Abstract

The relativistic continuum random phase approximation (RCRPA) is applied to describe the properties of isovector giant dipole resonances (IVGDR) in 208 Pb and 132 Sn with NL3 effective interaction. We analyze the strength distribution, various sum rules, centroid energies and the integral photoabsorption cross sections of the pygmy dipole resonance (PDR) and giant dipole resonance (GDR), the results are compared to the values obtained by discretized RRPA and available experimental data. Difference between the results obtained by RRPA and RCRPA is found, which may due to the different ways in treating the contribution of continuum. The calculated centroid energies of GDR can reproduce the experimental data well for 208 Pb and 132 Sn. A better agreement with photoabsorption cross section data is obtained for 132 Sn in the RCRPA calculation. By correlating the excitation energy (the electric dipole polarizability) of GDR to the nuclear matter properties, we could constrain the density dependence of symmetry energy. The deduced nuclear symmetry energy is located in the range 30.3–36.5 MeV (30.8–32.8 MeV), and the slope parameter L essentially covers the range of 40.1–106.1 MeV (40.0–63.0 MeV) at the saturation density. Abstract

Four new alkaloids (1 − 4), together with five known ones (5 − 9), were isolated from the bulbs of Dactylicapnos scandens. The structures were determined by analysis of their spectroscopic data and quantum-chemical calculations. All the isolates were tested for their ability to modulate neuronal Ca2+ mobilization in primary cultured neocortical neurons. Abstract

The regulatory mechanism of mammary gland development and lactation is important, as lactation not only provides healthy milk for infants, but also provides health benefits to mothers. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have recently received much attention, but only a few have been functionally characterized. In the present study, the structure and expression profile of a rat Tc2n-derived circular RNA (cTc2n) was investigated by several protocols. The cTc2n comprised exons10 and 11 of the Tc2ngeneandhad no poly(A)structure. The expression of cTc2n was significantly higher in the mammary gland of rat than in other tissues, including the heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, uterus and ovary. The abundance of cTc2n was the highest on day 1, and significantly declined on day 7, slightly increasing on day 21 postpartum. This finding indicates that cTc2n might play an important role in lactation.

Abstract

In this study, we firstly investigate the effect of Chinese herbal compound (CHC) on rat breast hyperplasia (RBH) .Only the evidence from eligible case-controlled study (CCS) will be considered for inclusion. Methodological quality of all included studies will be assessed by two authors, respectively. The interpretation of their methodological quality should take their study designs into account. The contribution of this study is to provide evidence on both external validity of those study results and its usage to the clinical practice.

Abstract

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from Inner Mongolian traditional yoghurt were evaluated for the production of exopolysaccharides (EPS) by phenol-sulphuric acid method after ethanol precipitation and dialysis. Total polysaccharide was extracted from sucrose-containing MRS broth cultures of the selected LAB strains. Comparison of the EPS yields revealed that among tested LAB, strain 37 exhibited the highest production of 536.904 mg/L. The strain was identified as Leuconostoc citreum with carbohydrate assimilation profiling, 16S rRNA and pheS gene sequencing. The Ln. citreum 37 was found to be a novel EPS producing strain. It was found that there was no direct linear relation between the colony size and EPS yield, so the colony size could not to be used to screen EPS-producing strains.
