Purpose: In this study, first, second, third, and fourth-order derivative spectrophotometric methods utilizing the peak—zero (P—O) and peak-peak (P—P) techniques of measurement were developed for the determination of levofloxacin, norfloxacin, and moxifloxacin. These methods were applied to their combined pharmaceutical dosage form or individually for levofloxacin, norfloxacin, and moxifloxacin. Methods: Linearity was established in the concentration range of 2–20 µg/mL. The procedures are simple, quick, and precise. The developed methods are sensitive, accurate, and cost-effective, demonstrating excellent correlation coefficients (R2 = 0.9998) and mean recovery values ranging from 99.20% to 100.08%, indicating a high level of precision. Results: The developed approach was effectively employed to determine the levofloxacin, norfloxacin, and moxifloxacin content in commercially available pharmaceutical dosages. Conclusions: Statistical analysis and recovery tests confirmed the method's linearity and accuracy. The results suggest that this method can be utilized for routine analysis in both bulk and commercial formulations. In this paper, we construct and analyze a linearized finite difference/Galerkin–Legendre spectral scheme for the nonlinear multiterm Caputo time fractional-order reaction-diffusion equation with time delay and Riesz space fractional derivatives. The temporal fractional orders in the considered model are taken as 0 < β 0 < β 1 < β 2 < ⋯ < β m < 1 . The problem is first approximated by the L 1 difference method on the temporal direction, and then, the Galerkin–Legendre spectral method is applied on the spatial discretization. Armed by an appropriate form of discrete fractional Grönwall inequalities, the stability and convergence of the fully discrete scheme are investigated by discrete energy estimates. We show that the proposed method is stable and has a convergent order of 2 − β m in time and an exponential rate of convergence in space. In this paper, we propose a robust and simple technique with efficient algorithmic implementation for numerically solving the nonlocal evolution problems. A theta-type (θ -type) convolution quadrature rule is derived to approximate the nonlocal integral term in the problem under consideration, such that θ ∈ (1 2 , 1) , which remains untreated in the literature. The proposed approaches are based on the θ method ( 1 2 ≤ θ ≤ 1 ) for the time derivative and the constructed θ -type convolution quadrature rule for the fractional integral term. A detailed error analysis of the proposed scheme is provided with respect to the usual convolution kernel and the tempered one. In order to fully discretize our problem, we implement the orthogonal spline collocation (OSC) method with piecewise Hermite bicubic for spatial operators. Stability and error estimates of the proposed θ -OSC schemes are discussed. Finally, some numerical experiments are introduced to demonstrate the efficiency of our theoretical findings. Rice is an economically important and widely consumed cereal that achieves high yields under submerged condition. Moreover, due to degradation in physical properties of calcareous soils it is difficult to apply flood irrigation for sowing rice crop. So, the soil and water management is favorites. Whether, Draught rice with different levels of organic manure and water depletion used to achieve this target. The obtained results revealed that increasing organic addition (sheep dung) increased soil heat capacity and air permeability by 23.7% and 65% respectively, and decreased soil impedance by 21%. Whilst, increasing moisture depletion raised soil impedance and air permeability by 2.5 and 6.8% respectively while the feeble effect was for heat capacity (0.05%). When the two factors coupled together gave the major effects on previous properties. Also, roots weight increased by increasing soil heat capacity and air permeability and by decreasing soil impedance. Moreover, improving root growth and soil organic matter resulted in increasing rice cereal and straw yield while moisture depletion show a negative significant relation with cereal and negative non significant relation with straw, but when coupled with other factors it show a highly significant relation. Water consumption increase by increasing plant livetime and moisture depletion by144% (181.27m3) and 1.5 % ( 53.38m3) respectively. While, increasing roots weight and organic addition resulted in decreased water consumption by 5.3% (189.8m3) and 3.95% (140.4m3). Finally, by increasing organic additions and roots weight increased both cereal and straw water use efficiency by (21, 23%) and (35, 36%) respectively, While it decreased to (9.4%) and 5.6% as increasing of moisture depletion. A field study was conducted in the summer season of 2017 in the Agricultural Experimental Station of Desert Research Center (D R C), Wadi Suder, South Sinai, to evaluate the effect of sewage sludge on soil albedo, evaporation and plant transpiration and to study the potential impact of transpiration and albedo on heavy metals mobility factors. In general, adding sewage sludge to calcareous soil increase soil organic matter and soil Whatever, transpiration correlates with plant lifetime, therefore it increased as life time increase. The accumulation of elements was generally higher in the root as compared by shoot and grains. The enrichment factor (EF) of Zn, Cu, pb and Cd increased by increasing sewage sludge application rates and reached to 41, 62, 87 and 240% for Zn, Cu, Pb and Cd, respectively. Concerning the effect of soil albedo which decreases as increasing soil organic matter and sorghum lifetime, the last same percents of increasing in enrichment factors (EF) ratio were achieved by decreasing soil albedo. The data of bioaccumulation factor (BF) revealed that elevated transpiration led to the increase of metal uptake and bioaccumulation factors of the studied heavy metals, the concentration ratio reached 41, 46, 41 and 52%for Zn, Cu, Pb and Cd, respectively. Meantime, BF ratios reached 54, 58, 59 and 53% for the previous sequence of metals. Transpiration show a non-significant relation with Zn transport, also the negative relation achieved for Cu and Cd while Pb increased by increasing transpiration. Translocation factors values of heavy metals reach 0.57, 0.42, 0.58 and 0.19 for Zn, Cu, Pb and Cd, respectively. Finally, plants with a high BF and low TF have the potential and ability to sequestrate most contaminants from sludge amended soil in roots consequently prevent reaching to the beneficial part of plant. Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) can ofer high surface area (> 700 m2/g). MWNTs functionalized with energetic groups can find wide applications in advanced energetic systems. We coat MWNTs with copper through electroless plating and subsequently anneal the hybrid Cu-MWNT material at 250 °C to develop CuO-MWNT. TEM micrographs showed that MWNTs of 20–30 nm and 5–10 nm outer and inner diameters and 0.5–2.0 µm length were homogeneously decorated with CuO nanoparticles; XRD diffractograms revealed highly crystalline structure. Since CuO particles can act as effective oxidizer for aluminium in nanothermite applications. CuO-MWNTs were effectively dispersed with aluminium nanoparticles (100 nm) in isopropyl alcohol; subsequently colloidal nanothermite particles were dispersed into molten tri-nitro toluene (TNT). Upon initiation, the nanothermite colloid offered not only an increase in the shock wave strength of TNT by 29% using ballistic mortar test; but also an increae in brisance (destructive effect) by 15.6%. The surfaces of carbon nanofibers (CNFs) were first pretreated with a catalyst to enable metal deposition and subsequently coated with a nanoscale layer of copper through electroless deposition. The resulting Cu-coated CNF hybrid was annealed at 250 °C to obtain CuO-coated CNFs that were ultrasonically suspended with aluminum nanoparticles (100 nm) in isopropyl alcohol to produce nanothermite colloid; where CuO coating can act as an effective oxidizer for Al nanoparticles. The developed nanothermite colloid was integrated and effectively dispersed in molten tri-nitro toluene (TNT). This novel colloid offers an increase in TNT shock wave strength of by 26% using a ballistic mortar test. Moreover it offers an increase total heat release by 75% using DSC. In this paper, we provide a numerical solution for the nonlinear tempered fractional integrodifferential equation in three dimensions. We use the trapezoidal convolution rule with backward differences (BDF2) for temporal discretization, and develop an alternating direction implicit difference scheme for spatial discretization. A novel fast approximation is applied to tackle the nonlinear term. The stability and convergence analysis of the numerical scheme are analyzed. In this paper, we investigate numerical solution of the variable-order fractional Galilei advection-diffusion equation with a nonlinear source term. The suggested method is based on the shifted Legendre collocation procedure and a matrix form representation of variable-order Caputo fractional derivative. The main advantage of the proposed method is investigating a global approximation for the spatial and temporal discretizations. This method reduces the problem to a system of algebraic equations, which is easier to solve. The validity and effectiveness of the method are illustrated by an easy-to-follow example. One of the great impetus of nanotechnology on energetic materials is the achievement of nanothermites (metal-oxide/metal) which are characterized by massive heat output. Yet, full exploitation of super-thermites in highly energetic systems has not been achieved. This manuscript reports on the sustainable fabrication of colloidal Fe 2 O 3 and CuO nanoparticles for thermite applications. TEM micrographs demonstrated mono-dispersed Fe 2 O 3 and CuO with an average particle size of 3 and 15 nm respectively. XRD diffractograms demonstrated highly crystalline materials. SEM micrographs demonstrated a great tendency of the developed oxides to aggregate over drying process. The effective integration and dispersion of mono-dispersed colloidal thermite particles into energetic systems are vital for enhanced performance. Aluminum is of interest as highly energetic metal fuel. In this paper, synthesized Fe 2 O 3 and CuO nanoparticles were re-dispersed in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) with aluminum nanoparticles using ultrasonic prope homogenizer. The colloidal thermite peraticles can be intgegrated into highly energetic system for subsequent nanocomposite development. Thanks to stabilization of colloidal CuO nanoparticles in IPA which could offer intimate mixing between oxidizer and metal fuel. The stabilization mechanism of CuO in IPA was correlated to steric stabilization with solvent molecules. This approach eliminated nanoparticle drying and the re-dispersion of dry aggregates into energetic materials. The phase behaviour of carbon dioxide/propargylic alcohols and carbon dioxide/oxetanes mixtures has been investigated using in-situ FTIR microspectrometry that allows us determining the evolution of the concentration of each component in the liquid phase as a function of temperature and pressure. It was at the same time possible to look inside the cell and to visualize the expansion of the liquid phase during the increase of the pressure. The measurements were performed at three different temperatures (40, 70 and 100 °C) for pressures ranging between 0.1 and 15 MPa. Propargylic alcohol (PA), 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol (MBOL), 3-butyn-1-ol (BOL) and trimethylene oxide (TMO) were selected as these molecules are used in the synthesis of cyclic or polycarbonates by coupling with CO 2 . Thus, we determined the CO 2 sorption and the concentration of the substrate in the liquid phase. In this study, an MMG-based maneuvering simulation method (Yasukawa and Yoshimura, J Mar Sci Technol 20(1):37-52, 1) was used to investigate the maneuverability of a VLCC in still water and adverse weather conditions. Specifically, the investigation involved a situation where the engine output of a VLCC was significantly reduced owing to advances in energy-saving technology. First, a VLCC with 30% reduced Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) (IMO MEPC 63/23, Annex 8, Resolution MEPC.212(63), 2012 guidelines on the method of calculation on the attained EEDI for New Ships, 2) (Step3) is actually planned to the conventional VLCC (Step0) by adoption of energy efficiency devices, a large-diameter and low-revolution propeller, etc. Next, maneuvering simulations of two ships (Step0 and Step3) were performed in still water and adverse weather conditions. It was observed that Step3 satisfied IMO maneuvering criteria in the still water condition. However, the maneuverability of Step3 was worse than that of Step0 since the rudder force was reduced owing to the low propeller load, which resulted from the small engine output. Additionally, steady-state sailing performance of Step3 in adverse weather conditions, such as check helm, hull drift angle, and speed drop, generally worsened when compared with those of Step0. Furthermore, course changing ability also deteriorated in the case of Step3. However, the difference between the trajectories of Step0 and Step3 reduced with respect to the large Beaufort scale since the difference in the rudder force became less noticeable owing to the presence of large external lateral forces caused by strong winds and waves. In this paper we present the operational matrices of the left Caputo fractional derivative, right Caputo fractional derivative and Riemann–Liouville fractional integral for shifted Legendre polynomials. We develop an accurate numerical algorithm to solve the two-sided space–time fractional advection–dispersion equation (FADE) based on a spectral shifted Legendre tau (SLT) method in combination with the derived shifted Legendre operational matrices. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. We propose a spectral SLT method, both in temporal and spatial discretizations for the two-sided space–time FADE. This technique reduces the two-sided space–time FADE to a system of algebraic equations that simplifies the problem. Numerical results carried out to confirm the spectral accuracy and efficiency of the proposed algorithm. By selecting relatively few Legendre polynomial degrees, we are able to get very accurate approximations, demonstrating the utility of the new approach over other numerical methods. The space-time fractional diffusion-wave equation (FDWE) is a generalization of classical diffusion and wave equations which is used in modeling practical phenomena of diffusion and wave in fluid flow, oil strata and others. This paper reports an accurate spectral tau method for solving the two-sided space and time Caputo FDWE with various types of nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. The proposed method is based on shifted Legendre tau (SLT) procedure in conjunction with the shifted Legendre operational matrices of Riemann-Liouville fractional integral, left-sided and right-sided fractional derivatives. We focus primarily on implementing this algorithm in both temporal and spatial discretizations. In addition, convergence analysis is provided theoretically for the Dirichlet boundary conditions, along with graphical analysis for several special cases using other conditions. These suggest that the Legendre Tau method converges exponentially provided that the data in the given FDWE are smooth. Complexes of sulfadoxine as a pharmaceutical ligand with Ca(II), Mg(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), and VO(II), were synthesized and characterized by microanalysis, conductance, infrared and thermogravimetric (TGA/DTG and DTA) measurements. The ligand can be coordinate as a bidentate feature via (C=N) and (S=O) groups. Sulfadoxine ligand as well as their complexes has been checked against some kinds of bacteria and fungi which gave a significant effect. Complexes of nalidixic acid with Ca(II), Mg(II), Zn(II), Fe(III), and VO(II) ions, have been synthesized and characterized by means of microanalysis, conductance, IR, NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopy and thermogravimetric (TGA/DTG and DTA) measurements. The ligand coordinates in a bidentate mode via one carboxylate oxygen atom and the oxygen atom of the pyridine carbonyl group. In order to separate and characterize some grades of paraffin waxes from El-Ameria crude waxes (slack waxes), a one-stage fractional crystallization technique has been done to separate the paraffin waxes with different characteristics by using different solvents and solvent mixtures at ambient temperature of 20°C and fixed dilution and washing solvent ratios (S/F) of 4:1 and 2:1 by weight, respectively. The fractionating solvents used are n-hexane, methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), dioxane, ethyl acetate, and butyl acetate as a single solvent and a mixture of methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) containing benzene (B) and toluene (T) as a mixed solvent. The resulting data revealed that dioxane and n-hexane solvents are not suitable for fractional crystallization of slack waxes, and the most suitable solvents for separating paraffin waxes with the standard specifications are ethyl and butyl acetates, MIBK, and the mixture of MEK, B, and T (60:20:20 by weight, respectively). In this paper, we deal with the nonlinear fractional pseudo‐parabolic equations (FPPEs). We propose an accurate numerical algorithm for solving the aforementioned well‐known equation. The problem is discretized in the temporal direction by utilizing a graded mesh linearized scheme and in the spatial direction by the Galerkin‐spectral scheme. We investigate the stability conditions of the proposed scheme. We also provide an H1$$ {H}^1 $$ error estimate of the proposed approach to demonstrate that it is convergent with temporal second‐order accuracy for fitted grading parameters. MWNTs can expose surface area (> 700 m2 g−1) as well as high catalyzing ability; additionally they can act as carrier for energetic components. This study reports on coating MWNTs with copper particles throughout electroless plating. Hybrid Cu-MWNTs was annealed at 250 °C to develop CuO-MWNTs. TEM micrographs demonstrated MWNTs regularly coated with CuO nanoparticles. XRD diffractograms revealed high crystalline structure. Ammonium perchlorates (APC) is common oxidizer for solid propellants; however its decomposition is an endothermic process. Synthesized CuO-MWNTs were encapsulated into APC oxidizer via solvent–antisolvent technique. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) were employed to investigate catalytic performance of CuO-MWNTs. At 1 wt%, CuO-MWNTs decreased APC endothermic decomposition by 16.3%. The two subsequent exothermic decomposition stages were fused into one stage with surge in total heat release by 100%. Spectral methods for solving differential/integral equations are characterized by the representation of the solution by a truncated series of smooth functions. The unknowns to be determined are the expansion coefficients in such a representation. The goal of this article is to give an overview of numerical problems encountered when determining these coefficients and the rich variety of techniques proposed to solve these problems. Therefore, a series of explicit formulae expressing the derivatives, integrals and moments of a class of orthogonal polynomials of any degree and for any order in terms of the same polynomials are addressed. We restrict the current study to the orthogonal polynomials of the Hermite, generalized Laguerre, Bessel, and Jacobi (including Legendre, Chebyshev, and ultraspherical) families. Moreover, formulae expressing the coefficients of an expansion of these polynomials which have been differentiated or integrated an arbitrary number of times in terms of the coefficients of the original expansion are given. In addition, formulae for the polynomial coefficients of the moments of a general-order derivative of an infinitely differentiable function in terms of its original expanded coefficients are also presented. A simple approach to build and solve recursively for the connection coefficients between different orthogonal polynomials is established. The essential results are summarized in tables which could serve as a useful reference to numerical analysts and practitioners. Finally, applications of these results in solving differential and integral equations with varying polynomial coefficients, by reducing them to recurrence relations in the expansion coefficients of the solution, are implemented. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of tetrodotoxin (TTX) extracted from puffer fish Lagocephalus sceleratus on hepatotoxicity induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). Adult male albino mice were divided into four groups: 1) control group treated with saline; 2) CCl4 group; 3) mice injected with 5 doses of TTX (1 μg/kg) and 4) mice injected with 5 doses of TTX (1 μg/kg) then treated with CCl4 for 6 weeks. The results showed that injection with 5 doses of TTX extract significantly reduced the impact of CCl4 toxicity on the serum markers of the liver, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and albumin (Alb). However, the biochemical results of TTX group were significantly different from the control group. On the other hand, the histologic examination of liver sections from mice given CCl4 showed hyperplasia of bile ducts, excessive fibrosis in portal areas associated with detachment from parenchyma and lymphocytic infiltration. Other damaging features were microvesicular fatty change, pyknotic nuclei, karyolytic nuclei, irregular dilated sinusoids with active Kupffer cells and some hepatocytes showed necrosis. On the other hand, mice injected only with TTX showed an almost normal pattern with few random sites of hydropic degeneration. While the liver sections from TTX + CCl4 group showed noticeable hydropic degeneration, lymphocyte infiltration, and hemorrhage especially in the portal area. However, no signs of fatty degeneration or excessive fibrosis were observed like those noticed in case of CCl4. Moreover, no signs of coagulate necrosis or lytic necrosis were noticed. It can be concluded that treating with TTX extracted from puffer fish, Lagocephalus sceleratus decreased the damaging effect of CCl4 on the liver of albino mice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Novel vanadium oxodiperoxocomplexes [CHN][VO(O)L]·2HO and [CHN] [VO(O)L]·2HO were synthesized, where L = pyridine ( 1), 2-methylpyridine ( 2) and 4-methylpyridine ( 3), using CTAB and 16-2-16 as cationic gemini surfactant. All complexes were characterized by H-NMR, IR spectroscopy, XRD, DSC-TGA analyses and TEM. The diesel fuel desulfurization catalyzed by vanadium peroxocomplexes in bi-phase system was investigated in various solvents. The complexes manifested high catalytic activity and selectivity in removal of sulfur compounds. This research aims to manufacture a special type of high softening waxy asphalt of penetration grade 60/70 to be used as a suitable binder in production of a hot mix asphalt (HMA) consisting of low quality aggregate (high absorptive type). This type of aggregate is found in Egypt on a large scale, especially in Sharkia governate. To achieve this aim, crude microcrystalline wax, which is characterized by its high congealing point, kinematic viscosity, and its low penetration, was mixed with the normal penetration grade asphalt 60/70 in percentage ranging from 2 to 6% by weight. The resultant asphalt samples were found to have high softening point ranging from 58°C to 75°C and penetration values within the current specifications. The produced waxy asphalt samples were used in preparing the HMA using the high absorptive aggregate. The mixes were evaluated using the Marshall method and tested for rutting resistance. The laboratory results show that the prepared mixes are suitable for use as a wearing or base course for the medium and low traffic roads. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The achievement of virological response in the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) can improve the extrahepatic manifestations. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of HCV eradication after sofosbuvir/daclatasvir (SOF/DCV) therapy on hematological and inflammatory biomarkers in type 2 diabetic patients infected with HCV genotype 4. Between October 2017 and August 2018, among 145 patients with HCV genotype 4, 30 patients were enrolled in the study based on the fact that they have type 2 diabetes. Enrolled HCV-diabetic patients were treated for 12 weeks with SOF/DCV regimen. Patients were screened by laboratory investigations before treatment (baseline values) and after HCV treatment (post-treatment values). Additionally, 30 healthy individuals were enrolled as a control group. Among the patient's cohort, the sustained virological response was achieved by 100% of the treated patients after 12 weeks of SOF/DCV therapy. Moreover, the levels of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), nitric oxide, interleukin-1β, red cell distribution width, platelet distribution width, mean platelet volume were improved significantly (P < 0.001) in treated patients after successful viral clearance compared to baseline values. In addition, virological clearance exhibited positive correlations with interleukin-1β, nitric oxide, leukocytes count, red cell distribution width, and mean platelet volume. In conclusion, the data suggest the potential amelioration effect of HCV eradication after treatment with SOF/DCV regimen on the inflammatory status among HCV-diabetic patients which is reflected by the noticeable improvement of altered hematological indices and inflammatory biomarkers.
