Based on different susceptibility models, the current study constructed a moderated mediation model to explore the influence of parenting style on college students' depressive symptoms. A total of 301 college students (74 boys and 227 girls) participated in this study. Subjective well-being played a mediating role in the effect of parenting style on depressive symptoms. The DRD2 Taq1A polymorphism moderated the direct pathway in the PPS (positive parenting style) model and the second half of the mediating pathway in the NPS (negative parenting style) model. This study provides an estimation and methodology update on previous paper that studies the effect of having a second major in undergraduate on future earnings. Using 2019 National Survey of College Graduates (NSCG) data and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method, I find that double majoring increases earnings by around 3% for the general population, and this earnings premium is more remarkable for people under the age of 40, which amounts to about 4%. While the proportion of double majors in the population drops from over 20% in 2003 to slightly above 13% in 2019, the returns to double majoring increase from around 2.5% since 2003. I also compare results from OLS regressions and PSM and argue that PSM can relax some of the parametric assumptions imposed by OLS regressions and hence reduce misspecification and extrapolation bias from OLS regressions, which previous literature on this topic relies on.

Using the differential susceptibility model, the present study examined how (mediator = Internet addiction) and when (moderator = 5-HTR1A gene rs6449693) did negative life events influence college students' depression. A total of 301 Chinese college students (mean age = 19.15 years, SD = 0.93) from southern China completed anonymous questionnaires (the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, the Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List, and the Chinese Version of the Internet Addiction Scale). Our findings revealed that negative life events, Internet addiction, and college students' depression were significantly and positively associated with each other. Internet addiction mediated the relationship between negative life events and college students' depression. Further, 5-HTR1A gene rs6449693 polymorphism moderated the relationship between negative life events and college students' depression; specifically, allele G is the susceptibility reason which is manifested, as depression scores of individuals with high level of allele G are significantly lower than those with low level allele A. Based on both positive psychology and the gene × environment research paradigm, the current study constructed a moderated mediation model to explore the relationship between childhood maltreatment and college students' depression symptoms. The sample comprised 301 college students (74 males and 227 females; average age = 19.15 ± 0.63 years of age, age range 17 to 20). The results indicated that: (1) Childhood maltreatment had a significant positive correlation with college students' depression symptoms, and subjective well-being had a significant negative correlation with childhood maltreatment and college students' depression symptoms; (2) Subjective well-being appeared to play a mediating role in the relationship between childhood maltreatment and college students' depression symptoms; (3) The MAOA gene rs6323 polymorphism moderated the indirect path from subjective well-being and college students' depression symptoms.

Based on ecological systems theory and the genetic and environmental research paradigm, the current study explored the effect of school interpersonal relationship quality (peer and teacher-student) on adolescent depression and the role of perceived stress and the OXTR gene. Based on the statistical power of previous G*E interaction studies, A follow-up survey was conducted with 603 Chinese adolescents (average age = 14.76 ± 0.72 years at the time of the initial measurement; range: 13 to 15) using a questionnaire method (Short Form of the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, The Chinese version of Perceived Stress Scale, short form of Friendship Quality Questionnaire and Teacher-student Relationship) and DNA typing technique. The study found that (1) school interpersonal relationship quality influenced adolescent depression; (2) perceived stress fully mediated the relationship between school interpersonal relationship quality and adolescent depression; (3) the OXTR gene rs2254298 and rs53576 polymorphisms moderated both the direct pathway and the second half of the indirect pathway. Specifically, individuals carrying the rs2254298 polymorphism A/G genotype and the rs53576 polymorphism A genotype exhibited a significantly enhanced effect of interpersonal relationship quality and perceived stress on adolescent depression, supporting the differential susceptibility model. Ultrathin halide perovskites have drawn tremendous attention in nano‐/micro‐optoelectronic devices due to their fascinating performance and capability for chip integration. Unfortunately, it is highly challenging to obtain large‐scale and chronically stable ultrathin halide perovskites for practical application. Herein, the universal low‐temperature vapor‐phase synthesis of ultrathin perovskite family materials with thickness down to 2D level and lateral size up to 1.5 cm × 1.5 cm is reported by developing a self‐limiting chemical vapor deposition strategy. The perovskite products are found to exhibit superior stability over 180 days under an air environment. The resultant photodetectors demonstrate charming optoelectronic properties such as superior responsivity (3.7 × 103 A W−1), ultrafast response time (<10 µs), and outstanding low‐level light image sensing capability. Background: Based on the gene-environment interaction paradigm, this study explored the effect of peer relationships on adolescent loneliness and the role of psychological resilience and the oxytocin receptor gene (OXTR). Methods: A survey was conducted in a sample of 619 adolescents, and their oral cells were collected for DNA extraction and genotyping. Results: The results showed that (1) both peer relationships and psychological resilience significantly affected adolescent loneliness; (2) psychological resilience partially mediated the relationship between peer relationships and loneliness in adolescents; (3) OXTR gene rs53576 polymorphism moderated both the first and second half of the indirect pathway of the mediation model. Specifically, carriers of the rs53576 polymorphism A/A genotype showed a significantly enhanced effect of peer relationships on adolescent psychological resilience, while carriers of the rs53576 polymorphism G/G genotype showed a significantly enhanced effect of psychological resilience on adolescent loneliness. Conclusion: These findings helped elucidate the developmental mechanisms of adolescent loneliness in terms of peer relationships, psychological resilience, and OXTR gene polymorphisms. Captured by the remarkable environmental/economic value, recycling spent LiFePO4 has attracted numerous attention. However, restricted by diverse failure mechanisms and different particle‐sizes/active‐sites, recycling strategies still suffer from uneven repairing results and poor accessibility. For promoting their application in commercial systems, the uniform physical‐chemical properties are urgent for regenerated samples. Herein, by tailoring oxidation‐reduction manners, the homogeneous cathode materials can be prepared, displaying uniform particle size and restored lattice. The capacity of as‐optimized samples can be kept ≈141.5 mAh g−1 at 1.0 C, and 137 mAh g−1 with a retention of 92% after 300 cycles at 2.0 C. After Kg‐scale experiments, the pouch full‐cell (LFP‐500 vs recovered graphite) delivers ≈4200 mAh capacity, with considerable cycling stability (retention 96.83%, after 500 loops). Importantly, the detailed mechanism of oxidation/reduction‐conditions is investigated, especially their lattice reconstitution and ions‐ diffusion behaviors. Supported by kinetic analysis and DFT calculations, the fascinating stability of LFP‐500 is further proved, mainly derived from the accelerated Li‐diffusion behaviors. Compared to traditional recovering manners, oxidation/reduction process displays low cost, energy‐consumption, and pollution, accompanied with considerable large‐scale application potential. Given this, this work is anticipated to illustrate the in‐depth mechanism of lattice‐reconstruction, while offering significant strategies for large‐scale and homogenized regeneration. Background: This study is based on the biosocial model of nonsuicidal self‐injury (NSSI), to explore the effects of cumulative ecological risk on adolescents' NSSI, the mediating effect of depression between cumulative ecological risk and adolescents' NSSI, and the moderating role of impulsiveness in this mediating pathway. Methods: A total of 16 508 adolescents, with 7903 males (47.9%), participated in the study and completed the Cumulative Ecological Risk Questionnaire, the Short Form of the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, the Impulsiveness assessment, and the Nonsuicidal Self‐Injury Scale. Results: (1) There was a significant positive correlation between cumulative ecological risk, depression, impulsiveness, and NSSI; (2) cumulative ecological risk significantly predicted adolescents' NSSI; (3) depression had a mediating effect between cumulative ecological risk and adolescents' NSSI; and (4) impulsiveness moderated both the effects of cumulative ecological risk on adolescents' depression and NSSI and the effects of depression on NSSI in adolescents. Conclusions: Impulsiveness and depression are risk factors for adolescent NSSI and play a crucial role between cumulative ecological risk and NSSI in adolescents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
