Abstract

Gold ore characterization which includes chemical, physical, and mineralogical properties needs to be carried out to determine gold processing methods and design parameters as well as tailings processing. This study focuses on discussing the physical properties of gold ore in the Lebak Gedong area, Lebak, Banten to support the results of the analysis of the chemical properties of the ore, in particular to determine the type of gold ore and to determine the optimum grinding time to achieve the majority grain size of the ore -200 mesh. The analysis carried out for physical characterization was visual analysis, as well as grain size analysis based on grinding time, namely 0 hours, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, and 4 hours. Grain size analysis was carried out using the ASTM D6913 method and using sieves measuring 80, 100, 140, and 200 mesh, which were performed manually. Based on the results of the analysis of the percentage weight of the grain size and the percentage of retained weight, the optimum grinding time is more than 4 hours with a size of -200 mesh.

Abstract

Nickel ore in nature is divided into 2 types, namely nickel sulfide and nickel oxide which is often called laterite. According to global data, the world's nickel Ni reserves are around 139.419 billion tons and in Indonesia there are around 72 million tons of Ni including Limonite. This amount is the largest reserve in the world which covers 52% of the world's reserves. Laterite resources in Indonesia reached 3,565 million tons of ore (more than 3.5 billion tons) or equivalent to 52.2 million tons of Ni metal. Nickel is a raw material for electric batteries found in Indonesia, one of which is a potential location, namely the Southeast Sulawesi Province. One of the uses of Nickel is for battery raw materials. The raw materials for electric batteries are Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese and Lithium. The potential location of Nickel in Southeast Sulawesi, namely in Kolaka Regency, is estimated at 1.3 billion tons spread over the sub-districts of Wolo, Wundulako, Baula, Pomalaa, Tanggetada, and Watubangga. Konawe Regency is 529.9 million tons, with a resource value of 460.57 million tons, and reserves of 69.3 million tons, Ni levels range from 0.6–2%, located in Routa District, Puriala District, Pondidaha District

19. Prevalence of stress urinary incontinence and its impact on quality of life among women in Jordan: a correlational study

Abstract

Objective The study investigated the prevalence and impact of stress urinary incontinence (SUI) among women in Jordan.Methods A correlational study was conducted to evaluate 500 Jordanian women aged >20 years. Women with symptoms of dementia, delirium, neurodegenerative changes and osteodegenerative changes were excluded. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires (Arabic version of the Urogenital Distress Inventory-6 and Incontinence Impact Questionnaire (IIQ-7) short forms).Results A total of 200 (40%) women reported SUI; 47% reported mild symptoms, 37% reported moderate symptoms and 16% reported severe symptoms. There were positive correlations between SUI prevalence and number of pregnancies, age and obesity. SUI had a substantial impact on all aspects of quality of life (QoL), as assessed by the IIQ-7.Conclusions A moderate prevalence of SUI was reported. There was a significant association between development of SUI and age, higher body mass index and number of pregnancies. Because SUI is highly prevalent and has a major effect on QoL, healthcare professionals should inquire about this condition and refer patients to related specialties for treatment.

Abstract

Coronary Artery Calcification (CAC) has been known to be associated with worse PercutaneousCoronary Intervention (PCI) short- and long-term outcomes. Nowadays, with the increasedprevalence of the risk factors leading to CAC in the population and also more PCI procedures donein older patients and with the growing number of higher-risk cases of Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO)PCI and PCI after Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), severe cases of CAC are nowencountered on a daily basis in the catheterization lab and remain a big challenge to the interventionalcommunity, making it crucial to identify cases of severe CAC and plan a CAC PCI modificationstrategy upfront. Improved CAC detection with intravascular imaging helped identify more ofthese severe CAC cases and predict response to therapy and stent expansion based on CAC distributionin the vessel. Multiple available therapies for CAC modification have evolved over the years.Familiarity with the specifics and special considerations and limitations of each of these tools areessential in the choice and application of these therapies when used in severe CAC treatment. Inthis review, we discuss CAC pathophysiology, modes of detection, and different available therapiesfor CAC modification.
