21. Isoclock: a free and novel routine for common Pb correction in U–Th–Pb data reduction of LA-ICP-MS analysis.

Abstract

Robust U–Pb dating of accessory minerals (e.g., apatite, titanite, wolframite, and cassiterite) by LA-ICP-MS is often impeded by variable contents of common Pb in matrix-matched reference material (RM). Therefore, common Pb needs to be corrected in these RMs analyses that are used as standards to calibrate isotope fractionation during data reduction. In this study, a novel stand-alone computer program (called Isoclock) focused on the deduction of common Pb from RM, and the corrected RM were used for isotope fractionation. A new common Pb correction method was introduced into the program that allows the deduction of common Pb not only in 206Pb and 207Pb, but also in 208Pb, so that both U/Pb and Th/Pb age calculations can be performed. The software contains several processing steps for the raw files of different mass spectrometers. The processing interface contains data import and view, background correction and filtering of outliers, calculation of common Pb for RMs, fractionation calibration, and age calculation. Isoclock is written using the free and open-source Python language and can either run the code directly or by using a graphical interface. Finally, we discuss the main advantages of this software and its geological application using six examples of apatite, cassiterite, titanite, monazite and wolframite U–Pb dating. Abstract

Biomass resource is abundant, and can be converted to biochar with outstanding properties through thermochemical methods. With advantages of large specific surface area, high porosity, rich and varied pore structure, and excellent conductivity, biochar material can be used as the supercapacitor electrode. As an electrode material of supercapacitor, it is favorable to improve the electrochemical performance of the double-layer supercapacitor, and has a good application prospect. Based on the introduction of the working principle of two kinds of supercapacitors, the preparation and modification methods of biochar that used as electrode materials were summarized in this paper. Furthermore, the effects of specific surface area, pore structure and surface functional groups of biochar on the electrochemical performance of double-layer supercapacitors were reviewed. The effects of preparation methods and modification techniques of biochar on the electrochemical performance of carbon electrodes in recent years were also reviewed. 50. Complete chloroplast genome sequences of Dracocephalum argunenseand D. integrifolium(Lamiaceae: Nepetinae)

Abstract

Dracocephalumis a large genus comprises approximately 80 species of perennial herbs, mainly distributed in high elevation regions of temperate and Central Asia, with about half native to China. Within the genus, D. argunenseand D. integrifoliumare important herbs with great medicinal value. We sequenced plastomes of these two species for the first time. These plastomes showed a typical quadripartite structure and the length varied from 149,978 bp (D. integrifolium) to 150,802 bp (D. argunense). Plastome of D. argunenseand D. integrifoliumincluded 127 and 133 genes, respectively. Phylogenetic analyses supported the monophyly of redefined Dracocephalumand systematic relationships within sampled species were well resolved. Our study added new genetic information of D. argunenseand D. integrifoliumand of great potential for further diversity studies, phylogenetic studies and understanding of evolutionary history in Dracocephalum.
