The current-induced magnetization switching (CIMS) was successfully observed in epitaxial L10-FePt/CrxPt1−x (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) heterostructures grown by molecular beam epitaxy with large perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. With increasing Cr content, the critical switching current density (Jc) in FePt/CrxPt1−x heterostructures exhibited a decreasing trend, where it was greatly reduced by 69% in FePt/Cr (3d) films compared to FePt/Pt (5d) films with strong spin–orbit coupling. Furthermore, the same switching polarities were observed for all FePt/CrxPt1−x samples, indicating that the orbital Hall effect played a dominant role in CIMS for FePt/Cr films because of opposite spin Hall angles for Cr and Pt. Our results will put forward the applications of L10-FePt in collaboration with the orbital Hall effect from 3d metals in current-controlled magnetic random access memory and neuromorphic computing. Abstract Orychophragmus violaceus (OV) and chicory (Cichorium intybus L., CC) can be used as fresh or dry forage for animals. To determine whether OV and/or CC have beneficial effects on performance and egg quality, a total of 1212 28-wk-old Beijing You Chicken (BYC) laying hens with similar performance were randomly allocated to 4 groups with 3 replicate pens per group, and 101 birds per pen. The birds were fed a basal diet (control), the basal diet + OV (3.507 kg/d/pen), the basal diet + CC (2.525 kg/d/pen), and the basal diet + OV + CC (OVC, 1.7535 kg/d/pen OV + 1.2625 kg/d/pen CC) for 3 wks after one wk of adaptation. The results showed that egg-laying rate was not affected by OV, CC and OVC (p > 0.05), but weekly average egg mass was significantly increased by OV and CC (p < 0.05). The feed egg ratio in the CC group (2.82) was significantly lower than that in the other three groups (p < 0.05). The eggshell thickness (EST), albumen height (AH) and Haugh unit (HU) were decreased by OV and CC (p < 0.05); while yolk color (YC) was increased in the CC and OVC groups (p < 0.05). Egg grade was decreased by OV (p < 0.05). Sensory evaluation showed that there was a trend for increased YC in OV, CC and OVC (p = 0.089). Serum total protein was significantly lower in OV group than those in the control and CC group (p < 0.05); serum albumin content was significantly decreased in OV, CC and OVC groups (p = 0.006). Serum glutathione peroxidase activity in CC and OVC groups was significantly higher than that in the control group (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the present study suggests that CC had a better effect on the performance of the native laying hens than OV. The OV and CC affected egg quality, while YC was increased in CC and OVC groups. The OVC improved YC and serum antioxidative properties of native laying hens without affecting the performance. This study aimed to observe the differential expression of Annexin-A1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and explored the effect of small interfering ribonucleic acid (RNAi)-Annexin-A1 on the biological behavior of CE81T-0 cells. An immunohistochemical approach was used to detect the expression of Annexin-A1 in 86 pairs of ESCC samples. Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of Annexin-A1 in CE81T-0 and CE81T-4 cells, and the expression of Annexin-A1 in CE81T-0 cells was knocked out by RNAi. A methyl-thiazolyltetrazolium assay was used to observe the effect of Annexin-A1 on cell proliferation, and flow cytometry was conducted to analyze its effect on cell cycles and apoptosis. A scratch assay and a Transwell chamber were used to detect changes in cell migration and invasion. From the results, compared with the Annexin-A1 expression rate of 59.3% in para-carcinoma tissues, the expression of Annexin-A1 in cancer was reduced to only 32.6% in ESCC cells. Annexin-A1 was strongly expressed in highly differentiated ESCC cells without lymphatic metastasis and highly expressed in the CE81T-0 cell group with low metastasis. Annexin-A1 gene silencing promoted cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis, blocked cells in the S-phase, and increased cell migration, leading to an increase in the number of invaded cells. Above all, Annexin-A1 could reflect the differentiation degree and lymph node metastasis of ESCC cells to some extent and was involved in the invasion, metastasis, proliferation, and other biological behaviors of ESCC cells, indicating an experimental basis for Annexin-A1 as a molecular marker in the early diagnosis of ESCC and the prediction of cell metastasis, invasion, and differentiation degree. TaTe4, a metallic charge-density wave (CDW) material discovered decades ago, has attracted renewed attention due to its rich interesting properties, such as pressure-induced superconductivity and candidate nontrivial topological phase. Here, using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ab initio calculation, we systematically investigate the electronic structure of TaTe4. At 26 K, we observe a CDW gap as large as 290 meV, which persists up to 500 K. The CDW-modulated band structure shows a complex reconstruction that closely correlates with the lattice distortion. Inside the CDW gap, there exist highly dispersive energy bands contributing to the remnant Fermi surface and metallic behavior in the CDW state. Interestingly, our ab initio calculation reveals that the large CDW gap mainly opens in the electronic states with out-of-plane orbital components, while the in-gap metallic states originate from in-plane orbitals, suggesting an orbital texture that couples with the CDW order. OBJECTIVE: Liver neoplasm is one of the most fatal malignancies worldwide, among which hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (MIM #114550, https://omim.org/) is the most prevalent type. ABCC1 (MIM *158343) is a membrane- bound protein that relies on ATP hydrolysis to transport substrates and is associated with tumour drug resistance and malignant potential. However, the relationship between ABCC1, HCC prognosis, and immune infiltration remains elusive. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We analysed the mRNA expression of ABCC1 using data from public databases. Immunohistochemistry staining was performed to identify ABCC1 expression in tumour samples. We further investigated the correlation between ABCC1 and clinicopathological features. We investigated the connection between ABCC1 and HCC prognosis using survival and Cox regression analyses. We investigated the underlying pathways of ABCC1 in HCC using functional enrichment analysis and GSEA. We determine the relationship between ABCC1 and immune c ell infiltration via an integrated immune landscape analysis. RESULTS: Our investigation revealed the upregulation of ABCC1 expression in HCC (p < 0.01), which was verified in clinical samples (p < 0.01). In addition, ABCC1 is adversely associated with HCC clinical features and prognosis (p < 0.05). GO/KEGG analysis and GSEA identified that ABCC1 participates in multiple immuneand tumour-related pathways (p < 0.05). Immune cell infiltration analysis indicated that ABCC1 was positively correlated with various immune cells, among which, the strongest correlation was with macrophages (p < 0.001). Furthermore, we observed significant variations in immune checkpoints between the ABCC1-low and ABCC1-high groups (p < 0.01). This indicated that patients with a high expression of ABCC1 might respond poorly to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy (p = 9.2e-07). Ischemic heart disease, resulting from ischemic and anoxic cardiomyocytes, can lead to the abnormal metabolic activity which is able to result in some serious diseases including cardiac failure, thrombus and other deadly disease and it is also the bad factor to the health of human. Besides, oxidative stress resulting from ischemic heart disease is one of the most serious factors of this disease which can destroy the healthy tissue, protein and so on. Hypoxia, as a signal, is able to launch hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha which lives in cytoplasm. It transfers to cell nucleus to achieve its aim, which means hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha is going to bind to hypoxia-inducible factor 1-beta first, then start some downstream promoters to facilitate several target genes such as vascular endothelial growth factor, inducible nitric oxide synthase, necessary enzyme of glycolysis and erythropoietin. Reactive oxygen species has also been proved that, it can start hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha as the second messenger. At the moment, hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha has been proved that, it is influential for ischemic heart disease through some pathways such as the increased angiogenesis, promoting glycolysis and the decreased reactive oxygen species. The present study aimed to establish esophageal squamous carcinoma cell (ESCC) sublines with different invasive and metastatic potentials. Gene microarrays were used for differential gene screening with the establishment of ESCC invasive metastatic gene expression profiles. Some differential gene expressions were validated. Parent line Eca109-T0 was screened in a Transwell chamber to establish Eca109-T4 with high invasion and metastasis. The migrative and proliferative capacities of ESCCs were compared. The Eca109-T0 and Eca109-T4 cell lines were taken as the research objects and were hybridized with gene chips to obtain cell sublines for the screening of differential genes of ESCCs with varying invasive and metastatic potentials. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) clustering analyses were conducted. Some differential genes (HSP90AA1, ANXA1, YWHAB, CXCR7, SDC2, and TNFRSF10D messenger ribonucleic acid) were validated by qualitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot analysis. As a result, some Eca109-T4 ESCC sublines with high invasive and metastatic potential were screened in a Transwell chamber. The gene chip analysis screened out 326 differential genes, of which 123 were upregulated and 203 were downregulated by Eca109-T4. The GO cluster analysis indicated that the genes were in the cytoplasm, nucleus, and cytosol. The molecular functions of these genes involved the binding of proteins and metal ions and participation in biological processes, including cell signal transduction, transcription, and apoptosis. The KEGG clustering showed that these genes were mainly involved in signaling pathways, such as actin cytoskeleton regulation, the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway, and the cancer pathway. The validation results were basically consistent with the gene microarray screening results. In Eca109-T4 and CE81T-4, HSP90AA1, YWHAB, and CXCR7 were highly expressed, while the expression of ANXA1 was low. In conclusion esophageal squamous carcinoma cell models with different invasive and metastatic potentials were established. The establishment of differential gene expression profiles for invasion and metastasis together with a bioinformatics analysis provided rich information for studies related to ESCC invasion and metastasis. (Quasi-)one-dimensional systems exhibit various fascinating properties such as Luttinger liquid behavior, Peierls transition, novel topological phases, and the accommodation of unique quasiparticles (e.g., spinon, holon, and soliton, etc.). Here we study molybdenum blue bronze A0.3MoO3 (A = K, Rb), a canonical quasi-one-dimensional charge-density-wave material, using laser-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. Our experiment suggests that the normal phase of A0.3MoO3 is a prototypical Luttinger liquid, from which the charge-density-wave emerges with decreasing temperature. Prominently, we observe strong renormalizations of band dispersions, which are recognized as the spectral function of Holstein polaron derived from band-selective electron-phonon coupling in the system. We argue that the strong electron-phonon coupling plays an important role in electronic properties and the charge-density-wave transition in blue bronzes. Our results not only reconcile the long-standing heavy debates on the electronic properties of blue bronzes but also provide a rare platform to study interesting excitations in Luttinger liquid materials. The mechanism of the charge density wave transition in quasi one-dimensional blue bronzes is still debated. Here, the authors report evidence of a Luttinger liquid in the normal state of blue bronzes and Holstein polarons below the transition temperature, revealing the important role of electron-phonon coupling in the transition.
