Objective To investigate the correlation of Wnt5a expression and vasculogenic mimicry (VM) in prostate cancer tissues, and analyze their relationships with cancer stem cells (CSCs) characteristics and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT). Methods Immunohistochemistry was conducted to detect the expression of Wnt5a in 50 prostate cancer tissues and 50 benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues. The expression levels of CD133, vimentin, and E-cadherin were detected in the prostate cancer tissues, and CD34/PAS double staining was used to detect VM structures. We analyzed the difference in Wnt5a level between prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia tissues, the clinical significance of Wnt5a and VM, the relationship of Wnt5a expression and VM, and the relationships of Wnt5a expression and VM with CD133, Vimentin, E-cadherin. Results The expression of Wnt5a was significantly higher in prostate cancer tissues than in benign prostatic hyperplasia (P < 0.05). A positive correlation was observed between Wnt5a expression and VM (P < 0.05). The expression levels of Wnt5a and VM were positively correlated with those of CD133 and vimentin (P < 0.05). Wnt5a expression and VM were positively correlated with Gleason score, vas deferens invasion and lymphatic metastasis (P < 0.05) of prostate cancer, and VM was also positively correlated with T stage of prostate cancer (P < 0.05). Conclusion The expression level of Wnt5a in prostate cancer tissues is elevated and positively related with VM formation. Wnt5a expression and VM are correlated with cancer stem cells characteristics and the expression of epithelial–mesenchymal transition marker proteins.

As an efficient, fast, green and environmentally friendly means of transportation, subway vehicles account for the largest proportion of urban rail transit, and in large and medium-sized cities, the construction of subway is still in rapid development, but with the subway noise radiation problem, subway noise plagued by passengers, related operators and residents along the subway. In this study, the finite element analysis software ABAQUS is used to establish the coupled dynamics model of subway B-type vehicle-rail, and the acoustic radiation characteristics of wheels and rails are calculated based on the FE-BE and FE-SEA method, respectively, with the aim of analyzing the effects of different wavelength and depth parameters on the dynamics of vehicle response and wheel-rail noise radiation pattern when the vehicle is running on the rail corrugation road. The results of the study show that the effect of rail corrugation parameters on the power level of wheel and rail sound radiation is more significant in the low-frequency range, and the wheel-rail noise is mainly radiated by the wheel in the low-frequency range, while in the high-frequency range, it is mainly radiated by the rail.

Noise is a major problem in the development of rapid rail transit systems. To reduce the impact of wheel – rail noise and other types of noise on the sound environment along the railway, sound barriers are often installed on both sides of the rail transit system, the main purpose of which is to prevent the propagation of noise. Therefore, sound barriers are the most important noise reduction measure for rail transit. However, when a train passes, the sound barrier vibrates and produces noise because of the vibration energy transmission caused by the running vehicle. If the noise generated by the sound barrier influences the secondary structural noise in the railway environment, the noise reduction effect and the function of the sound barrier will be weakened. Based on the train – track – bridge interaction theory, a coupling dynamic vehicle – track – bridge – sound barrier model was established to systematically study the vibration characteristics of the upright sound barrier (USB), and the acoustic radiation characteristics of the sound barrier were analysed in combination with the acoustic boundary element theory. On this basis, low – noise optimization design schemes of the USB were developed for high – speed railway (HSR) and urban rail transit (URT). The L-shell x-ray emission of tellurium induced by H2+ ions impact is investigated in an energy range of 150–300 keV. The blue shifts of various L-subshell x rays and the enhancement of the relative intensity ratios of Lι, Lβ to Lα x ray are observed and interpreted by the multiple ionization of outer-shell electrons. The new experimental x-ray production cross sections, which almost correspond to those of protons with half of the original energy, are extracted and compared with various theoretical estimations. The correction effects of the united atom approximation and the multiple ionization atomic parameters are compared, and the influence of atomic parameters from different databases on the simulations is discussed. Overall, the ECUSAR-MI calculations using theoretical atomic parameters present the best agreement with the experiment results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective This study examined the relationship between cystatin C (CysC) levels and all-cause, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and cancer mortality in US metabolic syndrome (MetS) patients. Methods The 1999-2002 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) prospective cohort research included 1980 MetS participants. To assess CysC levels and all-cause, CVD, and cancer mortality, fitted curves, Kaplan-Meier survival curves, Cox regression analysis, and receiver operating characteristic curves were performed. Results During a mean follow-up of 15.3 ± 5.4 years, a total of 819 deaths occurred. The fitted and Kaplan-Meier survival curves revealed that greater CysC levels were linked to higher all-cause, CVD, and cancer mortality rates (P <.05). After adjusting for variables, CysC level was associated with all-cause, CVD, and cancer mortality at 1.63 (1.42-1.88), 1.53 (1.19-1.95), and 1.53 (1 ∼ 2.32), respectively (P <.05). Tertile models showed consistent results: high CysC Tertile participants showed higher risk of all-cause mortality (HR 1.87; 1.43-2.45), CVD mortality (HR 1.97, 1.15 ∼ 3.38), and cancer mortality (HR 1.72, 1.01 ∼ 2.91) compared to those in the lowest tertile (P <.05). Subgroup studies by sex and other characteristics confirmed the findings. CysC demonstrated the higher predictive efficacy across mortality outcomes, followed by eGFR, outperforming urea nitrogen, creatinine, uric acid, and C-reactive protein. CysC alone exhibited substantial predictive value for all-cause (AUC 0.773; P <.05) and CVD mortality (AUC 0.726; P <.05). Combining CysC with age enhanced predictive value for all-cause mortality to 0.861 and CVD mortality to 0.771 (P <.05). Conclusion MetS patients with elevated CysC levels have a higher risk of all-cause, CVD, and cancer death. CysC may predict MetS all-cause and CVD mortality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
