The heuristic optimization algorithm is a popular optimization method for solving optimization problems. However, the main disadvantage of this type of algorithm is the unstable performance, and the performance depends on the specific problem and the designer’s experience, so inappropriate algorithms or parameters will lead to poor performance for solving optimization. In this paper, a new meta-heuristic algorithm—bamboo forest growth optimization (BFGO) algorithm is proposed. The BFGO algorithm refers to the growth law of bamboo: first, take root clearly, and then grow wildly. The growth characteristics of bamboo forests and the optimization process of the algorithm are integrated, and the test is carried out on 30 functions of the CEC2017 test set, and the algorithm is applied to four classical problems of engineering optimization. Compared with well-known heuristic algorithms, the BFGO algorithm has better performance. &nbsp

Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the preequilibrium emission of neutron, proton, deuteron, triton, $^{3}$He, $\alpha$, $^{6}$Li, $^{7}$Li, $^{8}$Be and $^{9}$Be in the transfer reactions of $^{12}$C + $^{209}$Bi, $^{40,48}$Ca+$^{238}$U, $^{238}$U+$^{238}$U and $^{238}$U+$^{248}$Cm has been systematically investigated. The production rate, kinetic energy spectra and emission angular distribution are calculated. It is found that the preequilibrium emission mechanism is associated with the reaction system and beam energy. The preequilibrium cross sections of proton, deuteron, triton and alpha are comparable in magnitude. The reaction with $^{40}$Ca is favorable for the cluster emission in comparison with $^{48}$Ca on $^{238}$U at the near barrier energy. A broad angular distribution of the preequilibrium cluster is found in the heavy systems $^{238}$U+$^{238}$U and $^{238}$U+$^{248}$Cm., Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures

Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the influence of mass asymmetry and the isospin effect on the production of exotic actinides have been investigated systematically. The isotopic yields populate in multinucleon transfer reactions of Ca(48), Kr(86), Xe(136), and U(238) bombarding on Cm(248) are analyzed and compared to the available experimental data. Systematics on the production of unknown actinides from Ac to Lr via the available stable elements on the earth (from Ar to U) as projectiles-induced reactions with $^{232}$Th, $^{238}$U and $^{248}$Cm are investigated thoroughly. Potential energy surface and total kinetic energy distribution for the reaction system are calculated and can be used to predict the production cross-section trends. It is found that the heavier projectile leads to the wider isotopic chain distribution for the same target. The heavier target-based reactions prefer to produce plenty of exotic actinides through both mechanisms of deep-inelastic and quasi-fission reactions. Isospin relaxation plays a crucial role in the colliding process, resulting in actinide isotopic distribution tends to shift to the drip lines. Massive new actinides have been predicted at the level of nanobarn to millibarn. In order to investigate the elastic scattering, we fit scattering observables of the weighted fits (WF16) with the relativistic Love-Franey (RLF) model. The masses, cutoff parameters, and initial coupling strengths of RLF are assumed to be independent of energy. Because the energy boundary between low energy and high energy is around 200 MeV, the masses, cutoff parameters, and initial coupling strengths of RLF are obtained by fitting scattering observables of WF16 at an incident energy of 200 MeV. With the masses, cutoff parameters, and initial coupling strengths as the input, the energy-dependent RLF model is constructed over the laboratory energy range of 20 to 800 MeV within a unified fit. To examine the validity of this fit, we investigate p+ elastic scattering for various energies. Although the scattering observables of pp and pn of 200 MeV best fit the values of WF16, the RLF model of 200 MeV without the Pauli blocking (PB) corrections fails to describe the experimental differential cross sections, analyzing powers, and spinrotation functions. When the PB corrections are taken into account for various energies, the RLF model can well describe the experimental data of p+ elastic scattering.

Transport models are the main method to obtain physics information from low to relativistic-energy heavy-ion collisions. The Transport Model Evaluation Project (TMEP) has been pursued to test the robustness of transport model predictions in reaching consistent conclusions from the same type of physical model. Calculations under controlled conditions of physical input and set-up were performed with various participating codes. These included both calculations of nuclear matter in a box with periodic boundary conditions, and more realistic calculations of heavy-ion collisions. In this intermediate review, we summarize and discuss the present status of the project. We also provide condensed descriptions of the 26 participating codes, which contributed to some part of the project. These include the major codes in use today. We review the main results of the studies completed so far. They show, that in box calculations the differences between the codes can be well understood and a convergence of the results can be reached. These studies also highlight the systematic differences between the two families of transport codes, known as BUU and QMD type codes. However, when the codes were compared in full heavy-ion collisions using different physical models, as recently for pion production, they still yielded substantially different results. This calls for further comparisons of heavy-ion collisions with controlled models and of box comparisons of important ingredients, like momentum-dependent fields, which are currently underway. We often indicate improved strategies in performing transport simulations and thus provide guidance to code developers. A new polymer black hole solution in loop quantum gravity was proposed recently. The difference between the polymer black hole and Schwarzschild black hole is captured by a quantum parameter $A$. In order to get the constraints on parameter $A$, we consider the observational constraints imposed on $A$ by using the Solar System experiments and calculate the deflection of light, Shapiro time delay, perihelion precession and obtain the effects associated with parameter $A$. Moreover, the parameterized post-Newtonian approach of this loop quantum gravity black hole was also carried out. The fusion dynamics on the formation of superheavy nuclei is investigated thoroughly within the dinuclear system model. The Monte Carlo approach is implemented into the nucleon transfer process for including all possible orientations, at which the dinuclear system is assumed to be formed at the touching configuration of dinuclear fragments. The production cross sections of superheavy nuclei Cn, Fl, Lv, Ts and Og are calculated and compared with the available data from Dubna. The evaporation residue excitation functions in the channels of pure neutrons and charged particles are analyzed systematically. The combinations with $^{44}$Sc, $^{48,50}$Ti, $^{49,51}$V, $^{52,54}$Cr, $^{58,62}$Fe and $^{62,64}$Ni bombarding the actinide nuclides $^{238}$U, $^{244}$Pu, $^{248}$Cm, $^{247,249}$Bk, $^{249,251}$Cf, $^{252}$Es and $^{243}$Am are calculated for producing the superheavy elements with Z=119-122. It is found that the production cross sections sensitively depend on the neutron richness of reaction system. Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the production mechanism of neutron-rich heavy nuclei around N = 162 has been investigated systematically. The isotopic yields in the multinucleon transfer reaction of $^{238}$U + $^{248}$Cm was analyzed and compared the available experimental data. Systematics on the production of superheavy nuclei via $^{238}$U on $^{252,254}$Cf, $^{254}$Es and $^{257}$Fm is investigated. It is found that the shell effect is of importance in the formation of neutron-rich nuclei around N=162 owing to the enhancement of fission barrier. The fragments in the multinucleon transfer reactions manifest the broad isotopic distribution and are dependent on the beam energy. The polar angles of the fragments tend to the forward emission with increasing the beam energy. The production cross sections of new isotopes are estimated and heavier targets are available for the neutron-rich superheavy nucleus formation. The optimal system and beam energy are proposed for the future experimental measurements., 10 pages, 8 figures

Within the transport model evaluation project (TMEP) of simulations for heavy-ion collisions, the mean-field response is examined here. Specifically, zero-sound propagation is considered for neutron-proton symmetric matter enclosed in a periodic box, at zero temperature and around normal density. The results of several transport codes belonging to two families (BUU-like and QMD-like) are compared among each other and to exact calculations. For BUU-like codes, employing the test particle method, the results depend on the combination of the number of test particles and the spread of the profile functions that weight integration over space. These parameters can be properly adapted to give a good reproduction of the analytical zero-sound features. QMD-like codes, using molecular dynamics methods, are characterized by large damping effects, attributable to the fluctuations inherent in their phase-space representation. Moreover, for a given nuclear effective interaction, they generally lead to slower density oscillations, as compared to BUU-like codes. The latter problem is mitigated in the more recent lattice formulation of some of the QMD codes. The significance of these results for the description of real heavy-ion collisions is discussed.

Within the framework of quantum molecular dynamics transport model, the isospin and in-medium effects on the hyperon production in the reaction of $^{197}$Au + $^{197}$Au are investigated thoroughly. A repulsive hyperon-nucleon potential from the chiral effective field theory is implemented into the model, which is related to the hyperon momentum and baryon density. The correction on threshold energy of the elementary hyperon cross section is taken into account. It is found that the $\Sigma$ yields are suppressed in the domain of midrapidity and kinetic energy spectra with the potential. The hyperons are emitted in the reaction plane because of the strangeness exchange reaction and reabsorption process in nuclear medium. The $\Sigma^{-}/\Sigma^{+}$ ratio depends on the stiffness of nuclear symmetry energy, in particular in the high-energy region (above 500 MeV)., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures

Using the two-fluid Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation, the properties of dark matter (DM) admixed neutron stars (DANSs) have been investigated. In contrast to previous studies, we find that an increase in the maximum mass and a decrease in the radius of 1.4 NSs can occur simultaneously in DANSs. This stems from the ability of the equation of state (EOS) for DM to be very soft at low density but very stiff at high density. It is well known that the IU-FSU and XS models are unable to produce a neutron star (NS) with a maximum mass greater than 2.0 . However, by considering the IU-FSU and XS models for DANSs, there are interactions with DM that can produce a maximum mass greater than 2.0 and a radius of 1.4 NSs below 13.7 km. When considering a DANS, the difference between DM with chiral symmetry (DMC) and DM with meson exchange (DMM) becomes obvious when the central energy density of DM is greater than that of nuclear matter (NM). In this case, the DMC model with a DM mass of 1000 MeV can still produce a maximum mass greater than 2.0 and a radius of a 1.4 NS below 13.7 km. Additionally, although the maximum mass of the DANS using the DMM model is greater than 2.0 , the radius of a 1.4 NS can surpass 13.7 km. In the two-fluid system, the maximum mass of a DANS can be larger than 3.0 . Consequently, the dimensionless tidal deformability of a DANS with 1.4 , which increases with increasing maximum mass, may be larger than 800 when the radius of the 1.4 DANS is approximately 13.0 km.

The dynamics of light hypernuclei and nuclear clusters produced in $^{197}$Au+$^{197}$Au collisions has been investigated thoroughly with a microscopic transport model. All possible channels of hyperon production and transportation of hyperons in nuclear medium are implemented into the model. The light complex fragments are recognized with the Wigner density approach at the stage of freeze out in nuclear collisions. The isospin diffusion in the collisions is responsible for the neutron-rich cluster formation. The collective flows of nuclear clusters are consistent with the experimental data from FOPI collaboration. It is found that the influence of the hyperon-nucleon potential on the free hyperons is negligible, but available for the light hypernuclide formation. The directed and elliptic flows of $^{3}_{\Lambda}$H and $^{4}_{\Lambda}$H at incident energies of 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 and 4 GeV/nucleon are investigated thoroughly and manifest the same structure with the nuclear clusters. Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the reaction mechanism for producing the proton-rich actinide isotopes $Z=93--100$ near the proton drip line is thoroughly investigated in the fusion reactions with $^{24}\mathrm{Mg}, ^{28}\mathrm{Si}, ^{32}\mathrm{S}, ^{36,40}\mathrm{Ar}$, and $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$ bombarding the target nuclei $^{181}\mathrm{Ta}, ^{180}\mathrm{W}, ^{185}\mathrm{Re}, ^{184}\mathrm{Os}, ^{191}\mathrm{Ir}, ^{190}\mathrm{Pt}, ^{197}\mathrm{Au}, ^{196}\mathrm{Hg}, ^{203}\mathrm{Tl}, ^{204}\mathrm{Pb}$, and $^{209}\mathrm{Bi}$, and in the multinucleon transfer reactions with proton-rich radioactive beams $^{59}\mathrm{Cu}, ^{69}\mathrm{As}, ^{90}\mathrm{Nb}, ^{91}\mathrm{Tc}, ^{94}\mathrm{Rh}, ^{105,110}\mathrm{Sn}$, and $^{118}\mathrm{Xe}$ on $^{238}\mathrm{U}$ near Coulomb barrier energies. The production cross sections of new proton-rich isotopes in the fusion-evaporation reactions and fragment yields in the multinucleon transfer reactions are estimated systematically and compared in both reaction mechanisms, in which a statistical approach is used to describe the decay process of excited nuclei. A dynamical deformation is implemented in the model in the dissipation process. It is found that charged particle evaporation channels (alpha and proton) dominate in the decay process of proton-rich nuclides. The fusion-evaporation reactions are favorable to produce the new neutron-deficient actinide isotopes. The total kinetic energies and angular spectra of primary fragments in multinucleon transfer reactions are strongly dependent on colliding orientations and incident energies.

Strange particles and hyperfragments in collisions of antiprotons and protons on nuclei have been investigated systematically within a microscopic transport model. The hyperons are produced from the annihilation in antibaryon-baryon collisions and strangeness exchange process in antiproton induced reactions. A coalescence approach is used for constructing the primary hyperfragments in phase space and the statistical model is modified for describing the decay of hyperfragments via evaporating hyperon, neutron, charged particles etc, in which the shell effect, binding energy and root-mean-square radii are taken into account. It is found that the influence of the hyperon-nucleon interaction on the free $\Lambda$ and $\Xi^{-}$ production is negligible. However, the large hyperfragment yields are obvious with the attractive potential. The production of double strangeness hyperfragments are reduced below 1$\mu b$ in comparison to the yields of $\Lambda$-hyperfragments with the cross sections of 0.05-0.1 mb in the antiproton induced reactions on $^{63}$Cu at the incident momenta of 1-5 GeV/c. The light hyperfragments are formed in the dynamical fragmentation process. The energy dependence of hyperfragment formation is weak once the incident energy above the threshold energy for the hyperon production., Comment: 10 pages, 9 figures

Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, the multinucleon transfer dynamics for nearly symmetric nuclear collisions has been investigated. The reaction mechanism in the systems of $$^{198}\hbox {Pt}+^{198}\hbox {Pt}$$ and $$^{204}\hbox {Hg}+^{198}\hbox {Pt}$$ was investigated at beam energies around the Coulomb barrier. It was found that the isotopic yields are enhanced with increased incident energy in the domain of proton-rich nuclides. However, the production on the neutron-rich side weakly depends on the energy. The angular distribution with the beam energy was also analyzed in the multinucleon transfer reactions. Projectile-like fragments were produced toward the forward emission with increasing incident energy. The target-like fragments manifested the opposite trend in the transfer reactions.

The dynamical mechanism of multinucleon transfer (MNT) reactions has been investigated within the dinuclear system (DNS) model, in which the sequential nucleon transfer is described by solving a set of microscopically derived master equations. Production cross sections, total kinetic energy spectra, angular distribution of formed fragments in the reactions of $^{124,132}$Sn+ $^{238}$U/$^{248}$Cm near Coulomb barrier energies are thoroughly analyzed. It is found that the total kinetic energies of primary fragments are dissipated from the relative motion energy and rotational energy of the two colliding nuclei. The fragments are formed in the forward angle domain. The energy dependence of the angular spectra is different between projectile-like and target-like fragments. Isospin equilibrium is governed under the potential energy surface. The dynamics of exotic hypernuclei in heavy-ion collisions has been investigated thoroughly with a microscopic transport model. All possible channels on hyperon ($\Lambda$, $\Sigma$ and $\Xi$) production near threshold energies are implemented in the transport model. The light complex fragments (Z$\leq$2) are constructed with the Wigner-function method. The classical phase-space coalescence is used for recognizing heavy nuclear and hyperfragments and the statistical model is taken for describing the decay process. The nuclear fragmentation reactions of the available experimental data from the ALADIN collaboration are well reproduced by the combined approach. It is found that the in-medium potentials of strange particles influence the strangeness production and fragment formation. The hyperfragments are mainly created in the projectile or target-like rapidity region and the yields are reduced about the 3-order magnitude in comparison to the nuclear fragments. The hypernuclear dynamics of HypHI data is well described with the model. The possible experiments for producing the neutron-rich hyperfragments at the high-intensity heavy-ion accelerator facility (HIAF) are discussed., Comment: 8 pages, 8 figures

Within the framework of the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics model, the deep subthreshold antiproton production in heavy-ion collisions has been investigated thoroughly. The elastic scattering, annihilation and charge exchange reactions associated with antiproton channels are implemented in the model. The attractive antiproton potential extracted from the G-parity transformation of the nucleon selfenergies enhance the antiproton yields to some extent. The calculated invariant spectra are consistent with the available experimental data. The primordial antiproton yields increase with the mass number of colliding system. However, the annihilation reactions reduce the antiproton production and enable independent to colliding partners. Antiflow phenomena of antiprotons correlated to the mean-field potential and annihilation mechanism is found in comparison with proton flows., 7 pages, 6 figures

Formation mechanism of hyperfragments with strangeness s=-1 and s=-2 in collisions of antikaons on nuclei has been investigated within a microscopic transport model. Dynamics of pseudoscalar mesons and hyperons is modeled within the transport model, in which all possible reaction channels for creating hyperons such as the elastic scattering, resonance production and decay, strangeness exchange reaction and direct strangeness production in meson-baryon and baryon-baryon collisions have been included. A coalescence approach is developed for constructing hyperfragments in phase space and the decay process is described with a statistical approach. It is found that the $\Xi^{-}$ production is correlated to the K$^{+}$ formation and the hyperons $\Lambda$ and $\Sigma$ are created within a broad rapidity region. The production cross sections of nucleonic fragments and hyperfragments weakly depends on the incident momentum. The yields of $\Lambda-$ hyperfragments are the six order of magnitude of $\Xi^{-}-$ hyperfragments., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

The mechanism of multinucleon transfer reactions has been investigated within the dinuclear system model, in which the sequential nucleon transfer is described by solving a set of microscopically derived master equations. The transfer dynamics in the reaction of $${^{136}}{\mathrm{Xe}}+{^{208}}{\mathrm{Pb}}$$ near Coulomb barrier energies is thoroughly analyzed. It is found that the total kinetic energies of primary fragments are dissipated from the relative motion energy of two touching nuclei and exhibit a symmetric distribution along the fragment mass. The angular distribution of the projectile-like fragments moves forward with increasing beam energy. However, the target-like fragments exhibit an opposite trend. The shell effect is pronounced due to the fragment yields in multinucleon transfer reactions.

We compare ten transport codes for a system confined in a box, aiming at improved handling of the production of $\Delta$ resonances and pions, which is indispensable for constraining high-density symmetry energy from observables such as the $\pi^-/\pi^+$ yield ratio in heavy-ion collisions. The system in a box is initialized with nucleons at saturation density and at 60 MeV temperature. The reactions $NN\leftrightarrow N\Delta$ and $\Delta\leftrightarrow N\pi$ are implemented, but the Pauli blocking and the mean-field potential are deactivated in the present comparison. Results are compared to those from the two reference cases of a chemically equilibrated ideal gas mixture and of the rate equation. In the results of the numbers of $\Delta$ and $\pi$, deviations from the reference values are observed in many codes, and they depend significantly on the size of the time step. These deviations are tied to different ways in ordering the sequence of collisions and decays, that take place in the same time step. Better agreements are seen in the reaction rates and the number ratios among the isospin species of $\Delta$ and $\pi$. These are, however, affected by the correlations, which are absent in the Boltzmann equation, but are induced by the way particle scatterings are treated in transport calculations. The uncertainty in the transport-code predictions of the $\pi^-/\pi^+$ ratio for the system initialized at n/p = 1.5, after letting the existing $\Delta$ resonances decay, is found to be within a few percent, which is sufficiently small so that it does not strongly impact constraining the high-density symmetry energy from heavy-ion collisions. Most of the sources of uncertainties have been understood, and individual codes may be further improved. Simulations by transport codes are indispensable to extract valuable physics information from heavy ion collisions. In order to understand the origins of discrepancies between different widely used transport codes, we compare 15 such codes under controlled conditions of a system confined to a box with periodic boundary, initialized with Fermi-Dirac distributions at saturation density and temperatures of either 0 or 5 MeV. In such calculations, one is able to check separately the different ingredients of a transport code. In this second publication of the code evaluation project, we only consider the two-body collision term, i.e. we perform cascade calculations. When the Pauli blocking is artificially suppressed, the collision rates are found to be consistent for most codes (to within $1\%$ or better) with analytical results, or completely controlled results of a basic cascade code after eliminating the correlations within the same pair of colliding particles. In calculations with active Pauli blocking, the blocking probability was found to deviate from the expected reference values. The reason is found in substantial phase-space fluctuations and smearing tied to numerical algorithms and model assumptions in the representation of phase space. This results in the reduction of the blocking probability in most transport codes, so that the simulated system gradually evolves away from the Fermi-Dirac towards a Boltzmann distribution. As a result of this investigation, we are able to make judgements about the most effective strategies in transport simulations for determining the collision probabilities and the Pauli blocking. Investigation in a similar vein of other ingredients in transport calculations, like the mean field propagation or the production of nucleon resonances and mesons, will be discussed in the future publications., Comment: 23 pages, 10 figures. Recent progress of the quantum molecular dynamics model for describing the dynamics of heavy-ion collisions is viewed, in particular the nuclear fragmentation, isospin physics, particle production and in-medium effect, hadron-induced nuclear reactions, hypernucleus etc. The neck fragmentation in Fermi-energy heavy-ion collisions is investigated for extracting the symmetry energy at subsaturation densities. The isospin effects, in-medium properties and the behavior of high-density symmetry energy in medium and high energy heavy-ion collisions are thoroughly discussed. The hypernuclide dynamics formed in heavy-ion collisions and in hadron induced reactions is analyzed and addressed in the future experiments at the High-Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF)., 31 pages, 27 figures (review article)

The inclusive spectra of preequilibrium nucleons produced in low-energy antiproton-nucleus collisions are thoroughly investigated within the framework of the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics model for the first time. All possible reaction channels such as elastic scattering, annihilation, charge exchange and inelastic scattering in antibaryon-baryon, baryon-baryon and meson-baryon collisions have been included in the transport model. The unexpected neutron/proton ratio in comparison to the pion and proton induced reactions is caused from the isospin effects of pion-nucleon collisions and the density dependence of symmetry energy. It is found that the $\pi^{-}$-neutron collisions enhance the neutron emission in the antiproton annihilation in a nucleus. Different to heavy-ion collisions, the isospin effects are pronounced at the low kinetic energies. A soft symmetry energy with the stiffness of $\gamma_{s}=$0.5 at subsaturation densities is constrained from the available data of the neutron/proton spectra., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures

The dynamics of $ \eta$ meson produced in heavy-ion collisions has been investigated within the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics model (LQMD). The in-medium corrections have been considered in the model, in which an attractive $ \eta$ -nucleon potential is implemented. The impacts of the $ \eta$ optical potential and the nuclear symmetry energy on the $ \eta$ dynamics are investigated. It is found that the total yields are slightly influenced by the potential and weakly depend on the symmetry energy. However, the structure of the kinetic spectra is related to the optical potential and the stiffness of symmetry energy. The attractive potential leads to the reduction of high-momentum (kinetic energy) $ \eta$ production, i.e., the spectra of momentum and transverse mass distributions, increasing the reabsorption process by surrounding nucleons, and favoring the in-plane eta emissions. The reabsorption process in $ \eta$ -nucleon collisions plays a significant role on the $ \eta$ dynamics.

Within the framework of the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics (LQMD) transport model, the nuclear fragmentation induced by low-energy antiprotons has been investigated thoroughly. A coalescence approach is developed for constructing the primary fragments in phase space. The secondary decay process of the fragments is described by the well-known statistical code. It is found that the localized energy released in antibaryon-baryon annihilation is deposited in a nucleus mainly via pion-nucleon collisions, which leads to the emissions of pre-equilibrium particles, fission, evaporation of nucleons and light fragments etc. The strangeness exchange reactions dominate the hyperon production. The averaged mass loss increases with the mass number of target nucleus. A bump structure in the domain of intermediate mass for heavy targets appears owing to the contribution of fission fragments., 9 pages, 12 figures

Within the framework of the dinuclear system model, production cross sections of proton-rich nuclei with charged numbers of Z=84-90 are investigated systematically. Possible combinations with the $^{28}$Si, $^{32}$S, $^{40}$Ar bombarding the target nuclides $^{165}$Ho, $^{169}$Tm, $^{170-174}$Yb, $^{175,176}$Lu, $^{174,176-180}$Hf and $^{181}$Ta are analyzed thoroughly. The optimal excitation energies and evaporation channels are proposed to produce the proton-rich nuclei. The systems are feasible to be constructed in experiments. It is found that the neutron shell closure of N=126 is of importance during the evaporation of neutrons. The experimental excitation functions in the $^{40}$Ar induced reactions can be nicely reproduced. The charged particle evaporation is comparable with neutrons in cooling the excited proton-rich nuclei, in particular for the channels with $\alpha$ and proton evaporation. The production cross section increases with the mass asymmetry of colliding systems because of the decrease of the inner fusion barrier. The channels with pure neutron evaporation depend on the isotopic targets. Dynamics of the nuclear fragmentations and the charge exchange reactions in pion-nucleus collisions near the $\Delta$(1232) resonance energies has been investigated within the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics (LQMD) transport model. An isospin, momentum and density-dependent pion-nucleon potential is implemented in the model, which influences the pion dynamics, in particular the kinetic energy spectra, but weakly impacts the fragmentation mechanism. The absorption process in pion-nucleon collisions to form the $\Delta$(1232) resonance dominates the heating mechanism of target nucleus. The excitation energy transferred to the target nucleus increases with the pion kinetic energy and is similar for both $\pi^{-}$ and $\pi^{+}$ induced reactions. The magnitude of fragmentation of target nucleus weakly depends on the pion energy. This review is focused on the low energy part of the QCD phase diagram, the properties of the nuclear matter with high baryon density which could be experimentally studied at the large scale facility for nuclear physics in China, such as the split of nucleon effect mass, symmetric energy of high baryon density nuclear matter, the properties of hadrons in the nuclear medium. The properties of nuclear matter with high baryon density and the resonance states of hadron have been studied theoretically and some physical observables related to the properties of nuclear matter with high baryon density are pointed out under the heavy ion collisions with the energy at the region of 0.5–1.2 GeV/u. The existing experimental setup at HIRFL-CSR has been improved and a test experiment has been performed. The results show the ability to explore the properties of the nuclear matter with high baryon density. Our studies are helpful to design and built a professional spectrometer for the low energy part of the QCD phase diagram in the near future.

Strangeness (K$^{0,+}$, $\Lambda$ and $\Sigma^{-,0,+}$) production in heavy-ion collisions near threshold energies has been investigated within the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics (LQMD) transport model. The kaon (anti-kaon)-nucleon and hyperon-nucleon potentials in dense nuclear matter are implemented in the model, which are computed from the chiral perturbation approach and the relativistic mean-field model, respectively. It is found that the in-medium potentials change the structure of transverse flow, and also affect the rapidity distributions and the inclusive spectra for strangeness production. The local temperature of the fire ball extracted from the kaon spectra of inclusive invariant cross sections is influenced by the kaon-nucleon potential. The stiffness of nuclear symmetry energy and the kaon-nucleon potential by distinguishing isospin effect play a significant role on the ratio of K$^{0}$/K$^{+}$, in particular at the subthreshold energies. Within the framework of the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics (LQMD) transport model, the isospin effect in peripheral heavy-ion collisions has been investigated thoroughly. A coalescence approach is used for recognizing the primary fragments formed in nucleus-nucleus collisions. The secondary decay process of the fragments is described by the statistical code, GEMINI. Production mechanism and isospin effect of the projectile-like and target-like fragments are analyzed with the combined approach. It is found that the isospin migration from the high-isospin density to the low-density matter takes place in the neutron-rich nuclear reactions, i.e., $^{48}$Ca+$^{208}$Pb, $^{86}$Kr+$^{48}$Ca/$^{208}$Pb/$^{124}$Sn, $^{136}$Xe+$^{208}$Pb, $^{124}$Sn+$^{124}$Sn and $^{136}$Xe+$^{136}$Xe. A hard symmetry energy is available for creating the neutron-rich fragments, in particular in the medium-mass region. The isospin effect of the neutron to proton (n/p) ratio of the complex fragments is reduced once including the secondary decay process. The dynamics of $\eta$ meson produced in proton-induced nuclear reactions via the decay of N$^{\ast}(1535)$ has been investigated within the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics transport model (LQMD). The in-medium modifications of the $\eta$ production in dense nuclear matter are included in the model, in which an attractive $\eta$-nucleon potential is implemented. The impact of the $\eta$ optical potential on the $\eta$ dynamics is investigated. Transport simulations are very valuable for extracting physics information from heavy-ion-collision experiments. With the emergence of many different transport codes in recent years, it becomes important to estimate their robustness in extracting physics information from experiments. We report on the results of a transport-code-comparison project. Eighteen commonly used transport codes were included in this comparison: nine Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck-type codes and nine quantum-molecular-dynamics-type codes. These codes have been asked to simulate Au + Au collisions using the same physics input for mean fields and for in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross sections, as well as the same impact parameter, the similar initialization setup, and other calculational parameters at 100 A and 400 A MeV incident energy. Among the codes we compare one-body observables such as rapidity and transverse flow distributions. We also monitor nonobservables such as the initialization of the internal states of colliding nuclei and their stability, the collision rates, and the Pauli blocking. We find that not completely identical initializations may have contributed partly to different evolutions. Different strategies to determine the collision probabilities and to enforce the Pauli blocking also produce considerably different results. There is a substantial spread in the predictions for the observables, which is much smaller at the higher incident energy. We quantify the uncertainties in the collective flow resulting from the simulation alone as about 30% at 100 A MeV and 13% at 400 A MeV, respectively. We propose further steps within the code comparison project to test the different aspects of transport simulations in a box calculation of infinite nuclear matter. This should, in particular, improve the robustness of transport model predictions at lower incident energies, where abundant amounts of data are available.

Within the framework of the Lanzhou quantum molecular dynamics (LQMD) transport model, pion dynamics in heavy-ion collisions near threshold energies and the emission of preequilibrium particles (nucleons and light complex fragments) have been investigated. A density, momentum and isospin dependent pion-nucleon potential based on the $\Delta$-hole model is implemented in the transport approach, which slightly leads to the increase of the $\pi^{-}/\pi^{+}$ ratio, but reduces the total pion yields. It is found that a bump structure of the $\pi^{-}/\pi^{+}$ ratio in the kinetic energy spectra appears at the pion energy close to the $\Delta$(1232) resonance region. The multinucleon transfer reactions has been investigated within the dinuclear system model. The nucleon transfer is coupled to the dissipation of relative motion energy and angular momentum by solving a set of microscopically derived master equations. A barrier distribution approach is implemented in the model in order to including the contributions of different orientations and dynamical effects. The available data of fragment production via multinucleon transfer reactions could be understood with the model for the reactions of $^{136}$Xe + $^{198}$Pt/$^{208}$Pb near Coulomb barrier energies. It is found that the production of heavy neutron-rich nuclei weakly depends on the incident energy.
