Objective Three‐dimensional (3D)‐CT data is currently insufficient for classifying femoral trochanter fractures. Fracture classification based on fracture stability analysis is helpful to evaluate the prognosis of patients after internal fixation. Currently, there is a lack of fracture classification methods based on 3D‐CT images and fracture stability analysis. The aim of this study was to propose a new six‐part classification method for intertrochanteric fractures of femur based on 3D‐CT images and fracture stability analysis to improve the diagnosis rate of unstable fractures. Method From January 2009 to December 2019, 320 patients receiving intramedullary nail surgery for femoral intertrochanteric fractures at Chengdu University's Affiliated Hospital were studied retrospectively. AO and six‐part classifications were undertaken according to the 3D‐CT image data of the patients, and the stability rates of two classifications were compared. According to the six‐part classification stability criteria, the patients were divided into a stable and an unstable fracture group. The perioperative and follow‐up indicators of the two groups were statistically analyzed, and the six‐part classification's inter‐observer and internal reliability was examined. Results There were 107 men and 213 females women the 320 patients, with an average age of 79.32 ± 11.26 years and an osteoporosis rate of 55.63% (178/320). The fracture stability rate of 39.69% (127/320) was studied using a six‐part classification method. The AO classification fracture stability rate was 42.50% (136/320), with no significant difference (χ2 = 0.523, p = 0.470 > 0.05). There is no statistically significant difference between the two classification techniques in the examination of fracture stability (McNemer difference test p = 0.306 > 0.05; Kappa consistency test p 0.75, the inter‐observer ICC value was 0.921 > 0.75, and the intra‐observer and inter‐observer reliability were both good. Conclusion The six‐part classification of femoral intertrochanteric fractures based on 3D‐CT images has broader guiding relevance for femoral intertrochanteric fracture stability analysis. Clinicians will find this classification simpler and more consistent than the AO classification.

Mg3Sb2 has been considered a highly promising thermoelectric material for mid-temperature applications. Optimizing the properties of the material is crucial for accelerating its commercial use. In this work, first-principles molecular simulations of P-type Mg3Sb2 doped with the carbon group elements Ge and Si have been carried out. Results indicate that doping with Ge and Si enhances the thermodynamic stability and electrical conductivity of the material. This improvement is achieved by decreasing the bandgap, increasing the local and peak density of states, flattening the band structure, and elevating the relative mass of carriers. Additionally, doping with Ge and Si decreases the phonon velocity and Debye temperature, which weakens the thermal transport properties of the material. These findings suggest that Ge and Si doping is an effective method for improving the thermoelectric properties of the material. At the same doping concentration, the Si single-doped system possesses the smallest bandgap value with the highest peak density of states and forms an indirect bandgap, leading to the best electrical transport properties; the Ge single-doped system has the lowest phonon velocity and Debye temperature, which has the most significant effect in attenuating the thermal transport properties of the material; and the Ge–Si co-doped system has the highest relative mass of carriers, which is conducive to the enhancement of Seebeck coefficient. The results offer theoretical guidance for experimentally analyzing the effects of Ge and Si doping on the thermoelectric properties of Mg3Sb2.

BackgroundThe present systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted to investigate the effects of music on pain management in preterm neonates during painful procedures.MethodsThe PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, EBSCO and Cochrane Library databases were searched to identify relevant articles published from their inception to September 2023. The study search strategy and all other processes were implemented in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement.ResultsFour RCTs that satisfied the inclusion criteria were included in this meta-analysis. The music group had significantly lower Premature Infant Pain Profile (PIPP) scores during (RR = −1.21; 95% CI = −2.02–−0.40, p = 0.0032) and after painful procedures (RR = −0.65; 95% CI = −1.06–−0.23, p = 0.002). The music group showed fewer changes in PIPP scores after invasive operations than did the control group (RR = −2.06; 95% CI −3.16–−0.96; p = 0.0002). Abstract Background To investigate the positive rate and clinical applicability of liquid—based fungal method for detecting of vaginal fungi. We collect the secretions from the posterior vaginal fornix and the vaginal wall of 198 patients with clinically suspected fungi vaginitis patients for study. Methods The vaginal fungi of vaginal discharge were detected by fluorescence method, i.e., by liquid—based thin-layer fungi fluorescence morphology staining detection kit (liquid—based fungal method), saline smear method and fungal culture method. In this study, the leaching solution containing vanadium(IV), chromium(III) and iron(II) obtained in the process of extracting low valence vanadium from vanadium slag was taken as the research object, and the vacuum cooling method was applied to crystallize iron(II) from the leachatein the form of Mohr’s salt, which realized the efficient separation of iron from vanadium(IV) and chromium(III) and the preparation of Mohr’s salt. The effect of pH value, ammonium sulfate addition, reaction time, and crystallization time on the separation behavior of ferrovanadium crystallization were investigated. The results showed that the removal rate of iron reached 86.42% under the conditions of the vacuum degree of 0.08 MPa, pH value of 2.5, addition of ammonium sulfate (calculated as n((NH4)2SO4)/n(FeSO4)) of 1.2, reaction for 140 min and crystallization for 36 h. The loss of vanadium and chromium were only 0.52% and 1.64%, respectively. In addition, Mohr’s salt with a purity of 99.23% was obtained.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a systemic metabolic disease with high mortality and morbidity. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as a novel class of signaling molecules, biomarkers and therapeutic agents. EVs-mediated intercellular and interorgan crosstalk of pancreatic islets plays a crucial role in the regulation of insulin secretion of β-cells and insulin action in peripheral insulin target tissues, maintaining glucose homeostasis under physiological conditions, and it’s also involved in pathological changes including autoimmune response, insulin resistance and β-cell failure associated with DM. In addition, EVs may serve as biomarkers and therapeutic agents that respectively reflect the status and improve function and viability of pancreatic islets. In this review, we provide an overview of EVs, discuss EVs-mediated intercellular and interorgan crosstalk of pancreatic islet under physiological and diabetic conditions, and summarize the emerging applications of EVs in the diagnosis and treatment of DM. A better understanding of EVs-mediated intercellular and interorgan communication of pancreatic islets will broaden and enrich our knowledge of physiological homeostasis maintenance as well as the development, diagnosis and treatment of DM.

Abstract Background A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to compare the safety and efficiency of nephroscopy and cystoscopy in transurethral cystolithotripsy (TUCL) for bladder stones (BS). Methods The PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane Library databases were searched up to January 2021 for studies assessing the effect of different types of endoscopes among patients who underwent TUCL. The search strategy and study selection process were in accordance with the PRISMA statement. Results Five randomized controlled trials were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed no difference in stone-free rate (RR = 1.00, CI = 0.98–1.02, p = 1.00) between the two groups and nonsignificant heterogeneity (I2 = 0%, p = 1.00), and all patients were rendered stone free. Abstract Background A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to compare the safety and efficacy of vacuum-assisted sheaths and conventional sheaths in minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MPCNL) in the treatment of nephrolithiasis. Methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane Library databases (updated March 2021) were used to search for studies assessing the effect of vacuum-assisted sheaths in patients who underwent MPCNL. The search strategy and study selection processes were implemented in accordance with the PRISMA statement. Result Three randomized controlled trials and two case-controlled trials that satisfied the inclusion criteria were enrolled in this meta-analysis. Overall, the stone-free rate (SFR) in patients who underwent vacuum-assisted sheaths was significantly higher than that in patients who underwent conventional sheaths (RR 1.23, 95% CI 1.04, 1.46, P = 0.02), with significant heterogeneity among the studies (I2 = 72%, P = 0.03). Emotion in the learning process can directly influence the learner's attention, memory, and cognitive activities. Several literatures indicate that hand-drawn painting could reflect the learner's emotional status. But, such an evaluation of emotional status, manually conducted by the psychologist, is usually subjective and inefficient for clinical practice. To address the issues of subjectivity and inefficiency in the painting based emotional analysis, we conducted an exploration of a painting based emotional analysis in learning environment by using convolutional neural network model. A painting image of 100 × 100 pixels was used as input for the model. The instant emotional statue of the learner was collected by filling out a questionnaire and was reviewed by a psychologist and then used as the label for training the convolutional neural network model. With the completion of convolutional, full-connected, and classification operations, the features of the painting image were learned from the underlying pixel matrix to the high-level semantic feature mapping. Then the emotional classification of the painting image could be made to reflect the learner's emotional status. Finally, the classification result by the model was compared with the result manually conducted by a psychologist to validate the model accuracy. We conducted an experiment in a university at Hangzhou, and 2,103 learners joined in the experiment. The learner was required to first fill out a questionnaire reporting emotional status in the learning process, and then to complete a theme-specified painting. Two thousand valid paintings were received and divided into training dataset (1,600) and test dataset (400). The experimental result indicated that the model achieved the accuracy of 72.1%, which confirmed the effectiveness of the model for emotional analysis.

Compared with the traditional method of extracting V(V), extracting low valence vanadium (LVV) directly from vanadium containing raw material can shorten the extracting process and prevent the generation of poisonous residual and waste water bearing V(V). Vanadium-iron spinel is the main vanadium containing component in vanadium slag and in which the vanadium is in trivalence state. In this work, the dissolution behavior of LVV from vanadium-iron spinel Fe2VO4 in sulfuric acid solution was investigated systematically, and the dissolution mechanism was discussed accordingly. The results indicated that a maximum LVV recovery from Fe2VO4 was as high as 96.54% without the generation of V(V), which showed the possibility of extraction LVV. Besides, the dissolution temperature was the most important factor affecting the recovery of LVV. The surface chemical reaction was rate-determining step and the apparent activation energy was 43.02 kJ/mol. After dissolution, the vanadium existed in the form of VO2+ in the solution. This study could provide guidance for extraction of LVV directly from vanadium bearing raw material.

In this paper, the load frequency control problem of multi-area interconnected power systems containing PV and energy storage system is considered. First, based on the traditional load frequency control model, the model of photovoltaic and energy storage system is established. Then, when the upper and lower bounds of disturbances are known, a fast terminal sliding mode controller is designed, which compensates the influence of disturbances effectively. Further, by introducing an adaptive law to estimate the bound of the unknown disturbances, an adaptive fast terminal sliding mode controller is designed, which reduces the dependence on the disturbance boundary. By designing the controller, the stability of the system is analyzed. Finally, simulations are performed with two area power systems to verify the effectiveness of the designed controller. The simulation results show that the adaptive fast terminal sliding mode controller can overcome the effects of disturbances. In addition, when the energy storage system and the controller participate in frequency regulation, the load frequency deviation fluctuation is further reduced, which enhances the performance of system.

Background: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to explore the effect of local treatment (LT) on overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific mortality (CSM) for patients diagnosed with M1c prostate cancer (PCa).Methods: PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases (updated November 2020) were searched for studies assessing the effect of LT on patients with M1c Pca. The search strategy and study selection process was managed according to the PRISMA statement.Results: Four cohort respective studies were identified for satisfying the inclusion criteria. Our results indicated that LT significantly improved CSM (HR = 0.36, 95% CI = 0.22–0.60; P < 0.0001) and OS (HR = 0.42, 95% CI = 0.24–0.77; P = 0.004). Subgroup analysis showed that radical prostatectomy (RP) and radiation therapy (RT) including brachytherapy (BT), conformal radiation therapy (CRT), and intensity modulated radiation (IMRT) had a significant benefit on cutting down the CSM of M1c PCa patients (HR = 0.27, 95% CI = 0.13–0.56; P = 0.0005 and HR = 0.42, 95% CI = 0.20–0.89; P = 0.02). In addition, RP had improved the OS for patients (HR = 0.33, 95% CI = 0.15–0.73; P = 0.008). There was no difference of OS in patients that underwent RT (HR = 0.58, 95% CI = 0.24–1.40; P = 0.23). No significant heterogeneity was among the results, indicating consistency in the study.Conclusions: Present meta-analysis indicates that LT for M1c PCa correlated with decreased CSM and enhanced OS. The survival benefit of RP was successfully confirmed and the advantage of RT seemed to be associated with the tumor burden and method of RT.

To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for investigating the effect of dietary treatment and fluid intake on the prevention of recurrent calcium stones and changes in urine composition. PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane Library databases (updated November 2020) were searched for studies with the following keywords: diet, fluid, recurrent, prevention, randomized controlled trials, and nephrolithiasis. The search strategy and study selection process was conducted by following the PRISMA statement. Six RCTs were identified for satisfying the inclusion criteria and enrolled in this meta-analysis. Our result showed that low protein with or without high fiber diet intervention does not decrease the recurrence of stone upon comparing with control groups (RR = 2.32, 95% CI = 0.42-12.85; P = 0.34) with significant heterogeneity among the studies (I2 = 81%, P = 0.02). But normal-calcium, low protein, low-salt diet had recurrences did reduced the recurrence compared to normal-calcium diet. And the fluid intake has a positive effect on prevention of recurrent stone formation (RR = 0.39, 95% CI = 0.19-0.80; P = 0.01) with insignificant heterogeneity among the studies (I2 = 9%, P = 0.30). The different components of urine at baseline were reported in four studies. Upon reviewing the low protein with or without high fiber dietary therapy groups, it was found that there were no obvious changes in the 24-hour urine sodium, calcium, citrate, urea, and sulfate. In conclusion, our study shows that the only low protein with or without fiber does not affect recurrence, but low Na, normal Ca diet has a marked effect on reducing recurrence of calcium stone. And fluid intake shows a significant reduction in the recurrence of calcium stone.

Objective A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to explore the efficacy of tranexamic acid (TXA) in reducing transfusion events in patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). Methods PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases from January 1980 to October 2019 were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that assessed TXA efficacy in reducing transfusion events during PCNL. Intervention treatments include using TXA compared with placebo (or no intervention) for patients who underwent PCNL. The search strategy and study selection process were managed in accordance with the PRISMA statement. Results Six RCTs are included in the meta-analysis. Overall, TXA intervention groups showed a significant reduction in blood transfusion events (RR = 0.34; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.19 to 0.62), hemoglobin decrease (MD = −0.80; 95% CI = −1.32 to −0.28), operative time (MD = −12.62; 95% CI = −15.62 to −9.61), and length of hospital stay (MD = −0.73; 95% CI = −1.36 to −0.10) compared with control groups after PCNL. However, TXA had no substantial impact on the rate of stone clearance (RR = 1.10; 95% CI = 1.00 to 1.21). Conclusions TXA can effectively reduce the transfusion rate and blood loss during PCNL.

The present systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was conducted for investigating the effect of diuretics on the outcomes of shockwave lithotripsy (SWL) for the treatment of urinary stones. We performed searches of PubMed, Web of science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases from inception to November 2019. RCTs were selected for assessing the effects of diuretics on fragmentation and clearance of urinary stones. The search strategy and study selection process were performed in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines. Four RCTs were included in the meta-analysis. Overall, intervention groups experienced significant improvements in fragmentation compared with the control groups (risk ratio [RR] = 1.14, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.05-1.03, P = 0.02). However, stone clearance did not significantly differ between the intervention and control groups (RR = 1.23, 95% CI = 0.97-1.56, P = 0.08). The total numbers of shocks and sessions required were significantly reduced by the use of diuretics. Diuretics significantly enhance stone fragmentation for patients undergoing SWL. However, the improvement in stone clearance appears to be insignificant.

A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to explore the effect of a eutectic mixture of local anaesthetics (EMLA) on pain reduction during extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL). PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases (updated March 2020) were searched for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the effect of EMLA for patients that underwent ESWL. The search strategy and study selection process were managed according to the PRISMA statement. Six RCTs were included in the meta-analysis. Overall, the results indicated that EMLA significantly reduced pain compared to the control group (RR = -2.98, 95% CI = -5.82 to -0.13, P = 0.04) with a heterogeneity of I2 = 57% (P = 0.04). Subgroup analysis showed that EMLA did not significantly reduce pain when the patients took an analgesic premedication (RR = -1.46, 95% CI = -5.89 to 2.98, P = 0.52) with a heterogeneity of I2 = 38% (P = 0.52). Conversely, studies without premedication showed a significant pain relief effect (RR = -4.08, 95% CI = -7.36 to -0.65, P = -0.80) with a heterogeneity of I2 = 48% (P = 0.14). Most studies showed there was no difference in the patient's need for analgesics. EMLA was effective for reducing pain during EWSL. However, this analgesic effect was limited and did not reduce the need for analgesics.

There are many small objects in traffic scenes, but due to their low resolution and limited information, their detection is still a challenge. Small object detection is very important for the understanding of traffic scene environments. To improve the detection accuracy of small objects in traffic scenes, we propose a small object detection method in traffic scenes based on attention feature fusion. First, a multi-scale channel attention block (MS-CAB) is designed, which uses local and global scales to aggregate the effective information of the feature maps. Based on this block, an attention feature fusion block (AFFB) is proposed, which can better integrate contextual information from different layers. Finally, the AFFB is used to replace the linear fusion module in the object detection network and obtain the final network structure. The experimental results show that, compared to the benchmark model YOLOv5s, this method has achieved a higher mean Average Precison (mAP) under the premise of ensuring real-time performance. It increases the mAP of all objects by 0.9 percentage points on the validation set of the traffic scene dataset BDD100K, and at the same time, increases the mAP of small objects by 3.5%.

In recent years, wind power systems have been used extensively, which not only improve the efficiency of current conventional power generation systems, but also can save traditional fossil fuel resources. However, considering the instability of wind power, after being grid connected, it can easily cause an impact on the stability of the grid operation. Considering the above problems, this paper considers to make full use of the energy storage part of electric vehicles (EVs) to increase the stability of grid operation. Based on the mathematical model, this paper studies the load frequency control (LFC) problem of a multi-region interconnected power system with wind power and EVs. First, since the system states are difficult to be monitored, a state observer is designed to estimate the state. Based on this, the integral sliding mode controller (SMC) is designed to realize the LFC of the interconnected power system. Meanwhile, to obtain better control performance, this paper further analyzes and optimizes the controller parameters based on Lyapunov stability theory. At last, simulations are carried out for the power systems with two regions in Simulink. The results show that the designed controllers are effective to compensate the load demand disturbances. In addition, it is demonstrated that the battery storage of EVs can play the role of peak-shaving and valley-filling in LFC.

Haemophilus parasuis, the causative agent of Glässer’s disease, has been reported as widespread, but little is known about its epidemiology in the Sichuan province of China. The goal of our research is to reveal the prevalence and distribution of H. parasuis in this area. Sampling and isolation were performed across Sichuan; isolates were processed using serotyping multiplex PCR (serotyping-mPCR) and agar gel diffusion (AGD) for confirmation of serovar identity. This study was carried out from January 2014 to May 2016 and 254 H. parasuis field strains were isolated from 576 clinical samples collected from pigs displaying clinical symptoms. A novel electromagnetic active suspension with an energy-regenerative structure is proposed to solve the suspension’s control consumption problem. For this new system, a 2-DOF quarter-car model is built, and dynamics performances are studied using the variable universe fuzzy theory and the PD control approach. A self-powered efficiency concept is defined to describe the regenerative structure’s contribution to the whole control consumption, and its influent factors are also discussed. Simulations are carried out using software Matlab/Simulink, and experiments are conducted on the B-class road. The results demonstrate that the variable universe fuzzy control can recycle more than 18 percent vibration energy and provide over 11 percent power for the control demand. Furthermore, the new suspension system offers a smaller body acceleration and decreases dynamic tire deflection compared to the passive ones, so as to improve both the ride comfort and the safety.
