Abstract: A massless particle beyond the Standard Model is searched for in the two-body decay Σ+→p+invisible using (1.0087±0.0044)×1010 J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy of s=3.097GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction B(Σ+→p+invisible) is determined to be 3.2×10−5 at the 90% confidence level. This is the first search for a flavor-changing neutral current process with missing energy in hyperon decays which plays an important role in constraining new physics models.

2. Identification of AP2/ERF gene family of Salicaceae and their response to salt stress, abscisic acid, and gibberellic acid in Populus euphratica seeds

Abstract: Populus euphratica belongs to Salicaceae family and grows in extreme desert environments. At present, the identification of the AP2/ERF gene family of transcription factors in Salicaceae is rare, and the role of the AP2/ERF gene family in P. euphratica under salt stress and exogenous hormones has not been reported. In this study, 197, 210, 231, 192, and 147 AP2/ERF genes were identified in P. euphratica, Populus trichocarpa, Populus deltoides, Salix sinopurpurea, and Arabidopsis thaliana, respectively. The 197 AP2/ERF gene family members of P. euphratica were divided into five subfamilies, namely, AP2 (35), RAV (5), ERF (96), DREB (65), and Soloist (1), by sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis. In addition, these genes were scattered across 19 chromosomes. The detection of 10 motifs in the P. euphratica AP2/ERF gene family revealed that motif-8 and motif-9 only appeared in the ERF subfamily and DREB subfamily, respectively. Transcriptome data showed that PeAP2/ERF genes had different expression patterns under salt stress, abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellic acid (GA3) treatments, suggesting that the genes PeERF002, PeERF037, PeERF082, PeERF090, and PeAP2-14 may play important roles under salt stress and exogenous hormone treatments. This study provides a reference for the functional study of the PeAP2/ERF gene, and it also lays a foundation for the breeding strategy to improve the salt tolerance of P. euphratica.

Abstract: The spin and parity of the charmed mesons Ds⁎+, D⁎0 and D⁎+ are determined for the first time to be JP=1− with significances greater than 10σ over other hypotheses of 2+ and 3−, using an e+e− collision data sample with an integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV. Different spin-parity hypotheses are tested via a helicity amplitude analysis of the processes e+e−→Ds⁎+Ds−, D⁎0D0 and D⁎+D−, with Ds⁎+→Ds+γ, D⁎0→D0π0, and D⁎+→D+π0. The results confirm the quark model predictions.

Abstract: We search for the semi-leptonic decays Λc+→Λπ+π−e+νe and Λc+→pKS0π−e+νe in a sample of 4.5fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected in the center-of-mass energy region between 4.600GeV and 4.699GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on the decay branching fractions are set to be B(Λc+→Λπ+π−e+νe)

Abstract: We search for an axion-like particle (ALP) a through the process ψ(3686)→π+π−J/ψ, J/ψ→γa, a→γγ in a data sample of (2.71±0.01)×109 ψ(3686) events collected by the BESIII detector. No significant ALP signal is observed over the expected background, and the upper limits on the branching fraction of the decay J/ψ→γa and the ALP-photon coupling constant gaγγ are set at 95% confidence level in the mass range of 0.165≤ma≤2.84GeV/c2. The limits on B(J/ψ→γa) range from 8.3×10−8 to 1.8×10−6 over the search region, and the constraints on the ALP-photon coupling are the most stringent to date for 0.165≤ma≤1.468GeV/c2.

6. Effect of resonant magnetic perturbations including toroidal sidebands on magnetic footprints and fast ion losses in HL-2M

Abstract: Externally applied resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs), generated by magnetic coils located outside the plasma (referred to as RMP coils), provide an effective way to control the edge localized mode (ELM) in tokamak devices. Due to the discrete nature of the toroidal distribution of these window-frame coils, toroidal sidebands always exist together with the fundamental harmonics designed for ELM control. In this work, the MARS-F code (Liu et al 2000 Phys. Plasmas 7 3681) is applied to investigate the detailed features of the RMP spectra considering both the dominant harmonic ( n = 2) and the associated sideband ( n = 6), and the impact of the combined fields on magnetic footprints as well as on the fast ion losses for a reference double-null scenario in the HL-2M device. It is found that the sum of the n = 2 and n = 6 RMP fields splits the footprint and widens the footprint area, as compared to the single- n ( n = 2) harmonic case. The resistive plasma response breaks the up–down symmetry of the footprint pattern on the outer divertor plates, which is otherwise symmetric assuming vacuum RMP fields. Considering fast ion losses, a threshold value exists for the initially launched radial position of test particles, as well as for the RMP coil current, before the loss occurs. When the threshold criterion is satisfied, the combined n = 2 and n = 6 RMP fields enhance the fast ion loss rate by ${\sim}20\%$ , as compared to that of the n = 2 component alone. These results illustrate the important role of the sideband of RMP fields on the magnetic footprints and fast ion losses in tokamak plasmas.

Abstract: The turbulent transport properties and dynamics of zonal flows (ZFs) in the presence of fast ions (FIs) are investigated for a typical internal transport barrier (ITB) plasma based on the gyrokinetic approach, focusing on the role of FI temperature and the effects of the toroidal rotation, including the E × B rotational shear, parallel velocity gradient (PVG) as well as the rotation velocity itself. Linear GENE simulations have shown that the core ITB plasma on HL-2A is dominated by ion temperature gradient (ITG) modes and trapped electron modes (TEMs), where the former is stabilized by FIs whereas destabilized by the PVG. Neither of the FIs or the PVG has observable effect on TEMs. The ion heat transport generally decreases at large FI temperature due to the nonlinear electromagnetic stabilization of turbulence with increased total plasma β until electromagnetic modes are excited. The transport fluxes peak around a certain FI temperature and the ZF shearing rate is significantly higher at such value compared with that in the absence of FIs, and the heat flux reduction is a result of the synergistic interaction between turbulence, ZFs and the external rotational shear. The E × B shear stabilizing and PVG destabilizing is not obvious at low normalized ITG R / L _Ti , indicating they are less important in determining the stiffness level in the relatively low density and rotation scenarios regarding the HL-2A ITB discharges. The turbulence suppression is predominated by the nonlinear stabilization of ITG turbulence as well as enhanced ZFs simultaneously in the presence of FIs. These results have also provided the possible way to reduce the turbulence transport through increasing the FI temperature in the off-axis neutral beam heated plasmas such as in HL-2A.

Abstract: The formation of Internal Transport Barrier (ITB) is studied in HL-2A plasmas by means of nonlinear gyrokinetic simulations. A new paradigm for the ITB formation is proposed in which different physics mechanisms play a different role depending on the ITB formation stage. In the early stage, fast ions, introduced by Neutral Beam Injection ion system, are found to stabilize the thermal-ion-driven instability by dilution, thus reducing the ion heat fluxes and finally triggering the ITB. Such dilution effects, however, play a minor role after the ITB is triggered as electromagnetic (EM) effects are dominant in the presence of established high pressure gradients. We define the concept of ITB self-sustainment, as the low turbulence levels found within the fully formed ITB are consequences of large scale zonal flows, which in turn are fed by a non-linear interplay with large scale high frequency EM perturbations destabilized by the ITB itself.

Abstract: Improved energy confinement mode (I-mode) has been observed on the HL-2A tokamak. The I-mode features an edge transport barrier (ETB) in electron temperature and a low confinement mode like edge density. A weakly coherent mode (WCM) is observed in the edge region with the frequency of $f\sim 60{-}160$ kHz and the poloidal wavenumber of ${k_\theta }\sim 0.5{-}2.5{\text{cm}}{^{ - 1}}$ . The maximum of WCM amplitude is located near the top of electron temperature pedestal. A critical value of $E \times B$ velocity shear for triggering the L–I transition has been found, and is much lower than that for triggering the L–H transition. Additionally, ion internal transport barrier (ITB) has been observed in the I-mode. The formation of ion ITB is due to the increase of $E \times B$ velocity shear, leading to the suppression of turbulence. Transport analysis further confirms the existence of electron ETB and ion ITB. The coexistence of electron ETB and ion ITB leads to an improved plasma confinement, which is comparable to that in the high confinement mode, suggesting that I-mode with ITB regimes could be an interesting operation scenario for future fusion devices.

Abstract: The HL-2M tokamak is a new medium-sized tokamak at SouthWestern Institute of Physics. Two of its key missions are to achieve 10 keV ion temperature and investigate the behavior of energetic particles relevant to burning plasmas. A 6 MW ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) heating power is embedded in the next upgrade program of HL-2M. In order to facilitate the engineering design of the ICRF system, this paper analyses the main ICRF heating schemes for HL-2M, in terms of ion heating and energetic ion generation in particular. D(H) minority heating and the 2nd harmonic D will act as the main ion heating schemes, for which the optimal RF frequency range 27–33 MHz, antenna parallel wavenumber k _// ∼ 8 m ^−1 are proposed and strong single pass absorption is expected under typical HL-2M plasma parameters. Full wave simulations carried out via TORIC/steady-state Fokker–Planck quasilinear solver and TRANSP codes suggest that by adopting three ion scheme or synergetic heating on neutral beam injection D ions by the 2nd harmonic D, energetic ions with energy at MeV level can be produced. This study shows that ICRF heating could play significant roles in ion heating, energetic ion generation in HL-2M.

Abstract: l-Arginine is a nutritionally essential amino acid for spermatogenesis and plays versatile roles in animal health and can be utilized as a potential agent to improve reproductive performance of boars under high ambient temperature. The present study aimed to determine whether dietary l-arginine could alleviate heat stress-induced infertility in boars. In all, 20 boars (PIC 1040; 248.59±3.84 kg BW and 407.65±6.40 days of age) were selected and randomly assigned to four groups (group 0.0%, basal diet; group 0.6%, 0.8% or 1.0%, basal diet added with 0.6%, 0.8% or 1.0% l-arginine (wt:wt), respectively.) The four diets were made isonitrogenous by addition of appropriate amounts of l-alanine. Boars were pre-fed the corresponding experimental diet for 42 days. Then, the semen characteristics and libido were accessed for 6 weeks during the hot summer period (25.5° to 33.0°C). Results show that dietary l-arginine remarkably improved sperm motility, normality, total sperm number and effective total sperm number. 12. Balancing the use of maize residues for soil amendment and forage

Abstract: Balancing the use of maize (Zea mays L.) residues for soil amendment and forage is an important strategy for agricultural sustainability. Therefore, the study assessed the impacts of four proportions of maize residues to soil retention (S) and forage (F) on soil total organic carbon (TOC); total nitrogen (TN); carbon/nitrogen ratio (C/N); grain yield, economic benefits and nutritional contents of removed residues. The concentrations of TOC and TN increased when more residue returned, while the C/N ratios were S100 + F0 > S34 + F66 > S66 + F34. Also, crude protein, crude fat, and crude starch in the removed residues were F34 > F66 > F100, while the crude fiber and ash contents exhibited the opposite trend. The crop yield improved with residue retention increased, but there were no differences on the economic benefits of the four residue-use systems. The S34 + F66 system maintained a TOC ranging from 11.51 to 13.37 g/kg, a TN from 1.12 to 1.16 g/kg, 92.93% of the annual yields of the S100 + F0 system, and 6.2 t/ha/year of forage. Therefore, the S34 + F66 system can balance the use of maize residues for soil amendments and forage to sustainably develop a household crop-livestock system.

Abstract: Affective states influence subsequent attention allocation. We evaluated emotional negativity bias modulation by reappraisal in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) relative to normal controls. Event-related potential (ERP) recordings were obtained, and changes in P200 and P300 amplitudes in response to negative or neutral words were noted after decreasing negative emotion or establishing a neutral condition. We found that in GAD patients only, the mean P200 amplitude after negative word presentation was much higher than after the presentation of neutral words. In normal controls, after downregulation of negative emotion, the mean P300 amplitude in response to negative words was much lower than after neutral words, and this was significant in both the left and right regions. In GAD patients, the negative bias remained prominent and was not affected by reappraisal at the early stage. Reappraisal was observed to have a lateralized effect at the late stage.

15. Effects of urea types and irrigation on crop uptake, soil residual, and loss of nitrogen in maize field on the North China Plain

Abstract: Water and nitrogen managements are both very important to increase crop yield. An experiment was carried out in split plot design to study the effects of urea types (normal urea and coated urea) and irrigation on soil and fertilizer nitrogen use in maize (Zea mays L.) field in 2006 and 2007. Irrigation was used as main plot, and urea types were used as split-plot. Two irrigation levels, no irrigation in the whole growth duration and 85 mm irrigation at the blister stage, were designed. There were five nitrogen treatments, which were no nitrogen used as control (N0), normal urea 75 kg N/ha (N1), normal urea 150 kg N/ha (N2), coated urea 75 kg N/ha (C1) and coated urea 150 kg N/ha (C2). The results showed that, at the same level of irrigation and nitrogen, the soil nitrogen contents of the treatments with coated urea (CU) applied were higher in 0~40 cm soil layers, but lower in deeper soil layers, than those with normal urea (NU) applied. Irrigation increased the nitrate losing, but the nitrate loss of CU was lower than those of NU. Using CU with irrigation could increase the nitrogen uptake by maize, and more nitrogen was transfered to grain. At the same nitrogen level, CU had higher N recovery efficiency but lower soil N dependent rate than NU. When applied with CU, the nitrogen release rate was lower and the nitrogen was quickly absorbed by maize, which reduced the risk of nitrogen loss and increased the use efficiency of soil and fertilizer nitrogen. These results suggest that coated urea combined with deficit irrigation should be applied for high yield and nitrogen use efficiency of maize on the North China Plain.

Abstract: Water resources in semi-arid and arid regions are the most strongly limiting factor of the growth for plants. Rainwater efficient use is one of the focuses of the water resources research. In this paper, an experiment was conducted at Ka Zuo Research Station of Ecological Agriculture, Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in the hilly semi-arid area of North China. It aimed at studying the efficient use of rainwater harvesting of the cellar-greenhouse system (CGS). Results showed that, on average, the rainwater harvesting efficiency and sediment yield of the CGS were 5.7-15.7% and 865.8-1794.0 kg/ha, respectively, and that the rainwater harvesting efficiency and sediment yield of the CGS on slopes of 6° and 7° were significantly higher than that of the CGS on slope of 4.5°. In the CGS, over 52.1% of the irrigation rainwater was saved; the irrigation efficiency was significantly improved, by 21.15 kg/m3/ha on average, for sub-surface irrigation. Moreover, compared with flood irrigation, sub-surface irrigation could increase vegetable yield by 8.1-22.3%, improve output value of rainwater by 116.8-164.6%, and furthermore, the environmental conditions of the greenhouse on slope land were improved obviously. The mean unit area value of the CGS was about 13.5 times higher than that of the traditional land use system. By using the CGS, three goals, which were reducing water and soil losses, getting high rainwater use efficiency and gaining corresponding benefits, were realized.

The better apatite formation ability and higher MC3T3-E1 cell adhesion and proliferation for the braided PEEK composite reinforced with 6.5 wt% and 14.5 wt% nHA displayed than the unfilled PEEK matrix, mainly ascribed to the incorporation of nHA. Meanwhile, the elastic modulus, hardness, and bending strength of binary composites increased from 4.3 to 8.3 GPa, 0.23 to 0.34 GPa, and 138.86 to 155.32 MPa correspondingly. Compared with the fracture toughness of pure PEEK matrix, that of 6.5 wt% nHA/PEEK composites had a 54.9% increase, whereas that of 14.5 wt% nHA/PEEK composites showed a 23.6% decrease, which was mainly attributed to the interfacial properties between HA and PEEK as well as braid structure of PEEK filaments. These findings exhibited both good mechanical properties and bioactivity of the braided PEEK/nHA composites. Therefore, it is proposed that the 3D braiding-self retention-hot pressing technique is a promising approach for customized PEEK-based implants.

Abstract: Binary TiN monolayer coating cannot meet the demands of the industrial application. a route for improving its performance is the addition of new element: silicon, boron or carbon. Therefore the main objective of this work is the preparation of TiBN and TiBCN coatings with a nanocomposite structure offering a higher micro-hardness as well as an improved wear resistance. Arc ion plating was used for the deposition of the TiBN and TiBCN coatings on Si (100) and cemented carbide substrates. TiBN nanocomposites coatings was deposited using TiB2 composite target in pure N2 whereas for TiBCN coatings was in mixed C2H2 and N2. The components, microstructure and mechanical properties behavior of the nanocomposite coatings were investigated. TiBN coatings consisted of the crystalline phases TiN, TiB2 and amorphous BN. A maximum micro-hardness of about 3160 HV was observed at a 0.5 Pa N2 pressure while the micro-hardness correlates well with N2 pressure. TiBCN coatings prepared with the N2 and C2H2 process exhibit a nanocomposite structure of nanocrystalline TiN and TiB2, morphous C, CN and BN. Compared to TiBN, lower micro-hardness of the TiBCN coatings down to 1761 HV was measured for at 1/2 gas flow ratio of C2H2 and N2. For grinding material cemented carbide, the friction coefficient of TiBN coating was nearly 0.4 while the friction coefficient of TiBCN coatings was lower 0.2 with the increasing of C2H2 and N2 flow ratio.

Abstract: A 20-channel edge Lyman-Alpha-Based Beam emission spectroscopy (LAB) system, which diagnoses edge density fluctuations by measuring the Doppler-shifted Lyman-alpha line (n= 2 → 1, 121.53 nm) emitting via the interaction of neutral beams and plasma particles, is under developing on the HL-2A tokamak. The radial observation range covers the main plasma from R= 1.98 m to 2.05 m with a spatial resolution of about 0.33 cm and a temporal resolution of 1 μs. The overall design for this system is completed, including the reflective collection optics, the spectrometer with a reflective toroidal grating, the detector array, and the vacuum system. Abstract: In this study, the semi-solid sintering of TiNbFeCoAl amorphous powder was carried out by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and spark plasma sintering (SPS), both of which are assisted by thermo-mechanical field, and finally two alloys with eutectic structure were prepared. The results show that the SPSed and HIPed alloys are composed of hypoeutectic (local ultra-fine lamellar eutectic β-Ti + TiFe and residual spherical β-Ti) and equiaxed Ti2Co phase. However, the size of hypoeutectic structure in SPSed alloy is about one third of that in HIPed alloy, and the size of the Ti2Co phase is not much different. Moreover, the Ti2Co phase in SPSed alloy is uniformly dispersed, while that in HIPed alloy is more likely to gather at the β-Ti grain boundaries. In addition, compared with the HIPed alloy, there is an obvious orientation relationship between the eutectic lamellae of SPSed alloy, which exhibits higher yield strength (1580 ± 6 MPa) and larger plastic strain (26.2 ± 0.6%). The failure analysis shows that eutectic structure can effectively prevent the propagation of micro cracks and mainly contribute to the yield strength of the alloys, while the stable phase boundaries, spherical β-Ti and dispersed Ti2Co particles mainly contribute to the strength and plasticity of the alloy.

Abstract: In view of the many problems in firefighting robots, such as complicated flame positioning, poor environmental adaptability, and difficult installation and debugging, a new firefighting robot design is presented with video full closed-loop feedback to extinguish ground fire in this paper. The firefighting robot consists of a 2-DOF robot, a monocular camera, and a controller. The monocular camera installed on the second link of the robot is utilized to detect and locate ground flames. The robot can dynamically adjust the water landing point to track a flame in real-time through motion control, as the camera is spe cifically designed with an additional infrared narrowband pass filter and a filter-switching mechanism. An algorithm of detecting and positioning for flame and water landing point is proposed based on image processing and robotic kinematics. Experimental results show that the firefighting robot with video full closed-loop feedback can realize real-time flame detection, location, and sprinkler, and can dynami cally track fire location within the monitoring scope. The distance error between fire and the landing point of the water jet can be controlled within a narrow range. Moreover, this firefighting robot is easy to install, debug and have good environment adaptability, and provides efficient and safe solutions for complicated firefighting environment. At the same time, due to its small size and convenient calibration features, this firefighting robot is especially suitable for large space environments.

Abstract: A hierarchical hybrid structure of cuprous sulfide (Cu2S) nanoparticles anchored graphene (Cu2S/RGO) has been successfully synthesized through a facile one-step hydrothermal method. The Cu2S nanoparticles with a size in the range of 10–30 nm are uniformly deposited onto the double sides of the RGO nanosheets to form a sandwich structure. Electrochemical tests demonstrate that the as-synthesized Cu2S/RGO hybrids have an improved specific capacitance of 208 F g−1 at a current density of 1.0 A g−1. The Cu2S/RGO exhibit higher cycling and rate performances than corresponding Cu2S nanoparticles mainly attributed to the unique structural properties of Cu2S/RGO hybrids, which combine a non-aggregation of graphene layers and well distribution of Cu2S nanoparticles.

Abstract: Background Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease with clinical manifestations of the skin that affect adults and children. In adults, biologics have revolutionized the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis where clear or almost clear is a tangible goal. Research on biologics has recently been extended to children. The introduction of these new therapeutic options has outpaced the limited guidelines in this population. Objective To provide a review of current data on biologics, with a proposal for a clinically relevant treatment algorithm on the management of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in the pediatric population. Methods A Canadian panel with expertise in psoriasis, pediatric dermatology, and experience with consensus recommendation processes was selected to review the current landscape of pediatric psoriasis and clinical data on biologics plus identify special considerations for baseline workup and monitoring. Recommendations were reviewed and edited by each expert in an iterative process. Conclusion A treatment algorithm for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in pediatric patients is presented, incorporating approved biologics. Guidance on baseline screening and ongoing monitoring is also provided. Ultimately, treatment choice depends on the patient and his or her caregiver, with consideration of comorbidities, impact on quality of life, and relevant safety aspects.

Abstract: A patient who had previously undergone a gastrectomy due to gastric ulcer perforation was admitted to our hospital. He presented with epigastric pain and poor oral intake accompanied with gastrointestinal bleeding, and was diagnosed with gastric stump cancer. He had a history of renal transplantation and was administered immunosuppressive agents. To alleviate the obstructive symptom and cure the gastrointestinal bleeding, the patient underwent surgical resection of the malignant tumor, with stable kidney function during the perioperative period. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first case reported in the English literature concerning gastric stump cancer that developed after renal transplantation. We speculate that the long-term use of immunosuppressants concomitant with gastrointestinal disorders after gastric surgery was an important causative factor in its etiology. We also investigated the possible treatment for it.

Abstract: The influence of oil contamination on the optical performance of fused silica and laser induced damage threshold (LIDT) at 355 nm is studied. The liquid vacuum oil is artificially spun on the fused silica surface. Optical microscopy and ultraviolet–visible (UV–vis) spectrophotometer are used to identify and understand the potential influence of oil contamination on the optical performance of fused silica. The results show that a large number of oil droplets are observed on the surface of fused silica after spin-coating, and the transmissivity of fused silica decreases with the increasing oil quantity. The LIDTs of fused silica decrease with the increasing oil mass for both on input and output surfaces at 355 nm, and the LIDT of fused silica with oil on input surface is lower than that on output surface at same contamination level. The damage mechanisms are also discussed by the photo-thermal measurement and three dimensional finite difference time domain (3D-FDTD) method. The experimental and simulated results show that the electric-field modulation by oil droplets, rather than its photo-thermal absorption, is mainly responsible for the oil contamination induced laser damage of fused silica.

Abstract: Affective states influence subsequent attention allocation. We evaluated emotional negativity bias modulation by reappraisal in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) relative to normal controls. Event-related potential (ERP) recordings were obtained, and changes in P200 and P300 amplitudes in response to negative or neutral words were noted after decreasing negative emotion or establishing a neutral condition. We found that in GAD patients only, the mean P200 amplitude after negative word presentation was much higher than after the presentation of neutral words. In normal controls, after downregulation of negative emotion, the mean P300 amplitude in response to negative words was much lower than after neutral words, and this was significant in both the left and right regions. In GAD patients, the negative bias remained prominent and was not affected by reappraisal at the early stage. Reappraisal was observed to have a lateralized effect at the late stage.

Abstract: Pure eulytite Bi4(SiO4)3crystals were prepared by high temperature melt cooling method using Bi2O3and SiO2as starting materials. In this study, the properties of the samples were characterized by thermo gravimetric (TG),differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that eulytite Bi4(SiO4)3was crystallized when high temperature glass-melt were cooled to 943°C and obvious exothermal peak is shown on the DSC curve; and pure eulytite Bi4(SiO4)3crystals were synthesized by keeping the processing temperature for 8 hours. Bi4(SiO4)3grains grew larger and the amount of vacancy increased along with the extension of holding time, while Bi4(SiO4)3grains still presented a structure of partial ordering. Eulytite Bi4(SiO4)3prepared through melt-cooling method is of high purity and good stability, and can be applied as starting materials of preparation of Bi4(SiO4)3thin film and high quality Bi4(SiO4)3macrocrystal.

Abstract: Iron diselenide (FeSe2) is an interesting p-type semiconductor with a band-gap of 1.0 eV suitable for photovoltaic devices. Low temperature synthesis of FeSe2 nanostructures has not been sufficiently investigated. In this letter, we demonstrate that flower-like FeSe2 particles can be synthesized by a hot-injection method using oleylamine as solvent and reducing agent in vacuum. The absorption properties demonstrate that these as-prepared flower-like FeSe2 particles have a broad optical absorption in the near-infrared region. The Raman spectrum of the as-prepared flower-like FeSe2 particles shows characteristic peaks of Se–Se active modes at 182.5 and 217.5 cm−1. It is reasonable to expect the non-toxic and low-cost synthetic strategy will be applicable for the synthesis of other selenide nanostructures.

43. Reducing the total stimulated brillouin scattering of two-color lasers through two-ion decay

Abstract: A mechanism coupling the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) of two-color lasers with wavelengths of 527 and 351 $\mathrm{nm}$ via the two-ion decay instability is proposed. When the SBS reflectivities of both lasers exceed 10%, the ion-acoustic wave excited by the 527 $\mathrm{nm}$ laser seeds the decay process of the ion-acoustic wave excited by the 351 $\mathrm{nm}$ laser, thereby promoting the decay of the latter into the former. This results in a significant reduction in the SBS reflectivity of the 351 $\mathrm{nm}$ laser, while the SBS of the 527 $\mathrm{nm}$ laser exhibits minimal variation, consequently reducing the total SBS reflectivity. The total SBS reflectivity initially decreases and then increases as the intensity fraction α of the 527 $\mathrm{nm}$ laser rises. When $\alpha \sim (20\%{-}30\%)$ , the laser energy reflections from both lasers become approximately equal, achieving the minimum total reflectivity. Through this mechanism, the incidence of the two-color lasers can achieve lower reflected energy compared to monochromatic lasers with the same total intensity. These results demonstrate the significant potential of replacing a small fraction of high-frequency light with low-frequency light in enhancing the laser-target coupling efficiency for inertial fusion energy.

Abstract: 1. This study was conducted to explore the promoter region of the chicken ASB15 gene by detecting the activities of the dual luciferase reporter gene and to assess expression profiles of the ASB15 gene in 10 different tissues from Gushi chickens.2. Five dual luciferase reporter gene vectors were constructed and transfected into DF1 cells. The activities of recombined plasmids were measured and the core promoter was confirmed by bioinformatic analysis. Total RNA was extracted and the relative expression of the ASB15 gene was examined.3. Data analysis indicated that the promoter was located from −955 to −212 bp. Results showed that the chicken ASB15 gene was expressed in heart, breast muscle and leg muscle.4. This study has confirmed the promoter region and the expression profile of the chicken ASB15 gene, which provides a foundation for further exploring its transcriptional regulation and function.

Abstract: Sn nanoparticle decorated graphene (Sn–Gr) materials were prepared by adding tin powder to the reaction of graphite oxide during thermal reduction. In this reaction, Sn nanoparticles were directly grown on the surface of graphene sheets. The Sn nanoparticles were distributed on the surface of Gr sheets uniformly, in which Sn nanoparticles act as a spacer to effectively separate graphene sheets. Sn–Gr electrodes exhibit a high specific capacitance of ∼320 F g −1 at scan rate of 10 mV s −1 in 2 M KNO 3 aqueous solution. The high specific capacitance and charge/discharge rates offered by such hybrid structures make them promising candidates as electrodes in supercapacitors with both high energy and power density.

Abstract: Neutral beam (NB) attenuation and beam emission are important aspects for Beam Emission Spectroscopy diagnostic on magnetic confinement devices. In this article, we present the simulation of beam attenuation and beam emission in typical HL-2A discharge scenarios, i.e. Low mode (L-mode) and High mode (H-mode) discharges. Not only the NB attenuation, but also the plasma density and electron temperature determine the beam emission intensity. The pronounced beam emission peak ranges from ρ =r/a=0.7 to 0.9 in H-mode discharge, while it has a much lower and broader peak in L-mode discharge. 16 BES channels have been developed on HL-2A tokamak and the experimentally diagnosed data fit well with the simulation, showing not only the validation of this simulation but also the high performance of developed BES channels. And it provides a reference for the upgrading of a 64-channel BES system.

Abstract: The doping effect of hydrogen atoms on geometric and electronic properties of small aluminum cluster, Al3, where deviation from the jellium model may occur, is investigated from a first-principle method. It is found that the most favorable sites for H atoms to be bound to Al atoms depend on amount of H atoms. For each cluster, Al–H bond lengths have the smallest values when the H atoms are on the top sites and have the largest values when the H atoms are on face sites, while those corresponding to bridge-site H atoms are of medium value. The doping of H increases the binding energy of the Al3 cluster. Al3H3 and Al3H5 are found to have much lower electron affinities, higher ionization potentials and significantly larger HOMO–LUMO gaps than their neighbors, which are typical characteristics of magic clusters. The high stabilities of the Al3H3 and Al3H5 suggest that they may have a good potential applications in cluster-assembled materials.
