Quantum physics phenomena, entanglement and coherence, are crucial for quantum information protocols, but understanding these in systems with more than two parts is challenging due to increasing complexity. The W state, a multipartite entangled state, is notable for its robustness and benefits in quantum communication. Here, we generate an 8-mode on-demand single photon W states, using nanowire quantum dots and a silicon nitride photonic chip. We demonstrate a reliable, scalable technique for reconstructing W-state in photonic circuits using Fourier and real-space imaging, supported by the Gerchberg-Saxton phase retrieval algorithm. Additionally, we utilize an entanglement witness to distinguish between mixed and entangled states, thereby affirming the entangled nature of our generated state. The study provides a new imaging approach of assessing multipartite entanglement in W-states, paving the way for further progress in image processing and Fourier-space analysis techniques for complex quantum systems.

This study takes fly ash of a coal-fired power plant as the research object, the pulverized and activated fly ash was processed by ball milling process. The difference of physical and chemical properties of fly ash before and after pulverized and activated treatment and its influence mechanism on cement cementitious system were studied by a series of characterization analysis methods. The results show that pulverized fly ash activation significantly reduces the particle size of fly ash, increases its specific surface area, and decreases the crystallinity of crystal minerals and anionic polymerization degree of internal silicon aluminate substance in fly ash, thus reaching the deep activation effect of fly ash activity. Fly ash powder can promote the compressive strength of test block more than fly ash original ash, especially the early compressive strength of test block. The experimental results of water absorption and thermogravimetry show that the effect of fly ash powder on test block is mainly to improve the compactness of test block, reduce its porosity. At the same time, accelerating the secondary hydration reaction of cement is bound to produce more C–S–H gel, thus improving the mechanical properties of test block.

Although a few microRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in the regulation of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MI/RI), their exact roles in this process, and the mechanisms involved have not been fully elucidated. This study was carried out to investigate the protective effects of miR-34b and miR-337 against MI/RI. For this purpose, 56 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into two groups: sham operation group and myocardial MI/RI group, with 28 rats in each group. Then, a rat model of MI/RI was established. Changes in myocardial tissues of the two groups were determined using hematoxylin-Eosin (H&E) staining. Serum level of myocardial troponin c(TnT) was assayed with ELISA method, while myocardial tissue mRNA expressions of miR in the two groups was determined with qRT-PCR. Results showed that the rat model of MI/RI was successfully established, as was evident in myocardial cell necrosis, disorganized myocardial fibers, interstitial edema, and neutrophil infiltration. There were significant increases in serum troponin content and mRNA expression levels of miR-337 and miR-34b in tissues. In conclusion, the expression levels of miR-337 and miR-34b are increased in myocardial tissues of rats with MI/RI. Thus, miR-337 and miR-34b may be involved in the pathogenesis of MI/RI via regulation of NOX4 and Samd7, respectively. Finally, by using liposomal nanocarrier, the therapeutic effect of miR-337 and miR-34b on MI/RI was investigated.

Since the discovery of topological insulators, topological phases have generated considerable attention across the physics community. The superlattices in particular offer a rich system with several degrees of freedom to explore a variety of topological characteristics and control the localization of states. Albeit their importance, characterizing topological invariants in superlattices consisting of a multi-band structure is challenging beyond the basic case of two-bands as in the Su–Schreifer–Heeger model. Here, we experimentally demonstrate the direct measurement of the topological character of chiral superlattices with broken inversion symmetry. Using a CMOS-compatible nanophotonic chip, we probe the state evolving in the system along the propagation direction using novel nanoscattering structures. We employ a two-waveguide bulk excitation scheme to the superlattice, enabling the identification of topological zero-energy modes through measuring the beam displacement. Our measurements reveal quantized beam displacement corresponding to 0.088 and −0.245, in the cases of trivial and nontrivial photonic superlattices, respectively, showing good agreement with the theoretical values of 0 and −0.25. Our results provide direct identification of the quantized topological numbers in superlattices using a single-shot approach, paving the way for direct measurements of topological invariants in complex photonic structures using tailored excitations with Wannier functions.

Although percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) significantly improves the prognosis for myocardial infarction, the no-reflow phenomenon is still the major adverse complication of PCI leading to increased mortality, especially for the patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) combined with diabetes. To reduce the occurrence of no-reflow, prognostic factors must be identified for no-reflow phenomenon before PCI. A total of 262 participants with acute STEMI and diabetes were recruited into our cardiovascular center and underwent primary PCI for the analyses of prognostic factors of no-reflow. The patients were divided into two groups according to thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI): the normal flow and no-reflow groups, and related factors were analyzed with different statistical methods. In the present investigation, the in-hospital peak glycemia was significantly higher in the no-reflow group than the normal flow group, while more narrowed vessels, higher level of initial TIMI flow, were observed in the patients of the no-reflow group. A multivariate logistic regression analysis further demonstrated that peak glycemia was an independent predictor for no-reflow in the diabetic patients with STEMI. Our data indicated the importance of the proper control of glucose before PCI for the diabetic patients with STEMI before PCI to reduce the occurrence of the no-reflow after operation.

Background: The existing meta-analyses and randomized studies on comparing the effects of carvedilol and metoprolol are of poor quality, with small sample sizes, and involve a homogeneous population. Therefore, to provide new evidence-based medical evidence for clinical treatment, we undertook a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the mortality benefits of carvedilol with metoprolol head to head and determine the better beta-blocker in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) setting. Methods: Seven electronic databases including Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, Wanfang Data, Scopus, Science Direct, Cochrane Library will be searched in May 2021 by 2 independent reviewers. The protocol was written following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Protocols (PRISMA-P) statement guidelines. The primary outcome is all-cause mortality; secondary outcomes include complex cardiovascular events, sudden death, cardiovascular death, reinfarction, revascularization, readmission, ventricular arrhythmias, and drug withdrawal for all causes except death. BackgroundThe goal of this study was to review relevant case-control studies to determine the association of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) gene polymorphisms and coronary artery disease (CAD) susceptibility.MethodsUsing appropriate keywords, we identified relevant studies using PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, CNKI, VANFUN, and VIP. Key pertinent sources in the literature were also reviewed, and all articles published through April 2019 were considered for inclusion. Based on eligible studies, we performed a meta-analysis of association between 308G/A, 238G/A, 857C/T, 863C/A and 1031 T/C polymorphisms inTNF-αand risk of CAD.ResultsWe found 25 studies that were consistent with this meta-analysis, including 7697 patients in the CAD group and 9655 control patients.TNF-α308G/A locus A showed no significant association with CAD susceptibility by the five models in the analysis of the overall population, European, African, South Asian, and North Asian patients.TNF-α863C/A locus A and 1031 T/C locus C exhibited no significant association with CAD susceptibility.TNF-α238G/A locus A had no significant association with CAD susceptibility in the overall population. However,TNF-α238G/A locus A showed significant association with higher CAD susceptibility in the subgroup of Europeans and north Asians.TNF-α857C/T locus T had no significant association with CAD susceptibility in the analysis of the overall population and Europeans. In this paper, we introduce the swarm intelligence computation and its applications in power system. Because swarm intelligence does not need any precondition of centralized control and global model, it is very suitable to solve large scale power system nonlinear optimization problems which are hard to establish effective formalized models and difficult to be solved by traditional methods. In order to apply swarm intelligence better in power system, we propose two central research directions in the future: (1) The mathematical basis of swarm intelligence is unsubstantial and it lacks profound and pervasive theoretical analysis, so we must analysis its convergence and selection of parameters, especially the parameter selection of large scale power system optimization problems. (2) Because swarm intelligence is internally parallel, we should realize it based on the parallel computation theory. This work will also be helpful for the real-time need of power system.

As the plaques have enlarged, the changes in specific plaque compositions have not been sufficiently investigated. We evaluated the relation of plaque size to each plaque component (fibrotic, fibrofatty, dense calcium, and necrotic core) in 244 patients with volumetric virtual histology intravascular ultrasound analysis. Plaque volume was significantly correlated with fibrotic volume (r = 0.886, P necrotic core > fibrofatty > dense calcium). However, there were no significantly relevant correlations between plaque volume and percentage of each plaque component.

With fly ash, metakaolin, slag and alkaline activator as raw materials, the geopolymeric ceramic was synthesized and the properties, such as the weight loss, compressive strength and the structures, at high temperatures of 400~1200°C were measured. The weight loss is in the range of 8~13% from 400°C to 800°C. Comparing with the strength at room temperature, the compressive strength of samples is mostly increased at 400°C and all of them increased at 800°C. 9.65~28.32% strength declines at 1200°C. The variation of the compressive strength with temperature is explained based on the analyses of the phases constitutes and the thermal properties of samples.

Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is that delivering balloon catheter and/or equipment such as a stent to the target coronary artery bypass peripheral artery, at the same time, expanding and opening the stenosis of coronary artery. Through several decades of development, PCI has become a most effective way to rescue patients with coronary heart disease and become one of the biggest advances in the field of heart disease. Because of the development of PCI, more lives have been saved in patients with coronary heart disease. However, PCI does not meet the point of perfection, still has a lot of issues remain to be further resolved. Through a review the development of PCI, we may be able to get some insights to perfect the treatment technique for the patients of coronary heart disease.
