firmly adhere to rice hull biochar and degrade phenol effectively, with good durability and cyclicity.

Formic acid (FA, HCOOH), as a liquid chemical hydrogen storage carrier with low cost, high hydrogen content, and convenient storage and transportation, has attracted extensive attention. Pd-based catalysts for hydrogen production from FA are easy to aggregate and deactivate in the reaction process, which hinders the further development of FA as a hydrogen storage carrier. Therefore, the exploitation of carriers with simple preparation methods and excellent performance can effectively improve the catalytic activity of Pd-based catalysts. Porous carbon and SiO2 have been widely used for their unique structural properties, and the preparation of composite carriers by combining the advantages of both is a current research hotspot. Herein, this work synthesized C–SiO2 for the deposition of Pd nanoparticles by a one-step method, and the obtained Pd/C–SiO2 exhibits a superior FA dehydrogenation activity with a turnover frequency value of 1278 h−1 and a favorable stability with only a slight decrease in activity after five cycles.

The growing awareness of the health advantages offered by forests has underscored the significance of forest exposure as an upstream preventive measure against disease. While numerous studies have confirmed the physical and mental health benefits associated with forests, there is still a lack of quantitative understanding regarding the relationship between forest exposure and physiological health benefits (PHB). Particularly, there is insufficient knowledge about the threshold effects derived from short-term forest exposure. In this study, we propose a PHB threshold model for assessing forest exposure that introduces the concepts of efficiency threshold and benefits threshold. A pilot study was conducted in three typical natural forest sites to validate the proposed model. Electroencephalogram (EEG) was continuously measured as the physiological indicator, while meteorological, environmental, and demographic factors were simultaneously collected. The results show that: (1) the proposed PHB threshold model is applicable in a natural forest environment; (2) despite the longer time required to reach the PHB thresholds, forest exposure yielded more significant and prolonged health benefits compared to urban green spaces; (3) meteorological factors, such as temperature and relative humidity, play a crucial role in impacting the PHB threshold model; and (4) exposure to forests is better for deep thinking and relaxation than urban green spaces. These findings emphasize the potential of forests to offer a respite from the stresses of modern life and promote holistic well-being.

We investigated biostimulation as an effective strategy for enhancing the degradation efficiency of recalcitrant organic compounds, with MSC14 (a novel polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon degrading bacterium Pantoea dispersa MSC14) as the study material. Here, we investigated the impact of sodium gluconate on MSC14-mediated degradation of B[a]p. This study focused on the application of sodium gluconate, a biostimulant, on MSC14, targeting Benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]p) as the model pollutant. In this study, the novel PAHs-degrading bacterium P. dispersa MSC14 demonstrated the capability to degrade 24.41% of B[a]p after 4 days. The addition of the selected sodium gluconate stimulant at a concentration of 4 g/L stimulated MSC14 to degrade 54.85% of B[a]p after 16 h. Intermediate metabolites were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to infer the degradation pathway. The findings indicated that sodium gluconate promoted the intracellular transport of B[a]p by MSC14, along with the secretion of biosurfactants, enhancing emulsification and solubilization capabilities for improved B[a]p dissolution and degradation. Further analysis through transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed the formation of a biofilm by MSC14 and an increase in flagella as a response to B[a]p stress. Transcriptome profiling elucidated the interplay of quorum sensing systems, chemotaxis systems, and flagellar systems in the degradation mechanism. Additionally, the study uncovered the molecular basis of B[a]p transport, degradation pathways, metabolic changes, and genetic regulation. In summary, the addition of sodium gluconate promotes the degradation of B[a]p by P. dispersa MSC14, offering the advantages of being rapid, efficient, and cost-effective. This research provides an economically viable approach for the remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon pollution, with broad potential applications.

To achieve high-precision deflection control of a Magnetically Suspended Control and Sensitive Gyroscope rotor under high dynamic conditions, a deflection decoupling method using Quantum Radial Basis Function Neural Network and fractional-order terminal sliding mode control is proposed. The convergence speed and time complexity of the neural network controller limit the control accuracy and stability of rotor deflection under high-bandwidth conditions. To solve the problem, a quantum-computing-based structure optimization method for the Radial Basis Function Neural Network is proposed for the first time, where the input and the center of hidden layer basis function of the neural network are quantum-coded, and quantum rotation gates are designed to replace the Gaussian function. The parallel characteristic of quantum computing is utilized to reduce the time complexity and improve the convergence speed of the neural network. On top of that, in order to further address the issue of input jitter, a fractional-order terminal sliding mode controller based on the Quantum Radial Basis Function Neural Network is designed, the fractional-order differential sliding mode surface and the fractional-order convergence law are proposed to reduce the input jitter and achieve finite-time convergence of the controller, and the Quantum Radial Basis Function Neural Network is used to approximate the residual coupling and external disturbances of the system, resulting in improving the rotor deflection control accuracy. The semi-physical simulation experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

The exciton-polariton, a quasi-particle formed by the coupling of excitons and photons, exhibits a semi-light-semi-matter nature, inheriting the advantages of both constituents and capable of achieving Bose-Einstein condensation at room temperature. This paper investigates the evolution of superposition states of semiconductor microcavity exciton-polariton Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) within a ring-shaped structure. By employing theoretical modeling, the time-dependent dynamics of the superposition states of exciton-polaritons bound within a unique asymmetric ring-step potential well structure are analyzed, focusing on halide perovskite semiconductor materials. The study reveals correlations between the potential well structure of this step-like configuration and the transition of exciton-polariton BEC superposition states, shedding light on the evolution paths of BEC systems under specific structural influences and the fluctuation patterns of excitonic fields. These findings hold relevance for experimental manipulations of exciton-polariton superposition states within microcavities. This research demonstrates that ring-step potential well structures influence the excitation and evolution of exciton-polariton BEC superposition states, leading to transitions towards higher or lower order states. This transition is reflected macroscopically in alterations in the number and spatial distribution of interference petals in the superposition states. We consider initial states with orbital angular momentum quantum number l = 2, 3, 4, respectively. By exploiting the different structural relationships of ring-step potential wells, we achieve controlled evolutions of macroscopic occupation states, with interference petal numbers ranging from 4 to 6, 4–8, 6–8, 6–10, 8–10, 8–12, and 6–4.

In order to improve the accuracy and convergence speed of the steering law under the conditions of high dynamics, high bandwidth, and a small deflection angle, and in an effort to improve attitude measurement and control accuracy of the spacecraft, a spacecraft attitude measurement and control method based on variable speed magnetically suspended control sensitive gyroscopes (VSMSCSGs) and the fractional-order zeroing neural network (FO-ZNN) steering law is proposed. First, a VSMSCSG configuration is designed to realize attitude measurement and control integration in which the VSMSCSGs are employed as both actuators and attitude-rate sensors. Second, a novel adaptive steering law using FO-ZNN is designed. The matrix pseudoinverses are replaced by FO-ZNN outputs, which solves the problem of accuracy degradation in the traditional pseudoinverse steering laws due to the complexity of matrix pseudoinverse operations under high dynamics conditions. In addition, the convergence and robustness of the FO-ZNN are proven. The results show that the proposed FO-ZNN converges faster than the traditional zeroing neural network under external disturbances. Finally, a new weighting function containing rotor deflection angles is added to the steering law to ensure that the saturation of the rotor deflection angles can be avoided. Semi-physical simulation results demonstrate the correctness and superiority of the proposed method.

Abstract The study aimed to explore predictors of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) in adults and develop a nomogram predictive model in order to identify high-risk patients early. We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of a total of 337 adult patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and divided them into MPP and non-MPP groups according to whether they were infected with MP. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to screen independent predictors of MPP in adults and to developed a nomogram model. Abstract Background Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic idiopathic disease characterized by inflammation-related epithelial barrier damage in the intestinal tract. Helminth infection reduces autoimmune disease symptoms through regulation of inflammatory responses based on hygiene theory. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Methods BALB/c mice were infected with microcysts of E. granulosus sensu stricto and drank water containing 3.5% dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) at the 100th day post-infection. After 7 days of drinking DSS, the mouse body weight change and disease activity index (DAI) were recorded every day, and colon length and histological score were evaluated after sacrifice. After injection with antigen B (AgB), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and Fizz1 expression and F4/80+CD11c+ M1 and F4/80+CD206+ M2 in the peritoneal cells and colon tissues were analysed by qPCR and flow cytometry, respectively. Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a significant zoonotic pathogen that is capable of causing infections in marine animals and contaminating seafood. In this study, we characterized a bacteriophage, vibrio phage R01, which exhibited lytic activity against V. parahaemolyticus VP-ABTNL, a strain known to cause skin ulceration in the juvenile sea cucumber. Morphological analysis revealed that vibrio phage R01 belongs to the Siphoviridae family of the Caudovirales order. A one-step growth curve analysis showed that the latent period and burst period of R01 were approximately 20 min, with a burst size of 316 PFU (plaque-forming unit) per infected cell. The stability determination assay showed that the lytic activity of phage R01 was optimal at 4–28 °C and a pH of 7.0, while it ceased at temperatures higher than 60 °C. The inhibition ability of the vibrio phage R01 against the VP-ABTNL was tested in vitro using the phage with three MOI (multiplicity of infection) values of 1, 10 and 100. All treated cultures exhibited a significant (P 0.05). Subsequently, the whole genome of the vibrio phage R01 was sequenced and analyzed. The genome of phage R01 consists of 75,514 bp with a G+C content of 49.42%. Twenty-four of the 75 putative proteins encoded by this phage have known functions, and no rRNA and tRNA genes were identified. Phylogenetic analysis based on DNA polymerase and terminase large subunit revealed that phage R01 is a new species within the genus of Mardecavirus. These findings indicate that the vibrio phage R01 may serve as a viable alternative agent for preventing V. parahaemolyticus infections.

The shuttling of polyselenide (Li2Se2Sx) was prevented effectively by building a separator in Li-SexSy batteries. Nitrogen atoms are used to coordinate transition metal (TM=Ti, Zr, V) co-doped graphene to restrict the free shuttling of polylithium selenide (Li2Se2Sx, x = 1–6) through physical confinement and chemical adsorption. The nitrogen (N) atom assisted transition metal co-doped graphene surface to build a model of strong adsorption of cations and anions on lithium-sulfur-selenium compounds to inhibit the shuttle phenomenon. Nitrogen atoms are not only coordinately doped with transition metals, but also lithium atoms can easily form bonds to improve the adsorption strength of Li2Se2Sx on the graphene surface. The evolution of the N-type to P-type adsorption model of Li2Se2Sx on the graphene co-doped Ti-N-G surface to the Zr-N-G surface was constructed based on the phenomenon of Fermi level changes strong adsorption capacity and immobilization. The Fermi energy level of the V-N-G weak adsorption catalytic model was located between the valence and conduction bands. The doping of N and TM improves the ionic conductivity of graphene, which adsorbs Li2Se2Sx and causes a high Li diffusion barrier. A coupled physical model of ion transport and polyselenide conversion was built by adjusting the Fermi level of separator.

ABSTRACT Human gut dysbiosis is associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM); however, the gut microbiome in pregnant women with pregestational type 2 diabetes mellitus (PGDM) remains unexplored. We investigated the alterations in the gut microbiota composition in pregnant women with or without PGDM. The gut microbiota was examined using 16S rRNA sequencing data of 234 maternal fecal samples that were collected during the first (T1), second (T2), and third (T3) trimesters. The PGDM group presented a reduction in the number of gut bacteria taxonomies as the pregnancies progressed. Linear discriminant analyses revealed that Megamonas, Bacteroides, and Roseburia intestinalis were enriched in the PGDM group, whereas Bacteroides vulgatus, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Eubacterium rectale, Bacteroides uniformis, Eubacterium eligens, Subdoligranulum, Bacteroides fragilis, Dialister, Lachnospiraceae, Christensenellaceae R-7, Roseburia inulinivorans, Streptococcus oralis, Prevotella melaninogenica, Neisseria perflava, Bacteroides ovatus, Bacteroides caccae, Veillonella dispar, and Haemophilus parainfluenzae were overrepresented in the control group. Correlation analyses showed that the PGDM-enriched taxa were correlated with higher blood glucose levels during pregnancy, whereas the taxonomic biomarkers of normoglycemic pregnancies exhibited negative correlations with glycemic traits. The microbial networks in the PGDM group comprised weaker microbial interactions than those in the control group. Our study reveals the distinct characteristics of the gut microbiota composition based on gestational ages between normoglycemic and PGDM pregnancies. Further longitudinal research involving women with T2DM at preconception stages and investigations using shotgun metagenomic sequencing should be performed to elucidate the relationships between specific bacterial functions and PGDM metabolic statuses during pregnancy and to identify potential therapeutic targets. IMPORTANCE The incidence of pregestational type 2 diabetes mellitus (PGDM) is increasing, with high rates of serious adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes that are strongly correlated with hyperglycemia. Recent studies have shown that type 2 diabetes mellitus is associated with gut microbial dysbiosis; however, the gut microbiome composition and its associations with the metabolic features of patients with PGDM remain largely unknown. In this study, we investigated the changes in the gut microbiota composition in pregnant women with and without PGDM. We identified differential taxa that may be correlated with maternal metabolic statuses during pregnancy. Additionally, we observed that the number of taxonomic and microbial networks of gut bacteria were distinctly reduced in women with hyperglycemia as their pregnancies progressed. These results extend our understanding of the associations between the gut microbial composition, PGDM-related metabolic changes, and pregnancy outcomes.

As the scale of a ground-coupled heat pump system increases, the proportion of energy consumed by the conveying system increases. It is crucial to obtain an accurate specific frictional resistance in the ground heat exchanger (GHE) to facilitate a more accurate design; this has the potential to reduce the energy consumption on the source side and improve the efficiency of the ground-coupled heat pump system. This study investigates the relationship between velocity, temperature, and pressure drop in a double U-shaped GHE with water as the heat-transfer fluid to obtain the corrected specific frictional resistance (CSFR). The test results showed that the ratio of standard specific frictional resistance (SSFR) to measured specific frictional resistance (MSFR) was greater than 1.2. The MSFR was used to fit and validate the CSFR formula, so as to determine the relationship between the CSFR and the four variables, which were density, dynamic viscosity, velocity, and inner diameter. The design based on the CSFR improved the system coefficient of performance by 7.61% compared to the SSFR design option. Therefore, use of the CSFR formula to calculate the pressure drop in the GHE groups facilitates more accurate and refined design of ground-coupled heat pump systems.

Background: Neurodegenerative diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), may be linked to mitochondrial dysfunction and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. We examined whether Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) could prevent changes in the structure and function of these organelles by accelerating by rotenone (ROT), a mitochondrial inhibitor, in human retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells of chronological age. Methods: RPE cells from 9–20, 50–55, 60–70, and >70-year-old donors were isolated, grown as primary cultures, harvested, and treated with ROT and PEDF for electron microscope (EM), western blot analysis, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cytoplasmic calcium [Ca2+]c and mitochondrial calcium [Ca2+]m levels were measured by flow cytometry using 2′,7′-dichlorodihydrofluorescin diacetate (H2-DCF-DA), fluo-3/AM, and Rhod-2/AM, and ATP levels were measured using a luciferin/luciferase-based assay. Mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) was detected using 5,5′,6,6′-tetrachloro1,1′,3,3′-tetraethylbenzimid azolocarbocyanine iodide (JC-1), and susceptibility of the cells to ROT toxicity and PEDF-protective effect was determined by propidium iodide (PI) staining and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) assay. The expression of ER stress-related genes was detected using real-time (RT)-PCR. Results: We observed decay in the mitochondria of aged RPE cells, including matrix abnormalities, elongation, loss of cristae, and disruption of membrane integrity after ROT treatment. We also observed lower [Ca2+]c, higher ROS and [Ca2+]m levels, decreased ΔΨm after ROT treatment, and greater susceptibility to ROT toxicity in aged RPE cells. PEDF can protect the cristae and integrity of the mitochondrial membrane, increase ATP levels and ΔΨm, and lower ROS, [Ca2+]c, and [Ca2+]m in aged RPE cells induced by ROT. In addition, there was an increase in RDH expression in RPE cells with increasing age after PEDF treatment. Similarly, PEDF decreased the expression of ROT-induced ER stress-related genes. Conclusions: Our study provides evidence that PEDF can reduce bioenergetic deficiencies, mitochondrial decay, and ER stress in aging RPE, a condition that may trigger the onset of retinal diseases such as AMD.

Non-cooperative space object pose estimation is a key technique for spatial on-orbit servicing, where pose estimation algorithms based on low-quality, low-power monocular sensors provide a practical solution for spaceborne applications. The current pose estimation methods for non-cooperative space objects using monocular vision generally consist of three stages: object detection, landmark regression, and perspective-n-point (PnP) solver. However, there are drawbacks, such as low detection efficiency and the need for prior knowledge. To solve the above problems, an end-to-end non-cooperative space object pose estimation learning algorithm based on dual-channel transformer is proposed, a feature extraction backbone network based on EfficientNet is established, and two pose estimation subnetworks based on transformer are also established. A quaternion SoftMax-like activation function is designed to improve the precision of orientation error estimating. The method only uses RGB images, eliminating the need for a CAD model of the satellite, and simplifying the detection process by using an end-to-end network to directly detect satellite pose information. Experiments are carried out on the SPEED dataset provided by the European Space Agency (ESA). The results show that the proposed algorithm can successfully predict the satellite pose information and effectively decouple the spatial translation information and orientation information, which significantly improves the recognition efficiency compared with other methods.

Satellite pose estimation plays a crucial role within the aerospace field, impacting satellite positioning, navigation, control, orbit design, on-orbit maintenance (OOM), and collision avoidance. However, the accuracy of vision-based pose estimation is severely constrained by the complex spatial environment, including variable solar illumination and the diffuse reflection of the Earth’s background. To overcome these problems, we introduce a novel satellite pose estimation network, FilterformerPose, which uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) backbone for feature learning and extracts feature maps at various CNN layers. Subsequently, these maps are fed into distinct translation and orientation regression networks, effectively decoupling object translation and orientation information. Within the pose regression network, we have devised a filter-based transformer encoder model, named filterformer, and constructed a hypernetwork-like design based on the filter self-attention mechanism to effectively remove noise and generate adaptive weight information. The related experiments were conducted using the Unreal Rendered Spacecraft On-Orbit (URSO) dataset, yielding superior results compared to alternative methods. We also achieved better results in the camera pose localization task, indicating that FilterformerPose can be adapted to other computer vision downstream tasks.

Abstract Age-related hearing loss (ARHL) represents the frequently occurring disability that affects the elderly worldwide. The recent evidence has calculated ARHL to be most potential risk factor to predict dementia. β-amyloid plaques and tau accumulation in brain are hallmarks pathologic feature of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), which is a leading cause resulting in dementia. However, the potential mechanistic associations between ARHL and dementia remains unknown. We performed the present cross-sectional cohort study by enrolling 72 patients from research on hearing as well as the pathologic hallmarks of AD in brain. The exposure of hearing was measured by either word recognition score or mean pure-tone of the superior ear. The brain β-amyloid and tau standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) were measured by positron emission tomography (PET). The covariates included gender, age, cardiovascular disease, education and hearing aid use. To analyze the association between hearing and β-amyloid/tau, linear regression was used and adjusted for potentially confounding covariates. Our data showed that the mean age was 67.1 ± 2.9 years. After adjusted for all the covariates, SUVR of β-amyloid showed an increase of 0.028 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.004–0.061; P = 0.026], while that of tau exhibited an increase of 0.026 (95% CI 0.003–0.056; P = 0.033) per mean pure-tone increase by 10 dB (worsening). Likewise, per mean word-recognition score increase by 10%, the SUVR of β-amyloid showed an increase of 0.060 (95% CI 0.008–0.113; P = 0.023), while that of tau exhibited an increase of 0.059 (95% CI 0.009–0.111; P = 0.031). Taken together, our data demonstrates that hearing worsening was related to the increased burdens of β-amyloid as well as tau detected by PET, which were the AD pathological markers.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a subtype of mature B-cell proliferative neoplasms characterized by abnormally increasing lymphocytes in circulation. The diagnosis of CLL is usually established on peripheral blood analysis and typical flow cytometric immunophenotype rather than biopsy. In particular, the high RMH (Royal Marsden Hospital Scoring System for CLL) score of immunophenotype has a highly sensitive weight for diagnostic value. However, immunophenotyping by flow cytometry may also be misleading in specific clinical situations. Here, we report a case on admission with lymphadenopathy and lymphocytosis, misdiagnosed as chronic lymphocytic leukemia by flow cytometry initially but finally confirmed as follicular lymphoma (FL) in the leukemic phase via lymph node biopsy. Since FL in the leukemic phase is uncommon at the time of diagnosis and indicates a poorer prognosis of FL, such misdiagnosis is worthy of attention. It is also thought-provoking that there had been conflicts between immunophenotype of bone marrow and immunohistochemistry of lymph node. Our case report aims to remind clinicians’ awareness that the immunophenotyping by flow cytometric analysis needs to be interpreted with caution especially when the results cannot account for all of clinical features, and it is significant to make the right decision about when to conduct further examination including lymph node biopsy for avoiding misdiagnosis.

Secondary metabolites are closely related to the nutritional quality and health functions of plants. We investigated the secondary metabolites of both wild (n=23) and cultivated (n=27) pomegranate plants (Punica granatum L.) growing in China. Cervical cancer is a prevalent chronic malignant tumor in gynecology, necessitating high-quality images of cervical precancerous lesions to enhance detection rates. Addressing the challenges of low contrast, uneven illumination, and indistinct lesion details in such images, this paper proposes an enhancement algorithm based on retinex and histogram equalization. First, the algorithm solves the color deviation problem by modifying the quantization formula of retinex theory. Then, the contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization algorithm is selectively conducted on blue and green channels to avoid the problem of image visual quality reduction caused by drastic darkening of local dark areas. Next, a multi-scale detail enhancement algorithm is used to further sharpen the details. Finally, the problem of noise amplification and image distortion in the process of enhancement is alleviated by dynamic weighted fusion. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in optimizing brightness, enhancing contrast, sharpening details, and suppressing noise in cervical precancerous lesion images. The proposed algorithm has shown superior performance compared to other traditional methods based on objective indicators such as peak signal-to-noise ratio, detail-variance–background-variance, gray square mean deviation, contrast improvement index, and enhancement quality index.

In this study, a fiber coupled high power side-pumped Nd:YAG laser system for laser cleaning is presented. Based on the two-rod structure and two stages amplifiers, the maximum average output power of 783 W with corresponding pulse energy of 52 mJ at 15 kHz has been achieved. The fiber coupling efficiencies after the master oscillator, one stage amplifier and two stages amplifiers reach to 99%, 98.3% and 94%, respectively. A laser cleaning machine prototype composed of the master oscillator and one stage amplifier with an average output power of greater than 500 W has been developed and achieved better nondestructive cleaning effect for thermal control coating removal compared with commercial fiber laser cleaning machines. This study provides a new method for developing high power laser sources for nondestructive laser cleaning equipment.

Wireless resource utilizations are the focus of future communication, which are used constantly to alleviate the communication quality problem caused by the explosive interference with increasing users, especially the inter-cell interference in the multi-cell multi-user systems. To tackle this interference and improve the resource utilization rate, we proposed a joint-priority-based reinforcement learning (JPRL) approach to jointly optimize the bandwidth and transmit power allocation. This method aims to maximize the average throughput of the system while suppressing the co-channel interference and guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) constraint. Specifically, we de-coupled the joint problem into two sub-problems, i.e., the bandwidth assignment and power allocation sub-problems. The multi-agent double deep Q network (MADDQN) was developed to solve the bandwidth allocation sub-problem for each user and the prioritized multi-agent deep deterministic policy gradient (P-MADDPG) algorithm by deploying a prioritized replay buffer that is designed to handle the transmit power allocation sub-problem. Numerical results show that the proposed JPRL method could accelerate model training and outperform the alternative methods in terms of throughput. For example, the average throughput was approximately 10.4–15.5% better than the homogeneous-learning-based benchmarks, and about 17.3% higher than the genetic algorithm.

Corroded transmission towers, whose load-bearing capacities are lowered, are suffering from wind-induced damage. By simulating the member corrosion through section thinning, the structural dynamic finite element model of an angle-steel transmission tower with a corrosion depth of 0 mm to 1.4 mm was established using ANSYS/LS-DYNA software. The incremental dynamic analysis method was used to study the collapse mode of the tower under different degrees of corrosion, as well as the effects of corrosion on structural self-vibration characteristics, wind-induced member stress, and tower-top displacement. The results show that with the corrosion deepening, the first three vibration frequencies decrease, and the torsional mode becomes the first mode. When the corrosion depth is smaller, the overall structure failure occurs under strong wind. The failure starts at the most unfavorable oblique rod between the upper and middle cross arm, then expands to the rods under the lower cross arm. When the corrosion depth is larger, the overall structure failure occurs restrictedly between the upper and middle cross arm. Internal axial force and bending moment redistribution happen when corrosion deepens. Under the critical failure state, the oblique rods are always at a high stress level, while the stresses of the main rods decrease. Corrosion has a stronger impact on component strength and stability than on structural stiffness.

Abstract Knowledge of the changes in the immune microenvironment during pulmonary bacterial acute and chronic infections is limited. The dissection of immune system may provide a basis for effective therapeutic strategies against bacterial infection. Here, we describe a single immune cell atlas of mouse lungs after acute and chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection using single‐cell transcriptomics, multiplex immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Our single‐cell transcriptomic analysis revealed large‐scale comprehensive changes in immune cell composition and high variation in cell–cell interactions after acute and chronic P. aeruginosa infection. Bacterial infection reprograms the genetic architecture of immune cell populations. We identified specific immune cell types, including Cxcl2+ B cells and interstitial macrophages, in response to acute and chronic infection, such as their proportions, distribution, and functional status. Importantly, the patterns of immune cell response are drastically different between acute and chronic infection models. The distinct molecular signatures highlight the importance of the highly dynamic cell–cell interaction process in different pathological conditions, which has not been completely revealed previously. These findings provide a comprehensive and unbiased immune cellular landscape for respiratory pathogenesis in mice, enabling further understanding of immunologic mechanisms in infection and inflammatory diseases.

As the core place in the compressor station, the compressor room has the possibility of gas leakage and explosion during its operation. In this paper, an equal proportional physical model is established based on FLCAS software, the effects of different stoichiometric ratios on the explosion temperature, flame propagation velocity and overpressure in the compressor room are investigated. The results show that when the stoichiometric ratio is in the range of 0.8–1.4, the indoor temperature peak, flame propagation velocity and peak overpressure generated by the explosion in the compressor room all increase first and then decrease with the increase of the stoichiometric ratio. The outdoor temperature peak and the flame propagation velocity increase with the increase of the stoichiometric ratio in the range of 0.8–1.4, and the flame acceleration during the flame propagation process can effectively promote the increase of the explosion overpressure inside the flame surface. In addition, in order to avoid more serious consequences in the event of an explosion in the compressor room, a fire sprinkler system should be laid between the adjacent compressor room doors, and the doors of the adjacent compressor rooms should be installed in staggered positions to prevent the occurrence of secondary danger.

All-solid-state batteries are expected to become the best solution to replace current liquid lithium batteries, as they exhibit high safety and high ionic conductivity. The Li3ErCl6 and Li3YCl6 in transition metal lithium halide solid electrolytes have ionic conductivities of more than 10−4 orders of magnitude, so their study has become a hotspots in solid electrolyte research. However, in all-solid-state batteries assembled with Li3YCl6 and lithium metal with high energy density (3860 mAh/g), transition metal reductive dissolution occurs at the interface, which leads to a continuous reaction phenomenon. In view of these situations, first-principles methods are used to calculate the ionic conductivity of Li3TMCl6 (TM = Er, Y) and improve the stability of the Li| Li3TMCl6(Li|LTMC) interface. The results show that the incorporation of the same-valent ion La3+ into Li3YCl6 can increase the unit cell volume and make Li-Cl induce weaker Coulomb repulsion, can widen the Li+ diffusion channel and can reduce the activation energy by 25%. The higher valence ion Zr4+ is used instead of TM3+ to reduce the lithium ion concentration in the unit cell by charge compensation, thereby increasing the ionic conductivity to 10−2 S·cm-1. In addition, the interfacial atomic interactions at the Li|LTMC picosecond time scale are described, and the interfacial interaction is exacerbated by the electron tunneling effect, which causes the transition metal TM to dissolve at the microscopic scale. LiCl deposition of LTMC to form a double-layer lithium halide solid electrolyte effectively inhibited the electron tunneling phenomenon and improved the interface stability.
