18. Inner-shell filling and X-ray emission of [Ar.sup.17+] ion in grazing incidence on an A1 (111) surface

Abstract

Based on 'length and energy scale matching' theory, we put forward a model for the [Ar.sup.17+] ion in grazing incidence on an Al surface. Using the model and a more detailed side feeding rate, the inner-shell filling and X-ray emission of the incident [Ar.sup.17+] ion are minutely studied. The results show that the final charged state of the ion gradually increases with increasing incident velocity, which is in accordance with experimental results. The central energies of K X-ray lines ([K.sub.α] and [K.sub.β]) are mainly influenced by the vertical energy of the ion, that is, for a given incident angle the X-ray spectrum from the ion with bigger incident energy is dominated by the decay of the ion with fewer L- and M-shell vacancies. However, the intensity of the lines depends not only on the vertical velocity, but also the horizontal velocity of the incident ion. In addition, both of the K X-ray lines have large widths, which shows that they are emitted from an ion with a broad spectrum of L- and M-shell populations. PACS Nos.: 34.35.+a, 79.20.Rf, 78.70.En. Sur la base de la theorie de l'appariement de longueur et d'echelle d'energie, nous proposons un modele pour un ion [Ar.sup.17+] en collision rasante sur une surface d'aluminium. Utilisant ce modele et un taux plus precis d'alimentation laterale, nous etudions minutieusement le remplissage des couches internes et l'emission X de l'ion Ar. Les resultats montrent que l'etat de charge final de l'ion augmente graduellement avec l'augmentation de la vitesse incidente, ce qui est en accord avec les resultats experimentaux. Les energies centrales des raies X de la couche K ([K.sub.α] et [K.sub.β]) sont surtout influencees par l'energie verticale de l'ion. Ainsi, pour un angle incident donne, le spectre X de l'ion avec la plus grande energie incidente est domine par la desintegration de l'ion avec moins de vacances dans les couches L et M. Cependant, l'intensite des raies depend non seulement de la vitesse verticale, mais aussi de la vitesse horizontale de l'ion. 36. Solidification Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Bulk Near-Eutectic AlCoCrFeNi2.2 High Entropy Alloy

Abstract

A 4Kg grade AlCoCrFeNi2.2 high entropy alloy was prepared by low vacuum medium frequency induction melting. The microstructure results showed that the microstructure and composition of the ingot were uniform. The microstructures were composed of primary Ni-rich FCC phase and eutectic structure. The eutectic structure was composed of Ni-rich FCC phase and Al-rich B2 phase. The hardness results showed no significant difference in Vickers hardness between different parts of the ingot, and fluctuated within the range of HV260 ± 20. The compression test results showed that there was no significant difference in compression performance between different parts of the ingot. The AlCoCrFeNi2.2 high entropy alloy had excellent compression performance, the yield strength reached 600 MPa, the fracture strength reached 2200 MPa, and the compression ratio was greater than 40%. Above all, the near-eutectic AlCoCrFeNi2.2 high-entropy alloy had the characteristics of good casting ability, high strength, good plasticity, and was easy to realize the preparation of large-volume non-segregation ingot.

39. Interference effect in the photodetachment from H- ion in a few-cycle laser pulse

Abstract

We theoretically study the electron detachment of negative hydrogen ions in a three-cycle linearly polarized laser field with a wavelength of 2150 nm in the context of the strong field approximation (SFA). The numerical integration and the saddle-point (SP) methods are both used in our calculations. The results show that both the energy spectra and the momentum spectra of the photoelectrons detached from negative hydrogen ions, obtained from these two methods, accord very well with each other for the laser intensities of 1.31011 W/cm2 and 6.51011 W/cm2, respectively. It is found that there is an obvious stripe-like structure along the vertical direction of the momentum spectra when the laser intensity is 6.51011 W/cm2. To explore the main origin which leads to the specific structures of the momentum spectra, we divide the interferences of the electronic wave packets emitted at different times during the laser pulse into the intra-cycle interference and the inter-cycle interference based on the SP method. Inter-cycle interference arises from the coherent superposition of electron wave packets released at complex times during different optical cycles, whereas intra-cycle interference comes from the coherent superposition of electron packets released in the same optical cycle. It is found that when only considering the inter-cycle interference, the main structures of the momentum spectra accord well with the above-threshold detachment (ATD) rings, which indicates that the inter-cycle interference corresponds to ATD rings of the photoelectron spectrum. But when only considering the intra-cycle interference, there are stripe-like structures with left-right asymmetry along the vertical direction of the momentum spectra. So the main structures of the momentum spectra of the photoelectrons are attributed to the interplay of the intra-and inter-cycle interferences. In addition, to intuitively explain the reason why the momentum spectra depend on the intensity of the laser field, we analyze the influence of the intensity of the laser field on the inter-cycle interference of quantum wave packets. It is found that the phase difference of the inter-cycle interference depends on the intensity of the laser field, which may lead to the difference among the momentum spectra of the photoelectrons at different laser intensities. Moreover, the influences of the intra-and inter-cycle interferences on the energy spectrum of the photoelectrons are also analyzed. It is found that the main oscillatory patterns and the peak positions of the energy spectra are mainly determined by the inter-cycle interference. Finally, the effects of the duration of laser pulse on the intra-and inter-cycle interferences are discussed. It seems that the main structures of the momentum spectra accord well with the ATD rings in multi-cycle laser pulses. So it is concluded that in multi-cycle laser pulses, the inter-cycle interference dominates while the intra-cycle interference is suppressed. The work in this paper is meaningful for further understanding the quantum interference effect and the optical control of the laser-induced photodetachment of negative ions.
