13. An Overview of Contour Detection Approaches

Abstract

Object contour plays an important role in fields such as semantic segmentation and image classification. However, the extraction of contour is a difficult task, especially when the contour is incomplete or unclosed. In this paper, the existing contour detection approaches are reviewed and roughly divided into three categories: pixel-based, edge-based, and region-based. In addition, since the traditional contour detection approaches have achieved a high degree of sophistication, the deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) have good performance in image recognition, therefore, the DCNNs based contour detection approaches are also covered in this paper. Moreover, the future development of contour detection is analyzed and predicted.

Abstract

Artificial photosynthesis converting carbon dioxide into chemical fuels with a high added value is a promising solution to both fossil fuel shortage/pollution and global climate change; however, the development of highly efficient photocatalysts toward this goal is still largely bereft of fresh ideas. Herein, we propose a "cascade electron transfer" strategy through spurring both interfacial and inner electron transfer rates for a 0D/2D photocatalyst of CsPbBr3/CuTCPP metal organic framework (MOF). Upon photoexcitation, the heterojunction structure with an appropriate band alignment facilitates an ultrafast interfacial electron transfer rate of 1.4 ps from CsPbBr3 segment to CuTCPP MOF and subsequent ultrafast internal electron transfer of 21 ps from CuTCPP ligand to the Cu node within the enlarged 2D framework. The efficient electron transfer ensures efficient charge separation favorable for photocatalytic reactions: The photocatalyst exhibits an outstanding yield of 47.2 μmol g−1 h−1 (CO and CH4 combined) superior to previous reports. Rational design of hierarchical heterojunctions with matching electronic bandgap not only expedites cascade charge transfer but also prevents holes from recombining with electrons or oxidizing the photocatalysts without the necessity of sacrificial reagents. Abstract

To obtain pL class adhesive drop to match the micro parts in size,three kinds of micro drop making mechanisms,injection,bubble jetting,and needle transfer,were analyzed.A pL class adhesive dispensing approach based on time-pressure dispensing was present,then pL class adhesive spots were obtained by online visual monitoring of the spot diameter,and controlling the internal diameter of the dispensing needle tip,pressure and time.The effects of three factors mentioned above on the adhesive spot size were experimented,and this technique combined with a micromanipulation system were used in Inertial Confinement Fosion(ICF) experiments to bond a fill tube and a capsule together for the cryogenic targets.The results show that the adhesive spot diameter is proportional to the internal diameter of the dispensing needle tip,pressure and time.When the internal diameter of needle tip,pressure and time are controlled to be 1.2 μm,0 psi,and 8~10 s,the adhesive volume and diameter will be less than 3pL and 40 μm,respectively.

Abstract

When a small object is measured by micro cameras, a sharp image of the whole object is impossible to be obtained because the depth of the object's surface is different and the distance between different parts of the object's surface maybe deeper than the depth of field of the micro camera. The camera is focused on different areas of the object's surface and a series of multi-focus images are taken. The relative depths between the object surface's different sub-regions will be got by comparing image sharpness evaluation function values of multi-focus images' same sub-regions and considering the relative position between the camera and the object. Thus the surface depth is obtained. Multi-focus images' sub-regions with maximum image sharpness evaluation function values are combined into an image. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
