Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) accounts for the majority of cancer deaths worldwide, with a high incidence rate and mortality. It is highly important to develop biomarker model to accurately predict the prognosis.RNA-Seq data and clinical follow-up data of LUAD were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Hypoxia-related gene sets were collected from the Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) website. A gene signature model was established using the Limma package in the R software, univariate and multivariate survival analyses, and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithms.Two hypoxia subtypes (C1 and C2) were classified according to the expressions of 55 prognostic hypoxic-related genes. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between two hypoxia subtypes and immune group were analyzed. Then, 390 DEGs related to hypoxic immune microenvironment were filtered. According to hypoxia type and immune type, the samples were classified into hypoxia-highimmune-low group, hypoxia-lowimmune-high group. Based on these differentially expressed genes (DEGs), a 5-genes signature model, which showed a stable prediction performance on datasets of different platforms and immunotherapy datasets, was finally developed. Meanwhile, it demonstrated a better performance compared with other existing models. The AUC of the 5-gene signature was high in both the training dataset and 4 independent validation datasets and was confirmed as a clinical feature-independent prognostic model.This study developed a hypoxic immune microenvironment associated gene-based model for prognostic prediction of LUAD, providing clinicians with a reliable prognostic assessment tool and facilitating clinical treatment decision-making.

In situ synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on Ti powder decorated with Ni catalyst enabled us to obtain a high-quality CNTs/Ti composite powder via fluidized bed chemical vapor deposition (FBCVD) process. The composite powder was characterized by a combination of high structural integrity and uniform dispersion of CNTs, which is not obtained by traditional ball-milling route. These advantages enabled the retention of CNTs in the near-fully dense titanium matrix composite (TMC), together with the uniform dispersion of TiC particles. The CNTs and TiC particles coordinated with each other and contributed to a synergistic effect involving load transfer from the matrix to CNTs and dispersion strengthening of TiC particles. The nanotube–particle-reinforced TMC exhibited superior mechanical properties in comparison to single-phase-reinforced TMCs. The catalytic behavior of Ni, controllable synthesis of CNTs, the retention behavior of CNTs, and the formation mechanism of TiC particles during the sintering process are discussed in detail.

Sr 3 Co 2 Fe 24 O 41 (Sr 3 Co 2 Z) hexaferrite has potential applications in spintronics and multiferroics. To synthesize a single-phase Sr 3 Co 2 Z is very difficult now while the corresponding reaction process lacks investigating. In this work, the reaction mechanism to synthesize Z/W/M-type strontium hexaferrite powders was studied. Results show that the SrFe 12 O 19 (SrM) could react with CoFe 2 O 4 to form SrCo 2 Fe 16 O 27 (SrCo 2 W) in the range 750 o C T o C. The SrCo 2 Fe 16 O 27 (SrCo 2 W) transforms into Sr 3 Co 2 Z in the range 1150 o C T 1250 o C.

Tavorite-structured lithium-metal-fluorophosphates for Li + transition have been recognized as a good alternative to olivine-type cathodes for lithium-ion batteries. They show an exceptional ionic conductivity, excellent thermal stability and capacity retention. In this work, LiFePO 4 F with high purity is successfully synthesized by a two-step solid-state route. Rietveld refinement shows that open pathways for 3D ion transport exist in LiFePO 4 F and its discharged state (Li 2 FePO 4 F). Cyclic voltammetry data exhibit a clear indication of the Fe 3+/2+ redox couple that involves a two-phase transition. Galvanostatic discharge-charge cycling was examined at the rates 0.1 - 5 C up to 1000 cycles. The voltage plateaus on 2.71 / 2.86 V indicate a low electrode polarization of 0.15 V. This work attained the largest initial discharge capacity at the highest rate (1 C) reported to date, and almost the same capacity retention at a tenfold higher rate (1 C) than that (0.1 C) within the maximum cycles of 100 reported to date.

To explore the clinical value of off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting by small incision at the left chest, and develop a better surgical regimen for coronary heart disease patients.201 coronary heart disease patients who need coronary artery bypass grafting were required and randomly divided into 2 groups including a control group and an observation group. There were 107 cases in the control group who received coronary bypass grafting by extracorporeal circulation; there were 103 cases in the observation group who received off-pump coronary bypass grafting by small incision at the left chest. The duration of the mechanism ventilation, length of stay in ICU, hospitalization time, postoperative drainage volume, and the occurrence rate of complications were recorded and compared.The duration of mechanism ventilation, length of stay in ICU, hospitalization time and postoperative drainage volume in the control group were (19.21 ± 1.33) hours, (5.08 ± 0.57) days, (21.20 ± 2.34) days and (997.68 ± 96.35) mL, which were (7.73 ± 0.74) hours, (2.83 ± 0.16) days, (15.67 ± 1.18) days and (901.53 ± 89.32) mL in the observation group respectively, with statistical difference between the two groups (p0.05). The occurrence rates of renal insufficiency and arrhythmia were both 6.54% and 0.97% in the control group and the observation group, respectively. The occurrence rates of postoperative renal insufficiency and arrhythmia in the observation group were both significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistical significance analysis (p0.05). Postoperative low cardiac output, second thoracotomy, cerebrovascular disease, pulmonary infection, perioperative cardiac infarction and mortality did not display a significant difference between the two groups (p0.05).Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting by small incision at the left chest is a surgical method with less injury and fast recovery, which can be used as the preferred therapeutical method for the coronary heart disease patients who need coronary artery bypass grafting.

Bromfenac, a promising ophthalmic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, has been used once daily for postoperative ocular inflammation and pain with satisfying efficacy, however, no integrated conclusion on its safety in clinical settings has been drawn. The purpose of this pooled analysis is to investigate the safety and efficacy of once daily bromfenac for ocular inflammation and pain among patients after cataract extraction (CE). MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Scopus, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) were searched from inception to September 2014. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that studied topical bromfenac after CE were analyzed. Included studies were systemically reviewed, and effects were summarized using odds ratio (OR) with suitable effect model. Four RCTs involving 2294 participants were included. Southern Corn Leaf Blight (SCLB) is an important disease in warm-temperate and tropical corn-producing areas throughout the world. We applied a combination of the amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) technique and bulked segregant analysis (BSA) to a large F2 population in order to identify molecular markers linked to the rhm gene for resistance to SCLB. One co-dominant AFLP marker, p7m36, was mapped to a position 1.0 cM from rhm, and we converted this marker to an STS (sequence-tagged site) marker. Combined with the previously identified agrP144, this new marker may be useful for map-based cloning of the rhm gene and marker-assisted selection for rhm.

The monohelical mononuclear title complex, (6,6''''-dimethyl-2,2':6',2':6,2':6',2-quinquepyridine-κ 5 N)-bis(nitrato)cobalt(II), [Co(NO 3 ) 2 (C 27 H 21 N 5 )], was obtained by the reaction of the quinquepyridine ligand (dmqpy) with hydrated cobalt nitrate, Co(NO 3 ) 2 (H 2 O) 4 . In the complex, the coordination geometry of the Co II atom is a distorted pentagonal bipyramid, with the dmqpy ligand twisted about the equatorial plane and the two NO 3 - ions occupying the apical positions.
