We develop a theoretical framework to describe how zero-photon detection may be utilized to enhance laser cooling via the anti-Stokes interaction and, somewhat surprisingly, enable cooling via the Stokes interaction commonly associated with heating. Our description includes both pulsed and continuous measurements as well as optical detection efficiency and open-system dynamics. For both cases, we discuss how the cooling depends on the system parameters such as detection efficiency and optomechanical cooperativity, and we study the continuous-measurement-induced dynamics, contrasting to single-photon detection events. For the Stokes case, we explore the interplay between cooling and heating via optomechanical parametric amplification, and we find the efficiency required to cool a mechanical oscillator via zero-photon detection. This work serves as a companion article to the recent experiment [E. A. Cryer-Jenkins, K. D. Major, et al., arXiv:2408.01734 (2024)], which demonstrated enhanced laser cooling of a mechanical oscillator via zero-photon detection on the anti-Stokes signal. Throughout quantum science and technology, measurement is used as a powerful resource for nonlinear operations and quantum state engineering. In particular, single-photon detection is commonly employed for quantum-information applications and tests of fundamental physics. By contrast, and perhaps counter-intuitively, measurement of the absence of photons also provides useful information, and offers significant potential for a wide range of new experimental directions. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate cooling of a mechanical resonator below its laser-cooled mechanical occupation via zero-photon detection on the anti-Stokes scattered optical field and verify this cooling through heterodyne measurements. Our measurements are well captured by a stochastic master equation and the techniques introduced here open new avenues for cooling, quantum thermodynamics, quantum state engineering, and quantum measurement and control., Comment: Main: 5 pages, 2 figures. In recent decades, there has been a persistent pursuit of applications for surface/edge states in topological systems, driven by their dissipationless transport effects. However, there have been limited tangible breakthroughs in this field. This work demonstrates the remarkable properties of the topological insulator Ta2Pd3Te5, as a thermometer. This material exhibits a power-law correlation in temperature-dependent resistance at low temperatures, stemming from its Luttinger liquid behavior of edge states, while exhibiting semiconductor behavior at high temperatures. The power-law behavior effectively addresses the issue of infinite resistance in semiconductor thermometers at ultra-low temperatures, thereby playing a crucial role in enabling efficient thermometry in refrigerators supporting millikelvin temperatures or below. By employing chemical doping, adjusting thickness, and controlling gate voltage, its power-law behavior and semiconductor behavior can be effectively modulated. This enables efficient thermometry spanning from millikelvin temperatures to room temperature, and allows for precise local temperature measurement. Furthermore, this thermometer exhibits excellent temperature sensitivity and resolution, and can be fine-tuned to show small magnetoresistance. In summary, the Ta2Pd3Te5 thermometer, also referred to as a topological thermometer, exhibits outstanding performance and significant potential for measuring a wider range of temperatures compared to conventional low-temperature thermometers., Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures

The exploration of van der Waals (vdWs) magnetic materials has sparked great interest in spintronics. However, conventional methods often face challenges in characterizing the magnetic properties of small-sized vdWs materials, especially for antiferromagnets with extremely small magnetic moments. Here, we demonstrate the efficacy of dynamic cantilever magnetometry (DCM) in characterizing the magnetic properties of vdWs magnets, using an antiferromagnetic semiconductor CrPS4. We observe continuous spin axis rotation under a magnetic field, accurately modelled by considering the existance of marked magnetic anisotropies. Furthermore, the dominance of out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy in spin reorientation behavior at low temperatures transitions to the prevalence of in-plane anisotropy with increasing temperature, leading to a sign reversal of the frequency shift in measurements. The peculiar magnetic phase transitions make CrPS4 an intriguing platform for studying two-dimensional magnetism. Our findings underscore the effectiveness of DCM in characterizing magnetic anisotropies and phase transitions in vdWs magnets.

The Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit sets the lower bound of carrier mean free path for coherent quasiparticle transport. Metallicity beyond this limit is of great interest because it is often closely related to quantum criticality and unconventional superconductivity. Progress along this direction mainly focuses on the strange-metal behaviors originating from the evolution of quasiparticle scattering rate such as linear-in-temperature resistivity, while the quasiparticle coherence phenomena in this regime are much less explored due to the short mean free path at the diffusive bound. Here we report the observation of quantum oscillations from Landau quantization near the Mott-Ioffe-Regel limit in CaAs3. Despite the insulator-like temperature dependence of resistivity, CaAs3 presents giant magnetoresistance and prominent Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations from Fermi surfaces, indicating highly coherent band transport. In contrast, the quantum oscillation is absent in the magnetic torque. The quasiparticle effective mass increases systematically with magnetic fields, manifesting a much larger value than the expectation given by magneto-infrared spectroscopy. It suggests a strong many-body renormalization effect near Fermi surface. We find that these unconventional behaviors may be explained by the interplay between the mobility edge and the van Hove singularity, which results in the formation of coherent cyclotron orbits emerging at the diffusive bound. The antiferromagnetic kagome lattice compound FeGe has been revealed to host an emergent charge-density-wave (CDW) state which manifests complex interplay between the spin, charge and lattice degrees of freedom. Here, we present a comprehensive study of the de Haas-van Alphen effect by measuring torque magnetometry under magnetic fields up to 45.2 T to map Fermi surfaces in this unusual CDW state. For field along the $c$ direction, we resolve four cyclotron orbits; the largest one roughly corresponding to the area of the 2$\times$2 folded Brillouin zone. Three smaller orbits are characterized by light effective cyclotron masses range from (0.18-0.30) $m_e$. Angle-resolved measurements identify one Fermi surface segment with weak anisotropy. Combined with band structure calculations, our results suggest that features of unfolded Fermi surfaces are robust against CDW reconstruction, corroborating the novel effect of a short-ranged CDW on the electronic structure., Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, to be published in Phys. Transition metal disulfides 4$H_{b}$-Ta(S, Se)$_{2}$ with natural heterostructure of 1${T}$- and 1${H}$-Ta(S, Se)$_{2}$ layers have became the focus of correlated materials their unique combinations of Mott physics and possible topological superconductivity. In this work, we study the upper critical fields $\mu_{0}H_{c2}$ of 4$H_{b}$-TaS$_{2}$ and 4$H_{b}$-TaS$_{1.99}$Se$_{0.01}$ single crystals systematically. Transport measurements up to 35 T show that both of ${ab}$-plane and ${c}$-axis upper critical fields ($\mu_{0}H_{c2,ab}$ and $\mu_{0}H_{c2,c}$) for 4$H_{b}$-TaS$_{2}$ and 4$H_{b}$-TaS$_{1.99}$Se$_{0.01}$ exhibit a linear temperature dependent behavior down to 0.3 K, suggesting the three-dimensional superconductivity with dominant orbital depairing mechanism in bulk 4$H_{b}$-Ta(S, Se)$_{2}$. However, the zero-temperature $\mu_{0}H_{c2,ab}$(0) for both crystals are far beyond the Pauli paramagnetic limit $\mu_{0}H{\rm_{P}}$. It could be explained by the effects of spin-momentum locking in 1$H$-Ta(S, Se)$_{2}$ layers with local inversion symmetry broken and the relatively weak intersublattice interaction between 1$H$ layers due to the existence of 1$T$ layers., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

Topological flat band, on which the kinetic energy of topological electrons is quenched, represents a platform for investigating the topological properties of correlated systems. Recent experimental studies on flattened electronic bands have mainly concentrated on 2-dimensional materials created by van der Waals heterostructure-based engineering. Here, we report the observation of a topological flat band formed by polar-distortion-assisted Rashba splitting in a 3-dimensional Dirac material ZrTe$_5$. The polar distortion and resulting Rashba splitting on the band are directly detected by torque magnetometry and the anomalous Hall effect, respectively. The local symmetry breaking further flattens the band, on which we observe resistance oscillations beyond the quantum limit. These oscillations follow the temperature dependence of the Lifshitz-Kosevich formula but are evenly distributed in B instead of 1/B in high magnetic fields. Furthermore, the cyclotron mass anomalously gets enhanced about 10$^2$ times at field ~20 T. These anomalous properties of oscillations originate from a topological flat band with quenched kinetic energy. The topological flat band, realized by polar-distortion-assisted Rashba splitting in the 3-dimensional Dirac system ZrTe$_5$, signifies an intrinsic platform without invoking moir\'e or order-stacking engineering, and also opens the door for studying topologically correlated phenomena beyond the dimensionality of two., Comment: 32 pages, 11 figures; Version of original submission

The interplay of electron correlations and topological phases gives rise to various exotic phenomena including fractionalization, excitonic instability, and axionic excitation. Recently-discovered transition-metal pentatellurides can reach the ultra-quantum limit in low magnetic fields and serve as good candidates for achieving such a combination. Here, we report evidences of density wave and metal-insulator transition in HfTe5 induced by intense magnetic fields. Using the nonlinear transport technique, we detect a distinct nonlinear conduction behavior in the longitudinal resistivity within the a-c plane, corresponding to the formation of a density wave induced by magnetic fields. In high fields, the onset of the nonlinear conduction in the Hall resistivity indicates an impurity-pinned magnetic freeze-out as the possible origin of the insulating behavior. These frozen electrons can be gradually re-activated into mobile states above a threshold electric field. These experimental evidences call for further investigations into the underlying mechanism for the bulk quantum Hall effect and field-induced phase transtions in pentatellurides., Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures

EuCd2As2 was theoretically predicted to be a minimal model of Weyl semimetals with a single pair of Weyl points in the ferromagnet state. However, the heavily p-doped EuCd2As2 crystals in previous experiments prevent direct identification of the semimetal hypothesis. Here we present a comprehensive magneto-transport study of high-quality EuCd2As2 crystals with ultralow bulk carrier density (10^13 cm-3). In contrast to the general expectation of a Weyl semimetal phase, EuCd2As2 shows insulating behavior in both antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic states as well as surface-dominated conduction from band bending. Moreover, the application of a dc bias current can dramatically modulate the resistance by over one order of magnitude, and induce a periodic resistance oscillation due to the geometric resonance. Such nonlinear transport results from the highly nonequilibrium state induced by electrical field near the band edge. Our results suggest an insulating phase in EuCd2As2 and put a strong constraint on the underlying mechanism of anomalous transport properties in this system., Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures

The recently discovered AV$_{3}$Sb$_{5}$ (A = K, Rb, Cs) compounds have garnered intense attention in the scientific community due to their unique characteristics as kagome superconductors coexisting with a charge density wave (CDW) order. To comprehend the electronic properties of this system, it is essential to understand the lattice distortions associated with the CDW order and the ground state electronic behavior. Here, we comprehensively examine the Fermi surface by a combination of angle-dependent torque magnetometry and density functional theory calculations. We observe magnetic breakdown in the de Haas-van Alphen oscillations under high magnetic fields. Additionally, by examining the angular and temperature variations in quantum oscillation frequencies, we gain insight into the evolution of the three-dimensional like Fermi surfaces and the cyclotron masses of the orbits, which are consistent with weak electron-phonon coupling. Notably, further comparisons indicate that the 2$\times$2$\times$2 Star-of-David (SoD) distortion is more compatible with both high frequency data above 1000\,T and low frequency data below 500\,T, while the 2$\times$2$\times$2 Tri-Hexagonal (TrH) distortion aligns well with experimental data at mid frequencies. This finding implies the inherent coexistence of both TrH and SoD 2$\times$2$\times$2 patterns within the CDW order. These observations provide key insights into the interplay among effective electronic dimensionality, CDW state, and superconductivity.

Particle physics underpins our understanding of the world at a fundamental level by describing the interplay of matter and forces through gauge theories. Yet, despite their unmatched success, the intrinsic quantum mechanical nature of gauge theories makes important problem classes notoriously difficult to address with classical computational techniques. A promising way to overcome these roadblocks is offered by quantum computers, which are based on the same laws that make the classical computations so difficult. Here, we present a quantum computation of the properties of the basic building block of two-dimensional lattice quantum electrodynamics, involving both gauge fields and matter. This computation is made possible by the use of a trapped-ion qudit quantum processor, where quantum information is encoded in $d$ different states per ion, rather than in two states as in qubits. Qudits are ideally suited for describing gauge fields, which are naturally high-dimensional, leading to a dramatic reduction in the quantum register size and circuit complexity. Using a variational quantum eigensolver, we find the ground state of the model and observe the interplay between virtual pair creation and quantized magnetic field effects. The qudit approach further allows us to seamlessly observe the effect of different gauge field truncations by controlling the qudit dimension. Our results open the door for hardware-efficient quantum simulations with qudits in near-term quantum devices.

Context-aware methods achieved great success in supervised scene text recognition via incorporating semantic priors from words. We argue that such prior contextual information can be interpreted as the relations of textual primitives due to the heterogeneous text and background, which can provide effective self-supervised labels for representation learning. However, textual relations are restricted to the finite size of dataset due to lexical dependencies, which causes the problem of over-fitting and compromises representation robustness. To this end, we propose to enrich the textual relations via rearrangement, hierarchy and interaction, and design a unified framework called RCLSTR: Relational Contrastive Learning for Scene Text Recognition. Based on causality, we theoretically explain that three modules suppress the bias caused by the contextual prior and thus guarantee representation robustness. Experiments on representation quality show that our method outperforms state-of-the-art self-supervised STR methods. Quantum computers offer an intriguing path for a paradigmatic change of computing in the natural sciences and beyond, with the potential for achieving a so-called quantum advantage, namely a significant (in some cases exponential) speed-up of numerical simulations. The rapid development of hardware devices with various realizations of qubits enables the execution of small scale but representative applications on quantum computers. In particular, the high-energy physics community plays a pivotal role in accessing the power of quantum computing, since the field is a driving source for challenging computational problems. This concerns, on the theoretical side, the exploration of models which are very hard or even impossible to address with classical techniques and, on the experimental side, the enormous data challenge of newly emerging experiments, such as the upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider. In this roadmap paper, led by CERN, DESY and IBM, we provide the status of high-energy physics quantum computations and give examples for theoretical and experimental target benchmark applications, which can be addressed in the near future. Having the IBM 100 x 100 challenge in mind, where possible, we also provide resource estimates for the examples given using error mitigated quantum computing.

The coupling between band structure and magnetism can lead to intricate Fermi surface modifications. Here we report on the comprehensive study of the Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) effect in two rare-earth-based magnetic Weyl semimetals, NdAlSi and CeAlSi$_{0.8}$Ge$_{0.2}$. The results show that the temperature evolution of topologically nontrivial Fermi surfaces strongly depends on magnetic configurations. In NdAlSi, the SdH frequencies vary with temperature in both the paramagnetic state and the magnetically ordered state with a chiral spin texture, but become temperature independent in the high-field fully polarized state. In CeAlSi$_{0.8}$Ge$_{0.2}$, SdH frequencies are temperature-dependent only in the ferromagnetic state with magnetic fields applied along the $c$ axis. First-principles calculations suggest that the notable temperature and magnetic-configuration dependence of Fermi surface morphology can be attributed to strong exchange coupling between the conduction electrons and local magnetic moments., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures

The typical way for relation extraction is fine-tuning large pre-trained language models on task-specific datasets, then selecting the label with the highest probability of the output distribution as the final prediction. However, the usage of the Top-k prediction set for a given sample is commonly overlooked. In this paper, we first reveal that the Top-k prediction set of a given sample contains useful information for predicting the correct label. To effectively utilizes the Top-k prediction set, we propose Label Graph Network with Top-k Prediction Set, termed as KLG. Specifically, for a given sample, we build a label graph to review candidate labels in the Top-k prediction set and learn the connections between them. We also design a dynamic $k$-selection mechanism to learn more powerful and discriminative relation representation. Our experiments show that KLG achieves the best performances on three relation extraction datasets. Sequence generation demonstrates promising performance in recent information extraction efforts, by incorporating large-scale pre-trained Seq2Seq models. This paper investigates the merits of employing sequence generation in relation extraction, finding that with relation names or synonyms as generation targets, their textual semantics and the correlation (in terms of word sequence pattern) among them affect model performance. We then propose Relation Extraction with Label Augmentation (RELA), a Seq2Seq model with automatic label augmentation for RE. By saying label augmentation, we mean prod semantically synonyms for each relation name as the generation target. Besides, we present an in-depth analysis of the Seq2Seq model's behavior when dealing with RE. Extensive studies of electron transport in Dirac materials have shown positive magneto-resistance (MR) and positive magneto-thermopower (MTP) in a magnetic field perpendicular to the excitation current or thermal gradient. In contrast, measurements of electron transport often show a negative longitudinal MR and negative MTP for a magnetic field oriented along the excitation current or thermal gradient; this is attributed to the chiral anomaly in Dirac materials. Here, we report a very different magneto-thermoelectric transport behavior in the massive Dirac material ZrTe5. Although thin flakes show a commonly observed positive MR in a perpendicular magnetic field, distinct from other Dirac materials, we observe a sharp negative MTP. In a parallel magnetic field, we still observe a negative longitudinal MR, however, a remarkable positive MTP is observed for the fields parallel to the thermal gradients. Our theoretical calculations suggest that this anomalous magneto-thermoelectric behavior can be attributed to the screened Coulomb scattering. This work demonstrates the significance of impurity scattering in the electron transport of topological materials and provides deep insight into the novel magneto-transport phenomena in Dirac materials.

Quantum chromodynamics - the theory of quarks and gluons - has been known for decades, but it is yet to be fully understood. A recent example is the prediction and experimental discovery of tetraquarks, that opened a new research field. Crucially, numerous unsolved questions of the standard model can exclusively be addressed by nonperturbative calculations. Quantum computers can solve problems for which well established QCD methods are inapplicable, such as real-time evolution. We take a key step in exploring this possibility by performing a real-time evolution of tetraquark and pentaquark physics in one-dimensional SU(3) gauge theory on a superconducting quantum computer. Quantum and tensor network simulations have emerged as prominent sign-problem free approaches to lattice gauge theories. Unlike conventional Markov chain Monte Carlo methods, they are based on the Hamiltonian formulation. In this talk, we fill a gap in the literature and present the first derivation of the Hamiltonian 3+1D $\theta$-term -- which is an important sign-problem afflicted term -- for Abelian and non-Abelian lattice gauge theories. Furthermore, we perform exact diagonalization for a 3+1D U(1) lattice gauge theory including the $\theta$-term on a unit periodic cube. Our numerical results reveal a novel phase transition at fixed values of $\theta$ in the strong-coupling regime. The transition is evidenced by an avoided level crossing in the ground state energy, as well as sudden changes in the plaquette expectation value, the electric energy density, and the topological charge density. Extensions of our work to larger lattices can be readily performed using state-of-the-art tensor network simulations. Moreover, our work provides a concrete starting point for an eventual quantum simulation of the $\theta$-dependent phase structure and dynamics of lattice gauge theories in 3+1D. Quantum-enhanced computing methods are promising candidates to solve currently intractable problems. We consider here a variational quantum eigensolver (VQE), that delegates costly state preparations and measurements to quantum hardware, while classical optimization techniques guide the quantum hardware to create a desired target state. In this work, we propose a bosonic VQE using superconducting microwave cavities, overcoming the typical restriction of a small Hilbert space when the VQE is qubit based. The considered platform allows for strong nonlinearities between photon modes, which are highly customisable and can be tuned in situ, i.e. during running experiments. Our proposal hence allows for the realization of a wide range of bosonic ansatz states, and is therefore especially useful when simulating models involving degrees of freedom that cannot be simply mapped to qubits, such as gauge theories, that include components which require infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. We thus propose to experimentally apply this bosonic VQE to the U(1) Higgs model including a topological term, which in general introduces a sign problem in the model, making it intractable with conventional Monte Carlo methods., Comment: 25 pages, 9 figures

Quantum technologies offer the prospect to efficiently simulate sign-problem afflicted regimes in lattice field theory, such as the presence of topological terms, chemical potentials, and out-of-equilibrium dynamics. In this work, we derive the (3+1)D topological $\theta$-term for Abelian and non-Abelian lattice gauge theories in the Hamiltonian formulation, paving the way towards Hamiltonian-based simulations of such terms on quantum and classical computers. We further study numerically the zero-temperature phase structure of a (3+1)D U(1) lattice gauge theory with the $\theta$-term via exact diagonalization for a single periodic cube. In the strong coupling regime, our results suggest the occurrence of a phase transition at constant values of $\theta$, as indicated by an avoided level-crossing and abrupt changes in the plaquette expectation value, the electric energy density, and the topological charge density. These results could in principle be cross-checked by the recently developed (3+1)D tensor network methods and quantum simulations, once sufficient resources become available., Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures; close to journal version

We realize, for the first time, a non-Abelian gauge theory with both gauge and matter fields on a quantum computer. This enables the observation of hadrons and the calculation of their associated masses. The SU(2) gauge group considered here represents an important first step towards ultimately studying quantum chromodynamics, the theory that describes the properties of protons, neutrons and other hadrons. Quantum computers are able to create important new opportunities for ongoing essential research on gauge theories by providing simulations that are unattainable on classical computers. Our calculations on an IBM superconducting platform utilize a variational quantum eigensolver to study both meson and baryon states, hadrons which have never been seen in a non-Abelian simulation on a quantum computer. We develop a resource-efficient approach that not only allows the implementation of a full SU(2) gauge theory on present-day quantum hardware, but further lays out the premises for future quantum simulations that will address currently unanswered questions in particle and nuclear physics.

Researches on anomalous Hall effect (AHE) have been lasting for a century to make clear the underlying physical mechanism. Generally, the AHE appears in magnetic materials, in which extrinsic process related to scattering effects and intrinsic contribution connected with Berry curvature are crucial. Recently, AHE has been counterintuitively observed in non-magnetic topological materials and attributed to the existence of Weyl points. However, the Weyl point scenario would lead to unsaturated AHE even in large magnetic fields and contradicts the saturation of AHE in several tesla (T) in experiments. In this work, we investigate the Hall effect of ZrTe5 and HfTe5 thin flakes in static ultrahigh magnetic fields up to 33 T. We find the AHE saturates to 55 (70) Ohm^-1*cm^-1 for ZrTe5 (HfTe5) thin flakes above ~ 10 T. Combining detailed magnetotransport experiments and Berry curvature calculations, we clarify that the splitting of massive Dirac bands without Weyl points can be responsible for AHE in non-magnetic topological materials ZrTe5 and HfTe5 thin flakes. This model can identify our thin flake samples to be weak topological insulators and serve as a new tool to probe the band structure topology in topological materials.

The interplay between quenched disorder and critical behavior in quantum phase transitions is conceptually fascinating and of fundamental importance for understanding phase transitions. However, it is still unclear whether or not the quenched disorder influences the universality class of quantum phase transitions. More crucially, the absence of superconducting-metal transitions under in-plane magnetic fields in 2D superconductors imposes constraints on the universality of quantum criticality. Here, we discover the tunable universality class of superconductor-metal transition by changing the disorder strength in $\beta$-W films with varying thickness. The finite-size scaling uncovers the switch of universality class: quantum Griffiths singularity to multiple quantum criticality at a critical thickness of $t_{c \perp 1}\sim 8 nm$ and then from multiple quantum criticality to single criticality at $t_{c\perp 2}\sim 16 nm$. Moreover, the superconducting-metal transition is observed for the first time under in-plane magnetic fields and the universality class is changed at $t_{c \parallel }\sim 8 nm$. The discovery of tunable universality class under both out-of-plane and in-plane magnetic fields provides broad information for the disorder effect on superconducting-metal transitions and quantum criticality.

Charge neutrality and their expected itinerant nature makes excitons potential transmitters of information. However, exciton mobility remains inaccessible to traditional optical experiments that only create and detect excitons with negligible momentum. Here, using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, we detect dispersing excitons in the quasi-one-dimensional metallic trichalcogenide, TaSe3. The low density of conduction electrons and the low dimensionality in TaSe3 combined with a polaronic renormalization of the conduction band and the poorly screened interaction between these polarons and photo-induced valence holes leads to various excitonic bound states that we interpret as intrachain and interchain excitons, and possibly trions. The thresholds for the formation of a photo-hole together with an exciton appear as side valence bands with dispersions nearly parallel to the main valence band, but shifted to lower excitation energies. Layered three-dimensional (3D) topological semimetals have attracted intensively attention due to the exotic phenomena and abundantly tunable properties. Here we report the experimental evidence for the 3D topological semimetal phase in layered material TaNiTe5 single crystals through quantum oscillations. Strong quantum oscillations have been observed with diamagnetism background in TaNiTe5. By analyzing the de Haas-van Alphen oscillations, multi-periodic oscillations were extracted, in content with magnetotransport measurements. Moreover, nontrivial "{\pi}" Berry phase with 3D Fermi surface is identified, indicating the topologically nontrivial feature in TaNiTe5. Additionally, we demonstrated the thin-layer of TaNiTe5 crystals is highly feasible by the mechanical exfoliation, which offers a platform to explore exotic properties in low dimensional topological semimetal and paves the way for potential applications in nanodevices., Comment: 18 pages, 4 figures, 1 table

Code summarization generates brief natural language description given a source code snippet, while code retrieval fetches relevant source code given a natural language query. Since both tasks aim to model the association between natural language and programming language, recent studies have combined these two tasks to improve their performance. However, researchers have yet been able to effectively leverage the intrinsic connection between the two tasks as they train these tasks in a separate or pipeline manner, which means their performance can not be well balanced. In this paper, we propose a novel end-to-end model for the two tasks by introducing an additional code generation task. More specifically, we explicitly exploit the probabilistic correlation between code summarization and code generation with dual learning, and utilize the two encoders for code summarization and code generation to train the code retrieval task via multi-task learning. We have carried out extensive experiments on an existing dataset of SQL and Python, and results show that our model can significantly improve the results of the code retrieval task over the-state-of-art models, as well as achieve competitive performance in terms of BLEU score for the code summarization task., Comment: Published at The Web Conference (WWW) 2020, full paper
