1. Distributed Applications in Gamification of the Learning Process

Abstract: Driven by the fact that many of us experienced softer or not-so-soft lockdown, the intention of a couple of instructors at our university was to develop a collaborative tool that could help in online delivery and gamification on two courses that are delivered in the Business and IT curriculums we are offering to our students. That tool could be described as a decentralized web application that simulates Internet marketing principles and helps in gamification of the learning process for our students. We planned our web application for Internet marketing simulation as the gamification of the learning process, which is one of the basics for active learning for Internet Marketing course for International Business students, to gain new class activities by online simulation competing in the field of Internet marketing principles; and for IT students in developing the Web application and also on adopting Blockchain technologies for the distributed reports which need to have a consensus of all teams included in the simulation. Abstract: Blockchain technology provides a private, secure, transparent decentralized exchange of data. Also, blockchain is not limited to a particular area, but it has a wide range of applications and can be integrated into a variety of Internet interactive systems. For example, the Internet of Things (IoT), supply chain tracking, Electronic Health Records (EHR), digital forensics, identity management, trustless payments, and other key business elements will all benefit from its implementation. Next layer solutions such as Ethereum 2.0, Polkadot, Cardano, and other Web 3.0 technologies provide developers versatility. Moreover, these platforms utilize smart contracts which are similar to standard, traditionalized software during development but offer key utilities to end-users such as online wallets, secure data with transparent rules. Blockchain is receiving a lot of attention in educational technology (EduTech) as it aims to achieve a more transparent and multipurpose educational system. In addition to smart contract technology which defines how data should be registered, gathered and processed, blockchain can be used as an IoT intermediary for mobile usage. Therefore, we implemented an educational learning platform powered by blockchain technology to examine feasibility in industry and academic environment. In essence, this is a web application which is adapted to mobile platform and connected to blockchain for crucial data exchanges. Abstract: Nowadays, huge amounts of data are generated every second, and a quantity of that data can be defined as sensitive. Blockchain technology has private, secure, transparent and decentralized exchange of data as native. It is adaptable and can be used in a wide range of Internet-based interactive systems in academic and industrial settings. The essential part of programmable distributed ledgers such as Ethereum, Polkadot, Cardano and other Web 3.0 technologies are smart contracts. Smart contracts are programs executed on the global blockchain, the code is public as well as all of the data managed within the transactions, thus creating a system that is reliable and cannot be cheated if designed properly. Abstract: U posljednja dva desetljeća znatno je porasla upotreba neinvazivne mehaničke ventilacije (NIV) kao učinkovite metode zbrinjavanja akutne i kronične respiracijske insufi cijencije. U bolesnika s kroničnom respiracijskom insufi cijencijom NIV se može primijeniti u kućnim uvjetima. Najčešće bolesti koje dovode do razvoja kronične respiracijske insufi cijencije jesu: kronična opstruktivna plućna bolest, sindrom hipoventilacije u pretilih, restriktivne plućne bolesti i neuromuskularne bolesti. Primjena NIV-a poboljšava vrijednosti dišnih plinova, simptome, kvalitetu života i produžuje životni vijek bolesnika s kroničnom respiracijskom insufi cijencijom. Danas se NIV uglavnom provodi primjenom pozitivnog tlaka zraka na dišne putove bolesnika, a dvorazinska tlačna potpora najčešći je način ventilacije. Izbor adekvatnog sučelja osnova je uspješne primjene NIV-a. Kućni NIV može se indicirati i započeti u specijaliziranim centrima. Liječnik je odgovoran za postavljanje indikacija, izbor ventilatora, načina i parametara ventilacije. Ciljevi ovih smjernica jesu: pružanje informacija o tehničkim aspektima kućnog NIV-a kliničarima i određivanje indikacija, kontraindikacija te preporu čenih postavka ventilacije za svaku skupinu bolesti

Abstract: The Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) proposed six Action Groups. After almost three years of activity, many achievements have been obtained through commitments or collaborative work of the Action Groups. However, they have often worked in silos and, consequently, synergies between Action Groups have been proposed to strengthen the triple win of the EIP on AHA. The paper presents the methodology and current status of the Task Force on EIP on AHA synergies. Synergies are in line with the Action Groups’ new Renovated Action Plan (2016-2018) to ensure that their future objectives are coherent and fully connected. The outcomes and impact of synergies are using the Monitoring and Assessment Framework for the EIP on AHA (MAFEIP). Eight proposals for synergies have been approved by the Task Force: Five cross-cutting synergies which can be used for all current and future synergies as they consider overarching domains (appropriate polypharmacy, citizen empowerment, teaching and coaching on AHA, deployment of synergies to EU regions, Responsible Research and Innovation), and three cross-cutting synergies focussing on current Action Group activities (falls, frailty, integrated care and chronic respiratory diseases). © 2017, Serdi and Springer-Verlag France.

Abstract: The Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) proposed six Action Groups. After almost three years of activity, many achievements have been obtained through commitments or collaborative work of the Action Groups. However, they have often worked in silos and, consequently, synergies between Action Groups have been proposed to strengthen the triple win of the EIP on AHA. The paper presents the methodology and current status of the Task Force on EIP on AHA synergies. After almost three years of activity, many achievements have been obtained through commitments or collaborative work of the Action Groups. However, they have often worked in silos and, consequently, synergies between Action Groups have been proposed to strengthen the triple win of the EIP on AHA. The paper presents the methodology and current status of the Task Force on EIP on AHA synergies. Synergies are in line with the Action Groups’ new Renovated Action Plan (2016-2018) to ensure that their future objectives are coherent and fully connected. The outcomes and impact of synergies are using the Monitoring and Assessment Framework for the EIP on AHA (MAFEIP). Eight proposals for synergies have been approved by the Task Force: Five cross-cutting synergies which can be used for all current and future synergies as they consider overarching domains (appropriate polypharmacy, citizen empowerment, teaching and coaching on AHA, deployment of synergies to EU regions, Responsible Research and Innovation), and three cross-cutting synergies focussing on current Action Group activities (falls, frailty, integrated care and chronic respiratory diseases).

Abstract: The Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) proposed six Action Groups. Abstract: The Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) proposed six Action Groups. After almost three years of activity, many achievements have been obtained through commitments or collaborative work of the Action Groups. However, they have often worked in silos and, consequently, synergies between Action Groups have been proposed to strengthen the triple win of the EIP on AHA. The paper presents the methodology and current status of the Task Force on EIP on AHA synergies. Synergies are in line with the Action Groups' new Renovated Action Plan (2016-2018) to ensure that their future objectives are coherent and fully connected. The outcomes and impact of synergies are using the Monitoring and Assessment Framework for the EIP on AHA (MAFEIP). Eight proposals for synergies have been approved by the Task Force: Five cross-cutting synergies which can be used for all current and future synergies as they consider overarching domains (appropriate polypharmacy, citizen empowerment, teaching and coaching on AHA, deployment of synergies to EU regions, Responsible Research and Innovation), and three cross-cutting synergies focussing on current Action Group activities (falls, frailty, integrated care and chronic respiratory diseases).

Abstract: The Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) proposed six Action Groups. After almost three years of activity, many achievements have been obtained through commitments or collaborative work of the Action Groups. However, they have often worked in silos and, consequently, synergies between Action Groups have been proposed to strengthen the triple win of the EIP on AHA. The paper presents the methodology and current status of the Task Force on EIP on AHA synergies. Synergies are in line with the Action Groups’ new Renovated Action Plan (2016-2018) to ensure that their future objectives are coherent and fully connected. The outcomes and impact of synergies are using the Monitoring and Assessment Framework for the EIP on AHA (MAFEIP). Eight proposals for synergies have been approved by the Task Force: Five cross-cutting synergies which can be used for all current and future synergies as they consider overarching domains (appropriate polypharmacy, citizen empowerment, teaching and coaching on AHA, deployment of synergies to EU regions, Responsible Research and Innovation), and three cross-cutting synergies focussing on current Action Group activities (falls, frailty, integrated care and chronic respiratory diseases).

Abstract: The Strategic Implementation Plan of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) proposed six Action Groups. After almost three years of activity, many achievements have been obtained through commitments or collaborative work of the Action Groups. However, they have often worked in silos and, consequently, synergies between Action Groups have been proposed to strengthen the triple win of the EIP on AHA. The paper presents the methodology and current status of the Task Force on EIP on AHA synergies. Synergies are in line with the Action Groups' new Renovated Action Plan (2016-2018) to ensure that their future objectives are coherent and fully connected. The outcomes and impact of synergies are using the Monitoring and Assessment Framework for the EIP on AHA (MAFEIP). Eight proposals for synergies have been approved by the Task Force: Five cross-cutting synergies which can be used for all current and future synergies as they consider overarching domains (appropriate polypharmacy, citizen empowerment, teaching and coaching on AHA, deployment of synergies to EU regions, Responsible Research and Innovation), and three cross-cutting synergies focussing on current Action Group activities (falls, frailty, integrated care and chronic respiratory diseases).

Abstract: Cloud computing is becoming a mainstream technology in enterprise environment, promising more efficient use of hardware resources through virtualization, elastic computing facilities and secure management of user applications. Various cloud computing architectures are emerging and several commercial and open source products on the market advertise a rich feature-set. While commercial vendors try to give potential users the (not necessarily unbiased) tools to reason on the comparative advantages of their product, the open source community trusts users to make a well-informed selection on their own. In this paper we take a look at the open source cloud solutions and discuss the criteria that can be used to evaluate the stability, performance and features of open source clouds, and compare some available solutions. The evaluation criteria focus on three main components of a cloud solution – the storage layer, the virtualization layer, and the management layer. In addition, we explain the motivation for application of open source cloud solutions from an enterprise perspective, and discuss the potential benefits of these solutions for private cloud computing environments.

Abstract: This paper proposes a novel approach to consumer application development using executable Application Graph Model (AGM). Based on Object- Process Methodology (OPM), AGM has expressive nature to model a generic, data- centric application based on desired domain model. AGM is interpretative, not generative, and also reflective, which enables runtime modeling and production on the same execution environment. AGM contains every aspect of data- centric application: data persistence, business logic, user interface and actors in interaction with application, both human and non-human. Finally, an executing architecture is given supporting multi- platform execution across mobile and desktop devices.

Abstract: The aim of this paper was to determine certain regularities in caries incidence in children in primary and permanent dentition in respect of clinical and non-clinical variables that can be collected in everyday dental practice. This way it could be easier for the operator to adjust individual preventive therapy of patients. The study was conducted on 301 subjects, aged 3-6 (74 subjects) and 11-14 (227 subjects) inhabitants of Petrinja and Topusko, postwar rural and subrural areas in Central Croatia. Using an oral hygiene questionnaire, habits, diet and use of fluoride were assessed. The clinical finding comprised the dental status, amount of stimulated saliva, oral hygiene index and the presence of orthodontic anomaly. Children showed very high values of the dmf-t/DMF-T (decayed, missing, filled index) (7.7/6.7), dmf-s/DMF-S (16.5/11.8), and significant index of caries (SiC = 10.89). The study confirmed correlation between the OHI (oral hygiene index) and dmf-t/DMF-T and dmf-s/DMF-S index, and the influence of the regularity of dental check-ups and frequency of tooth brushing on OHI. Furthermore, the children that started practicing oral hygiene later, brush their teeth irregularly, and visit dentists only when having pain. It can be concluded that Croatia is still very far from achieving the goals set by WHO concerning oral health improvement.

Abstract: Simulations of eight different regional climate models (RCMs) have been performed for the period September 1997-September 1998, which coincides with the Surface Heat Budget of the Arctic Ocean (SHEBA) project period. Each of the models employed approximately the same domain covering the western Arctic, the same horizontal resolution of 50 km, and the same boundary forcing. The models differ in their vertical resolution as well as in the treatments of dynamics and physical parameterizations. Both the common features and differences of the simulated spatiotemporal patterns of geopotential, temperature, cloud cover, and long-/shortwave downward radiation between the individual model simulations are investigated. With this work, we quantify the scatter among the models and therefore the magnitude of disagreement and unreliability of current Arctic RCM simulations. Even with the relatively constrained experimental design we notice a considerable scatter among the different RCMs. We found the largest across-model scatter in the 2 m temperature over land, in the surface radiation fluxes, and in the cloud cover which implies a reduced confidence level for these variables.

Abstract: In formal education, a majority of e-learning courses is still conducted in a learning management system (LMS). Teachers and authors of educational resources can make use of context-aware recommender systems, which would recommend relevant learning objects to be included in the course. Context data can be obtained, among other sources, from an existing learning environment. This paper describes a two-phase survey of four LMSs - Chamilo, Claroline, Ilias and Moodle - and their characteristics suitable for creating an LMS part of a context model, which would be relevant to implement in recommender systems for this purpose. A sample set of use cases is given, which describes how teachers and content authors could use the system. Based on the survey results, a set of context model dimensions is proposed.
