A crescente busca por melhoria da qualidade dos artigos confeccionados destinados ao vestuário comum, profissional e de alta performance esportiva, força constantemente a pesquisa e desenvolvimento de novos materiais, tecidos, fibras e fios pelas indústrias têxteis. O objetivo do presente estudo é quantificar as propriedades térmicas e comportamentos de isolamento e transferência térmica dos tecidos de malha, em função da composição das matérias-primas e das características dimensionais das malhas, utilizando o equipamento SMTEX (Sistema de medição de calor e vapor em têxteis). Foram selecionados no mercado fios fabricados com as seguintes matérias-primas (100%): Algodão, Poliamida, Poliéster e Viscose, todos com duas especificações diferentes de tipos de fios. Foram produzidas em máquina circular de pequeno diâmetro, dezesseis amostras de malhas com diferentes gramaturas. Após a lavagem e secagem dos tecidos, para retirada de resíduos de óleo estabilização dimensional, foram realizados os ensaios físicos no equipamento SMTEX. Os resultados obtidos foram analisados com auxílio do software Minitab para indicação dos principais efeitos e características de influência. The objective of the present study is to quantify the thermal properties and insulation and thermal transfer behavior of knitted fabrics, as a function of the composition of the raw materials and the dimensional characteristics of the knits, using the SMTEX equipment (System for measuring heat and steam in textiles). Yarns manufactured with the following raw materials (100%) were selected on the market: Cotton, Polyamide, Polyester and Viscose, all with two different specifications of yarn types. Sixteen types of samples were produced in a small diameter circular machine, samples with different weights. After washing and drying the fabrics to remove oil residues and acquire dimensional stabilization, were tested in the SMTEX equipment. The results obtained were analyzed with the help of Minitab software to indicate the main effects and characteristics of influence. Finally, a chart table was created to compare the different functionalities and characteristics between the equipment used and those available on the market

This work demonstrates the development and construction of a system composed of various devices dedicated to measurement and control of temperature and humidity able to simulate the human body's behavior regarding its latent heat, sweating, influence on exposure to wind and cold controlled. The system also comprises of mobile sensors able to measure the temperature and humidity between tissue layers disposed on the main assembly, simulating the formation of microclimate between the skin and worn textile article. The structure built at the end of the work has modular and optional interconnection with external datalog systems, expanding the future research and development.
