Chlorination is considered an appealing strategy aimed at improving the optoelectronic properties, reducing aggregation and thus enhancing device performance due to a low synthetic cost, a large C–Cl dipole moment and high π-electron delocalization originating from an empty 3d orbital. To broaden the structural multiplicity of chlorinated conjugated polymers (CPs), herein, three monochlorinated benzothiadiazole-based medium bandgap (MBG) polymer donors, PClBDT-ClBT, PClBDT-TClBT, and PClBDT-DTClBT, were developed by varying the octylthiophene π bridge number between chlorinated benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]dithiophene (ClBDT) and 5-chlorobenzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole (ClBT). Increasing the octylthiophene π bridge number led to a blue-shifted maximum absorption peak, a reduced bandgap, a slightly elevated absorption coefficient, raised EHOMO, weakened molecular aggregation and a dominant face-on molecular orientation. As expected, importing an octylthiophene π bridge impaired the VOC but gave rise to a suitable microstructural morphology, appropriate miscibility and an improved photophysical process. Therefore, the PClBDT-ClBT-based device exhibited a low PCE of only 1.42%, limited by low JSC and FF. Meanwhile, the PClBDT-TClBT-based device afforded a VOC of 0.87 V, a JSC of 22.45 mA cm−2, and a FF of 59.21% when paired with Y6, collectively contributing to the outstanding PCE as high as 11.52%. However, the PClBDT-DTClBT-based device gave a decreased VOC of 0.81 V and a JSC of 18.57 mA cm−2, but a higher FF of 62.99%, resulting in a decreased PCE of 9.48%. To the best of our knowledge, 11.52% efficiency is the highest PCE recorded among those of the chlorinated BT-based CPs in binary organic solar cells so far. Our findings facilitate a better understanding of the structure–property–performance relationship for precisely tuning the conjugated π bridge which could effectively affect the energy level, microstructure, photophysical procedure, and thus boost the photovoltaic performance. The hormone auxin is involved in many biological processes throughout a plant's lifecycle. However, genes in the GH3 (Gretchen Hagen3) family, one of the three major auxin-responsive gene families, have not yet been identified in oilseed rape (Brassica napus). In this study, we identified 63 BnaGH3 genes in oilseed rape using homology searches. We analyzed the chromosome locations, gene structures, and phylogenetic relationships of the BnaGH3 genes, as well as the cis-elements in their promoters. Most BnaGH3 genes are located on chromosomes A03, A09, C02, C03, and C09, each with 4-7 members. In addition, we analyzed the expression patterns of BnaGH3 genes in seven tissues by transcriptome sequencing and quantitative RT-PCR analysis of plants under exogenous IAA treatment. The BnaGH3 genes showed different expression patterns in various tissues. BnaA.GH3.2-1 and BnaC.GH3.2-1 were expressed in the seed and seed coat during development and in response to IAA treatment. These results shed light on the possible roles of the GH3 gene family in oilseed rape. Key words: GH3, Brassica napus, expression analysis, auxin, stress response. L'auxine est une hormone impliquee dans plusieurs processus biologiques tout au long du cycle de vie d'une plante. Cependant, aucun gene GH3 (Gretchen Hagen3), une des trois principales familles de genes reagissant aux auxines, n'a encore ete identifie chez le colza (Brassica napus). Dans ce travail, les auteurs ont identifie 63 genes BnaGH3 sur la base de l'homologie. Les auteurs ont determine la position chromosomique, la structure genique et les relations phylogeniques entre ces genes ainsi que les elements cis dans leurs promoteurs. La plupart des genes BnaGH3 etaient situes sur les chromosomes A03, A09, C02, C03 et C09, chacun de ceux-ci comptant 4 a 7 membres. De plus, les auteurs ont analyse l'expression des genes BnaGH3 chez sept tissus par sequencage du transcriptome et par analyse RT-PCR quantitative de plantes exposees a un traitement a l'AIA exogene. Les genes BnaGH3 presentaient des expressions variees au sein des differents tissus. BnaA.GH3.2-1et BnaCGH3.2-1 etaient tous deux exprimes chez la graine et le tegument au cours de developpement et en reponse au traitement a l'AIA. Ces resultats jettent un eclairage sur les roles possibles des membres de la famille de genes GH3 chez le colza.
