Vitis amurensis grape cultivars and hybrids are mainly used to make wines in Northeast Asia with a cold winter. Anthocyanidin glucosylation at 5-O position catalyzed by 5-O-glucosyltransferase (5GT) in grape skins is crucial for color stability of red wines. To study 5GT functions in anthocyanidin diglucosides synthesis of V. amurensis, 20 5GTs were preliminarily identified from a genome-wide characterization of the UDP-glycosyltransferase family according to the reported 5GTs, which were also performed phylogenetic and bioinformatics analysis. Two important 5GTs, Vitvi0900582.t01 and Vitvi05g01269.t01, were screened through analyses of anthocyanidin diglucosides accumulation and gene expression in berry skins of three representative grape cultivars with significant differences in anthocyanin glycosylation. Fourteen alleles of each of the 5GTs were cloned from 14 V. amurensis cultivars and hybrids as well as from V. vinifera ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’, and sequence analysis and functional prediction were performed. From three perspectives of phenotype, transcriptional level, and genotype, it has been found that the functional allele at the Vitvi0900582.t01 locus of Chr 9 played a decisive role in the synthesis of abundant anthocyanidin diglucosides in V. amurensis. In addition, the trace anthocyanidin diglucosides detected in V. vinifera ‘Cabernet Sauvignon’ were led by the functional allele at the Vitvi05g01269.t01 locus of Chr 5. This study provides preliminary data for further research on the regulatory mechanism of anthocyanidin diglucosides in the grapes with the V. amurensis pedigree to improve their wine quality in future breeding efforts.

Objective To establish an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method for the determination of residual human coagulation factor Ⅺ in human prothrombin complex and validate the method. Methods Human factor Ⅺ was reacted with the capture antibody coated on the microtiter plate. After appropriate washing steps, biotinylated primary antibody was bound to the captured protein. Excess primary antibody was washed away and bound antibody was reacted with horseradish peroxidase conjugated streptavidin. TMB substrate was used for color development at 450 nm. The dilution reliability, accuracy, specificity, repeatability, intermediate precision, linearity, range and durability were verified. Results The verification results showed that the accuracy and specificity of this method met the experimental requirements, with an average recovery rate of 109.2% and RSD of 6.93%. The repeatability RSD was 6.78%, and the intermediate precision RSD was 6.75%, indicating good precision. The linear regression correlation coefficient of standard curve was 0.999 9, showing good accuracy and precision within the linear range. The durability was verified by the incubation time and the validity period of reagent kit opening. The results showed that the RSD of the incubation time change was 6.62%, indicating that the incubation time of this detection method was controlled between 28 to 32 minutes, and there was no significant impact on the results. The RSD of the detection results before and after the reagent kit was opened and stored under conditions for 7 days was 3.84%, indicating that the preservation of the reagent kit according to the conditions for 7 days after opening has no effect on the FⅪ detection results. Both indicated that the method had good durability. The dilution reliability results showed that there was a "hook" effect in the detection of FⅪ residue in human prothrombin complex, which could be solved by diluting 100 to 200 times. Conclusion This method can be used for the determination of FⅪ residues of human prothrombin complex in laboratory.

Abstract The electrolyte solvation structure and the solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation are critical to dictate the morphology of lithium deposition in organic electrolytes. However, the link between the electrolyte solvation structure and SEI composition and its implications on lithium morphology evolution are poorly understood. Herein, we use a single-salt and single-solvent model electrolyte system to systematically study the correlation between the electrolyte solvation structure, SEI formation process and lithium deposition morphology. The mechanism of lithium deposition is thoroughly investigated using cryo-electron microscopy characterizations and computational simulations. It is observed that, in the high concentration electrolytes, concentrated Li+ and anion-dominated solvation structure initiate the uniform Li nucleation kinetically and favor the decomposition of anions rather than solvents, resulting in inorganic-rich amorphous SEI with high interface energy, which thermodynamically facilitates the formation of granular Li. On the contrary, solvent-dominated solvation structure in the low concentration electrolytes tends to exacerbate the solvolysis process, forming organic-rich mosaic SEI with low interface energy, which leads to aggregated whisker-like nucleation and growth. These results are helpful to tackle the long-standing question on the origin of lithium dendrite formation and guide the rational design of high-performance electrolytes for advanced lithium metal batteries.

Abstract Recruiting endogenous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in vivo to bone defect sites shows great promise in cell therapies for bone tissue engineering, which tackles the shortcomings of delivering exogenous stem cells, including limited sources, low retention, stemness loss, and immunogenicity. However, it remains challenging to efficiently recruit stem cells while simultaneously directing cell differentiation in the dynamic microenvironment and promoting neo‐regenerated tissue ingrowth to achieve augmented bone regeneration. Herein, a synthetic macroporous double‐network hydrogel presenting nucleic acid aptamer and nano‐inducer enhances BMSCs recruitment, and osteogenic differentiation is demonstrated. An air‐in‐water template enables the rapid construction of highly interconnective macroporous structures, and the physical self‐assembly of DNA strands and chemical cross‐linking of gelatin chains synergistically generate a resilient double network. The aptamer Apt19S and black phosphorus nanosheets‐specific macroporous hydrogel demonstrate highly efficient endogenous BMSCs recruitment, cell differentiation, and extracellular matrix mineralization. Notably, the enhanced calvarial bone healing with promising matrix mineralization and new bone formation is accompanied by adapting this engineered hydrogel to the bone defects. The findings suggest an appealing material approach overcoming the traditional limitations of cell‐delivery therapy that can inspire the future design of next‐generation hydrogel for enhanced bone tissue regeneration.

While hydrogels find applications in wearable sensors and electronic skins, they are prone to fatigue fractures upon deformation cycling. Xiong et al. report the synthesis of conductive polymerizable rotaxane hydrogels, exhibiting large fatigue resistance, for 3D printable flexible sensors.

The classical 3D-printed scaffolds have attracted enormous interests in bone regeneration due to the customized structural and mechanical adaptability to bone defects. However, the pristine scaffolds still suffer from the absence of dynamic and bioactive microenvironment that is analogous to natural extracellular matrix (ECM) to regulate cell behaviour and promote tissue regeneration. To address this challenge, we develop a black phosphorus nanosheets-enabled dynamic DNA hydrogel to integrate with 3D-printed scaffold to build a bioactive gel-scaffold construct to achieve enhanced angiogenesis and bone regeneration. The black phosphorus nanosheets reinforce the mechanical strength of dynamic self-healable hydrogel and endow the gel-scaffold construct with preserved protein binding to achieve sustainable delivery of growth factor. We further explore the effects of this activated construct on both human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) as well as in a critical-sized rat cranial defect model. The results confirm that the gel-scaffold construct is able to promote the growth of mature blood vessels as well as induce osteogenesis to promote new bone formation, indicating that the strategy of nano-enabled dynamic hydrogel integrated with 3D-printed scaffold holds great promise for bone tissue engineering.

Background Human parvovirus B19 (B19V) is a common contaminant found in plasma pools and plasma derivatives. Previous studies were mainly focused on limited aspects, further assessment of prevalence of B19V DNA and antibodies in plasma donors, the contamination of B19V in pooled plasma and plasma derivatives should be performed in China. Study Design and Methods Individual plasma donors’ samples from four provinces and pooled plasma from four Chinese blood product manufacturers were collected and screened using B19V DNA diagnostic kits between October 2018 and May 2020. The positive samples were investigated for the seroprevalence of B19V antibodies and subjected to sequence analysis and alignment for phylogenetic studies. Moreover, 11 plasma donors who were B19V DNA-positive at their first testing were also followed during the later donation period. Additionally, 400 plasma pools and 20 batches of plasma derivatives produced by pooled plasma with a viral load of B19V DNA exceeding 104IU/mL were also collected and tested for B19V DNA and antibodies. Objectives To comprehensively and systematically determine the frequency and viral load of B19V DNA in plasma donors, pooled plasma, and plasma derivatives from four Chinese blood product manufacturers. Results A total of 17,187 plasma donors were analyzed and 44 (0.26%) specimens were found positive for B19V DNA. The quantitative DNA levels ranged from 1.01 × 101 to 5.09 × 1012 IU/mL. Forty-four DNA-positive specimens were also investigated for the seroprevalence of B19V antibodies, 75.0% and 2.3% of which were seropositive for B19V IgG and IgM antibodies, respectively. The phylogenic analyses showed that the prevalent genotypes in the four provinces’ plasma donors belonged to B19V Genotype 1. Eleven individual plasma donors who were B19V DNA-positive at the first donation were then followed for a period, and in general, the DNA levels of B19V gradually decreased. Moreover, 64.8% (259/400) of the pooled plasma was contaminated by B19V, with concentrations of 1.05 × 100–3.36 × 109IU/mL. Approximately 72.6% of the DNA-positive plasma pools were only moderately contaminated (104 IU/mL. Twenty batches of plasma derivatives produced by pooled plasma with a viral load of B19V DNA exceeding 104IU/mL were also tested. B19V was detected in 5/5 PCC samples and 5/5 factor VIII samples but was not found in the intravenous immune globulin and albumin samples. Conclusion The contamination of B19V in pooled plasma and plasma-derived clotting factor concentrates is serious. Whether B19V nucleic acid testing (NAT) screening of plasma and plasma derivatives is launched in China, blood product manufacturers should spontaneously perform B19V NAT screening in plasma donors and mini-pool plasma. These measures can ensure that samples with high titer B19V DNA are discarded in order to prevent and control this transfusion transmitted virus.

Endowing adhesives with both dry and wet adhesion to surfaces from hard substrates to soft biological tissues is challenging. Herein, a branched supramolecular polymer is introduced in dry‐ and wet‐crosslinking forms to adaptively achieve dry and wet interfacial adhesion. The branched supramolecular polymer (PAMU) with multiple pendant functional moieties is prepared by one‐pot reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. The PAMU polymer solution can firmly adhere to glass sheets after the water evaporates. The aqueous solution of PAMU polymer with residual double bonds can be further polymerized to form a wet crosslinking network. The hydrogen bonding moieties endow the supramolecular network with self‐healing properties, while the in situ polymerization of the PAMU polymer leads to stable adhesion to wet tissues. This study provides a promising approach to develop supramolecular adhesives for versatile adhesion applications.

Abstract PandaX-4T is a ton-scale dark matter direct detection experiment using a dual-phase TPC technique at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. Various ultra-low background technologies have been developed and applied to material screening for PandaX-4T, including HPGe gamma spectroscopy, ICP-MS, NAA, radon emanation measurement system, krypton assay station, and alpha detection system. Low background materials were selected to assemble the detector. Surface treatment procedures were investigated to further suppress radioactive background. Combining measured results and Monte Carlo simulation, the total material background rates of PandaX-4T in the energy region of 1–25 keVee are estimated to be (9.9 ± 1.9) × 10 −3 mDRU for electron recoil and (2.8 ± 0.6) × 10 −4 mDRU for nuclear recoil. In addition, natKr in the detector is estimated to be < 8 ppt.

We present the constraints on the axial-vector and pseudo-scalar mediated WIMP-nucleus interactions from the PandaX-4T experiment, using the data set corresponding to a total exposure of 0.63 tonne⋅year. No significant signal excess is observed, and the most stringent constraints to date on the mediator mass are set for the axial-vector and pseudo-scalar simplified models. The maximum excluded mass of an axial-vector mediator is 825 GeV/c2 and that of a pseudo-scalar mediator is 106 GeV/c2. In addition, the upper limits on the spin-dependent WIMP-nucleon scattering cross-section for conventional neutron-only and proton-only interactions are derived.

Objective: Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (hBMSC)-derived exosomes exhibit protective effects against inflammatory diseases. This study aimed to explore the effects of hBMSC-derived exosomes on osteoarthritis (OA) in vitro and its related mechanisms. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, we characterised exosomes derived from hBMSCs by transmission electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking and Western blot analysis. Cellular uptake of exosomes was observed by fluorescent microscopy. Cell viability of chondrocytes exposed to interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) was determined by the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8). Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to determine expression levels of genes related to apoptosis, inflammation, cartilage collagen metabolism and mitogen-activated protein kinases. Results: Fluorescence microscopy revealed that hBMSC-derived exosomes could be taken up by chondrocytes. hBMSC-derived exosomes could significantly enhance cell viability of chondrocytes in response to IL-1β treatment. RT-qPCR showed significant up-regulation of Survivin, Versican, IL-1β, IL-6, NF-κB, MMP-13, MAPK p38, JNK, ERK, Aggrecan and SOX9 expression levels by IL-1β treatment, while their mRNA expression levels decreased after coculture with exosomes. The anti-inflammatory gene TGF-β was markedly suppressed by IL-1β treatment; however, we observed its expression after co-culture with exosomes. Additionally, the pro-inflammatory genes IL-1β, IL-6, NF-κB, TNF-α and TNF-β displayed significantly elevated expression levels in the IL-1β group and reduced expression levels after co-culture with exosomes. Conclusion: hBMSC-derived exosomes may play a protective role in chondrocytes through inhibiting cell apoptosis and the inflammatory response. These results will provide a novel therapeutic strategy for OA.

In the two-component Majorana dark matter model, one dark matter particle can scatter off the target nuclei, and turn into a slightly heavier component. In the framework of a simplified model with a vector boson mediator, both the tree-level and loop-level processes contribute to the signal in direct detection experiment. In this paper, we report the search results for such dark matter from PandaX-II experiment, using total data of the full 100.7 tonne⋅day exposure. No significant excess is observed, so strong constraints on the combined parameter space of mediator mass and dark matter mass are derived. With the complementary search results from collider experiments, a large range of parameter space can be excluded.

Energy shortages are a major challenge to the sustainable development of human society, and photocatalytic solar energy conversion is a potential way to alleviate energy problems. As a two-dimensional organic polymer semiconductor, carbon nitride is considered to be the most promising photocatalyst due to its stable properties, low cost, and suitable band structure. Unfortunately, pristine carbon nitride has low spectral utilization, easy recombination of electron holes, and insufficient hole oxidation ability. The S-scheme strategy has developed in recent years, providing a new perspective for effectively solving the above problems of carbon nitride. Therefore, this review summarizes the latest progress in enhancing the photocatalytic performance of carbon nitride via the S-scheme strategy, including the design principles, preparation methods, characterization techniques, and photocatalytic mechanisms of the carbon nitride-based S-scheme photocatalyst. In addition, the latest research progress of the S-scheme strategy based on carbon nitride in photocatalytic H2 evolution and CO2 reduction is also reviewed. Finally, some concluding remarks and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for exploring advanced nitride-based S-scheme photocatalysts are presented. This review brings the research of carbon nitride-based S-scheme strategy to the forefront and is expected to guide the development of the next-generation carbon nitride-based S-scheme photocatalysts for efficient energy conversion.

Cerebral ischemia and the subsequent cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury usually result in neuronal impairment with serious disabilities. Although neural stem cell (NSC) transplantation can help with functional recovery after stroke, due to the improper cellular milieu after brain injury, direct NSC transplantation will result low cell survival rates and differentiation efficiency into neurons. Here a conductive hybrid hydrogel based on gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) was created as a NSC niche for the treatment of cerebral I/R injury. GelMA/PEDOT:PSS hybrid hydrogel promoted the development of NSCs into neurons. GelMA/PEDOT:PSS hydrogel along with NSCs could enhance neuronal activity and minimize apoptosis when co-cultured with oxygen-glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R) neurons. Furthermore, after 7 days of implantation, GelMA/PEDOT:PSS/NSCs on the infarcted brain of rats subjected to reperfusion injury after middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) was verified to attenuate inflammatory responses. These findings show that the conductive GelMA/PEDOT:PSS hybrid hydrogel could regulate NSC development and act as promising cell niches for the treatment of cerebral I/R injury.

Improving spectral utilization and carrier separation efficiency is a key point in photocatalysis research. Herein, we prepare hollow g-C3N4 nanospheres by the template method and synthesize a g-C3N4@Cu0.5In0.5S core-shell S-scheme photothermal nanoreactor by a simple chemical deposition method. The unique hollow core-shell structure of g-C3N4@Cu0.5In0.5S is beneficial to expand the spectral absorption range and improving photon utilization. At the same time, the photogenerated carriers can be separated, driven by the internal electric field. In addition, g-C3N4@Cu0.5In0.5S also has a significantly enhanced photothermal effect, which promotes the photocatalytic reaction by increasing the temperature of the reactor. The benefit from the synergistic effect of light and heat, the H2 evolution rate of g-C3N4@Cu0.5In0.5S is as high as 2325.68 μmol h−1 g−1, and the degradation efficiency of oxytetracycline under visible light is 95.7%. The strategy of combining S-scheme heterojunction with photothermal effects provides a promising insight for the development of an efficient photocatalytic reaction.

Dressing materials with wet adhesive and antibacterial features are in high demand for the healing of infected wounds. Here, we report the development of an antibacterial peptide (KRWWKWWRRC)-modified collagen nanosheet (KCN) by a two-step spin-coating process. The two-dimensional nanosheet demonstrates promising mechanical strength of ~31 ​MPa at a thickness of 87 ​nm, which is comparable to human skin tissue. The KCN with high transparency and flexibility could firmly adhere to the complex surface of biological tissues in wet environments. In vitro cytotoxicity and antibacterial experiments showed that the KCN is biocompatible and has high antibacterial activity (over 99%). Moreover, a rat skin infection wound model demonstrated that the KCN showed rapid wound closure and low inflammation, and wound closure could be achieved on day 14 after surgery with good re-epithelialization. Our findings reveal a promising nanosheet-based strategy for treating bacteria-infected soft-tissue wounds.

Abstract Background Vasculogenic mimicry (VM) is a recently discovered angiogenetic process found in many malignant tumors, and is different from the traditional angiogenetic process involving vascular endothelium. It involves the formation of microvascular channels composed of tumor cells; therefore, VM is considered a new model for the formation of new blood vessels in aggressive tumors, and can provide blood supply for tumor growth. Many studies have pointed out that in recent years, some clinical treatments against angiogenesis have not been satisfactory possibly due to the activation of VM. Although the mechanisms underlying VM have not been fully elucidated, increasing research on the soil “microenvironment” for tumor growth suggests that the initial hypoxic environment in solid tumors is inseparable from VM. Main body In this review, we describe that the stemness and differentiation potential of cancer stem cells are enhanced under hypoxic microenvironments, through hypoxia-induced epithelial-endothelial transition (EET) and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling to form the specific mechanism of vasculogenic mimicry; we also summarized some of the current drugs targeting VM through these processes, suggesting a new reference for the clinical treatment of tumor angiogenesis. Conclusion Overall, the use of VM inhibitors in combination with conventional anti-angiogenesis treatments is a promising strategy for improving the effectiveness of targeted angiogenesis treatments; further, considering the importance of hypoxia in tumor invasion and metastasis, drugs targeting the hypoxia signaling pathway seem to achieve good results.

BackgroundSome studies have shown that arginine vasopressin (AVP) can significantly improve the social interaction disorder of autism, but the mechanism remains unclear.MethodsFemale Wistar rats were intraperitoneally injected with VPA or normal saline at embryonic day 12.5 to establish an autism model or normal control in their offspring. Male offspring prenatally exposed to VPA were randomly assigned to two groups: the VPA-induced autism model group and the AVP group. The rats in the AVP group were treated with intranasal AVP at postnatal day (PND) 21 and for 3 weeks. The VPA-induced autism model group was given the same dose of normal saline in the same way. Behavioral responses were evaluated in the open field and three-chambered social test apparatus; the expression levels of AVP in serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit, and the gene expression levels on the amygdala were measured by RNA-seq at PND42.ResultsIntranasal administration of AVP can significantly improve the social interaction disorder and elevate the levels of AVP in serum. Transcriptome sequencing results showed that 518 differently expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in the VPA-induced autism model group compared with the control in this study. Gene Ontology biological process enrichment analysis of DEGs showed that the VPA-induced autism model group had significant nervous system developmental impairments compared with the normal group, particularly in gliogenesis, glial cell differentiation, and oligodendrocyte differentiation. Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) enrichment analysis also showed that biological process of oligodendrocyte differentiation, axoneme assembly, and axon ensheathment were inhibited in the VPA-induced autism model group. Pathway enrichment analysis of DEGs between the control and VPA-induced autism model group showed that the PI3K/AKT and Wnt pathways were significantly dysregulated in the VPA-induced autism model group. Few DEGs were found when compared with the transcriptome between the VPA-induced autism model group and the AVP treatment group. GSEA enrichment analysis showed deficits in oligodendrocyte development and function were significantly improved after AVP treatment; the pathways were mainly enriched in the NOTCH, mitogen-activated protein kinase, and focal adhesion signaling pathways, but not in the PI3K/AKT and Wnt pathways. The expression patterns analysis also showed the same results.ConclusionAVP can significantly improve the social interaction disorder of VPA-induced autism model, and AVP may target behavioral symptoms in autism by modulating the vasopressin pathways, rather than primary disease mechanisms.

Abstract Immune checkpoint blockade targeting PD-1/PD-L1 has promising therapeutic efficacy in a variety of tumors, but resistance during treatment is a major issue. In this review, we describe the utility of PD-L1 expression levels, mutation burden, immune cell infiltration, and immune cell function for predicting the efficacy of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade therapy. Furthermore, we explore the mechanisms underlying immunotherapy resistance caused by PD-L1 expression on tumor cells, T cell dysfunction, and T cell exhaustion. Based on these mechanisms, we propose combination therapeutic strategies. We emphasize the importance of patient-specific treatment plans to reduce the economic burden and prolong the life of patients. The predictive indicators, resistance mechanisms, and combination therapies described in this review provide a basis for improved precision medicine.

Precise measurement of two-neutrino double beta decay (DBD) half-life is an important step for the searches of Majorana neutrinos with neutrinoless double beta decay. We report the measurement of DBD half-life of 136Xe using the PandaX-4T dual-phase Time Projection Chamber (TPC) with 3.7-tonne natural xenon and the first 94.9-day physics data release. The background model in the fiducial volume is well constrained in situ by events in the outer active region. With a 136Xe exposure of 15.5 kg-year, we establish the half-life as 2.27±0.03stat.±0.10syst.×1021 years. This is the first DBD half-life measurement with natural xenon and demonstrates the physics capability of a large-scale liquid xenon TPC in the field of rare event searches.

Abstract We present a detailed investigation on the effect of functional group modulation at the edges of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) on the fluorescence from the CQDs. The CQDs attached by N, S, and P elements are synthesized via pyrolysis of a mixture of citric acid and NH3H2O, H2SO4, and H3PO4, respectively. Thus, part of –COOH at the edges of CQDs can be converted into –C=O and functional groups such as –NH2, –SO2, –HSO3, and –H2PO4 can connect to the carbon bonds. We find that the formation of the N/S/P-CQDs can reduce the amount of –COOH that attaches to the edges of sp2-conjugated π-domains located at centers of these CQDs. This effect can result in the reduction of the non-radiative recombination for electronic transition in these CQDs. As a result, the quantum yield (QY) for fluorescence from the CQDs can be efficiently enhanced. We demonstrate experimentally that the QYs for N/S/P-CQDs can reach up to 18.7%, 29.7%, and 10.3%, respectively, in comparison to 9% for these without functional group modulation. This work can provide a practical experimental approach in improving the optical properties of fluorescent CQDs.

We present PandaX-II constraints on candidate WIMP-nucleon effective interactions involving the nucleon or WIMP spin, including, in addition to standard axial spin-dependent (SD) scattering, various couplings among vector and axial currents, magnetic and electric dipole moments, and tensor interactions. The data set corresponding to a total exposure of 54-ton-days is reanalyzed to determine constraints as a function of the WIMP mass and isospin coupling. We obtain WIMP-nucleon cross section bounds of 1.6×10−41 cm2 and 9.0×10−42 cm2 (90% c.l.) for neutron-only SD and tensor coupling, respectively, for a mass MWIMP∼40GeV/c2. The SD limits are the best currently available for MWIMP>40GeV/c2. We show that PandaX-II has reached a sensitivity sufficient to probe a variety of other candidate spin-dependent interactions at the weak scale. Objectives: The aim of the present study was to define the potential relationship of xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) Lys751Gln polymorphisms and the risk of leukemia.Methods: Comprehensive electronic search in Pubmed, Web of Science, EBSCO, the Cochrane Library and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) to find original articles about the association between XPD Lys751Gln polymorphisms and leukemia risk published before March 2017. Literature quality assessment was performed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Heterogeneity across studies was assessed by I2 statistics. Random- or fixed-effects models was used to calculate pooled odds ratios (ORs) in the presence or absence of heterogeneity, respectively. Sensitivity analysis was used to assess the influence of individual studies on the pooled estimate. Publication bias was investigated using funnel plots and Egger’s regression test. All data analyses were performed using Stata 14.0 and Revman 5.3.Results: Fourteen studies with a total of 7525 participants (2,757 patients; 4,768 controls) were included in this meta-analysis. We found that XPD Lys751Gln polymorphism significantly increased the risk of developing leukemia in both a dominant [Odds Ratio (OR)] = 1.21, 95%CI [1.10–1.35], P < 0.001) and heterozygote (OR = 1.22, 95%CI [1.09–1.36], P < 0.001) models. An allele model showed borderline significant increase in leukemia risk (OR = 1.13, 95%CI [1.00–1.27], P = 0.05). Subgroup analysis revealed a consistent association for some genetic models in Caucasian populations, adult or chronic groups, and in almost all models of childhood or acute groups.Conclusion: Our results overall indicate that XPD Lys751Gln polymorphism increases the risk of leukemia, especially in childhood and acute cases.
