Abstract

The conversion of Methyl 3‐hydroxypropionate (3‐HPM) to 1,3‐propanediol (1, 3‐PDO) is an important step in the pathway towards the longterm sustainable production of the ethylene oxide hydroesterification. However, 3‐HPM is prone to side reactions like hydroxyl β‐dehydration and low reaction efficiency, which hinders its development. This study presents the first‐ever report on highly efficient gallium‐promoted Cu/SiO2 catalysts prepared using ethanol‐assisted ammonia‐evaporation (Et‐AE) for converting 3‐HPM to 1,3‐PDO. The prepared Cu‐1Ga/SiO2 catalyst exhibited satisfactory catalytic activity and 1,3‐PDO selectivity in the hydrogenation reaction, with a conversion of 3‐HPM of 94 % and a selectivity to 1,3‐PDO of 91 %. The characterisation results show that the addition of Ga increases the specific surface area and the pore volume of the catalyst, and also increases the dispersion of the Cu species. And the promotional effect likely originates from interactions between Ga3+ and Cu0 species though enhanced ability of the latter to activate H2. In addition, the introduction of Ga into the catalyst increases the interaction between Cu and the support, making it more difficult for Cu+ to be completely reduced to Cu0. This increases the content of Cu+ in the catalyst, which is beneficial for improving the activity and stability of the catalyst. Abstract

Real-time bus travel time is crucial for the smart public transportation system and is beneficial for improving user satisfaction for online map services. However, it faces great challenges due to fine-grained spatial dependencies and dynamic temporal dependencies. To address the above problem, we propose GBTTE, a novel end-to-end graph attention network framework to estimate bus travel time. Specifically, we construct a novel graph structure of bus routes and use a graph attention network to capture the fine-grained spatial features of bus routes. Then, we fully exploit the joint spatial-temporal relations of bus stops through a spatial-temporal graph attention network and also capture the dynamic correlation between the route and the bus transportation network with a cross graph attention network. Finally, we integrate the route representation, the spatial-temporal representation and contextual information to estimate bus travel time. Extensive experiments carried out on two large-scale real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of GBTTE. 27. Catalytic performance of La-modified Cu/SiO2in the hydrogenation of methyl acetate

Abstract

A series of Cu/SiO2catalysts modified with lanthanum (La) (30Cu-nLa/SiO2, n=0, 0.5, 1 and 2) were synthesized using the ethanol (EtOH)-assisted ammonia-evaporation method; their catalytic performance in the gas-phase hydrogenation of methyl acetate (MeOAc) to produce ethanol (EtOH) was investigated. The results indicate that the catalytic performance of Cu/SiO2can be greatly enhanced by La modification. In particular, the 30Cu-0.5La/SiO2catalyst exhibits excellent performance in the MeOAc hydrogenation; under 230 °C, 2 MPa H2, an LHSV of 2 h-1and an H2/MeOAc molar ratio of 20, the MeOAc conversion reaches 98.5%, with a total EtOH yield of 97.0%. The N2-sorption, XRD, ICP-OES, H2-TPR, FT-IR, TEM, XPS, and AES characterization results reveal that the introduced La metal has a strong interaction with Cu, which can promote the dispersion of the copper species on the SiO2support. Moreover, the content of Cu+is increased significantly, which can enhance the electronic interaction with MeOAc via the acyl and methoxide groups and thus promote the hydrogenation of MeOAc to EtOH.

32. Du-Bus: A Realtime Bus Waiting Time Estimation System Based On Multi-Source Data

Abstract

Realtime bus waiting time information is of great importance to the intelligent public transportation system and is beneficial for improving user satisfaction by online map services. While there are limited realtime bus waiting time services in a city, because of the expensive cost of sensor deployment and sophisticated traffic conditions. To address the above problem, we propose Du-Bus, a multi-source data fusion based system, which estimates the realtime bus waiting time based on approximating the realtime locations of buses without GPS sensors, by a variety of urban datasets, including historical bus trip data reported by a limited number of GPS equipped buses, transportation network data, traffic condition data, user mobility data, and temporal data. Du-Bus approximates the realtime locations of buses without GPS sensors by jointly modeling the bus timetable and the bus realtime travel time, which can be estimated by a variety of data sources. Specifically, we first propose a BiLSTM based end-to-end model for each bus route to estimate the bus departure interval and generate the corresponding departure timetable. Then, we estimate the travel time for each individual bus via a deep neural network component by incorporating the traffic conditions, geolocation, and map query information. Finally, we estimate the bus waiting time for arbitrary stations in the city by jointly modeling the estimated bus departure timetable and travel time. We evaluate our system on two real-world datasets, and the results verify the effectiveness of Du-Bus compared with historical average based and headway based methods. Since early 2019, Du-Bus has been deployed on Baidu Maps, one of the world’s largest map services, servicing over 20 major cities in China.

Abstract

The enzyme strictosidine synthase (STR, EC: 4.3.3.2) plays a key role in the biosynthetic pathway of terpenoid indole alkaloid (TIA). It catalyzes the condensation of the tryptamine and secologanin to form 3α(S)-strictosidine, which is the common precursor of all TIAs. In this paper, a STR gene designated as DoSTR (GenBank: KX068707) was first cloned and characterized from Dendrobium officinale with rapid amplified cDNA ends method (RACE). DoSTR has a length of 1380bp with 1179bp open reading frame encoding 392 amino acids. BlastP analyses showed that its amino acid sequence was classified into Str_synth superfamily. qRT-PCR showed that DoSTR was expressed in all tissues tested, with a significantly higher level in flower and the lowest in stem. Four different treatments with MeJA, SA, ABA and AgNO3, respectively, could induce the DoSTR expression to a different extent. And the effect of MeJA was the most obvious and transcript level of DoSTR induced by MeJA was 20.7 times greater than that of control at 48 hours after treatment. Furthermore, it was found that DoSTR was localized in vacuole through transient expression in tobacco. The characterization and expression of DoSTR can help in further studying the role of DoSTR in the biosynthesis of TIAs in D. officinale. This study may throw light on the alkaloid biosynthesis pathway of D. officinale.

In addition, mrCIM and reCIM were prospectively evaluated with 47 carbapenem-resistant enterobacterial isolates.Results: The sensitivity and specificity of mrCIM were 96.3% and 97.1% at 2.5 hrs post incubation, and the specificity increased to 98.6% at 3 hrs. The combined mrCIM and reCIM showed a sensitivity of 95.4% and a specificity of 100% at 2.5 hrs post incubation in identifying metallo-β-lactamases, and the sensitivity increased to 97.0% at 3 hrs. These performance characteristics are comparable to mCIM and eCIM; however, compared with mCIM and reCIM tests which need at least 24 hrs to detect results, the mrCIM and reCIM required less than 4 hrs of total work time.Conclusion: The combined mrCIM and reCIM can be used to accurately and quickly detect carbapenemase and metallo-β-lactamases in Enterobacteriaceae in 4 hrs and are suitable for routine use in most clinical microbiology laboratories.Keywords: modified rapid carbapenem inactivation method, rapid EDTA-modified carbapenem inactivation method, metallo-carbapenemase, Enterobacteriaceae, detection
