We present precise photometric estimates of stellar parameters, including effective temperature, metallicity, luminosity classification, distance, and stellar age, for nearly 26 million stars using the methodology developed in the first paper of this series, based on the stellar colors from the Stellar Abundances and Galactic Evolution Survey (SAGES) DR1 and Gaia EDR3. The optimal design of stellar-parameter sensitive $uv$ filters by SAGES has enabled us to determine photometric-metallicity estimates down to $-3.5$, similar to our previous results with the SkyMapper Southern Survey (SMSS), yielding a large sample of over five million metal-poor (MP; [Fe/H]$\le -1.0$) stars and nearly one million very metal-poor (VMP; [Fe/H]$\le -2.0$) stars. The typical precision is around $0.1$ dex for both dwarf and giant stars with [Fe/H]$>-1.0$, and 0.15-0.25/0.3-0.4 dex for dwarf/giant stars with [Fe/H]$<-1.0$. Using the precise parallax measurements and stellar colors from Gaia, effective temperature, luminosity classification, distance and stellar age are further derived for our sample stars. We provide a detailed analysis on tidal tails of the globular cluster M3 (NGC 5272). We first discover clear extra-tidal structures with slight S-shape near the cluster. This inspires us to examine the existence of its long tidal tails. We highlight potential stream stars using proper motions (PMs) of a model stream combined with the cluster's locus in a color-magnitude diagram (CMD). A 35 deg long leading tail and a 21 deg long trailing tail are successfully detected at the same time. Their corresponding overdensities can be recognized in CMD and PM space after subtracting background. We estimate stream width, star number density and surface brightness for both tails, as well as the distance variation along the entire stream. We then verify the connection of M3 and the Sv\"{o}l stream. We report the discovery of a new stream (dubbed as Yangtze) detected in $Gaia$ Data Release 3. The stream is at a heliocentric distance of $\sim$ 9.12 kpc and spans nearly 27$\deg$ by 1.9$\deg$ on sky. The colour-magnitude diagram of Yangtze indicates a stellar population of Age $\sim$ 11 Gyr and [M/H] $\sim$ -0.7 dex. It has a number density of about 5.5 stars degree$^{-2}$ along with a surface brightness of $\Sigma_G \simeq$ 34.9 mag arcsec$^{-2}$. Context. Several dynamically cold streams have been associated with certain globular clusters (GCs) based on orbital energies and angular momenta. Some of these streams are surprisingly far apart from their progenitors and one such pair is Triangulum and NGC 5824. Triangulum can be considered as a piece of NGC 5824 leading tail since the cluster's future orbit matches with the stream's track well. The existence of the leading tail for NGC 5824 is the motivation behind the search for its trailing tail. Aims. Our goal is to confirm the connection between Triangulum and NGC 5824 and seek the trailing tail of the cluster. Methods. The selection of member stars of Triangulum is made through various cuts in metallicity, proper motions (PMs), radial velocity and color-magnitude diagram (CMD). The selected members are compared in phase space to a mock stream which models the disruption of NGC 5824. We then try to detect the trailing tail of the cluster based on a modified matched-filter technique. Stars are assigned weights using their color differences from the cluster's locus in CMD. These weights are further scaled based on stars' departures from expected PMs of the model stream. Results. A total of 26 member stars for Triangulum are obtained and 16 of them are newly identified. These members are consistent with the mock stream in the phase space and their metalicity and position on the CMD are in good agreements with NGC 5824. By applying the matched-filter, a tenuous trailing tail of the cluster is detected, spanning $\sim$ 50$^\circ$ long on sky. The signature matches with the mock stream's trajectory well. Conclusions. Our results support that Triangulum stream acts as a part of the leading tail for NGC 5824. On the trailing side, we have detected a 50$^\circ$ tail extended from the cluster. We report the discovery of a cold stream near the southern Galactic pole (dubbed as SGP-S) detected in $Gaia$ Early Data Release 3. The stream is at a heliocentric distance of $\sim$ 9.5 kpc and spans nearly 58$^\circ$ by 0.6$^\circ$ on sky. The colour-magnitude diagram of SGP-S indicates an old and metal-poor (age $\sim$ 12 Gyr, [M/H] $\sim$ -2.0 dex) stellar population. The stream's surface brightness reaches an exceedingly low level of $\Sigma_G \simeq$ 36.2 mag arcsec$^{-2}$. Neither extant globular clusters nor other known streams are associated with SGP-S.

By mining the data from $Gaia$ EDR3, SDSS/SEGUE DR16 and LAMOST DR8, 11 member stars of the NGC 5466 tidal stream are detected and 7 of them are newly identified. To reject contaminators, a variety of cuts are applied in sky position, color-magnitude diagram, metallicity, proper motion and radial velocity. We compare our data to a mock stream generated by modeling the cluster's disruption under a smooth Galactic potential plus the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). The concordant trends in phase-space between the model and observations imply that the stream might have been perturbed by LMC. The two most distant stars among 11 detected members trace the stream's length to $60^\circ$ of sky, supporting and extending the previous length of $45^\circ$. Given that NGC 5466 is so distant and potentially has a longer tail than previously thought, we expect that NGC 5466 tidal stream could be a useful tool in constraining the Milky Way gravitational field., Comment: accepted for publication in MNRAS

Lithium has confused scientists for decades at almost each scale of the universe. Lithium-rich giants are peculiar stars with lithium abundances over model prediction. A large fraction of lithium-rich low-mass evolved stars are traditionally supposed to be red giant branch (RGB) stars. Recent studies, however, report that red clump (RC) stars are more frequent than RGB. Here, we present a uniquely large systematic study combining the direct asteroseismic analysis with the spectroscopy on the lithium-rich stars. The majority of lithium-rich stars are confirmed to be RCs, whereas RGBs are minor. We reveal that the distribution of lithium-rich RGBs steeply decline with the increasing lithium abundance, showing an upper limit around 2.6 dex, whereas the Li abundances of RCs extend to much higher values. We also find that the distributions of mass and nitrogen abundance are notably different between RC and RGB stars. These findings indicate that there is still unknown process that significantly affects surface chemical composition in low-mass stellar evolution., Comment: 27 pages, 10 figures, 3 tables

A large number of new members ($\sim$150) of the Cetus Stream (CS) were identified from their clustering features in dynamical space using 6D kinematic data by combining LAMOST DR5 and Gaia DR2 surveys. They map a diffuse structure that extends over at least 100 degrees in the northern and southern Galactic hemispheres, at heliocentric distances between 20 to 50 kpc. Taking advantage of this expanded dataset, we model the stream with a suite of tailored N-body simulations. Our findings exclude the possibility that the NGC 5824 globular cluster is the core of the progenitor of the stream, as postulated by previous studies. Our best models, which successfully reproduce the features of the CS indicate that the progenitor is likely a dwarf galaxy of $\sim$ 2$\times$10$^9$M$_{\odot}$, with a diffuse disc morphology. The merger occured $\sim$ 5 Gyr ago and since then it has experienced approximately eight apo-center passages. Our results suggest that NGC 5824 was either a globular cluster situated off-centre in the dwarf progenitor or, alternatively, it was the nuclear star cluster of another dwarf galaxy that has very similar orbit as the progenitor of the CS. In both scenarios, the progenitor systems would leave streams around NGC 5824, but with distinct distance distributions. To discriminate between these scenarios, the detection and accurate distance measurements of the predicted stream around the GC are crucial, which will be possible in the upcoming LSST era. Our simulations also predict that part of the Southern Cetus stream is very likely the newly discovered Palca stream, and possibly related to another, more diffuse Southern substructure, the Eridanus-Pheonix overdensity., Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJ

In this paper, we report the discovery of a new late-B type unbound hyper-runaway star (LAMOST-HVS4) from the LAMOST spectroscopic surveys. According to its atmospheric parameters, it is either a B-type main sequence (MS) star or a blue horizontal branch (BHB) star. Its Galactocentric distance and velocity are 30.3 +/- 1.6 kpc and 586 +/- 7 km/s if it is an MS star, and they are 13.2 +/- 3.7 kpc and 590 +/- 7 km/s if a BHB star. We track its trajectories back, and find that the trajectories intersect with the Galactic disk and the Galactic center lies outside of the intersection region at the 3 sigma confidence level. We investigate a number of mechanisms that could be responsible for the ejection of the star, and find that it is probably ejected from the Galactic disk by supernova explosion or multiple-body interactions in dense young stellar clusters., Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, accepted by AJ

Using a machine learning (ML) method, we mine DB white dwarfs (DBWDs) from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release (DR) 12 and DR14. The ML method consists of two parts: feature extraction and classification. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) is used for the spectral feature extraction by comparing high quality data of a positive sample group with negative sample groups. In both the training and testing sets, the positive sample group is composed of a selection of 300 known DBWDs, while the negative sample groups are obtained from all types of SDSS spectra. In the space of the LASSO detected features, a support vector machine is then employed to build classifiers that are used to separate the DBWDs from the non DBWDs for each individual type. Depending on the classifiers, the DBWD candidates are selected from the entire SDSS dataset. After visual inspection, 2808 spectra (2029 objects) are spectroscopically confirmed. By checking the samples with the literature, there are 58 objects with 60 spectra that are newly identified, including a newly discovered AM CVn. We use the LAMOST spectra of member stars in Pleiades, M34, Praesepe, and Hyades to study how chromospheric activity vary as a function of mass and rotation at different age. We measured excess equivalent widths of H$\alpha$, H$\beta$, and Ca~{\sc ii} K based on estimated chromospheric contributions from old and inactive field dwarfs, and excess luminosities are obtained by normalizing bolometric luminosity, for more than 700 late-type stars in these open clusters. Results indicate two activity sequences in cool spot coverage and H$\alpha$ excess emission among GK dwarfs in Pleiades and M dwarfs in Praesepe and Hyades, paralleling with well known rotation sequences. A weak dependence of chromospheric emission on rotation exists among ultra fast rotators in saturated regime with Rossby number Ro$\lesssim0.1$. In the unsaturated regime, chromospheric and coronal emission show similar dependence on Ro, but with a shift toward larger Ro, indicating chromospheric emission gets easily saturated than coronal emission, and/or convective turnover time-scales based on X-ray data do not work well with chromospheric emission. More interestingly, our analysis show fully convective slow rotators obey the rotation-chromospheric activity relation similar to hotter stars, confirming the previous finding. We found correlations among H$\alpha$, H$\beta$, and Ca~{\sc ii} K emissions, in which H$\alpha$ losses are more important than Ca~{\sc ii} K for cooler and more active stars. In addition, a weak correlation is seen between chromospheric emission and photospheric activity that shows dependency on stellar spectral type and activity level, which provides some clues on how spot configuration vary as a function of mass and activity level., Comment: 21 pages

We use the spectra of Pleiades and field stars from LAMOST DR2 archive to study how spottedness and activity vary as a function of mass at young ages. We obtained standard TiO band strength by measuring TiO bands near 7050 $\AA$ from LAMOST spectra (R$\approx$1800) for large sample of field GKM dwarfs with solar metallicity. Analysis show that active dwarfs, including late G- and early K-type, have extra TiO absorption compare to inactive counterparts, indicating the presence of cool spots on their surface. Active late K- and M-dwarfs show deeper TiO2 and shallower TiO4 compare to inactive stars at a given TiO5, which could be partly explained through cool spots. We estimated cool spot fractional coverage for 304 Pleiades candidates by modelling their TiO2 (&TiO5) band strength with respect to standard value. Results show that surface of large fraction of K- and M-type members have very large spot coverage ($\sim$50%). We analysed a correlation between spot coverage, rotation and the amplitude of light variation, and found spot coverage on slow rotators ($R_{o}$ > 0.1) increases with decreasing Rossby Number $R_{o}$. Interestingly, we detected a saturation-like feature for spot coverage in fast rotators with a saturation level of 40%-50%. In addition, spot distribution in hotter fast rotators show more symmetrical compare to slow rotators. More interestingly, we detected large spot coverage in many M type members with no or little light variation.
