Mechanical stress related to chip packaging failure is the most common reliability issue in semiconductor devices, especially for high pattern density of very-large-scale integration. In this paper, redistribution lines (RDL) corresponding to gold and copper materials with capped layers (Sn-Ag and Au-Ni) were evaluated to investigate the structure dependency on the mechanical properties of intermetallic compounds, and to provide a solution to improve chip package reliability in regard to protect Si3N4 cracks. The simulation results revealed that a thicker Si3N4 film combined with the corner rounding of bump/RDL structures could mitigate Si3N4 film cracks. Voids induced by the fine pitch configuration of the top Al increase the potential risk of Si3N4 cracks during chip packaging. The reflow temperature is a major factor increasing the thermal stress in RDL patterns rather than from the bump structure. A high temperature storage test applied to the Cu pillar/Sn-Ag capping was used to investigate the intermetallic compound growth, shear strength, and hardness.

Anti-polyethylene glycol (PEG) antibodies are present in many healthy individuals as well as in patients receiving polyethylene glycol-functionalized drugs. Antibodies against PEG-coated nanocarriers can accelerate their clearance, but their impact on nanodrug properties including nanocarrier integrity is unclear. Here, we show that anti-PEG IgG and IgM antibodies bind to PEG molecules on the surface of PEG-coated liposomal doxorubicin (Doxil, Doxisome, LC-101, and Lipo-Dox), resulting in complement activation, formation of the membrane attack complex (C5b-9) in the liposomal membrane, and rapid release of encapsulated doxorubicin from the liposomes. Drug release depended on both classical and alternative pathways of complement activation. Doxorubicin release of up to 40% was also observed in rats treated with anti-PEG IgG and PEG-coated liposomal doxorubicin. Our results demonstrate that anti-PEG antibodies can disrupt the membrane integrity of PEG-coated liposomal doxorubicin through activation of complement, which may alter therapeutic efficacy and safety in patients with high levels of pre-existing antibodies against PEG.

The surge of COVID-19 infection cases is spurred by emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants such as B.1.617. Here we report 38 cryo-EM structures, corresponding to the spike protein of the Beta (B.1.351), Gamma (P.1), Delta (B.1.617.2) and Kappa (B.1.617.1) variants in different functional states with and without its receptor, ACE2. Mutations on the N-terminal domain not only alter the conformation of the highly antigenic supersite of the Delta variant, but also remodel the glycan shield by deleting or adding N-glycans of the Delta and Gamma variants, respectively. Substantially enhanced ACE2 binding was observed for all variants, whose mutations on the receptor binding domain modulate the electrostatics of the binding interfaces. Despite their abilities to escape host immunity, all variants can be potently neutralized by three unique antibodies.

The D614G mutation in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 alters the fitness of the virus, leading to the dominant form observed in the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the molecular basis of the mechanism by which this mutation enhances fitness is not clear. Here we demonstrated by cryo-electron microscopy that the D614G mutation resulted in increased propensity of multiple receptor-binding domains (RBDs) in an upward conformation poised for host receptor binding. Multiple substates within the one RBD-up or two RBD-up conformational space were determined. According to negative staining electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and differential scanning fluorimetry, the most significant impact of the mutation lies in its ability to eliminate the unusual cold-induced unfolding characteristics and to significantly increase the thermal stability under physiological pH. The D614G spike variant also exhibited exceptional long-term stability when stored at 37 °C for up to 2 months. Our findings shed light on how the D614G mutation enhances the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 through a stabilizing mutation and suggest an approach for better design of spike protein-based conjugates for vaccine development.

The sample grids for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) experiments are usually prepared at a temperature optimal for the storage of biological samples, mostly at 4 °C and occasionally at room temperature. Recently, we discovered that the protein structure solved at low temperature may not be functionally relevant, particularly for proteins from thermophilic archaea. A procedure was developed to prepare protein samples at higher temperatures (up to 70 °C) for cryo-EM analysis. We showed that the structures from samples prepared at higher temperatures are functionally relevant and temperature dependent. Here we describe a detailed protocol for preparing sample grids at high temperature, using 55 °C as an example. The experiment made use of a vitrification apparatus modified using an additional centrifuge tube, and samples were incubated at 55 °C. The detailed procedures were fine-tuned to minimize vapor condensation and obtain a thin layer of ice on the grid. Examples of successful and unsuccessful experiments are provided.

The UK variant of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), known as B.1.1.7, harbors several point mutations and deletions on the spike (s) protein, which potentially alter its structural epitopes to evade host immunity while enhancing host receptor binding. Here we report the cryo-EM structures of the S protein of B.1.1.7 in its apo form and in the receptor ACE2-bound form. One or two of the three receptor binding domains (RBDs) were in the open conformation but no fully closed form was observed. In the ACE-bound form, all three RBDs were engaged in receptor binding. The B.1.1.7-specific A570D mutation introduced a salt bridge switch that could modulate the opening and closing of the RBD. Furthermore, the N501Y mutation in the RBD introduced a favorable π-π interaction manifested in enhanced ACE2 binding affinity. The N501Y mutation abolished the neutralization activity of one of the three potent neutralizing antibodies (nAbs). Cryo-EM showed that the cocktail of other two nAbs simultaneously bound to all three RBDs. Furthermore, the nAb cocktail synergistically neutralized different SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus strains, including the B.1.1.7.

In our previous study, we produced a monoclonal antibody EB2 that recognized an epitope in the HA1 domain on the hemagglutinin (HA) of H6N1 influenza virus (A/chicken/Taiwan/2838 V/00). The residue Arg-201 (R201) on this epitope was protected by the glycan at Asn-167 (N167) from tryptic digestion; therefore, the infectivity of the virus was retained. R201 was extremely conserved in various subtypes of the influenza virus. To explore the role of R201 and the protecting glycan, we developed a bi-cistronic baculovirus expression system for the production of H6HA1 and H6HA0 (nearly full-length HA), which were glycosylated in insect cells. The expressed H6HA1 was mostly found in the trimeric form, and the H6HA0 protein was only found in the monomeric form. The trimeric H6HA1 was resistant to tryptic digestion; however, it could not bind to fetuin, a glycoprotein containing sialylated N-linked and O-linked glycans. By contrast, the monomeric H6HA0 could bind to fetuin but was sensitive to tryptic digestion. We found that the positive charge on R201 was critical for binding HA to the negatively charged surface of host cells because the mutant R201A of H6HA0 lost its binding capacity substantially. Moreover, this binding capacity was dependent on the pH value and inhibited by free electrically charged amino acids. We propose a two-step model for binding the influenza virus with a host cell. The first step involved the specific recognition of the receptor binding site on HA to the sialylated glycan on the host cell. After the virus is engulfed by the acidic endosome, R201 could bind to the cell surface with stronger interactions and trigger the fusion process.

The B.1.1.7 variant of SARS-CoV-2 first detected in the UK harbors amino-acid substitutions and deletions in the spike protein that potentially enhance host angiotensin conversion enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor binding and viral immune evasion. Here we report cryo-EM structures of the spike protein of B.1.1.7 in the apo and ACE2-bound forms. The apo form showed one or two receptor-binding domains (RBDs) in the open conformation, without populating the fully closed state. All three RBDs were engaged in ACE2 binding. The B.1.1.7-specific A570D mutation introduces a molecular switch that could modulate the opening and closing of the RBD. The N501Y mutation introduces a π-π interaction that enhances RBD binding to ACE2 and abolishes binding of a potent neutralizing antibody (nAb). Cryo-EM also revealed how a cocktail of two nAbs simultaneously bind to all three RBDs, and demonstrated the potency of the nAb cocktail to neutralize different SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus strains, including B.1.1.7.

Development of effective therapeutics for mitigating the COVID-19 pandemic is a pressing global need. Neutralizing antibodies are known to be effective antivirals, as they can be rapidly deployed to prevent disease progression and can accelerate patient recovery without the need for fully developed host immunity. Here, we report the generation and characterization of a series of chimeric antibodies against the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein. Some of these antibodies exhibit exceptionally potent neutralization activities in vitro and in vivo, and the most potent of our antibodies target three distinct non-overlapping epitopes within the RBD. Cryo-electron microscopy analyses of two highly potent antibodies in complex with the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein suggested they may be particularly useful when combined in a cocktail therapy. The efficacy of this antibody cocktail was confirmed in SARS-CoV-2-infected mouse and hamster models as prophylactic and post-infection treatments. With the emergence of more contagious variants of SARS-CoV-2, cocktail antibody therapies hold great promise to control disease and prevent drug resistance., Author summary Effective approaches to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic are a pressing global need. One promising strategy is to combine neutralizing antibodies that can reduce viral load to prevent disease progression and accelerate patient recovery. However, the current supply of therapeutic antibodies for COVID-19 is insufficient to fill the enormous demand, and escape mutants may compromise the utility of existing drugs. Thus, there is an urgent worldwide need to develop highly potent neutralizing antibody cocktails. We generated a series of chimeric antibodies against the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which potently neutralize authentic SARS-CoV-2 infection according to the plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) and pseudovirus-based inhibition assay. These antibodies can be classified into three distinct groups based on their targets within the receptor-binding motif. Cryo-electron microscopy structural analyses of two representative receptor-binding domain-chimeric antibodies in complex with the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein further revealed two sets of non-overlapping epitopes, suggesting the potential for their combination in a therapeutic antibody cocktail. The prophylactic and therapeutic effects of these antibodies and their combination were demonstrated in SARS-CoV-2-infected mouse and hamster models. Thus, our potent neutralizing antibody cocktail has strong potential for development as an effective therapeutic drug to prevent and treat SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Plating has long been recognized as a promising alternative to screen printing in commercial PV metallization due to its cost-saving and scaling-up potential. In this paper, we investigated the laser doping effects on plated contact formation. Critical parameters, such as laser power, focal position, and scanning speed, have been systematically analyzed by comparing their impacts on surface morphology, electrical properties, and plating results. Moreover, it was found the LD openings made by different laser resources would need different plating strategies. We have also successfully developed a baseline procedure integrating laser doping and hydrogenation passivation for bifacial plated PERC solar cells. Despite severe technical challenges in experimental conditions, up to 20.4% cell efficiency has been achieved, which evidentially demonstrates the commercial potential of plated contacts.

Double pulse resistance spot welding process by applying a second step welding current is a new pathway to alter the mechanical properties for advanced high strength steels. Herein, the resistance spot welding (RSW) of hot stamped boron steel 15B22 by one-step and two-step welding with different welding currents is investigated. The results of the tensile–shear test, size of the weld nugget, hardness distribution, microstructure, and failure mode of different welding parameters are analyzed. The weldment of the two-step RSW with a higher heat input exhibits a lower tensile–shear load and lower fracture energy when the size of the weld nugget is large. The microstructural study reveals the appearance of a partially melted zone and sub-critical heat affected zone in the weldment where the fracture readily occurred. Thus, the two-step RSW process weakens the strength of the sample, which is attributed to the partial softening in the weldment due to the higher heat input.

A lipid–polymer composite structure was developed for tuning of inertial cavitation activity of microbubbles under ultrasound exposure. The incorporation of a thin layer of polymer networks inside the lipid monolayer resulted in marked reduction in the inertial cavitation dose. This strategy has the potential to increase the safety of ultrasound theranostic applications assisted by microbubble cavitation.

Feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV) is an alphacoronavirus that causes a nearly 100% mortality rate without effective treatment. Here we report a 3.3-Å cryoelectron microscopy (cryo-EM) structure of the serotype I FIPV spike (S) protein, which is responsible for host recognition and viral entry. Mass spectrometry provided site-specific compositions of densely distributed high-mannose and complex-type N - glycans that account for 1/4 of the total molecular mass; most of the N-glycans could be visualized by cryo-EM. Specifically, the N-glycans that wedge between 2 galectin-like domains within the S1 subunit of FIPV S protein result in a unique propeller-like conformation, underscoring the importance of glycosylation in maintaining protein structures. The cleavage site within the S2 subunit responsible for activation also showed distinct structural features and glycosylation. These structural insights provide a blueprint for a better molecular understanding of the pathogenesis of FIP.

Protein functions are temperature-dependent, but protein structures are usually solved at a single (often low) temperature because of limitations on the conditions of crystal growth or protein vitrification. Interval type-2 (IT2) Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy control of permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is developed in this paper. IT2 T-S fuzzy system is proposed to control speed and current of a PMSM. The IT2 T-S fuzzy model of a PMSM is first derived from its nonlinear dynamic model. Next, the IT2 T-S fuzzy controller is designed via parallel distributed compensation (PDC). The stability conditions of the proposed controller are obtained by Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI). The encoder signals are implemented to calculate rotor speed and rotor position. The three-phase winding currents are properly sensed into the microcontroller. The corresponding duty ratios of power switches are determined using IT2 T-S fuzzy controller. Finally, the driving performance is validated via experimental results. Moreover, the interval type-1 T-S fuzzy control is compared to verify the improvement in driving performance.

Acoustic inertial cavitation (IC) is a crucial phenomenon for many ultrasound (US)-related applications. This study aimed to investigate the roles of textural and surface properties of NPs in IC generation by combining typical IC detection methods with various types of silica model NPs. Acoustic passive cavitation detection, optical high-speed photography, and US imaging have been used to quantify IC activities (referred to as the IC dose, ICD) and describe the physical characteristics of IC activities from NPs. The results showed that the ICDs from NPs were positively correlated to their surface hydrophobicity and that their external surface hydrophobicity plays a much more crucial role than do the textural properties. The high-speed photography revealed that the sizes of IC-generated bubbles from superhydrophobic NPs ranged from 20-40 μm at 4-6 MPa and collapsed in several microseconds. Bubble clouds monitored with US imaging showed that IC from NPs was consistent with the surface hydrophobicity. The simulation results based on the crevice model of cavitation nuclei correlated well with the experimental results. This study has demonstrated that the surface property, instead of the textural property, of NPs dominated the IC generation, and surface nanobubbles adsorbed on the NP surface have been proposed to be cavitation nuclei.

The major challenges in gene therapy for brain cancer are poor transgene expression due to the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and neurologic damage caused by conventional intracerebral injection. Non-viral gene delivery using ultrasound-targeted microbubbles (MBs) oscillation via the systematic transvascular route is attractive, but there is currently no high-yielding and targeted gene expression method. In this study, we developed a non-viral and angiogenesis-targeting gene delivery approach for efficient brain tumor gene therapy without brain damage. We developed a VEGFR2-targeted and cationic microbubbles (VCMBs) gene vector for use with transcranial focused ultrasound (FUS) exposure to allow transient gene delivery. The system was tested in a brain tumor model using the firefly luciferase gene and herpes simplex virus type 1 thymidine kinase/ganciclovir (pHSV-TK/GCV) with VCMBs under FUS exposure for transgene expression and anti-tumor effect. In vitro data showed that VCMBs have a high DNA-loading efficiency and high affinity for cancer cells. In vivo data confirmed that this technique enhanced gene delivery into tumor tissues without affecting normal brain tissues. The VCMBs group resulted in higher luciferase expression (3.8 fold) relative to the CMBs group (1.9 fold), and the direct injection group. The tumor volume on day 25 was significantly smaller in rats treated with the pHSV-TK/GCV system using VCMBs under FUS (9.7±5.2mm3) than in the direct injection group (40.1±4.3mm3). We demonstrated the successful use of DNA-loaded VCMBs and FUS for non-viral, non-invasive and targeted gene delivery to brain tumors.

Microbubbles have been widely studied as ultrasound contrast agents for diagnosis and as drug/gene carriers for therapy. However, their size and stability (lifetime of 5-12min) limited their applications. The development of stable nanoscale ultrasound contrast agents would therefore benefit both. Generating bubbles persistently in situ would be one of the promising solutions to the problem of short lifetime. We hypothesized that bubbles could be generated in situ by providing stable air nuclei since it has been found that the interfacial nanobubbles on a hydrophobic surface have a much longer lifetime (orders of days). Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) with large surface areas and different levels of hydrophobicity were prepared to test our hypothesis. It is clear that the superhydrophobic and porous nanoparticles exhibited a significant and strong contrast intensity compared with other nanoparticles. The bubbles generated from superhydrophobic nanoparticles sustained for at least 30min at a MI of 1.0, while lipid microbubble lasted for about 5min at the same settings. In summary MSNs have been transformed into reliable bubble precursors by making simple superhydrophobic modification, and made into a promising contrast agent with the potentials to serve as theranostic agents that are sensitive to ultrasound stimulation.

Previous studies have demonstrated that circulating DNA-encapsulated microbubbles (MBs) combined with focused ultrasound (FUS) can be used for local blood-brain barrier (BBB) opening and gene delivery. However, few studies focused on how to increase the efficiency of gene delivery to brain tumors after the released gene penetrating the BBB. Here, we proposed the use of folate-conjugated DNA-loaded cationic MBs (FCMBs). When combined with FUS as a trigger for BBB opening, FCMBs were converted into nanometer-sized vesicles that were transported to the brain parenchyma. The FCMBs can selectively aggregate around tumor cells that overexpressed the folate receptor, thus enhancing gene delivery via folate-stimulated endocytosis. Our results confirmed that FCMBs can carry DNA on the surface of the MB shell and have good targeting ability on C6 glioma cells. In addition, the optimized FUS parameters for FCMBs-enhanced gene delivery were confirmed by cell experiments (center frequency = 1 MHz; acoustic pressure = 700 kPa; pulse repetition frequency = 5 Hz; cycle number = 10000; exposure time = 1 min; FCMBs concentration = 4 × 10 7 MB/mL). In vivo data also indicated that FCMBs show better gene transfection efficiency than MBs without folate conjugation and the traditional approach of directly injecting the gene. This study described our novel development of multifunctional MBs for FUS-triggered gene delivery/therapy.

The current control of the permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) using an interval type-2 (IT2) Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems is designed and implemented. PMSG is an energy conversion unit widely used in wind energy generation systems and energy storage systems. Its performance is determined by the current control approach. IT2 T-S fuzzy systems are implemented to deal with the nonlinearity of a PMSG system in this paper. First, the IT2 T-S fuzzy model of a PMSG is obtained. Second, the IT2 T-S fuzzy controller is designed based on the concept of parallel distributed compensation (PDC). Next, the stability analysis can be conducted through the Lyapunov theorem. Accordingly, the stability conditions of the closed-loop system are expressed in Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) form. The AC power from a PMSG is converted to DC power via a three-phase six-switch full bridge converter. The six-switch full bridge converter is controlled by the proposed IT2 T-S fuzzy controller. The analog-to-digital (ADC) conversion, rotor position calculation and duty ratio determination are digitally accomplished by the microcontroller. Finally, simulation and experimental results verify the performance of the proposed current control.

The derived system model of PMSG is nonlinear, and IT2 T-S fuzzy systems will be applied to nonlinear system control. IT2 T-S fuzzy model of a PMSG is first established. Next, IT2 T-S fuzzy control algorithm and stability terms are derived. After defuzzification, IT2 T-S fuzzy current control is developed through parallel distributed compensation (PDC) method. The current controller gain is obtained by Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI). Three-phase AC output power of PMSG is converted to DC load power. The DC output voltage and PMSG winding currents are properly converted into the microcontroller. The duty ratios of six switches are calculated via the proposed controller. Finally, the controller performance is validated by experiments.

While cryo-EM is revolutionizing structural biology, its impact on enzymology is yet to be fully demonstrated. The ketol-acid reductoisomerase (KARI) catalyzes conversion of (2 S)-acetolactate or (2 S)-aceto-2-hydroxybutyrate to 2,3-dihydroxy-3-alkylbutyrate. We found that KARI from archaea Sulfolobus solfataricus (Sso-KARI) is unusual in being a dodecamer, bispecific to NADH and NADPH, and losing activity above pH 7.8. While crystals were obtainable only at pH 8.5, cryo-EM structures were solved at pH 7.5 and 8.5 for Sso-KARI:2Mg

In patients who survive myocardial infarction, many go on to develop congestive heart failure (CHF). Despite ongoing efforts to develop new approaches for postinfarction therapy, there are still no effective therapeutic options available to CHF patients. Currently, the delivery of cardioprotective drugs relies entirely on passive uptake via the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect which occurs in proximity to the infarction site. However, in ischemic disease, unlike in cancer, the EPR effect only exists for a short duration postinfarction and thus insufficient for meaningful cardioprotection. Splenic monocytes are recruited to the heart in large numbers postinfarction, and are known to interact with platelets during circulation. Therefore, the strategy is to exploit this interaction by developing platelet-like proteoliposomes (PLPs), biomimicking platelet interactions with circulating monocytes. PLPs show strong binding affinity for monocytes but not for endothelial cells in vitro, mimicking normal platelet activity. Furthermore, intravital multiphoton imaging shows that comparing to plain liposomes, PLPs do not aggregate on uninjured endothelium but do accumulate at the injury site 72 h postinfarction. Importantly, PLPs enhance the targeting of anti-inflammatory drug, cobalt protoporphyrin, to the heart in an EPR-independent manner, which result in better therapeutic outcome.

The speed control of the surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) based on Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy models is designed and implemented in this paper. In motor drive speed control, proportional-integral controller is generally applied. However, the tracking performance and load regulation capability should be compromised in the designing process of the controller. This study develops a speed controller based on the T–S fuzzy model with good tracking ability and load variation regulation. First, the dynamic model of an SPMSM is demonstrated and the load torque variation is treated as disturbances. Accordingly, the speed control strategy is developed based on the T–S fuzzy model. The defuzzification process and parallel distributed compensation are introduced. The ability of disturbance suppression and the Lyapunov stability of this system are established and analyzed. The controller gains are obtained via the linear matrix inequality toolbox. The speed control and all essential procedures are realized by the microcontroller Renesas RX62T. The tracking performance and load regulation capability are verified by the experimental results.

The Lon AAA+ protease (LonA) plays important roles in protein homeostasis and regulation of diverse biological processes. LonA behaves as a homomeric hexamer in the presence of magnesium (Mg(2+)) and performs ATP-dependent proteolysis. However, it is also found that LonA can carry out Mg(2+)-dependent degradation of unfolded protein substrate in an ATP-independent manner. Here we show that in the presence of Mg(2+) LonA forms a non-secluded hexameric barrel with prominent openings, which explains why Mg(2+)-activated LonA can operate as a diffusion-based chambered protease to degrade unstructured protein and peptide substrates efficiently in the absence of ATP. A 1.85 Å crystal structure of Mg(2+)-activated protease domain reveals Mg(2+)-dependent remodeling of a substrate-binding loop and a potential metal-binding site near the Ser-Lys catalytic dyad, supported by biophysical binding assays and molecular dynamics simulations. Together, these findings reveal the specific roles of Mg(2+) in the molecular assembly and activation of LonA.

The division-summation (D-Σ) current control and one-cycle voltage regulation (OCVR) of a 5-kW surface-mounted permanent-magnet synchronous generator (SPMSG) drive is developed. With the advancement of motor manufacturing, motor design, digital control units and power electronics converters, the permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is broadly applied to electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, flywheel energy storage system and wind power generators. Satisfactory current control scheme of a PMSG is significant to achieve desired generating performance. The D-Σ current control is proposed and derived from the conventional space-vector modulation and two-phase modulation. A simplification of the complex self- and mutual inductances in a PMSG is demonstrated. The proposed current control can achieve the current waveform tracking through the simplification of winding inductances without parameter designing procedure of the feedback controller. The computation time of the microcontroller is reduced via the proposed current control scheme. The processing times of the conventional control and the D-Σ control are compared. Moreover, the dc-link voltage can be well regulated by the proposed OCVR. This method can reduce the complexity of the voltage controller design. The merits of these two methods are easy to implement and the parameter designing procedure of the feedback controller is unnecessary. In addition, the system stability and the parameter sensitivity are analyzed and evaluated. Some measured waveforms verify the current tracking, torque ripple, dynamic performance and voltage regulation of the SPMSG drive. The reduction of the switching losses is verified by the calculation results.
