The follow-up timing observations were carried out for 24 pulsars discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST Survey. We report their phase-connected timing ephemeris, polarization pulse profiles, and Faraday rotation measurements. With their spin periods spanning from 2.995 ms to 4.34 s, their period derivatives were determined to spread between 7.996(8) × 10−21 and 9.83(3) × 10−15 s s−1, which imply that they have characteristic ages from 1.97 × 106 to 5.93 × 109 yr. It is inferred that PSRs J0211+4235 and J0518+2431 are beyond the ‘traditional death line’. PSR J0211+4235 is beyond the ‘death valley’. The death line model of Zhang et al. also cannot explain the radio presence of PSR J0211+4235. This suggests that radiation theory needs to be improved. Besides, ten of the 22 canonical pulsars show nulling phenomena. Moreover, PSR J1617+1123 exhibits variation of emission and J0540+4542 shows subpulse drifting. The DM of five pulsars is larger than the estimated by the YMW16 electron density model, which could suggest that electron density models need updates for higher Galactic latitude regions. PSRs J0447+2447 and J1928−0548 are isolated millisecond pulsars. With their flux densities spanning from 5(1)–553(106) μJy, some of these new pulsars found by FAST are distant, dim, and low-$\dot{E}$ ones and are suitable for testing pulsar emission theories.

We report the phase-connected timing ephemeris, polarization pulse profiles, Faraday rotation measurements, and Rotating-Vector-Model (RVM) fitting results of 12 millisecond pulsars (MSPs) discovered with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) in the Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST survey (CRAFTS). The timing campaigns were carried out with FAST and Arecibo over 3 yr. 11 of the 12 pulsars are in neutron star–white dwarf binary systems, with orbital periods between 2.4 and 100 d. 10 of them have spin periods, companion masses, and orbital eccentricities that are consistent with the theoretical expectations for MSP–Helium white dwarf (He WD) systems. The last binary pulsar (PSR J1912−0952) has a significantly smaller spin frequency and a smaller companion mass, the latter could be caused by a low orbital inclination for the system. Its orbital period of 29 d is well within the range of orbital periods where some MSP–He WD systems have shown anomalous eccentricities, however, the eccentricity of PSR J1912−0952 is typical of what one finds for the remaining MSP–He WD systems.

Higher intensity of strong-coupling stimulated Brillouin scattering (SC-SBS) amplification is achieved by supplementary Raman amplification. In the new scheme, a Raman pump laser first amplifies the seed pulse in the homogeneous plasma, then a SC-SBS pump laser continues the amplification in the inhomogeneous plasma in order to suppress the spontaneous instability of pump lasers. The intensity of seed laser gets higher and the duration of seed laser gets shorter than that in the pure SC-SBS scheme with the same incident energy, while the energy conversion effciency is not significantly reduced. We also found that the SC-SBS amplification is seeded by the \pi pulse of Raman amplification. The results obtained from envelope coupling equations, Vlasov simulations and two-dimensional particle-in-cell(PIC) simulations agree with each other. This scheme is a simple and effective way to improve the SC-SBS amplification and is easy to implement in experiments.

One step facile synthesis of micro CuO crystals is carried out by hydrothermal method. The porous lithium foil/Li-graphite is used as the anode for CuO-Li ion full battery. The micro CuO crystals are characterized by scanning electron micro porousscopy, X-ray powder diffractometer, Fourier Transform infrared spectrometer, thermogravimeter and differential scanning calorimeter. The battery with porous lithium foil/graphite anode is tested by the galvanostatic current charge-discharge technology at higher current densities of 0.25～0.5 mA/cm2. The porous lithium foil-graphite anode can effectively improve the discharge capacity of the CuO crystal battery.

We theoretically and numerically study the merger phenomenon of the ion-phase vortex structure in hydrogen plasma. The results indicate that the merging of vortex structures during the nonlinear evolution of ion-acoustic waves (IAW) is mainly due to two-ion decay (TID) instability. When the daughter IAWs of the TID grow to be comparable to the fundamental mode, vortex merging will occur. Furthermore, the vortex merging can abruptly convert the significant energy of the fundamental mode into subharmonic energy, resulting in saturation for the TID of the fundamental mode. After several vortex-merging processes, the system eventually evolves into a turbulent state. In particular, the TID growth rate has been improved by considering two additional second-order coupling terms in this paper, which agree much better with the simulation results. Finally, the importance of the electron kinetic effects in the TID process is also presented by comparing hybrid-Vlasov and full-Vlasov simulations.

This study proposes a novel method to mitigate stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) using multicolor alternating-polarization bundle light. The bundle light combines multiwavelength, spike trains of uneven duration and delay for a single beam to multicolor alternating polarization for bundle beams. SBS suppression is verified using a three-dimensional large-scale laser plasma code. The numerical results show that the SBS reflectivity can be decreased by nearly two orders in low density plasma. The proposed method can extend the repetition time of a single beam from several picoseconds to tens of picoseconds. Moreover, it has potential applications in inertial confinement fusion research.

SnS2 nanoparticles are synthesized by hydrothermal method from thioacetamide and stannic chloride, and the as-prepared SnS2 nanoparticles are characterized by X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, energy dispersive spectrometer and AC impedance spectrum technology. Electrochemical reduction of lemon yellow at nano SnS2-modied glassy carbon electrode is investigated, and the results indicating that the SnS2 nanoparticles have a certain catalytic effect on lemon yellow, and the reduction mechanism and detection of lemon yellow are also discussed.

Introduction Necrotising fasciitis with sepsis is a life threatening disease. The aim of this study was to analyse the association between international normalised ratio (INR) and mortality in sepsis patients with necrotising fasciitis. Methods A retrospective review was undertaken of 106 patients suffering from necrotising fasciitis with sepsis between November 2007 and December 2016. Data on comorbidities, clinical manifestations, laboratory findings, causative microbiological organisms, APACHE II (Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II) score and outcomes were extracted. Logistic regression was carried out to examine the factors affecting mortality. Results Forty patients (37.7%) died. There was no significant difference in the white blood count (WBC) for the survivor and non-survivor groups. Non-survivors had a lower mean oxygenation index (OI) (288.7mmHg vs 329.4mmHg, p=0.032) and platelet count (PC) (139.5 vs 214.8 x 109/l, p=0.028), and a higher mean INR (1.9 vs 1.3, p=0.000), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) (54.6 vs 44.2 seconds, p=0.005) and serum creatinine (2.3mg/dl vs 1.4mg/dl, p=0.007). Mortality in patients with INR >1.5 was significantly higher than in those with INR 1.5 (odds ratio: 5.600, 95% confidence interval: 1.415–22.166, p=0.014). Conclusions INR is a significant independent predictor of mortality in sepsis patients diagnosed with necrotising fasciitis.

In this work, the explicit formulations of the Grad's distribution function for the 45 moments (G45)-based gas kinetic scheme (GKS) are presented. Similar to the G13 function-based gas kinetic scheme (G13-GKS), G45-GKS simulates flows from the continuum regime to the rarefied regime by solving the macroscopic governing equations based on the conservation laws, which are widely used in conventional Navier-Stokes solver. These macroscopic governing equations are discretized by the finite volume method, where the numerical fluxes are evaluated by the local solution to the Boltzmann equation. The initial distribution function is reconstructed by the G45 distribution function, which is a higher order truncation of the Hermite expansion of distribution function compared with the G13 distribution function. Such high order truncation of Hermite expansion helps the present solver to achieve a better accuracy than G13-GKS. Moreover, the reconstruction of distribution function makes the development of explicit formulations of numerical fluxes feasible, and the evolution of the distribution function, which is the main reason why the discrete velocity method is expensive, is avoided. Several numerical experiments are performed to examine the accuracy of G45-GKS. Results show that the accuracy of the present solver for almost all flow problems is much better than G13-GKS. Moreover, some typical rarefied effects, such as the direction of heat flux without temperature gradients and thermal creep flow, can be well captured by the present solver.

In one-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations of a plasma irradiated by linearly polarized lasers from both sides of boundaries, it is found that there is an appreciable growth of the electromagnetic field in cavitons in the transverse direction perpendicular to the direction of polarization, which indicates the polarization conversion of the electromagnetic field in cavitons. This paper demonstrates the mechanism of this phenomenon based on parametric resonance induced by ponderomotive force with twice the frequency of the electromagnetic radiation in the caviton. We develop a theoretical model and verify it with simulation results. This phenomenon contributes to the heating and acceleration of particles and traps more EM energy in cavitons.

Theory of absolute stimulated Brillouin side scattering in an inhomogeneous flowing plasma is presented and verified numerically. The linearized coupling equations are transformed into a Schrödinger equation in k space and solved as an eigenvalue problem. Analytic threshold, growth rate, and scattering geometry are obtained for the pump laser with arbitrary incidence angle. Numerical solutions of the coupling equations show good agreements between the theoretical and numerical absolute thresholds when ion-acoustic wave damping is not too large, and thus an old but famous threshold in [Phys. Fluids 17, 1211 (1974)PFLDAS0031-917110.1063/1.1694867] is corrected. It also indicates that the theoretical analysis is not accurate for strong dampings, since it will overestimate the absolute threshold. Possibility of finding such instability in the current experiments is also discussed.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical and pathologic characteristics, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and survival of prostatic stromal tumor of uncertain malignant potential. METHODS: Overall 14 patients with prostatic stromal tumor of uncertain malignant potential were treated from October 2008 to April 2020, the patient age ranged from 27 to 78 years (mean 54 years). The disease duration was 1 to 180 months (mean duration of 46 months). The clinical manifestations mainly included urinary obstructive symptoms and urethral irritating symptoms. The tumors were located in the peripheral zone or the transition zone. Digital rectum examination indicated prostatic tumor. Serum prostatic specific antigen level was always normal or elevated. Transrectal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging indicated prostatic tumor. Magnetic resonance imaging in showed large, round, well-defined masses, which were diffusely heterogeneous signal on T2 weighted imaging. Following the administration of intravenous contrast medium, the lesion had diffuse and heterogeneous enhancement. RESULTS: In the study, 3 cases underwent prostate biopsy, 2 cases underwent transurethral resection of the prostate, 9 cases underwent radical excision or transurethral resection of the prostate with definite diagnosis of pathologic features. Under the light microscope, the interstitial cells of stromal tumor of uncertain malignant potential were overgrowth and fusiform cells showed some degree of pleomorphism, nuclei with few mitotic figures, and necrosis was not often seen. Immunohistochemical staining showed that prostate specific antigen was negative, while vimentin was positive in the tumor tissue, CD34, progesterone receptor and smooth muscle actin were positive in the majority, and Ki67 positive index was 1%-20% (mean 6%). Twelve cases were followed-up, and the time of survival varied from 10 to 96 months (mean 65 months), two cases were lost to the follow-up, one case died of disease at the end of 10 months, nine cases were free of disease recurrence after surgery, two cases underwent more transurethral resection of the prostate due to local recurrence. CONCLUSION: STUMP is a very rare tumor of the specialized prostatic stroma with an unpredictable clinical behavior. The clinical manifestations, transrectal ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging are valuable for the diagnosis of prostatic stromal tumor of uncertain malignant potential. Its definite diagnosis depends on pathological examination. Up to now, early surgery and combined therapy are effective treatments for prostatic stromal tumor of uncertain malignant potential.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) related signs and symptoms are frequently found in adolescent and adult orthodontic patients. TMJ health has long been considered important in orthodontic treatment for many decades, and routine screening and management of TMJ problems should be emphasized in orthodontic population. To illustrate the role of FOXF2 in the aggravation of the progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by targeting long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) H19 to down-regulate the gene of phosphate and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN).The relative levels of FOXF2 and H19 in NSCLC tissues and adjacent normal tissues were detected by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The correlation between the expression levels of FOXF2 and H19 was analyzed. Kaplan-Meier curves were depicted for uncovering the prognostic value of FOXF2 in NSCLC patients. The proliferative and migratory abilities of A549 cells influenced by FOXF2 were also assessed. The interaction between FOXF2 and H19 was evaluated through chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay and Western blot, so did the association between H19 and PTEN. Finally, rescue experiments were conducted to explore the role of FOXF2/H19/PTEN axis in regulating the viability and migration of A549 cells.FOXF2 and H19 were upregulated in NSCLC and a positive correlation was observed between the two genes. High level of FOXF2 indicated a worse prognosis in NSCLC patients. The knockdown of FOXF2 attenuated the proliferative and migratory abilities of A549 cells. FOXF2 could bind to the promoter region of H19 and accelerated its transcription. Moreover, H19 could recruit EZH2 to bind to PTEN. The overexpression of H19 could reverse the regulatory effects of FOXF2 on the viability and migration of A549 cells.FOXF2 was upregulated in NSCLC. It accelerated the proliferative and migratory abilities of the NSCLC cells by targeting H19 to downregulate PTEN, thus aggravating the progression of NSCLC.

Doping of cations in A2B2O7-type pyrochlores, either on A or B site, can modify the physical properties of compounds significantly. In this work, the structural, thermo-mechanical and electronic properties of Nd-doped Gd2Zr2O7 pyrochlores (Gd2−yNdyZr2O7 and Gd2Zr2−yNdyO7) have been investigated by density functional theory calculations. It is found that the Nd incorporation into Gd-site leads to the formation of Gd2Zr2O7-Nd2Zr2O7 solid solutions, which remain the pyrochlore-type structures, whereas the introduction of Nd into Zr-site induces a pyrochlore-to-defect fluorite structural transition. Further calculations show that Nd substitution for Gd-site has a minor effect on the thermal–mechanical and electronic properties of Gd2Zr2O7. However, incorporation of Nd into Zr-site results in smaller Young’s modulus, better ductility, stronger elastic anisotropy and lower Debye temperature than pure Gd2Zr2O7. In addition, the incorporation of Nd into Zr-site results in an increasing number of electrons locating at the Fermi level with the increasing concentration of substitutional Nd atoms, which eventually leads to an insulating-to-metallic transition. This study suggests that incorporation of Nd into Zr-site can be an alternative way to tune the mechanical, electronic, and thermal properties of Gd2Zr2O7.

Bismuth ferrite BiFeO3 (BFO) is an important ferroelectric material for thin-film optoelectronic sensing and potential photovoltaic applications. Its relatively large band gap, however, limits the conversion efficiency of BFO absorber-based PV devices. In this study, based on density functional theory calculations we demonstrate that with well-designed Fe-site elemental substitution, tetragonal BFO can exhibit a much lower fundamental band gap than that of conventional rhombohedral BFO without forming in-gap electronic states and unravelling the underlying mechanisms. Cation atomic size, electronegativity, and crystallographic symmetry are evidenced as critical parameters to tailor the metal 3d–oxygen 2p orbital interactions and thus intrinsically modify the electronic structure, particularly, the shape and character of the valence and conduction band edges. With the reduced band gap, improved mobility, and uncompromised ferroelectric and magnetic ground states, the present results provide a new strategy of designing high symmetry BFO for efficient optoelectronic applications.

NAC is one of the most abundant plant-specific groups of transcription factors, which play important roles in plant growth and development regulation, as well as in biotic and abiotic stress responses. In the present study, a stress-responsive NAC gene, AhNAC4, was isolated from a cDNA library of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) immature seeds, and characterized for its role in drought tolerance. AhNAC4 shared high amino acid similarity with NAC proteins belonging to the ATAF subfamily. The expression analysis indicated that AhNAC4 was highly induced by drought, salinity and ABA treatments. Transient expression analysis showed the AhNAC4-GFP fusion protein was exclusively localized in the nucleus of onion epidermal cells. Transactivation assays in yeast cells demonstrated that AhNAC4 functioned as a transcription activator and its C-terminus contained the activation domain. Overexpression of AhNAC4 confers enhanced drought tolerance in transgenic tobacco plants. The improved drought tolerance was associated with more stomatal closure and higher water use efficiency. Collectively, our results indicated that AhNAC4 functions as an important regulator in response to drought stress.

回顾1例小肠的上皮样恶性周围神经鞘膜瘤临床病理学特征及免疫组织化学特点并进行文献复习。患者为16岁男性，因肠梗阻入院。入院完善相关检查后，行剖腹探查、小肠部分切除术。术中所见：空、回肠交界处小肠肠壁内形成一直径2 cm结节。术后送病理检查，镜下见肠黏膜上皮存在、无上皮内瘤变；肿瘤位于肠上皮下，肿瘤细胞呈片状、巢状、条索状排列，浸润肌层；瘤细胞呈两种形态：上皮样及短梭形，大部分肿瘤细胞呈上皮样，梭形细胞穿梭于上皮样细胞之间或包绕上皮样细胞；两种肿瘤细胞有移行过渡；上皮样细胞多为圆形、卵圆形或多边形，排列密集，细胞核较大、圆形、空泡状，核仁明显、核分裂象少见；胞质丰富，呈嗜酸性或嗜双色性。短梭形肿瘤细胞，核大深染、胞质丰富、嗜酸性；肿瘤间质纤维化、局部可见似玻璃样变区；肿瘤细胞呈"列兵样"排列，浸润平滑肌。免疫组织化学显示肿瘤细胞弥漫强阳性表达S-100蛋白、SOX10、波形蛋白、bcl-2，Ki-67阳性指数5%~10%，不表达黑色素瘤相关抗原及肌源性标志物和上皮源性标志物。结合病史，最终诊断为小肠上皮样恶性周围神经鞘膜瘤。.

The incidence of bladder cancer (BC) is common in the world, but its detail mechanisms for occurrence and development remain unclear. Recently, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been observed to play an important role in many different diseases. In this research, we mainly explored the role of the RNA component of mitochondrial RNA processing endoribonuclease (lncRNA-RMRP) in bladder cancer.We used qRT-PCR to detect the expression of lncRNA-RMRP in bladder cancer patients and tumor cells, and the clinical significance was also analyzed. The methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay was used to detect the cell proliferation, and we used transwell to detect the migration and invasion, after the lncRNA RMRP was inhibited. Western-blot was used to measure the relative protein expression level in bladder cancer cells after transfection with siRNA-NC or siRNA-RMRP.We found that the lncRNA RMRP was highly expressed in bladder cancer tissue, compared with adjacent tissue. We also found that the expression of RMRP was closely related with the size, lymph node metastasis and survival time of patients. What's more, RMRP could promote the proliferation, migration and invasion of BC cell lines via regulating miR-206 as a sponge.According to the results, we found that lncRNA RMRP was closely related to the progression of bladder cancer, which could be a potential target for treating BC patients.

Despite being a key stakeholder of the construction supply chain, little has been known if consultant quantity surveyors (QS) are aware of, understood and employed the concept of sustainable construction at work. This research thus aimed to examine the awareness and practices of consultant QS in sustainable construction and their perceived barriers towards the implementation of sustainable construction. An online questionnaire survey of 40 consultant QS was undertaken and data was analysed using the relative prevalence indexing, one-sample and related-sample Wilcoxon signed tests, and Spearman correlation test. Overall, the results show that the consultant QS respondents had moderate understanding of sustainable construction, and that they generally related the concept to ‘Environment’, ‘Material’, ‘Resource’, and ‘Efficiency’. Furthermore, they had shown moderate awareness of the five principles of sustainable construction but did not practise them at work. The results further indicate that the culture of the construction industry, attitudes of clients and high initial investment costs are the three most significant barriers hindering the implementation of sustainable construction in the industry. Moreover, it seems that the respondents’ effort to practising those five sustainable construction principles could have been negated by the lack of sustainable measurement tools and building codes on sustainability. In moving forward, it is recommended that government and clients should play a more active role in promoting the implementation of sustainable construction.
