Abstract

The task of generating sequence images from paragraphs by generating confrontation networks can already generate higher quality images.However,when the input text involves multiple objects and relationships,the context information of the text sequence is difficult to extract,the object layout of the generated image is prone to confusion,and the generated object details are insufficient.To solve this problem,this paper proposes a method of generating sequence images based on scene graphs based on StoryGAN.First,the paragraph is converted into multiple scene graphs through graph convolution,each scene graph contains the object and relationship information of the corresponding text.Then,the bounding box and segmentation mask of the object are predicted to calculate the scene layout.Finally,according to the scene layout and the context information,a sequence of images more in line with the object and its relationship is generated.Tests on CLEVR-SV and CoDraw-SV data sets show that the me-thod in this paper can generate 64×64-pixel sequence images containing multiple objects and their relationships.Experimental results show that on the CLEVR-SV data set,the SSIM and FID of this method are improved by 1.34% and 9.49% respectively than StoryGAN.On the CoDraw-SV data set,the ACC of this method is 7.40% higher than that of StoryGAN.The proposed method improves the rationality of the layout of the generated scene,not only can generate an image sequence containing multiple objects and relationships,but also the generated image has higher quality and clearer details.

Abstract

The recycling of subcontinental lithospheric mantle back into the asthenosphere during continental breakup is potentially a major but underappreciated process in plate tectonics. Here, we report major and trace elements for detrital peridotite minerals in carbonate breccias dredged from the Marion Rise, Southwest Indian Ridge. With an emphasis on the trace elements of the relatively abundant orthopyroxene detrital grains, the results show that a portion of pyroxene grains was likely derived from a mantle source that experienced hydrous melting and slab‐derived melt metasomatism above a subduction zone. This finding provides a novel view into the mantle geochemistry at midocean ridges, as well as evidence that Marion Rise is at least partially supported by chemically buoyant recycled refractory mantle wedge material. Abstract

Regeneration is the regrowth of damaged tissues or organs, a vital process in response to damages from primitive organisms to higher mammals. Planarian possesses active whole‐body regenerative capability owing to its vast reservoir of adult stem cells, neoblasts, providing an ideal model to delineate the underlying mechanisms for regeneration. RNA N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification participates in many biological processes, including stem cell self‐renewal and differentiation, in particular the regeneration of haematopoietic stem cells and axons. However, how m6A controls regeneration at the whole‐organism level remains largely unknown. Here, we demonstrate that the depletion of m6A methyltransferase regulatory subunit wtap abolishes planarian regeneration, potentially through regulating genes related to cell–cell communication and cell cycle. Single‐cell RNA‐seq (scRNA‐seq) analysis unveils that the wtap knockdown induces a unique type of neural progenitor‐like cells (NP‐like cells), characterized by specific expression of the cell–cell communication ligand grn. Intriguingly, the depletion of m6A‐modified transcripts grn, cdk9 or cdk7 partially rescues the defective regeneration of planarian caused by wtap knockdown. However, that of ophiolites, i.e., on-land ancient analogs of oceanic lithosphere, could be precisely mapped and measured. The Xigaze ophiolite in Tibet has been regarded as “peculiar”, due to the sheeted sill complex in its upper crust, and non-sheeted diabase sills/dikes crosscutting its mantle and lower crust, which are geometrically different from the primarily vertical sheeted dike complex. Based on extensive field observations, here we present petrological and geochemical data for the Xigaze ophiolite to decipher the origin of sheeted sill complex and its implications for the construction of oceanic crusts. Diabases in the Xigaze ophiolite could be subdivided into sheeted sills, Group 1 non-sheeted dikes, and Group 2 non-sheeted sills, based on their orientations. These diabases cut other lithologies, and hence belong to the latest-stage products. Based on petrological, geochemical, and structural data, we highlight the important role of detachment fault in the generation of sheeted and non-sheeted sills. During the formation of oceanic crust, large block exhumation, multi-stage rotations, and foundering are argued here as key mechanisms for the generation of Xigaze sheeted and non-sheeted dikes/sills, all of which are in the evolution of detachment fault systems. These processes are also not uncommon for asymmetrical segments at modern slow-spreading and ultraslow-spreading ridges, but are rare at symmetrical segments. Abstract

Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a known hepatotoxin that is the most abundant and potent cyanobacterial toxin. The development of a strategy for sensitive MC-LR detection is highly demanded. In this work, a novel solid-state nanochannel-based sensing system was constructed by in situgrowth of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) on anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) nanochannels and modification with an MC-LR-specific aptamer as a probe. The MOF was employed to reduce the effective diameter of the nanochannels and provided abundant functional active sites for the probes. As a result, highly sensitive MC-LR detection was realized with the limit of detection reaching 0.004 ng mL−1. Compared to the nanochannels without MOF modification, the sensitivity has been significantly improved, by around 10 000-fold. Furthermore, highly reliable detection of MC-LR in various water samples was also achieved, with a relative standard deviation of less than 5.46% and recovery between 93.90% and 106.73%. This strategy provides significant insight for practical applications of nanochannel-based sensing systems, including environmental contaminant detection, food analysis, and medical analysis.

Abstract

Essential oils are widely used in the food industry as natural food preservatives to extend product shelf life and as flavoring agents. However, not much has been done on their use in soymilk. The aim of the study is to determine the compounds of five essential oils by GC-MS and their effect on fungal growth inhibition and sensory acceptability of soymilk. The components of the essential oils of five spices, namely citronella, basil, cinnamon, eucalyptus and mint were analysed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the essential oils was tested on the fungus Aspergillus flavus 3.4408 on PDA (agar dilution method). Sensory evaluation of soymilk flavored with the essential oils of citronella, basil and mint at different concentrations was done by ten member panelists using a 9-point hedonic scale. The main compound for basil was eugenol 83.26%. Cinnamon contained cinnamaldehyde (97.3%). The main compounds in citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) were limonene (38.51%), citronellal (30.29%). Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) essential oil mainly contained eucalyptol/cineole (76.70%), and Mint (Mentha arvensis): Menthol 42.72%, Menthone 25.72%. The MICs of citronella, basil, cinnamon, eucalyptus and mint were 5-10 µl/ml, 0.5-1 µl/ml, ≤0.1 µl/ml, >>10 µl/ml and 10-20 µl/ml, respectively. Thus, cinnamon was the most effective in inhibiting fungal growth, while eucalyptus was the least effective. These essential oils improved the soymilk flavor. Mint was the most preferred flavor, followed by citronella and basil. Thus, essential oils especially mint and citronella can be used for improving acceptability of soymilk at low concentration.

50. Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Beijing’s Urbanization Efficiency from 2005 to 2014

Abstract

In the context of Beijing’s accelerated economic growth, a high urbanization rate and associated urban problems pose challenges. We collected panel data for the period 2005–2014 to examine the relationship between Beijing’s urbanization efficiency and economic growth rate as well as its spatial patterns of dynamic and static urbanization efficiency. Specifically, we developed a comprehensive index system for assessing Beijing’s economic growth rate and urbanization efficiency at the district (county) level. Economic level was selected as an indicator of the economic growth rate. Economic urbanization and consumption levels were selected as indicators of urbanization efficiency. We applied a sequential Malmquist total factor productivity index to estimate the dynamic urbanization efficiency and economic growth rate at the district/country level from 2005 to 2014. We measured Beijing’s static urbanization efficiency in 2014 using a data envelopment analysis model and assessed its spatiotemporal dynamics and urbanization efficiency pattern using a Getis–Ord General Gi index. The results indicated an overall average increase of 1.07% in the total factor urbanization efficiency (TFUE), with an average value of 0.91, while the total factor economic growth rate (TFEE) remained stable at an average value of 0.979. The low TFUE level evidently continues to significantly constrain TFEE. Both TFUE and TFEE levels in the Capital Function Core (CFC) area were significant, exhibiting high inputs and outputs, while these levels in the Urban Function Development (UFD), City Development Zone (CDZ), and Ecological Conservation Development (ECD) areas were below 1 for most periods, strongly indicating inefficient factor allocation. In view of this spatial pattern, TFUE’s regional spatial distribution appears remarkable, showing a decreasing trend from north to south in Beijing, excluding CFC areas. During the period 2005–2014, the CFC area and northeastern Beijing gradually developed into high urbanization efficiency cluster regions. The dominant factors accounting for the difference in total factor productivity indices between TFUE and TFEE were technical change (TC) and scale efficiency change (SEC), and the main factors driving the regional spatial distribution pattern for urbanization efficiency were TC and technical efficiency change (TEC). Accordingly, local governments should promote TC, SEC, and TEC to improve urbanization levels, with optimal strategies entailing strengthening policy support and encouraging investments in technology in UFD, CDZ, and ECD areas. Within Beijing, Dongcheng, Xicheng, Shijingshan, Mentougou, and Yanqing demonstrated effectively balanced static urbanization efficiency levels in 2014, whereas these levels in the city’s remaining 11 districts were not optimal, with extensive development. County governments should therefore promote efforts to reduce input redundancy and improve pure technical efficiency to maintain sustainable and steady development.
