Abstract

In this paper, we propose a rate-splitting design and characterize the sum-degrees-of-freedom (DoF) for the K-user multiple-input-single-output (MISO) broadcast channel with mixed channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) and order-(K-1) messages, where mixed CSIT refers to the delayed and imperfect-current CSIT, and order-(K-1) message refers to the message desired by K-1 users simultaneously. In particular, for the sum-DoF lower bound, we propose a rate-splitting scheme embedding with retrospective interference alignment. In addition, we propose a matching sum-DoF upper bound via genie signalings and extremal inequality. Opposed to existing works for K=2, our results show that the sum-DoF is saturated with CSIT quality when CSIT quality thresholds are satisfied for K>2., Comment: This work has been accepted by VTC2023-Fall

Abstract

With delayed and imperfect current channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT), namely mixed CSIT, the sum degrees-of-freedom (sum-DoF) in the two-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) broadcast channel and the $K$-user multiple-input single-output (MISO) broadcast channel with not-less-than-$K$ transmit antennas have been obtained. However, the case of the three-user broadcast channel with two transmit antennas and mixed CSIT is still unexplored. In this paper, we investigate the sum-DoF upper bound of three-user MISO broadcast channel with two transmit antennas and mixed CSIT. By exploiting genie-aided signaling and extremal inequalities, we derive the sum-DoF upper bound as $(1-\alpha)3/2 + 9\alpha/4$, which is at most $12.5\%$ larger than the expected sum-DoF, given by $(1-\alpha)3/2 + 2\alpha$. Abstract

An active reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has been shown to be able to enhance the sum-of-degrees-of-freedom (DoF) of a two-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) interference channel (IC) with equal number of antennas at each transmitter and receiver. However, for any number of receive and transmit antennas, when and how an active RIS can help to improve the sum-DoF are still unclear. This paper studies the sum-DoF of an active RIS-assisted two-user MIMO IC with arbitrary antenna configurations. In particular, RIS beamforming, transmit zero-forcing, and interference decoding are integrated together to combat the interference problem. In order to maximize the achievable sum-DoF, an integer optimization problem is formulated to optimize the number of eliminating interference links by RIS beamforming. As a result, the derived achievable sum-DoF can be higher than the sum-DoF of two-user MIMO IC, leading to a RIS gain. 12. 3D free thermal bending of BR1500HS high-strength steel tube: Simulation and experimental investigation

Abstract

Ultra-high strength steel (UHSS) pipes find widespread application in the automotive industry. To address the challenges associated with forming complex structural parts from UHSS pipes, the three-dimensional free thermal bending (3D-FTB) technology for UHSS pipes based on a robotic arm and a bending roller mold was firstly developed. A finite element simulation prediction model for accurately describing the forming process is established and discussed. In this paper, the thermal-mechanical coupling model of the material is established by Gleeble thermal tensile test and modified Arrhenius model. The effects of parameters such as current frequency, current density, axial feed rate, and quenching conditions on forming temperature and microstructure transformation are thoroughly investigated via finite element simulation analysis. The mechanical properties and potential defects of the pipe fittings after forming are analyzed and validated experimentally. The results demonstrate that the finite element simulation and analysis method based on the thermal-force coupling model of the BR1500HS UHSS pipe can accurately predict the forming process parameters. The optimal process conditions are identified as follows: current frequency of 55 kHz, current density of 650 A/mm2, and feed rate of 8 mm/s. Under these parameters, the austenite transformation rate of the pipe fittings reaches an impressive 98 % and the maximum tensile strength reaches 1540 MPa. Lastly, the overall wall thickness distortion rate of the formed pipe remains below 0.2 % and the bending rebound angle exhibits an average reduction of over 80 % compared to that under room temperature conditions.

Abstract

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been recently recognized as playing a role in the pathogenesis of vascular remodeling-related diseases by modulating the functions of miRNAs. However, the interplay between circRNAs and proteins during vascular remodeling remains poorly understood. Here, we investigated a previously identified circRNA, circEsyt2, whose expression is known to be upregulated during vascular remodeling. Loss- and gain-of‑function mutation analyses in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) revealed that circEsyt2 enhanced cell proliferation and migration and inhibited apoptosis and differentiation. Furthermore, the silencing of circEsyt2 in vivo reduced neointima formation, while circEsyt2 overexpression enhanced neointimal hyperplasia in the injured carotid artery, confirming its role in vascular remodeling. Using unbiased protein-RNA screening and molecular validation, circEsyt2 was found to directly interact with polyC-binding protein 1 (PCBP1), an RNA splicing factor, and regulate PCBP1 intracellular localization. Additionally, circEsyt2 silencing substantially enhanced p53β splicing via the PCBP1-U2AF65 interaction, leading to the altered expression of p53 target genes (cyclin D1, p21, PUMA, and NOXA) and the decreased proliferation of VSMCs. Thus, we identified a potentially novel circRNA that regulated vascular remodeling, via altered RNA splicing, in atherosclerotic mouse models.
