Item does not contain fulltext, In today's digital world, people leave countless digital traces online. Companies, governments, and other parties can use such data for different purposes. Personalized advertisements or content that are clearly based on their previous behavior can make consumers feel that they are being followed or monitored, and might describe it as "creepy" and that they feel "watched". Drawing upon a nationally representative sample of the Netherlands (N = 1,994), this study aims to shed light on individuals' perceptions of surveillance by identifying the perceived sources, purposes, and how it might differ in different media technologies among Dutch adults. Such knowledge can inform us which practices and contexts tend to trigger perceived surveillance. Moreover, we investigate the extent to which certain individual traits, including privacy concerns, technology trust, conspiracy mentality, and socio-demographic characteristics, relate to perceived surveillance. Our findings show that advertisers are the most commonly perceived source of surveillance and advertising is also the most commonly perceived purpose of surveillance. Perceived surveillance is the highest when people are using social media and web browsers comparing to other digital devices and services. Furthermore, privacy concerns and conspiracy mentality are positively related to perceived surveillance of all types of technologies. Finally, people who are younger and more highly educated perceive more surveillance when using social media, and younger people also feel more surveilled when using web browser.

Aims The aim of this study was to develop, validate, and illustrate an updated prediction model (SCORE2) to estimate 10-year fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in individuals without previous CVD or diabetes aged 40-69 years in Europe.Methods and results We derived risk prediction models using individual-participant data from 45 cohorts in 13 countries (677 684 individuals, 30 121 CVD events). We used sex-specific and competing risk-adjusted models, including age, smoking status, systolic blood pressure, and total- and HDL-cholesterol. We defined four risk regions in Europe according to country-specific CVD mortality, recalibrating models to each region using expected incidences and risk factor distributions. Region-specific incidence was estimated using CVD mortality and incidence data on 10 776 466 individuals. For external validation, we analysed data from 25 additional cohorts in 15 European countries (1 133 181 individuals, 43 492 CVD events). After applying the derived risk prediction models to external validation cohorts, C-indices ranged from 0.67 (0.65-0.68) to 0.81 (0.76-0.86). Predicted CVD risk varied several-fold across European regions. For example, the estimated 10-year CVD risk for a 50-year-old smoker, with a systolic blood pressure of 140 mmHg, total cholesterol of 5.5 mmol/L, and HDL-cholesterol of 1.3 mmol/L, ranged from 5.9% for men in low- risk countries to 14.0% for men in very high-risk countries, and from 4.2% for women in low-risk countries to 13.7% for women in very high-risk countries.Conclusion SCORE2-a new algorithm derived, calibrated, and validated to predict 10-year risk of first-onset CVD in European populations-enhances the identification of individuals at higher risk of developing CVD across Europe. 30. Myc binding protein 2 suppresses M2‐like phenotypes in macrophages during zymosan‐induced inflammation in mice

- Abstract
MYCBP2 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase, which is well characterized as a key element in the inhibition of neuronal growth, synapse formation and synaptic strength by regulating several signaling pathways. Although MYCBP2 was suspected to be expressed also in immune cells, to date nothing is known about its role in inflammation. We used Multi‐epitope ligand cartography (MELC), a method for multiple sequential immunohistology, to show that MYCBP2 is strongly expressed in monocyte‐derived macrophages during zymosan‐induced inflammation. We generated a myeloid‐specific knockout mouse and found that loss of MYCBP2 in myeloid cells reduced nociceptive (painful) behavior during the resolution phase (1-3 days after zymosan injection). Quantitative MELC analyses and flow cytometric analysis showed an increased number of CD206‐expressing macrophages in the inflamed paw tissue. Fittingly, CD206 and arginase 1 expression was upregulated in MYCBP2‐deficient bone marrow‐derived macrophages after polarization with IL10 or IL4. The regulation of protein expression in these macrophages by MYCBP2 varied depending on the polarization signal. The increased IL10‐induced CD206 expression in MYCBP2‐deficient macrophages was mediated by p38 MAPK, while IL4‐induced CD206 expression in MYCBP2‐deficient macrophages was mediated by protein kinase A.

Experiments on the uniform distribution of carbon nanotubes in the copper matrix using different ball milling methods were performed. The effect of different preparation processes for carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced copper matrix composites on their conductivity and mechanical properties was also analyzed. High-performance carbon nanotube-reinforced copper matrix composites containing 1 vol.% CNT by the best preparation process termed flake ball milling (FBM) possess good interface bonding strength not only with CNT evenly dispersed in the copper matrix but also with the CNT morphology and structure having the utmost integrity. Tensile strength increased by 30% with an elongation of 26% and electrical conductivity of 85% IACS as compared to a pure copper block prepared from the same FBM powders. Выполнены эксперименты по оценке равномерности распределения углеродных нанотрубок в медной матрице с использованием разных методов размола в шаровой мельнице. Проанализировано влияние различных методов изготовления композиционных материалов с медной матрицей, упрочненных углеродными нанотрубками, на их электропроводность и механические свойства. Высококачественные композиционные материалы (содержат 1 об.% углеродных нанотрубок), изготовляемые наиболее эффективным способом, получившим навание размол в шаровой мельнице для придания пластинчатой структуры , приобретают хорошую прочность сцепления на поверхности контакта не только при равномерном распределении углеродных нанотрубок в медной матрице, но и при максимальной целостности их морфологии и структуры. Предел прочности при растяжении возрастал на 30% при удлинении 26% и электропроводности 85% по стандарту IACS по сравнению с заготовкой из чистой меди, изготовленной из тех же пластинчатых порошков.

- Abstract
Prostacyclin synthesized at the sites of nerve injuries regulates the accumulation of resident macrophages. These cells express IL1v, which supports the development of neuropathic pain. ABSTRACT: Prostacyclin is an important mediator of peripheral pain sensation. Here, we investigated its potential participation in mediating neuropathic pain and found that prostacyclin receptor (IP) knockout mice exhibited markedly decreased pain behavior. Application of an IP antagonist to the injury site or selective IP deficiency in myeloid cells mimicked the antinociceptive effect observed in IP knockout mice. At the site of nerve injury, IP was expressed in interleukin (IL) 1v‐containing resident macrophages, which were less common in IP knockout mice. Local administration of the IP agonist cicaprost inhibited macrophage migration in vitro and promoted accumulation of IP‐ and IL1v‐expressing cells as well as an increase of IL1v concentrations at the application site in vivo. Fittingly, the IL1‐receptor antagonist anakinra (IL‐1ra) decreased neuropathic pain behavior in wild‐type mice but not in IP knockout mice. Finally, continuous, but not single administration, of the cyclooxygenase inhibitor meloxicam early after nerve injury decreased pain behavior and the number of resident macrophages. Thus, early synthesis of prostacyclin at the site of injury causes accumulation of IL1v‐expressing macrophages as a key step in neuropathic pain after traumatic injury.
