8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion; 406-408, In this work, we study the growth of Sb2Se3 deposited by thermal evaporation on different buffer layers for superstrate configuration thin film solar cells. A comparison between CdS which has been widely used as a buffer layer and CdSe is represented. Selenium vacancies in Sb2Se3 thin film act as recombination centers, and according to the literatures, applying an excessive amount of Se improve the application of solar cell. By using CdSe as a buffer layer, selenium could diffuse into the film and it is supposed to increase the efficiency. In our case both devices show the same efficiency of around 3.5% and higher Jsc for CdSe device. Also, morphology results indicate slightly higher crystal quality for CdSe/Sb2Se3 thin film and the solar cells perform almost the same degradation results.

8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion; 273-275, Our group fabricates and studies CdTe based solar cells deposited by thermal evaporation method at low substrate temperature (below 450 °C). In this paper we present and study CdSeTe/CdTe cells, where the CdSeTe compound is formed by evaporating in sequence a CdSe and a CdTe layer, subsequently mixed by a CdCl2 activation treatment. These devices, with an absorber thickness of only 2 µm, show current densities above 27 mA/cm2. Earlier we also introduced an innovative method to develop CdSeTe by treating a thin CdTe layer at high temperature in selenium atmosphere (selenization), which gets subsequently mixed with a thicker CdTe layer. We study the structure of the new devices completely manufactured by evaporation and we compare them with the samples fabricated by selenization. This reveals how the manufacturing method of the CdSeTe layer affects the device properties.

Subjects undergoing ostomy are increasing and share a reduced quality of life. The patient flow (PF) is the pathway of a patient from hospital admission to discharge and should provide care appropriateness to the patient himself. In the recent literature no paper exists regarding the PF of the patient undergoing (intestinal or urinary) ostomy, which is the objective of the present article. This paper stems from the work done during the Educational Camp entitled "The Patient Flow in Stoma Care," which took place on three separate days (27supth/supMay, 18supth/supSeptember, and 21supst/supNovember 2019) at B. Braun Milano S.p.A. and regarded 33 stomatherapy nurses from all over Italy supervised by the authors. The participants, divided into heterogeneous groups, developed the PF by means of three specific work methodologies: mental maps, timeline and appreciative inquiry. The elaborated PF was inspired to the International Charter of the Ostomates' Rights. The efficacious and empathic communication and the role of the patient and/or the caregiver as the main characters are transversal to every step and must be always pursued. The PF is developed in eight macro-areas: diagnosis; pre-admission; admission and preoperative phase; surgical operation; awakening; postoperative phase; discharge; follow-up. In agreement with the recent literature, this systematic approach will give benefits to the patients in terms of outcome and perception of taking charge before, during and after the ostomy. At the same time the performances, the therapeutic appropriateness, the optimization of technology and healthcare resources and the staff satisfaction will equally be guaranteed.

38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 375-377, The reboot after the global Covid-19 crisis will go through the investment of large economic resources around the world. To take advantage of the opportunity to improve the world situation, this money should be invested extensively for the technological and green energy revolution. Photovoltaics is nowadays a mature technology, capable of providing green energy at competitive prices compared to fossil fuels. Regarding manufacturing costs, CdTe thin film devices have a great advantage over traditional crystalline silicon cells, since they can be fabricated in a single production line. Furthermore, CdTe panels nowadays exceed an efficiency of 19 %, close to that of silicon technology. The efficiency improvement of the last few years is mainly due to the introduction of a CdSexTe1-x layer in the absorber. This reduces the band gap increasing the absorption in the long wavelength region. Moreover, it allows a better band alignment with wider band gap buffers, enabling the removal of the CdS window layer. In this work we study a SnO2/CdSexTe1-x/CdTe solar cell where the band gap grading of the absorber has been achieved through an innovative method: the selenization of the CdTe layer.

38th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 454-457, In this work CZTSSe absorber films were prepared by spin coating technique followed by selenization at optimized suitable condition. The structural properties and phase purity of the films were analyzed by XRD and Raman spectroscopy, surface morphology of the films was analyzed by SEM and AFM. Elemental composition was analyzed by energy dispersive x ray spectroscopy. Phase pure CZTSSe films with the required photovoltaic properties was obtained by selenizing the precursor films at 450 °C for 30 min with the optimal precursor drying condition. Prototype CZTSSe solar cell was fabricated and its performance were studied systematically. The highest device efficiency of 4.9% with Voc=321 mV, Jsc=30 mA/cm2 , and FF=51% was obtained for spin coated CZTSSe device. It was observed that precursor drying condition significantly influence the performance of devices.

BACKGROUND: Although adoptive transfer of CD19-directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells (CD19-CAR T-cells) achieves high rates of complete response in patients with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), relapse is common. Bone marrow (BM) mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (BM-MSC) are key components of the hematopoietic niche and are implicated in B-ALL pathogenesis and therapy resistance. MSC exert an immunosuppressive effect on T-cells; however, their impact on CD19-CAR T-cell activity is understudied. METHODS: We performed a detailed characterization of BM-MSC from pediatric patients with B-ALL (B-ALL BM-MSC), evaluated their immunomodulatory properties and their impact on CD19-CAR T-cell activity in vitro using microscopy, qRT-PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry analysis and in vivo using a preclinical model of severe colitis and a B-ALL xenograft model. RESULTS: While B-ALL BM-MSC were less proliferative than those from age-matched healthy donors (HD), the morphology, immunophenotype, differentiation potential and chemoprotection was very similar. Likewise, both BM-MSC populations were equally immunosuppressive in vitro and anti-inflammatory in an in vivo model of severe colitis. Interestingly, BM-MSC failed to impair CD19-CAR T-cell cytotoxicity or cytokine production in vitro using B-ALL cell lines and primary B-ALL cells. Finally, the growth of NALM6 cells was controlled in vivo by CD19-CAR T-cells irrespective of the absence/presence of BM-MSC. 37th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition; 691-694, CZTS absorber films were prepared by spin-coating technique and the effect of selenization temperature on the structural and morphological properties of the CZTSSe films were studied. After confirming the phase purity of the selenized CZTS films, precursor films were also annealed in different atmosphere including sulphur and selenium+sulphur with the optimized annealing temperature. The structural properties of the films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy; the surface morphology of the films was analyzed by atomic force microscopy. The phase purity was confirmed for the CZTS films annealed at 450°C in different atmosphere. A prototype CZTS solar cell was fabricated with spin-coated CZTS precursor film selenized at 450°C. The influence of light soaking on the films was also studied and observed an increase in device performance after 24hr light soaking. The highest device efficiency of 2.18% with Voc=212 mV, Jsc=35.1 mA/cm2 , and FF=33.4% was observed for CZTS films selenized at 450°C.

BACKGROUND: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a hematopoietic malignancy which is biologically, phenotypically and genetically very heterogeneous. Outcome of patients with AML remains dismal, highlighting the need for improved, less toxic therapies. Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CART) immunotherapies for patients with refractory or relapse (R/R) AML are challenging because of the absence of a universal pan-AML target antigen and the shared expression of target antigens with normal hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs), which may lead to life-threating on-target/off-tumor cytotoxicity. CD33-redirected and CD123-redirected CARTs for AML are in advanced preclinical and clinical development, and they exhibit robust antileukemic activity. However, preclinical and clinical controversy exists on whether such CARTs are myeloablative. METHODS: We set out to comparatively characterize in vitro and in vivo the efficacy and safety of 41BB-based and CD28-based CARCD123. We analyzed 97 diagnostic and relapse AML primary samples to investigate whether CD123 is a suitable immunotherapeutic target, and we used several xenograft models and in vitro assays to assess the myeloablative potential of our second-generation CD123 CARTs. RESULTS: Here, we show that CD123 represents a bona fide target for AML and show that both 41BB-based and CD28-based CD123 CARTs are very efficient in eliminating both AML cell lines and primary cells in vitro and in vivo. However, both 41BB-based and CD28-based CD123 CARTs ablate normal human hematopoiesis and prevent the establishment of de novo hematopoietic reconstitution by targeting both immature and myeloid HSPCs. CONCLUSIONS: This study calls for caution when clinically implementing CD123 CARTs, encouraging its preferential use as a bridge to allo-HSCT in patients with R/R AML.
