Abstract

Antioxidants (antioxidants, oxidation inhibitors) reduce oxidative processes in products, thereby slowing down the rancidity of oils, fats and products containing them [1]. The determination of antioxidants in oil and fat products is of great importance for identifying the functional purpose and determining the quality of oils and fats for special purposes [2]. The study is devoted to the modernization of the method for the quantitative determination of antioxidants in vegetable oils and fats using gas chromatography with a flame ionization detector. Abstract

Information accumulated over the past decades on the physiological functions and metabolic pathways of biosynthesis and degradation of D-amino acids has led to a renewed interest in their study. These isomers are known to form both in nature and during the chemical synthesis of L-amino acids for feeding and pharmacological purposes, as well as in the industrial processing of some raw materials. This article discusses the positive and negative effects of D-amino acids on the human body, animals and the environment. Abstract

Normal human CD4+ T-lymphocytes can undergo malignant transformation during prolong cultivation in conditions of high endonuclease G (EndoG) expression or after DNA damage. The aim of this work was to study biochemical and cytogenetic features of transformed ex vivo human malignant CD4+ T- lymphocytes, as well as biochemical and morphological characteristics of tumors that develop in athymic mice after transplantation of these cells. The telomerase activity was higher and telomere length was shorter in tumor cells than in control cells. Transformed malignant cells exhibited a high level of chromosomal aberrations. Expression of genes regulating the cell cycle changed in transformed malignant CD4+ T-lymphocytes and tumor cells. The tumors that developed were classified as multicomponent Т-cell lymphomas and panniculitis-like T-cell lymphomas. Thus, transformed CD4+ T-lymphocytes can generate malignant tumors of various histogenesis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

We investigate new method for calculation of radiance of scattering medium by bi-directional Monte-Carlo ray tracing with photon maps. Usually photons are collected by an integration spheres at the ends of camera ray segments, or a cylinder along that segments. Meanwhile in our method several integration spheres are distributed at random along the first camera ray segment. The rest segments do not collecting photons. The method optimal for a particular scene is the one which produces the least noise, so one need to be able to estimate it. In this paper an analytic calculation of noise in the general bi-directional Monte-Carlo ray tracing is derived and then applied to the proposed method. Then the analytic estimates of noise can be used to find optimal parameters and/or to choose between single integration sphere, multiple integration spheres and integration cylinders. Abstract

We propose and investigate calculation of the radiance of scattering medium using an extension of bi-directional Monte-Carlo ray tracing with photon maps. In the standard approach photons are collected either by an integration sphere at the end of camera ray segment, or by a cylinder along it. We propose an extension of random ray generation which sets several integration spheres per segment of camera ray. Their positions and number are random. The control parameter is their mean number per segment; when it is 0, we have the standard method with single sphere while when it gets very large we effectively obtain the integration cylinder. Although in case of multiple spheres the noise for the same number of traced rays is higher than for integration cylinders, processing of forward rays is not that expensive, so for the same time of ray tracing the multiple spheres are advantageous. The control parameter allows to achieve minimal noise by finding the compromise between the speed of ray tracing and the noise per given number of rays. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
