Purpose: To evaluate surgical treatment of symptomatic non-union of lateral condylar elbow fractures in adults.Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, 11 consecutive adult patients were surgically treated for symptomatic non-union of the lateral humeral condyle. Milch type I fracture non-unions (n = 3) were treated with medial closing wedge osteotomy and ulnar nerve transposition, while type II equivalents (n = 8) were treated with non-union fixation and bone grafting. Age at injury, age at referral, pre-operative symptoms, and pre-operative functional data (Modified An and Morrey functional rating index) were collected.Results: Eleven patients (average age 20 years old) with varying symptoms attributable to non-union were surgically treated at a mean of 15.8 years following the initial fracture. Post-operative complications included one superficial infection and 17one radial nerve temporary neuropraxia. Pain, ulnar neuritis, and functional outcomes (Modified An and Morrey, mean 7.1 point improvement) improved significantly. However, the combined range of motion decreased by a mean of 11.4°.Conclusion: Our treatment algorithm for adults with chronic neglected and symptomatic non-union of the lateral humeral condyle improved functional outcomes in this cohort. • Big data was applied to analyze the public attitudes toward ride-hailing services in terms of trend lines and significant events. • LDA topic model and text network analysis revealed the specific evolution in each significant event. • Platform and Safety are constant public concerns. • The public has a prejudice against ride-hailing services related to the media's publicity. • Gender discrimination against females in ride-hailing events. Despite the global popularity of ride-hailing services, frequent events in recent years have caused the public to query and even refuse to adopt ride-hailing. The public's attitudes are the decisive factor affecting ride-hailing development. Previous studies identified the public's attitude toward ride-hailing at a one-time point through questionnaire design without monitoring changes in the public's attitude. This study aims to analyze the evolution and reasons for the public's attitudes toward ride-hailing in terms of trend lines and significant events. We collected 114,361 comments across social media platforms (Sina Weibo and Tik Tok) on Chinese ride-hailing events from May 2018 to September 2021. Through sentiment analysis to investigate the evolution of the public's attitudes toward ride-hailing, we identified four significant events that led to significant changes in public attitudes. We then employed Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic model and text network analysis to examine the comments in these significant events to understand the exact reasons for the change in attitudes. The results indicate that the public's attitude variations are closely linked with social events. Meanwhile, among all topics, Platform and Safety are constant public concerns. Other topics (e.g., Publicity , Government , and Pity) of public concern are related to significant events. The gap between perceived and actual security toward ride-hailing services seems to exist. Abstract: The receptor-binding domain (RBD) on spike protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) is the main region interacting with the viral receptor-ACE2 and is a useful target for induction of neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV infection. Here we generated two monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), targeting RBD, with marked virus neutralizing activity. The mAbs recognize a new conformational epitope which consists of several discontinuous peptides (aa. 343–367, 373–390 and 411–428) and is spatially located neighboring the receptor-binding motif (RPM) region of the RBD. Importantly, W423 and N424 residues are essential for mAb recognition and are highly conserved among 107 different strains of SARS, indicating that the residues are the most critical in the epitope which is a novel potential target for therapeutic mAbs. A human–mouse chimeric antibody, based upon the original murine mAb, was also constructed and shown to possess good neutralizing activity and high affinity. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
